MORNIN' BLUEFIELD SHARON & MEGAN!----I think I have been off the blog too long!---I can't find anything-- (didn't mean anything)---I HAVE FOUND MEGAN & SHARON!---ho! MORNIN' MITS & SISSY!---MITS--saw you on the other blog & thought I was wrong---bet STEVE is going to be gone for AWHILE---He gave us a new thread--& the old one wasn't too long!----
Wow, always takes me a long time to find the side door to the blog... had one view of an empty but beautiful nest an hour ago, and then all went kaplooie.
I'm heading out to Annandale this morning, one older sister there, another older sister coming up from Roanoke, and then the Three Silly Sisters will head to Ruxton (near Baltimore) Tuesday to visit our oldest sister....she has been ill for many years but we will try to make some joy.
Won't be back for a few days.... so Best Wishes for Everything Good for you, my Friends.
Got up earlier to see Moon setting, and Venus, Saturn and Mercury rising on the other side of the sky.
Finland is very dramatic to watch this morning, has been all overnight.
PLEASE KEEP DAVIN on your pray list!---I thought after surgery--she would just go home & get better---but she has appts at least twice a wk!---This wk I think she may be told when she can join the world again----Thanks----
Norma, our cardinals have had a VERY productive year. Feeding babies all Summer long and didn't get tricked into raising any NASTY COWBIRDS this year! Last year, I saw a Daddy cardinal feeding two cowbird babies!
MORNIN' MARGY & WANDA!---(i thought i had forgotten how to use a 'PUTER'!)---MARGY! I am certain you will be able to bring SUNSHINE into your sisters' lives!!!!---SENDING LOVE!----
Good Morning All! Good to see you here. Safe journey to you Steve. Safe journey to you Margy! We'll miss you here on the blog while you are gone. It is great when you and sisters pull together for one another!
I am to go out to lunch with childhood girlfriends - Just moving a little slow and I best hurry it up if I want to travel and be on time!
My flowers from Market yesterday are beautiful! Was a shocker NOT to be able to get our cam site up. Norma - Davin is going to have a full recovery when our prayers are answered
Mits is right, Norma---we haven't stopped praying for Davin. Prayers today for Diann, too, for her surgery. Margy, have a safe and fun trip. Know you all will have a ball. Yep, Judie lives in Annandale, and that was my stomping grounds through high school and college days! Morning all!! Sorry about your 'Boys, Norma......well....maybe not, but sorry you are down because of them!
I just had to go out and fill my hummingbird feeders again. They are still coming, 2-3 of them at least. They better get their little hummingbutts down the road!!
We still have one or two hummers today, too. Hubby saw a hawk come swooping into the holly tree and all these birds came flying out to get away. Hawk landed in tree, and out came a little hummer, and he got right in the hawks face and just kept flying back and forth in front of him. They are ornery...
MORNIN' JO!---Thanks---just talked w/DAV!---She sounds GOOD this am--'CARM' has a fever, etc---Dr said to isolate CARM & his aunt is taking him to dr!----but DAV sounds GREAT!!
Yikes, Norma---last thing Dav would need is to catch a bug now!!! Can his aunt take him for a couple of days? There's no such thing as real isolation in a household!!
Someone sent an email to webmastr last week about the stupid orange lettering---was it Jo? She might be able to find that email and get the address from it, but she's left us!!
Okay Bye...will wave for Judie and your old stomping grounds, Lynn... and also when I pass by Bethesda, and be near to Baltimore for Mits and Ceil and Mary Margy ☺ and others along the way, Megan, Jo, and so on and so on and so on...
Prayers continue for Davin, Diann, Ed and Dana, and all our others...
these senior citizens have got to stop attacking wild animals.....
LAKELAND, Fla. — A 74-year-old Lakeland woman was hospitalized after being mauled by a pack of raccoons she tried to shoo from her yard.
Gretchen Whitted fell when five raccoons surrounded and attacked, suffering extensive cuts from her neck to her legs.
"We're not talking about a lot of little bites here," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. "She was filleted."
A neighbor called for help after hearing the woman's cries and seeing her covered in blood.
Whitted received dozens of staples and sutures and was treated for rabies, though officials doubt the animals were infected.
Fire crews flooded nearby drains where some of the animals escaped, but none turned up. Animal Control officers hope to catch them in traps baited with wet cat food and sardines.
Poor lady....wonder if she DID do something to agitate them? They canbe very mean and nasty critters---obviously. Hate to see them at the feeder because they try to attack the deer.
Goodness, Deb....sure hope the snow doesn't fly your way. They've already started whispering about snowflakes possibly next Monday somewhere in these parts----but sure they are wrong!!
Well we got that soap and sandwiches to the shut ins gave them a little homemade beef noodle soup to go with it. Don't deliver July, August or September. One man said glad to see you girls. He called us girls. Need his eyes checked. One lady gave us milky ways. I am suppose to be doing this for penance and they make me feel good. Margy have a good trip.
I had received an emailed yesterday saying that ---I'm a bit apprehensive about this one since it's a replacement of the replacement. :( ((hugs)) Hope this one lasts longer than 5 years.
Judie - Only thing connecting the cowbird to a cow is the fact that these birds feed on insects, including the large numbers that may be stirred up by cattle. It is like Wanda says that they lay their eggs in others' nest.
Lynn thanks for the pic. I was able to see Belle for a second and the phone rang. Just got to look at the Anne Marie luncheon pictures. Anne Marie sure looks great. Hope she feels as well.
Good evening everyone. I see we've had an eagle visit! My online courses have started up. They run for six weeks. One teacher says it will require 3-4 hours of work per week. Some interesting questions. I have to identify my favorite website. That is an easy one!
Had to leave quickly cause I was late with my inspirational frig gazing.
Cowbird -- lays eggs in nest for others to raise -- hmmm, not unlike some humans who leave offspring for others to raise.
Hope Jacob didn't witness a crash. Might not be the best memory of this special trip.
If nestorations are beginning, I sure hope Belle and Lib don't find out about Shirley's new furniture.
Bear seems to be a regular these past few days.
Finally completed the syllabus for the police class that begins on the 22nd. Understand from a friend-retired NYPD-instructor that this a good group from a range of jurisdictions but no territorial cop issues.
Thanks, Lynn . . . multitasking tonight. Watching Dancing, advising Susan on her latest paper, trying to think of what to put on a form for my first block class tomorrow. They have to read their classmates' papers and make suggestions. I am trying to come up with the quesions I want them to answer based on what we discussed last class.
Ha, Shirley--the older I get, the harder it is to multitask---might be partially late chemo-brain. Don't know, but pretty much have to stick to 2things at a time now and not 3 or 4! Which is really okay, since I don't have to squeeze things in to a work schedule---yippee!
Judie---late dinner??? That class should be a good one for sure! And not wannabe adults!
Hi all! We are here! Arrived early afternoon. Have tried to get on the computer but had a weak signal. Trying again!
We had temps in the 70's, sunny, BUT the wind is horrific! Hope it does not ruin the balloon experience. We are in Sante Fe and plan to go see the balloons on Wed, Th, and Fri.
I had chemo, and then took Tamoxifen for five years. I had some awful memory lapses—especially people’s names and things like that. It does do things to you.
I am home, when I left work the game was tied 7-7. By the time I got home Vikes ahead 14-7. Lots of time left.
Cowbirds are good for eating insects, but will lay there eggs in any nest they find. It is not uncommon to see a small sparrow trying to nourish a cowbird hatchling. When they were first discovered by Lewis and Clark they were called Buffalo-peckers, as there weren't any cows around then.
Hi Lolly Glad to hear you are having a safe trip. Lynn heard about the balloon accident - I haven't read any details yet. I sure hope the wind blows out of the area. Enjoy your stay and hope Jacob is well.
Monday October 5, 2009 We have two little bundles of white fluff in the nest box. The eggs will hatch in the same order they were laid so it can take up to a week for all of the eggs to hatch. Two down, two to go !
I got the questions for the peer review put together. Went back and pulled them out of the Powerpoint I showed. This will be their first experience with doing a peer review.
Deb and Norma---don't get TOO accustomed to Favre. He'll retire at the end of the season----AGAIN!! And hopefully it will be his finale and no one will hire him back! Flip-flop, flip-flop.
Wow, Shirley, you're close to 15 yrs. Go girl! 5 doesn't really mean much with lung---they say it always comes back.
Shirley, glad you're mostly ready for tomorrow. Know how you feel when there's work to do but prefer the t.v.
Lolly, so happy you all made it to Santa Fe. Oh, please check to see if you have Jack or Gene with you. Wanda needs Gene in the shop tomorrow.
Drat, sandman's back making noises like a TRAIN. Guess I have to let him in so he won't keep Sharon awake. Turning my light out but leaving the night light on for others.
Good night one and all. Peaceful slumber---eagle dreams. Prayers for all in need---ill, recovering, traveling, or lonely. And prayers of thankfulness for good friends. See you in the morning.

Aw, Ceil, you are an angel of mercy! And you should feel good when you do charitable things!!
Hi ya', Jim. Glitches everywhere, huh??
Cam still has the orange logo....argh!
I am just grateful to be able to see the nest!
Have returned home - going to take me a while to read about everything that went on while I was gone!

On Oct 1st I sent email to

Prayers for Diann & her surgery
I had received an emailed yesterday saying that ---I'm a bit apprehensive about this one since it's a replacement of the replacement.
:( ((hugs))
Hope this one lasts longer than 5 years.
Jim's has had his knee replacement for 5 years this month. Hope all went well for Diann.
Most Momsters are still working or taking panda naps I bet.
Very quiet today for a Monday -

Gentleman on Snowman Cam is filling the feeders..........
Hello eagle peeps.
How are our eagles today?
No eagles seen yet today T-bird!
Of course, hard to see eagles when cam isn't working........Hi ya' Bedford gals!
I hope they visit before that night light comes on!
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT!
Belle, I think!
OUR EALGE
IN OUR NEST
BEAUTIFUL
IS ANYONE LOOKING AT THE NEST??
Well, I know you all have missed me. I was off in a hot air balloon with the sandman. Didn't see Gene so hope he's been with Wanda today.
Not to worry, Bob. Thought I would never get people straight -- I was right.
Prayers for Davin and for Diann's surgery.
Margie, you'll have to let me know which area of Annandale. Maybe you can add me to your quick visit list next time you're nearby.
What's a cowbird?
Back later
yep , I see her, Wanda
Sandra just emailed me with the pic of our eagle in the nest and the wording
WHOO HOO !
or him...does look kind of small
Taking some photos for Momster Album so that Margy knows we were thinking of her.
Some of the "Tree" is still hanging on. Doesn't seem to bother her, just yet.
So glad Sandra got to see our visitor!
She is one beautiful speciman, very regal.
JUDIE...a cowbird is an ugly brown bird that lays her eggs in other bird's nests for them to hatch and raise.
Wonder if Lolly and Jack (or is it Gene??) and Jacob saw the balloon that crashed today? Miracle---the guy just had a shoulder injury.
Cowbird - bird that sits on the back of a cow eating the flies.
I just making that up...... but it could be right - why else would they have that name......
Not moving a feather is he/she?
And I am going to say that is our Belle!
Mr. Belle, I presume?
Taking turns.
Show's over:(
Missed the visit while stuffing my face.....what is the light/white thing in the middle of the nest?
She's back!
Judie - Only thing connecting the cowbird to a cow is the fact that these birds feed on insects, including the large numbers that may be stirred up by cattle. It is like Wanda says that they lay their eggs in others' nest.
Size wise that is Belle for sure
SHE'S BACK!
Lots of Poofing going on
Gone again...really teasing us!
Sizewise that is Liberty for sure
BACK AGAIN!
Sent out capture.
Anyone get a pic of Belle the last time she came in?
his talons are crooked
I think she is taking inventory of what pieces and sizes of furniture to bring when the time comes.
Cam is taking almost a full minute to refresh...
Yes, Jo, I did get a photo of the last time she came in. Where do you want it?
You got it, Jo!
BOTH!!!! Sending out pic.
poof and poof
And poof! :(
Thanks to Lynn and Sandra I have about 10 photos from tonight's visit to put over into Momster Album....
BBILW
Ain't nothing like Lib and Belle making a blog blow up!
Wanda attach to email to me so I came put in TIME order.... Thanks !!!
Lynn thanks for the pic. I was able to see Belle for a second and the phone rang. Just got to look at the Anne Marie luncheon pictures. Anne Marie sure looks great. Hope she feels as well.
Bear at snowman cam
that bear is an early bird, still light there
I am watching 8:00 show on TV
If it is a repeat - I'll be back before
10:30.....
They should leave a honey crate out for the bear so he would stay away from the feeders....
Good evening everyone. I see we've had an eagle visit! My online courses have started up. They run for six weeks. One teacher says it will require 3-4 hours of work per week. Some interesting questions. I have to identify my favorite website. That is an easy one!
Mits I think it is about 2 hours earlier there. They might have to stop the feeders to keep it away. Dangerous to have a bear there.
Shirley you can tell them a lot about your favorite site.
I am off to watch tv
That I can, Ceil.
off to watch House
doe and raccoon at PIX
Shirley, you could teach the course if it's about a website and its appeal!!
The food flinging machine must have made some kind of sound or something that the raccoons heard or saw. They ran quite a bit before the food started.
I am sure there is a lot I can learn from this course, Lynn. I may be asking for advise from the folks here on some of the assignments.
advice.
We'll advise you and give advice if we can help!!
Had to leave quickly cause I was late with my inspirational frig gazing.

I just finished watching COLD CASE that we recorded last evening while watching the Mystery Masterpiece.
Going back over to Momsters' to put up Wanda's pics of tonight's visit.

We have two little bundles of white fluff in the nest box. The eggs will hatch in the same order they were laid so it can take up to a week for all of the eggs to hatch. Two down, two to go !
AUSTRIALIAN PEREGRIN FALCoN NEST
Just watched a news clip on msnbc.com
of the balloons... beautiful but Jacob probably will love the one that looks like an Alien........
Hi, Lolly. Glad you are settled in. I think the crash was in Albuquerque...I THINK....so goad that's not where you are!
Shirley, it will be 4 yrs. in Dec. since I finished chemo. Know I'm not as sharp as I was before it, but try to keep the ol' mind motivated.
Deb, hope the Vikes hold the lead!!
They closed Mt. Rushmore today due to heavy, wet snow. Trees and power lines down in the Black Hills.
Lynn, 21-14 now, Vikes ahead.
You are well on the way to the five-year mark, Lynn. My chemo was in 1995.
hope that snow stays there, Deb....Go Vikings
I got the questions for the peer review put together. Went back and pulled them out of the Powerpoint I showed. This will be their first experience with doing a peer review.
Well, Mits, I didn't know there was another falcon cam since Freida and Frodo! Thanks!
DEB!--Isn't FAVRE great!!
It is hard for me to cheer for Brett Favre, it still feels like he is the enemy. The more games he wins, maybe the easier it will get. lol
some of us watched this one last year, Sharon, it is harder to see the chicks till they get older
That's funny, Norma, he is a great quarterback, but after years of him being the enemy it is hard to switch.
28-14!
DEB!---Understand your feeling---but HE ISN'T YOUR 'ENEMY' NOW!!-I like watching him--He is a team player--& he is OLD!--39? ho!
Didn't know what kind you had, Lynn. Do take care of yourself.
Cancer definitely changes your life. It scares you, but it also makes you appreciate each day.
Till tomorrow,
Judie
For sure, Shirley---what doesn't kill us makes us stronger!! R-O-A-R!
So true, Lynn.
Good night, Judie. Sleep well!
Have to give grade reports again tomorrow.
Good night one and all. Peaceful slumber---eagle dreams. Prayers for all in need---ill, recovering, traveling, or lonely. And prayers of thankfulness for good friends. See you in the morning.
Night Judie - I am not far behind you.
Good Night All !
Prayers for everyone's wants/needs
Praying that Diann's surgery went well
Prayers of Thankfulness for Momster/Dadsters' safe travels.
((((hugs to all)))) ♥
Good night, Lynn. God bless.
I am about ready to call it a night as well.
See you tomorrow! Turning on the night light, etc.
Just in here long enough to tell all that there is a small gray fox on okie bird cam now
I couldn't find the Okie site fast enough, Crunch. Fox was gone by the time I got there:( I have a fondness for foxes...they are a beautiful animal!
Guess I will call it quits for tonight.
