thanks Sharon! Funny headline....I thought it was odd that he pulled out of his own driveway and hit a hydrant so bad to have to go to the hospital at 2am in the morning, no alcohol involved. Figured it must have been SOME domestic fight and sure enough on the Weather Channel of all places this morning they said there is speculation of an affair. BAD TIGER. He has only said its a private matter and he will not discuss it.
MORNIN' MEMA JO!--It's a dreary--rainy-grey morning here in WILD & WONDERFUL WEST VIRGINIA!!---my bushes are filled with lots of little birds---fluttering around!! The DEER were so bold yesterday ---they saw me at the window---but instead of running---they just went on eating!!
NORMA, I do beg your pardon...you DIDN'T mention the denomination of any bills! I guess I was thinking $50 bills, because I just sold a Santa suit, Friday and was given 2 $50 bills...had that on my mind. I DO HAVE BLONDE ROOTS:)
Sharon and Lynne, sorry for your losses, for sure. Wanda, my mom still cries for my dad and it will be 40 years in Jan. Yep, Norma, people do treat widows a bit differently....most friends were couples and they just don't know what to do about a single in their midst. Mom had three couples who stayed close, but that was it. And she never heard again from a couple of daddy's single friends.
Good morning! Cloudy, cool day here, 47 and colder tomorrow. Rain and possibly snow. Lovely, just lovely. Our "swamp" is just drying up and here comes more rain.
Missed y'all the last few days, but there was just too much going on around here to sit down and get on the computer. Did peek in and comment once or twice. Glad I did or I would not have known about Ed.
Cleaning house today. 5 days of boys....I do believe the carpet needs to be vacuumed. However, they did very well taking their shoes off at the door. Also, we had BOSCO, their dog. I am talking about a 70 lbs. dog. He shed a wee bit and brought in leaves. Though they wiped his feet with a towel every time he went out.
Shirley, get those people out to clean the sofa. You paid for it! We had professional folks come out a clean a new mattress one time. I was washing the sheets and the cat threw up on the mattress. They did a good job.
Okay, our computer is down. Having to share the laptop with Jack. So, I am going to be nice and pass it over to him
BEAVER BORN AND BEAVER BRED, AND WHEN I DIE, I'LL BE BEAVER DEAD! SINGING RAH RAH FOR BEAVER, SINGING RAH RAH FOR BEAVER, SINGING RAH RAH FOR BEAVER, RAH, RAH, RAH!!
Bluefield Beavers play in the WV State AA Championship game in Wheeling Friday night.
I am off to the bank...being a Great Grandparent you don't get to go into the toy stores. With all the items that parents, grandparents and Santa Clause brings - the Savings Bonds mean the most - at a later date of course.
Happy, wet Monday Afternoon Everyone! Got some good catalogs I like~~~will go thru them & maybe get online for Cyber Monday! Wish I was rich and had an assistant that could do all the Xmas prep!! Well gotta get some lunch & get busy! Have a great day! Maybe we'll see some BIG birds this PM!! ☺
Got the WildBird mag issue w/ the Birds of Prey feature! I ordered a dozen and they sent 20! I will bring them to our next gathering for any who want them....or can mail them to you if you want it now!! Just let me know!
Steve saw a Kingfisher yesterday when him and his friend Dave went for a little hike and we saw one last time fishing. So we looked up some information on them because I don't know much about them and WOW, did anyone know they make TUNNELS in the ground for nesting?

Okay, sure we can get those magazines around, I'll keep on eye on the comments and catch up in a day or so, I know Lynn got 12 - I have 3 to spare, Lynne2 has some extras... Let no child be left behind ☺
I have to go to work soon, signing off now.
Sure hope the weather improves if Dana and Nilla are going to Conowingo Tuesday...
Best wishes for a good evening, See you Tuesday sometime. xo ☺ ♥
Hi, Gang, Well, have been running around like mad today, and have finally come to roost at the computer! Have been looking at everyone's eagle pictures over and over again! They are all just beautiful!!! Thanks for posting them! Have tried to catch up some--Diann, that's great that your reach with your right arm is almost all better! Shows that you have really been working on it! Good job! Glo, hope your headache went away! Loretta, sorry to hear that you were under the weather--hope you're 100% now! Prayers being said for Sharon's friend, Caroline, who lost her youngest sister. So very sorry to hear of her loss! (Prayers for Sharon, too, 'cuz you probably knew Caroline's sister.) Lynn and Margy, prayers for both of you still in the loss of your E.R. friend! It makes your heart ache when you lose a longtime friend. HEY, SO glad to see we have a working cam again!!! Woo HOO!! Thanks to whoever fixed it! Bless you! BTW, just noticed this last weekend that the USPS distribution center near us has a topiary out front of the USPS eagle! Will have to figure out where it's OK to park, and will try to get a picture of it for you guys. No stopping allowed on the street. Will figure it out.
Hello friends! I have a few minutes before the SAT prep class starts. No students have arrived yet. It is so cold and rainy that it would be a good night to stay home and keep warm.
I went out for a bit of shopping . . . milk, a prescription, etc. Then picked up a tuna sub and came back here.
Sharon, got a kick out of your Tiger Woods headline! Good one! Or maybe it's so bad, it's good! ROFLMBO!--WOW! TRAIN on Wednesday!!! Well, I guess I'd better tear myself away for a bit. Need to go make another small batch of turkey stuffing to go with the last of the left-overs. Then I need to save a bunch of pictures that our daughter put on Snapfish. Once I've saved them, I can show a few to you guys! Shirley and Judie, Hope you both have renewed strength to get you through the rest of your school duties! Prayers for both of you, and ((((HUGS)))), too! I'll be back later, after dinner. Have a great evening, everyone! :o]
P.S.~~Dana, here's a HUGE ((((HUG)))) for you, too! Can't get you out of my mind! My prayers are with you, too. Wish I could be there for you in person! :o}
Andy, we'll be anxious to see a pic of that topiary! Cool!!! How appropriate for USPS to have it!! Lynne, Nilla is an original momster, who only rarely blogs now. Her name is Janet. Yep, weather sounds okay for tomorrow for them!
OH...OK. Well, I hope she comes back to the blog again!
Think I'm going to sign off for the evening. Have some things to do and want to get to bed early. Which means I'll probably be back! LOL! BUT, just in case, sweet dreams and prayers for all!
Hi everyone. I woke up today feeling much better. Dex and i got in the car and headed north to see some tundra swans aobut 60 miles from here. They were pretty far out for any decent pictures but there wee a hundred or more there for sure. Also saw 3 osprey 2 adult and one juvie eagle. So it was a good day for me.
I haven't read the old thread but I surely agree. YES folks do treat widows differently. Most of our couple friends still have each other. They are kind but of course go on wiht their married lives and enjoying other married couples when they are scheduling where to go and what to do. There is a sense of loss every time that happens However the gain is I have a lot of single friends now. Some divorced and not remarried. We make our own plans and carry on. Many of them are younger than me but I can adopt a local grandchild that way too. Not sure if that makes sense but it fills some holes in lofe for everyone involved.
I do hope the trip to the dam to see eagles will be awesome for our Dana And yes she will always miss him if the marriage was as good as it appeared to be.
I'm hopping on this train and hope it is going to Texas...I want to tell Lolly that I tried her Bacon Pasta for supper and it was sooo good. Used light cream instead of whipping cream, no bacon grease, and it was still VERY good...less calories. THANKS FOR THE RECEIPE, LOLLY:)
Yea, Wanda! So glad you liked the Bacon Pasta. It is soooo yummy! Yes, I usually do not use the bacon drippings.
We had left over turkey and dressing tonight. Have enough for one more meal and we are really enjoying it. Had to make more gravy, that is all.
Cleaned house and did laundry today. Then...I headed outside. Bad weather is headed our way and I wanted OUT! So, I mowed and mulched leaves. We got down the lights for the house but that is all.
Well, there you are Lolly:) Gene really, really liked the pasta! When we first got married, he didn't like pasta, with the exception of Mac & Cheese. You cannot be married to an Italian and NOT LIKE PASTA! He has learned to love it as much as I:)
Lolly, Gene went to the grocery store for some specials and I asked him to bring me back some whipping cream. He brought back Reddi-Whip in a can! I had to run in and get the real stuff, but they only had Light Cream. Probably a good substitute with a lot fewer calories. MEN!
HAHAHA!! Whipping cream, whipped cream...sounds like something I would do! I want bacon pasta....
Sorry Gee Gee has to have surgery...but I bet she'll be much better without the bum gallbladder. They can do that laproscopicly now can't they? MUCH less invasive and much faster recovery!
Wanda, Keep us posted concerning Gee Gee's upcoming gall bladder operation. She is something else! "Take it Out The Sooner the Better!" Just may solve all of her discomfort that she has at times.
LOL Reddi whip, huh? Nope, that won't work. I am going to have all of you eating Bacon Pasta before long.
Well, at least he went to the store for you. That was nice!
If you really want to cook, I have a couple more delicious recipes but there is a lot more preparation. BUT, to die for! One recipe is veal and the other flank steak.
Took another tumble today. This time I tripped and fell on the sidewalk that goes around the house. No broken bones, but I am very sore. Again, put out both hands to catch my self, so they are a little sore, but my left knee took the blow. I am afraid I will be really stiff in the morning. I lay there flat on my face for a few minutes, glad no one saw me! Then slowly started moving to see if I was okay. Jack was inside and did not see it happen.
Sorry, GG has to have surgery, but hopefully she will feel better afterwards.
My SAT students showed up just before 6:00 and they worked very hard. I told them that they could stop by if they have questions before the Saturday morning test, and they could e-mail me if they wish. I also told them that I would think of them Saturday morning when they are taking the test and I'm sleeping in, but that I will be up by the time they start the test because my cat will not let me sleep that late.
well I am disappointed to see that my FAVORITE Christmas movie, The Bishop's Wife, isn't listed anywhere on that schedule! Good thing I have the video!
Lolly You are lucky you didn't jam your wrist. I fell forward once and boy my wrist, elbows and entire arms hurt for a week. But what are you going to do to break your fall???
Wanda, I agree with GeeGee---the sooner the better! What surgeon does Bowers recommend? Jo, Trauma was good! Sure hope they change their mind about takiing it off. No, haven't fixed the Bacon Pasta yet----not worth the effort just for me. Gotta do it when I have company! The whipped cream story is funny!!! But I have been frsutrated about cream for a number of years.....can no longer find what we used to call Table cream---which was basically coffee cream. Old family recipe calls for it....have to settle for heavy cream, which is much richer.
ROFLMBO Judie really comes up with the good ones. Gene and his alternative motive for getting the Reddi whip. Woo woo!
Right! What else do you break you fall with? Last time I did this it was a trip to the er. No broken bones, but both wrists had to be wrapped for a long while and they really hurt!
Lynne - that may have really done me in - I would probably have had a broken shoulder and fractured hip and don't know what all! I remember I was walking down wooden steps and my heel (high heel shoes) got caught and threw me forward. No place to Tuck It In! I would have if I could have..... lol
I am a little worried about one of them. He kept asking questions in the middle of timed practices. Once, he even asked to go to the restroom. I told him that he just cannot do those things on test day. Not sure what got into him. Overall, they worked hard and I think they will have improved their scores with all the practice they did. I put them through practice after practice because they don't tend to do it on their own. I think they got their money's worth. They have to pay $50, which includes the price of the $20 book.
Tuck and roll is easy if you are going to jump, but natural instinct is to try to break a fall, and we all pay for doing it!!!! I've had two broken wrists to prove it....6 and 8 yrs. ago!
Okay, Jo, I'll let you know when I plan to fix it.
Lots of good movies on that list, Lynne. White Christmas is and always will be my fav. Bing Crosby and my Dad could have been brothers!
Diann, my Mother's great grandchildren call her GeeGee, short for Great Grandmother and they spell it 'GeeGee'. I prefer just plain GG. The doctor said he thought she would be able to withstand the surgery because of the simplicity of the way they do it now. I explained to her how they would go about it and she is OK with that. She said she didn't care if they cut her from here to there...as long as she can feel better.
Worked on some updates for the computer, but had to reverse them all...computer couldn't handle it!
I would suggest the light cream for the bacon pasta...regular cream is too thick...I had to add milk to thin it out!
Hope the knee feels better soon. Lolly.
Funny story about the Reddi whip, Wanda. Used it for the first time in a long time on the cheesecake...I'll stick with regular whipped topping, the reddi whip goes flat after awhile.
can't remember what else I wanted to comment on...other than...
HAVE YOU BOUGHT YOUR "WHEN EAGLES DREAM" VIDEO YET FROM THE FRIENDS OF NCTC? YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Sharon and Lynne, sorry for your losses, for sure. Wanda, my mom still cries for my dad and it will be 40 years in Jan. I think the weather is going to be nice for Dana and Nilla (who IS Nilla?) tomorrow, in the low 50s and sunny!

Cleaned house and did laundry today. Then...I headed outside. Bad weather is headed our way and I wanted OUT! So, I mowed and mulched leaves. We got down the lights for the house but that is all.
Where di everyone go?
Well, there you are Lolly:) Gene really, really liked the pasta! When we first got married, he didn't like pasta, with the exception of Mac & Cheese. You cannot be married to an Italian and NOT LIKE PASTA! He has learned to love it as much as I:)
Lolly, Gene went to the grocery store for some specials and I asked him to bring me back some whipping cream. He brought back Reddi-Whip in a can! I had to run in and get the real stuff, but they only had Light Cream. Probably a good substitute with a lot fewer calories. MEN!
I'm still lurking, Wanda! Watched House and now Trauma.
I want some Bacon Pasta.....I WANT some Bacon Pasta.....have cream on next grocery list!
Lynn, I got a call from Dr. B today and he thinks GG's GB should come out. She said "the sooner the better":)
Lynn, if you haven't tried the Bacon Pasta...it is a must!
I think I'm hungry - for Bacon Pasta of course!
Wanda, Keep us posted concerning Gee Gee's upcoming gall bladder operation.
She is something else! "Take it Out
The Sooner the Better!" Just may solve all of her discomfort that she has at times.
I haven't watched any TV tonight. Is Trauma any good, Lynn?
Hoping the Christmas movies soon start
Castle is on Lolly.
It is pretty good, Lynn and any other
looking for a reason to stay up another hour.
Jo, here is a list of Christmas shows!
Christmas Shows
My SAT students showed up just before 6:00 and they worked very hard. I told them that they could stop by if they have questions before the Saturday morning test, and they could e-mail me if they wish. I also told them that I would think of them Saturday morning when they are taking the test and I'm sleeping in, but that I will be up by the time they start the test because my cat will not let me sleep that late.
I hope they all do well.
Guess I missed the train!
OH LOLLY! How terrible, I hope you are REALLY OK! Put some ice on your knee for a while and then maybe a hot bath?
Whoops! Thanks, Jo! Almost missed Castle. Was not watching TV since DWTS is over. Have to adjust my thinking! Such a creature of habit!
Put ice on my knee when it happened. Probably should do it again.
R.I.C.E. Lolly, rest, ice, compression, elevation. I think you are supposed to do ice for 20 minutes on, 20 off.....LYNN WHERE ARE YOU?
Thanks Lynne. See some I really don't want to miss.
well I am disappointed to see that my FAVORITE Christmas movie, The Bishop's Wife, isn't listed anywhere on that schedule! Good thing I have the video!
Oh, this is a rerun of Castle! Dern!
What's everyone elses favorite?
Wanda, sorry about Miss Gee Gee needing surgery but know she'll be all the better than ever after it's over.
Lolly, please be careful when practicing your gymnastics. Don't want any injuries for you.
Wanda, I just wonder if Gene didn't have some ulterior motive for getting whipped cream! Woohoo!
Oh (*%@$) -- there goes that TRAIN again!
Shirley, hope your students learned some good strategies tonight and will do well on the SAT this weekend. Long night for you.
Have a school day tomorrow so need to turn my light out. Leaving the night light on for others. Andy, please set the security system when you come in.
Eagle dreams to all.
Shirley, maybe if you give George a "midnight" before you go to bed Friday he will let you sleep in a little!
Lolly You are lucky you didn't jam your wrist. I fell forward once and
boy my wrist, elbows and entire arms hurt for a week. But what are you going to do to break your fall???
JUDIE!!! my goodness, you are FUNNY!! LOL!
I have my regularly scheduled lung CT
tomorrow. I go every 4 months to keep
check that the meds I am taking are doing their job.
I like Castle, but there will be reruns for a while. Gene is watching Saints & Patriots. Go Saints!
Jo, "they" always say if you fall, tuck in. Don't try to break the fall. WELL, that's easier said than done!
Shirley, here's to your SAT students.
I know you gave them all you got!
Hoping for them to attain high scores.
Oh, Judie...I never thought about THAT;) How insensitive of me!
I'll be your company if you make it Lynn. Hubby isn't much for pasta but I
surely love it!
Lynn, I told Dr. Bowers that I would call him tomorrow, after I asked GeeGee if she wanted the surgery. I guess he will suggest some surgeon then.
BACON PASTA...I halved the receipe and it was just enough for the two of us, with a little left over for GG.
Lynne - that may have really done me in - I would probably have had a broken shoulder and fractured hip and don't know what all! I remember I was walking down wooden steps and my heel
(high heel shoes) got caught and threw me forward.
Lolly, Lolly, Lolly, do be careful!
All my "problems" began with a fall.
Poor Lolly.....sore for sure come morning! Take some ibuprofen, and put some ice on that knee.
I would guess if you didn't catch yourself with your hands, you would fall on your face and break your nose and all your teeth!:)
I do think I would want to break a wrist than bust out my teeth!
Wanda, did you return the Reddi whip?
Don't know who GeeGee is, but hope her medical problems are soon resolved. Will put her in my prayers.
No, Lolly. Not a chance of returning it now...I want to wait and see what the Capt. had in mind;) Tee Hee
Sharon don't miss that train on Wednesday (?). choo choo
Wish I could take a train ride ...
Goodness, Lolly! Take care of yourself.
Hope GeeGee's surgery is quick and easy.
Diann, GeeGee is Wanda's mother.
Bing Crosby and my Dad could have been brothers!
y'all are makin' me blush...
Goodness Wanda, just goodness!
Here's the Guest Book link for Ed:
Sign Guest Book
wow Lynn, you'll have to post a picture of your dad!
Well I am off to bed, sweet dreams and prayers for all!
Link does not work for me.
Link doesn't work for me either
Diann, my Mother's great grandchildren call her GeeGee, short for Great Grandmother and they spell it 'GeeGee'. I prefer just plain GG.
The doctor said he thought she would be able to withstand the surgery because of the simplicity of the way they do it now. I explained to her how they would go about it and she is OK with that. She said she didn't care if they cut her from here to there...as long as she can feel better.
Bless her heart! Hope the surgery is soon and she is feeling great by Christmas.
My 'puter is slow as Dial Up...takes about 2 minutes to refresh. Agravating the $#@*! out of me, so I think I will call it quits.

Lynn, hope you scare off that migrain.
Calling it quits myself. Time to shower and get comfy!
Snow coming down just west of us. We have our first freeze predicted for Friday. Yuk! My ferns are still looking good!
Good night all! (((Good night hugs for all)))
Howdy all.
Howdy everyone! I see Spidey is at it again...I see threads across the frame.
