The injury was really without any incidents that I don't know why it had to happen. Maybe it was while in the hospital I was made aware of paying attention to my blood sugar levels. The prolong use of prednisone and the trauma of the broken bones brought the subject up!
You know when I was looking for Open House info on the NCTC/USFWS website I saw that the Deer Hunt is scheduled for NCTC property again this year. I know that the food is given to those in need but I wish they would restrict the area AWAY from the nest. Maybe we should look at the dates and sign a petition and send to someone in charge.
Well, I go along with that, Jo! I c an't help but think that the hunting incident that took place the night Belle was probably trying to lay her egg, had something to do with no hatching.
I will always feel that the gun shot we heard and then we saw Belle fly up out of the nest to the branch was when she lost that first egg. Helen & I were watching and we both thought the same thing!
Welcome home Deb! Sorry about the phone. That is a pain. Hey. your home in time to see OK fledge. It should have happened by now, but we have a slow bloomer on our hands.
Jacob is sleeping in him mothers old room. Joseph is sleeping in Michael's. When they sleep together it takes longer for them to fall asleep. Jacob did not want to sleep in there. He said, with his arms crossed, "I very not want to sleep in here."
Second story is on Joseph. We had yummy bacon pasta for supper. Also, I had green beans for them to eat. Joseph did not want green beans. He said, "What about the sign by the front door? It says kids spoiled here." LOL I have a sign that my sister in law gave me that says "Grandma's house, kids spoiled here." I told him that taking him to Colorado next week, and the beach next months is spoiling grandkids. It does not include laying off the veggies.
Yes, Deb, having a great time. Tonight Michael came with Zach and spent the afternoon and had dinner. We had a great time with all three boys. They had a very good time at Rough Creek Lodge and then went to Fossil Rim, a wildlife park, before coming here.
I have to tell you, Zach is something else. His intelligence is sorta scary. He was three in February. Well, tonight he told us his telephone number, his dad's cell phone, his mom's cell phone, his Nana's home phone and cell phone number. That is amazing. I worry about him as his behavior is not quite normal, but I do know he is off the wall in intelligence.
Hi, I have been running around taking care of laundry and checking the messages. Wondered why nobody was saying anything before I realized there had been a split. Getting to be bedtime anyway. Three more days until summer vacation.
Sort of waiting for the dryer to finish up. We had a house fire a few years ago because of a dryer, so I don't like to sleep when it's going.
Don't use thouse plastic dryer hoses. They are not safe.
Yes, I read it! Four year olds are just precious. They do and say the funniest things! Yes, grandkids are just wonderful. At this time in our lives we can really appreciate how cute they are. I think when we are raising our own we did not have the time to sit back and get a good look at the whole picture.
I was trying to check out the OK cam but the wide view is off and the nest view is blinking on/off on/off.... Can't figure it out as nest looks MT. It was getting dark about an hour ago and the eaglet had laid down in the nest. I guess we'll know tomorrow in the light.
Deb It is down in Martinsburg/Hedgesville area WV. Some guy holding ex-girlfriend... with a gun... hopes for peaceful resolution. State police are there.. Margy knew about it before she had to go in to work.
I am ready to rest my head on my pillow! Glad you're home Deb - So sorry you have to go to work tomorrow! I'm sure you're really not ready to do that. Maybe they will give you a free cell phone !!!!
Jo, definitely think the petition is a good idea. As I hypothesized way back when we didn't have hatches....I think the shock of the gunshots caused a big adrenaline rush in Belle's system....the adrenaline penetrated the soft eggshells and killed the embryos. It's truly a miracle that Hidey was not affected, but (s)he was apparently in an earlier stage of development. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
Evening, all. Had a good day down at Mom's. Brothers and kids and everyone there, so we all went through dishes, stuff, etc.
I had been looking for my Mom's wedding ring and some other jewelry...couldn't find it for months. Finally found it today! We all laughed, it was hidden right under our noses!
Deb, so glad you are home safe and sound. Did Uncle Bob make it to the services? (if you answered that ?, I missed it!) Hope you get a good sleep in your own bed. Please, all continue to pray for my friend/former co-worker John. He is improving, but is still being kept in a medically induced coma. TY! Calling it a day---I am pooped--or slam wore out as Sissy says. Peace.
P.S. Hi Paula. Glad you had a good day. Jim and Andrea....heard the news about the tanker fire out there....we had one here a couple of days ago---interstate was shut down for like 12 hrs.! 8500 gallons of fuel! Luckily, no one hurt here. G'Night again.
Paula, I am so glad that you have a wonderful family to help with your Mom's things. It is such a hard thing to do, but with the right loving attitude it can be better experience.
My Uncle Bob didn't get to come. He decided that flying in and then back home was too much for one day. We were all worried about that, too. It would have been really nice to see him, but understood why he couldn't make it.
Nite all! Time to head to the shower. Tomorrow going to take the boys to Glen Rose to Dinosaur Valley State Park. Should be a great day IF we can tolerate the heat. Hope to get a faily early start.
Well Lolly, we have been trying to get things organized for months...finally to the point where it's pretty much done, so we all went through the house and took what we wanted... there are still some things to be taken out, then the rest will go to acution.
Paula, when my Dad died, Mom packed up his clothing and shoes and I gave them all to a few needy families, in person. I cried as I told the family that I hoped they would enjoy them. Never thought something like that would be so heart wrenching!
Ok, I have to tell this....Last Sunday, I forgot to take some comfy shoes to wear after church and feet hurt all day an night. Today, I remembered to take comfies and when I went to put them on, before going to the plant nursery, I discovered that I had two different shoes and were both the right foot. My blonde roots a showing again;)
LOL at this hour, Wanda! I love the two right shoes story!
Sounds like some very family times today, and good to know that Deb is back at her Roost...
Goig to check Finney nest now and Paula's video.... Nothing going on at our nest right now but a spider web and I think I hear a mockingbird. Hostage situation still in progress when I left work...not sure what the overall plan will be, but the Hedgesville High School is opened up the Red Cross to feed and shelter those who had to leave their homes and won't be able to return until this is over. Affected quite a lot of households.
Pretty funny over at NBG - somebody is apparently looking for the eaglets (who are not in the nest) by scanning the hillsides using the camera, zooming in a out on faraway trees. Interesting.
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!!!---WELCOME BACK DEB!!---We have MISSED you!---MORNIN'---MAGPIE--SISSY--STRONGHUNTER--& LORI!!!--Looking forward to another glorious day here in the WV HILLS--HOME OF BELLE & LIBERTY---Parents of the most BEAUTIFUL--INTELLIGENT--FUSSY--YELLING--ADORABLE EAGLET this side of the MISSISSIPPI--called---HEIDY aka MIRACLE!!----a day without her---is like a day without SUNSHINE!!---WE LOVE THE 'LITTLE IMP'!!!!!

Norma, Tom is doing very well, thanks for asking. No, we didn't go to the lake this weekend. Tom had to work and I took Mattie to Greensboro to see Taylor Swift. Me and her just rested yesterday and hung out around the house!
Yes Normabyrd it does ring a bell. I didn't even mention it on the blog yesterday but boy do I remember just like it was yesterday! Our precious Spunky's fledge! Boy I was a shaking fool when I was typing the details of that fledge! :)

Good morning! Was poked in the ribs at 7 this morning. Rolled over and there were two shining faces smiling at me. Ohhhhh!!!!!
We will be heading out shortly for Glen Rose and Dinosaur Valley State Park. There are real dinosaur tracks in the river bed and outside the park there is a commericial outfit that has over 100 dinosaur life size models, a dig, etc. Joseph has been there but this will be Jacob's first time. He is excited!
LORI---I wondered too---I haven't heard or seen her this am---I have been writing checks off & on!! SURELY SHE WOULD NOT LEAVE US & NOT SAY GOOD BYE????-----(yep! i bet she would)---LITTLE IMP!!
I'm not too sure about the halos, Norma. LOL I have to leave now and eat a bite of breakfast and get beautiful. Have two anxious boys on my hands. They are dressed and raring to go!!!!
Lori, we should still have a couple more weeks...Hidey is 14 weeks old...fledged for 3 weeks...but the visits to the nest will gradually be less and less.
Morning, everyone!
I hear ya on the sunshine Deb...we finally have had 3 nice days!
I haven't seen that the hostage situation in our county here has been resolved yet. Going on 24 hours pretty soon.
Headed out to get a start on the day...might pick up a fishing license and wet a few lines myself on these my days off. "Catch and Release" - mostly sticks and leaves ☺

GOOD MORNING YA'LL. another very hot day in GA. put out plants all weekend.Only could do a few and then rest, drink water and rest, before moving on.. soo hot and humid. Had Madison 9 and Ethan 6 this weekend, they were so good. they love outdoors and Ethan loves going to the "shop" with his papa. He always brings his play station with him. Told us Sat nite that he had not taken it out of his bag, cause he is just having too much fun.. LOL
Bet you guys thought I dropped off the face of the earth yesterday. I was stuck with my nose in a medical book almost all day yesterday-- studying for a test.
Today Hubby & I are going to Lake Arrowhead with SIL, to do something special for her-- tomorrow's her Birthday. Hubby took a vacation day today.
Still no word from Gavin's mom-- she probably got home late last night, and had to work today. Maybe tonight... MTBR...
Gosh, what's with all the big accidents lately? That tanker fire certainly was something! And then the Lakers fans went totally psycho, too! Just don't understand what gets into people sometimes. What could they have been thinking?
May not be back here until late tonight-- have a Keyboard class at 5 pm. Hope everyone has a great Monday; prayers being said for all. Take care! Tell Hidey I'm sorry I missed her! :o]
Good Monday Morning on Our Sunday Thread To Everyone. It is going to be another beautiful day... I have read your comments & it's good to see all of you! Was happy to say Hi to Deb last evening! Want to go see Paula's video of the 3 osprey chicks.
The normal clutch of eggs for all species of flamingo is one. Very rarely are two eggs laid, and it is thought that when this occurs, two different females may be involved. Egg measurements and weights vary widely between individuals, but on average, they weigh 140 grams (five ounces) and measure 90 x 55 millimeters (about 3.5 x 2 inches). Immediately after laying, the egg is pure white with a chalky texture. Soon after, however, the egg is often marked with mud from the nest site. Chicks enter the air cell at day 26, followed by pipping at day 27. Hatching generally occurs two days after the chick has entered the air cell
No Offsprings at the Vetschau Stork Eyrie After further daily observations of the behaviour of Cico and Luna, we have to conclude sadly, that there are no more stork chicks at the Internet eyrie at Vetschau. No feeding and the combined absence of both parent storks points with certainty to this conclusion. It is most regretable.
Two of the dropped chicks will be brought on June 12th to the Institute for Animal Pathology of the Free University of Berlin. There they will be examined for the probable cause of death. As soon as the results of the investigation are available they will be made known. The assumption that the cause is again aspergillosis is very possible. in general, our white stork caregivers rule out food scarcity and weather conditions because at other stork eyries of the vicinity such incidences have not been observed to this point during the raising of young stork.
Good afternoon all! I am winding down. Only two more chores to do, and then I can relax! Of course, they probably won't be in until after 8 tonight---they said NO DINNER, so won't cook today! Paula, checked my calendar and Hidey was 13 wks. Sat. Don't worry, momsters and dadsters...(s)he's still around and we'll see her again! By the way...was Spunky a late fledger, or was Hidey early?? As of noon hostage situation still going on. Daughters' friend who lives in development put on Facebook that the CRIMINAL had told police he "didn't mean to hurt her" and the police were getting ready to storm the house, but this was not mentioned on Ch. 25's noon news. Power and water have been turned off. Animal Control was escorted in to evacuated homes to feed and water pets. About time! Poor animals.
Which stork nest is that, Mits? Can you post a link....I have so many, and have not been paying very much attention. How's the beach weather, gal? Do you still have company? Hugs to Ceil, MM and Jim if they are still there....and, of course, a hug for you, too! ((( !!! )))
Hi Jim! Seeing is believing! I saw 6 little peering eyes yesterday to make a believer out of me! They really are healthy looking/acting. Hope they all make it this year.
OH, Hedgie...you are correct...was thinking our visit w/ Hidey was when he was 11 weeks old...it was when he was 10 weeks old....so Hidey has been flying for 2 weeks now.
There is software Digeus Registry Cleaner I always use it when there are problems with operational system. I also recommend Windows Tune Up Suite form Windsty. It is the smartest way to solve computer problems.

No, Jo, wasn't animal's eyes...to big and bright...more like a flashlight or motorcycle, or a UFO.
Good Lord knew that he really didn't have to Slow Me Down any more then age had already caught up with me! lol
If we think about it, Jo, those unpleasant things happen for a reason. Maybe it was to wake you up to the blood sugar.
I think we lost DEB and SHIRLEY.

No, I am here, just can't get off the phone.
Well, I go along with that, Jo! I c an't help but think that the hunting incident that took place the night Belle was probably trying to lay her egg, had something to do with no hatching.
Dang The split came and I just rolled right with it! I didn't see the last few comments on the previous sheet......
WELCOME HOME DEB
(((HUGS))) ♥
Pull the phone out of the wall, Deb:)
I will always feel that the gun shot we heard and then we saw Belle fly up out of the nest to the branch was when she lost that first egg. Helen & I were watching and we both thought the same thing!
I just know you are glad to be home, Deb...and so are we. Do you have to go to work tomorrow?
Almost time for Army Wives. BBL.
Taking a break TV
I'll be back to say good night ........

Okay, I am off the phone. I am ready to pull it out of the wall, Wanda!
I lost my cell phone in the Denver airport, long day, mad at myself.
Welcome home Deb! Sorry about the phone. That is a pain. Hey. your home in time to see OK fledge. It should have happened by now, but we have a slow bloomer on our hands.
Yes, I go to work tomorrow--yuck!
Are you having a fun time with the boys? I haven't read the blog to catch up yet.
Have two cute stories to tell.
Jacob is sleeping in him mothers old room. Joseph is sleeping in Michael's. When they sleep together it takes longer for them to fall asleep. Jacob did not want to sleep in there. He said, with his arms crossed, "I very not want to sleep in here."

Lolly, did you read Jo's account of watching her grandaughter at a recital this evening? What a cutie she must be:) Grandchildren are the greatest.

I think when we are raising our own we did not have the time to sit back and get a good look at the whole picture.
Good night, Wanda, Lolly, and Deb. I think I can stop the dryer now.
Hope it wasn't a UFO, Wanda. I just saw that.
One more thing . . . looks like the hostage situation is still going on.
Good night Shirley. Hang in there. Just three more days! Wahoo! Wait 'til retirement. It is the greatest!!!!
I was trying to check out the OK cam but the wide view is off and the nest view is blinking on/off on/off....
Can't figure it out as nest looks MT.
It was getting dark about an hour ago and the eaglet had laid down in the nest. I guess we'll know tomorrow in the light.
I am really out of touch, have to find out what hostage situation.
Deb It is down in Martinsburg/Hedgesville area WV.
Some guy holding ex-girlfriend... with a gun... hopes for peaceful resolution.
State police are there.. Margy knew about it before she had to go in to work.
It is here in Martinsburg, Deb...Man holding a woman hostage with a gun.
I am ready to rest my head on my pillow! Glad you're home Deb - So sorry you have to go to work tomorrow!
I'm sure you're really not ready to do that. Maybe they will give you a free cell phone !!!!
No wonder I couldn't find it on any of the news clips. I was looking through world news.
I am off to soak a little in the tub, then will check back in.
Good Night My Special Friends!
Peace to you and yours
Prayers for everyone's needs being said
((hugs)) ♥
Some nice person lit some candles for Mason in my name! Thank you!

Sweet dreams to all!
Paula, glad you found the rings! Now I really need to get in the tub.
Well Lolly, we have been trying to get things organized for months...finally to the point where it's pretty much done, so we all went through the house and took what we wanted... there are still some things to be taken out, then the rest will go to acution.
I am going to try to make a quick picture movie of Finney nest today and the feeding of the 3 chicks...
Sent Suz a couple of pics. Hmmm maybe I'll put them in Picasa instead...
Paula, when my Dad died, Mom packed up his clothing and shoes and I gave them all to a few needy families, in person. I cried as I told the family that I hoped they would enjoy them. Never thought something like that would be so heart wrenching!
Night everyone!

Sounds like some very family times today, and good to know that Deb is back at her Roost...

Super Video, Paula !
No doubt there are three little hungry tykes at Finney's !!
Watching for a sighting now for real, and I see Nest News is updated to show hatch occurred on June 13 - exact same hatching schedule as last year! ☺
Good Night...
Finney chicks not giving up a view at this hour...so, something to look forward to "in the morning."
No change in the standoff...
no resolution yet. Prayers that all will be safe

Good morning eagle buds!! Getting this day started, early and all!!
I don't see Hidey in the nest this morning. There are zebras at Pete's Pond.
I think I keep hearing Hidey above the cam, but I am not sure.
Good morning! I hear Hidey.
Getting ready for work. Will check in again later.
Hi Sissy.
Pretty funny over at NBG - somebody is apparently looking for the eaglets (who are not in the nest) by scanning the hillsides using the camera, zooming in a out on faraway trees. Interesting.

I have been here since 4:30 and haven't seen her.
Good morning! Was poked in the ribs at 7 this morning. Rolled over and there were two shining faces smiling at me. Ohhhhh!!!!!
We will be heading out shortly for Glen Rose and Dinosaur Valley State Park. The fluff thief is in the nest again.
Hmmmm. We heard Hidey earlier around the camera- couldn't see her though.
How long is it after they branch and fledge that they stop coming back . . . Because, I think he should still be in fishing school!
Hi KIDS---Is our commuter stuck--or did everyone go back to bed??
just checkin'---
I'm still here Norma.
Ain't gone back to bed yet Norma, but the thought has crossed my mind a couple of times!!
I'm still here Norma - but where is Hidey???
Good Morning Eagle Friends
Suzanne is indeed thrilled about the Osprey chicks at Finney's, and has seen them with her own eyes, as I finally did just a few minutes ago.
Hidey is giving us the slip so far I take it this morning? Great day for fishing...guess he is in Summer School as Wanda used to say last year.
Hope everyone has a great day...
Prayers for Wellness today, and every day.
xox
Have a good sleep, Margy!

Good Monday Morning, Everyone!
MAGPIE---I am glad you got the wax---last time I mentioned it--I got into deep dodo!!---ho!

How are the flamingos doing this morning?
I would loved to have seen the flamingos building their 'mud' nest.
Really are a lot of them now that they did a wide view!
feeding at FINNEY'S NEST
Incubation
I have a lunch date---later!---Keep an EYE out for our 'BABY'--Bet SHE is LURKING---ho!
I wonder what date the majority of the Flamingo's eggs were laid. I sometimes forget to check on them not kowning the date that they could hatch.
Fish jerky in the nest at BWE :)
It it's not, it will be soon!
wild watch bluebird, as laid another egg.

Hidey is eating behind the smudge...can't see what it is...didn't see arrival.
Hidey keeps looking up and around.
Thank you Paula for the Hidey alert! :)
Your very welcome!

Thanks Paula, been looking for that little booger since 4:30 this morning!!

Kewll, OK eaglet floated down into nest...parent took off quickly!
Hugo's stork nest is a no go this year.....
11.06.2009
No Offsprings at the Vetschau Stork Eyrie
After further daily observations of the behaviour of Cico and Luna, we have to conclude sadly, that there are no more stork chicks at the Internet eyrie at Vetschau.

Eaglet at BWE
OK not eating the fish...close up cam working on & off for me.
OK eaglet did eat some....fish is pretty much headless!
I really think the stork's nest should be taken down entirely!. Let Cico and Luna try a new nest! That is so sad.
yes, think that nest should be condemned

It should absolutely, without any doubt, be torn down! THAT NEST IS DEFINITE DEATH FOR THE BABIES EVERY TIME!
Did I holler loud enough?
Finney is going to feed chicks, AND I think I see three little heads there for the first time...

YES SHARON
I HEARD YOU LOUD & CLEAR OVER HERE IN MARYLAND
Thanks Lynn for the Hostage update. I think it has gone on too long and unless they have talked to the hostage herself - they need to get in there!
Finney is feeding the oldest now, and the other two are to the right side.

Bob
Hi Jim! Seeing is believing! I saw 6
little peering eyes yesterday to make a believer out of me! They really are healthy looking/acting. Hope they all make it this year.
New thread, come on over!
OH, Hedgie...you are correct...was thinking our visit w/ Hidey was when he was 11 weeks old...it was when he was 10 weeks old....so Hidey has been flying for 2 weeks now.
Waiting for you all
Come on over to the new thread
Great news from Bob
YEAH BOB!!!!!!
There is software Digeus Registry Cleaner I always use it when there are problems with operational system. I also recommend Windows Tune Up Suite form Windsty. It is the smartest way to solve computer problems.
