Good morning Deb and Norma! So glad the blog is working again! Won't be here to play with y'all until this evening. Getting ready to head out to make the cemetery run to DC. Raining here again! Crazy world: the guy who killed the ex-girlfriend here last weekend was taken to ER for a suicide attemot last evening---he tried to escape and the correctional officer shot him in the ER. he was airlifted to Winchester for surgery....nothing yet on his status. What a mess. Hope everyone has a good day! Talk to you tonight.
Good morning. I have been looking at those trees at the Finney nest and wondering if there was any green there. They do have a short growing season, don't they?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEST VIRGINIA!!!! Let us CELEBRATE today!!----JUNE 20, 1863--- You can GOGGLE WV BIRTHDAY & hear John Denver's 'COUNTRY ROADS'---ho! I have heard that BLUEFIELD SHARON is planning to sing 'THE WEST VIRGINIA HILLS' (wv st song) for all of us today!!!----YOU GO SHARON!!!
MORNIN' HEDGIE & SHIRLEY---HEDGIE pray you & your guests stay DRY!-We have had rain this am & forecasting off & on all day!-----NO CALL yet for RELAY FOR LIFE day!!---
Looks like it's raining at the nest, and I think it's headed this way. The bunny may get lost in the grass in my backyard, but at least the front and sides are done.
SHIRLEY if you look 'REALLY' close-----you can see a wee bit of green--ho!---They had some sort of a storm there earlier this season---we were told earlier---we would not be able to watch the nest this season!!---That could be some of the problem---
I think there are green trees in the distance...they are probably evergreens. The ones closer up do seem to have a wee bit of green. A cold snap after the trees start to leaf out would kill the ftender first growth and delay the greening. I saw that happen once when we lived in Ohio.
Shirley, FINNEY'S NEST cam was fixed rather quickly after it was down...it is the FINLAND NEST that we may not see for the season, I have posted the translation of the problem with that nest on the blog before, if I get a chance I will do it again.
INFORMATION! 23.5.2009 thunder broke the nest camera. Patch can not be performed without disturbing pesintää, so the picture is broadcast katkolla until the chicks ring in June and July, the turn. Chicks expected to hatch in early June.
We have been watching this nest because the sea eagles take over when the osprey are not there, also see hooded crows, much more active then FINNEY'S NEST.
guess we can call Hidey a juvie now, he just pulled a second fish over to eat....I never see the barber pole running til I have timed out, this is unusual
Now More showers and thunderstorms developing across the Appalachians will move eastward across the Allegheny and Potomac Highlands... eastern West Virginia Panhandle and Shenandoah Valley during the morning hours. Thunderstorms will bring lightning strikes and heavy downpours at times. Rainfall accumulations to an inch is possible in the vicinity of heavier thunderstorms through 10 am...which will cause ponding on the roads and in low lying areas.
Today Showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 80s. South winds around 5 mph...increasing to west 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph this afternoon. Weather... partly sunny this morning...then becoming mostly cloudy. A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 80s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
Surf conditions... average wave height in the surf zone...2 to 3 ft. Other surf conditions...none. Surf temperature 72 degrees. The UV index today is 5...which is moderate. Ocean City tides for today... low tide 1144 am. High tide 614 PM.
Norma thank you for the prayers and that goes for EVERYONE thank you please keep them up.
Today and tomorrow he finally gets to rest with no appointments. He can sit on the couch with his legs up and read his book and watch tv.
When we have to go to appointments. Oxygen tanks are taking a toll on both of us. Makes my arms and hands hurt badly even though they feel light. With him not being right here at home where he is connected to the concentrator has been trying and tiring.
More to be revealed at appointment on Monday and Tuesday.
SHIRLEY---I have a 'wabbit' story too----I have always had rabbits--The other day looking out the window -- saw this little bunny lying on her side-- all stretched out on the side of drive!!--I WAS READY TO KILL!!!---(neighborhood cats)---went storming out-----as I approached the rabbit----she sat up & just looked at me!!----(was sure she was dead)---- ho!
Oh NORMA your 9:07am todays comment is so "funny".
Mits your company just wants to be with you and not DC.
Hummm comment about the guy that killed is ex-girlfriend being shot. I'll have to think that on over. Sorry for his family. Won't say no more about what I feel about him. "Zip mouth on him".
Great to see Hidey to start this Saturday... seems to be a rarity for me these days. Noisy little thing this morning too! Hope everyone has a nice day :)
MORNIN' PAULA---When I tried to get on the blog this am---I thought I was going to lose it!!---POURING RAIN & NO PUTER!!---ho!--'LIFE WAS "NOT" GOOD'----then BEAUTIFUL DEB came on---she is on the river this am!---
Norma, I guess it was just napping. When we had a house in a grove of oak trees, we would sometimes look out and see a squirrel sleeping on the deck rail, just lying there with legs hanging down, but you wouldn't think a rabbit would be so relaxed.
I have another rabbit story. Our next door neighbors had a pet rabbit who was the most aggressive bunny I have ever seen. It would growl and bite and scratch. It would come after you. Really!
It bit my little beagle on the nose. After that, Snoopy was afraid of that bunny. Smart dog. Snoopy was a polite little guy. He did like to chase cats, but he would not mess with that bunny.
I don't know if you remember when President Carter encountered a growling rabbit swimming towards his boat and chased it away. Lots of people laughed, but I can tell you that some rabbits can be aggressive.
SHIRLEY---a couple of years ago--a rabbit was lying on his side in front of my kitchen window (level with ground)---was so scared--called my daughter---WHAT TO DO!---same thing--woke up--hopped away---
Good morning! Boy, that was frustrating not being able to get on last night. Went to bed without telling you good night!! Made me think about how important this blog is to me. With out it, I loose all my wonderful friends.
Our dinner out was fantastic. This morning Jack is fixing sausage and waffles. Happy Anniversary to us!!!
JO.....sounds like your day yesterday with family was just awesome. Love that family lots while they are here!
BOB......after reading your Bunny Blog I decided you have too much time on your hands. LOL
I felt sorry for Jimmy Carter when that happened. If you haven't seen an evil bunny, you can't understand. I would not think they could growl, but this one could. Cute little white bunny. The family loved him. I didn't like him so much.
19 June: Recently fledged Bald Eagles are often at a higher than optimal weight for flying, and they may have little interest in or need for food. They might only eat something every other day, so it can be easy to miss seeing a meal. The eaglet continues to do well
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LOLLY!---I remarked yesterday---that you folks were married on WEST VIRGINA'S BIRTHDAY!---So I will always remember the date!!---How was your dinner last night?---Sounded so COOL!!---when do you all head to AZ?----
Wanda, we are home. We do not leave until Monday. I will not be getting on the blog as we will be in the mountains, also no hookups.
It is our 44th, married June 20, 1965, at 4:00 on a Sunday, Father's Day. Going to a family wedding tomorrow, another Fathers's Day wedding! The father of the groom is performing the wedding. He is my cousins son. He also married my two children. He does fantastic wedding services, full of joy!!
Morning all. Norma my son is doing the relay for life in Oregon this morning. Shirley we had a rabbit and I heard it growl. We had to take it to the children's zoo. Morning sister. Lolly and Jack HAPPY ANNIVERSARY.
I had several rabbits as pets when I was a kid. We used to let them run around outside in our yard. We had a cage for them on the carport where they could go for protection. Also had food and water in there.
My one bunny, appropriately named Bun Bun, used to chase dogs our of our yard! He was fearless! Chased a german shepherd down the street, nipping at his back heels. The owner called my Mom and said she wanted her to pay for the vet bills. Mom said "Your dog shouldn't have been off his leash and in our yard (they lived on the next street over). So my Mom said "OK we'll go to court. You bring your big german shepherd and I'll bring my little bunny and we'll see who wins!" As you can see, my Mom didn't take any crap from anybody!
We are going to buy a new TV for the trailer as our anniversary present. However, on this trip we are not taking a TV. I will take the computer. On the way up there and on the way home we may be at RV parks where I can get on.
We had lots of rabbits when I was growing up. (It is easy to get lots of rabbits if you start with a pair.) We had no growling ones. They were all sweet and quiet.
Paula, I love your German shepherd story! I would like to see a bunny chasing a German shepherd down the street--at least I think I would.
There is a hospital close to us that has in the middle an enclosed area that is outdoors, a big area. It is full of rabbits! Pictures of rabbits with their names are posted by the door going out to this area. Also the rules for the area. I took the boys one time. They loved it!

well we were ALL having trouble getting on the blog last night, wonder what the BIG glitch was about...GOOD MORNING EVERYONE
I think there are green trees in the distance...they are probably evergreens. The ones closer up do seem to have a wee bit of green. A cold snap after the trees start to leaf out would kill the ftender first growth and delay the greening. I saw that happen once when we lived in Ohio.
Norma, I certainly could sing it as I do know the words! :)
♫♫♪♫"OH THE WEST VIRGINIA HILLS, HOW MAJESTIC, OH HOW GRAND,

MORNIN' MITS!----I was about to 'LOSE IT' this am---when I couldn't get on the BLOG!!----ho!

Wonder if a bird can get heartburn from so much agitation while eating?
