Thanks Steve. I gather up the rest of them.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Thanks Red, did you see Lib and Belle?

Red said...

Yes Sissy, Just got to see Belle before she left. Then I had to read all about the road trip to New Orleans last night. The late night ladies are getting fisty. lol

Red said...

Coffee is good this morning but now I need breakfast. Biscuits are in the oven. BBL

hedgie said...

Morning Red and Sissy! Can I come for breakfast, Red? What goes with the biscuits?? Sausage gravy, maybe?
Sissy, glad you are feeling better. Sciatica is a killer...that has been plaquing Margy lately, too. You HAVE had a heck of a year....things have to get better for our Bluefield girls!

hedgie said...

HAving a bit of trouble getting up our cam...hmmmmm. Will keep trying.

NatureNut said...

Pooey! I didn't think to look at nest earlier--thought it was too dark. :>(

Morning All!

Costume Lady said...

Good Morning Sissy and Red...
I missed our visit, darn!
The wind is VERY fierce here right now. Suppose to be 45-50 MPH most of the day...may not see much of Lib and Belle. Watch the Bourbon Street Cam, when you have time. It was quite a treat last night;)

NatureNut said...

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE!

I see the road trips got embellished after I left last night! Went to NO the Day of Mardi Gras, but got out of town before evening! It is bedlam. Daughter & SIL were in Mobile then. We went to many of their parades---good & not as rowdy. They hold parades every day for week or 2 before MG.

Costume Lady said...

Good morning Lynn. Here is the link to New Orleans (Bourbon St.) It is best viewed at night...not much going on right now.

Costume Lady said...

Lucky you, Loretta. One day, I will go to the Mardi Gras parade:)

NatureNut said...

More coffeee & get ready for work
Later ;>)

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Boy, it sure is windy in Shepherdstown this morning.

hedgie said...

Yes, Wanda, I was on last night and saw the N.O. cam action! IS the Eagle Express ready for a Feb. road trip?? LOL!

Costume Lady said...

TRY THIS:

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I have always said I would love to go to Mardi Gras!! Maybe one of these days!!

Costume Lady said...

The Eagle Express is soooo ready to go somewhere, that it shakes when we walk by it. LOL

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Maybe Margy can give me some tips about this sciatica thing. It is really hard to sit and type, hurts down my leg like crazy!! Wonder if the wreck could have caused this??

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I had to mute the sound on our cam so I could hear the doctor's voice. It is really windy. It is windy here too but I don't think it is that bad. Of course, I don't have the sound of it whistling through my head from outside here.

Mits said...

GOOD NEW YEARS EVE EVERYONE....:)

hedgie said...

They just said on the news that the new "in" phrase for the coming year is...tada...."It is what it is"...WE knew that already, didn't we, gang?

floralgirl said...

Hello all:) Gonna be a wild weather day here-
High Wind Warning in effect for the Baltimore Metro area from 9 am to 10 PM... A strong cold front will continue to move across the mid Atlantic region today. Wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph will accompany this frontal passage this morning across ridges and higher elevations of the central Shenandoah Valley this morning. Gusts of 40 to 50 mph are expected across north central Maryland...northern Virginia...the northern Shenandoah Valley...and the DC Metro area. By mid morning...the front will be located near the Chesapeake Bay...and will bring wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph to the Baltimore Metro area. Gusty winds will continue through much of the day as the pressure gradient will remain tight.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

And it is our last day watching little Luney!! I am grieving so!!

Red said...

Well I have been on Burbon Street druing Mardi Gras and I'm glad to be alive to tell about it. I would never go again. I was young then and really had a good time but it's sure not a place to be if you cannot stand for hours with partying drunks. lol I'll watch it on TV now, thank you. lol

Mits said...

Darn, missed the party last night. I have only been to NO once, back in the 90's. We were there for the national football championship, it was Florida against Florida State...love Cafe Du Mode for their beignets and also love muffaletta sandwiches....

Mits said...

I use earthcam.com all the time, you can go all over the world to watch cams:)

Red said...

Hedgie, this morning its just sausage and biscuits. Some mornings I have sausage gravy and some mornings just biscuits and bacon. Sometimes biscuits and Sorghum Syrup. But almost always I have biscuits.

hedgie said...

Oh, my, wind is terrible!!

hedgie said...

Bisquits w/ ANY accompaniment are good, Red!!
Sissy, best medical advice I can give is anti-inflammatories, AND--which will make it difficult to work--lie flat on your back with your legs elevated, bent at knee as if you were sitting in a straight chair, and moist heat!

carolinabeachmom said...

Right now we have 55 degrees with wind out of the SW, bringing me the smells of Red's breakfast, but you people will be sending your cold front and winds to us by this afternoon when it changes to the NW, they are afraid of it having a drying effect on our land. NO BURNING!! but the someone always thinks that they know what they are doing.

carolinabeachmom said...

Good moning NORMA. You better not get any breakfast from RED, as I could smell it carried on the SW inds at my house and never got any. :) Did you say LOLLY's on Friday? :(

hedgie said...

George must be a joke from before I joined you all!! I take it he was a squirrel who invaded someone's nest??

hedgie said...

Morning Norma, Candy and Helen! Hang onto your hats!! Flurrying here like crazy now!!

normabyrd said...

MORNIN' HELEN---Any new update on CEIL & MM?----I had checked the OREGON nest yesterday & the only snow was on the nest---area around it was bare!!---Wish them safe traveling!

Turkey walking around on snowman cam this morning.

Mits said...

George was the squirrel that destroyed the KENT nest...

carolinabeachmom said...

HEDIGE I sure wish you would send some of those flurries (I said flurries) down my way. I just love it when it first comes down, so quiet, peaceful and white. It is the shoveling, driving and changing made plans I can do without.

I'll let Helen tell you about our George. :)

Mits said...

MM and Ceil will be heading back east on Saturday, they are having a nice visit.

carolinabeachmom said...

I see she already has. Boos go out to George.

Going to be a long day with fingers crossed that the power stays on. Wind gusts are fierce, averaging 25-30 mph.

Red said...

Here is a cute song by a woman who I think kinda looks like Paula. I love the song.

English

Mits said...

good song, Red....you would hate to live where I live.....can't even go to a McDonalds' and have someone understand you:(

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

If it ain't one thing, it's two!! This is the first time I have ever had any kind of back trouble. And I thought it was my hip and leg, not my back. Doesn't hurt in my back, just down my leg like no stopping!! But it could be so much worse. We are doing just fine!!

Mits said...

I think our electricity is gonna go, can hear transformer noises in the neighbor hood

Red said...

It's getting that way here and everywhere else I think. And the song is right. When I call my bank the first thing I have to do is press "1" for English. Thats just not right.

Red said...

Sissy, You have had more than your share of pain this year. I wish there was something I could do to help. Maybe 2009 will be a much better year for you and your family.

hedgie said...

Sissy, the sciatic nerve branches off from the spinal canal....impingement, inflammation, swelling, and even degenerative arthritis can cause it to act up and hurt like h....there are even instances, called old-fashioned "milk leg" where it can come from childbirth (being in stirrups for a prolonged period)!! But, yes, it could be a result of the wreck. If not better soon, see dr. for an MRI!

Mits said...

beautiful sunset in Finland

hedgie said...

Megan, as funny as they can be, I hate squirrels....they are so destructive!

magpie said...

Good Morning Everyone...
December and 2008 are going to go out like Lion !
Wind is going to make for a busy time at work tonight, on top of it being New Year's Eve :(

Sissy: Sorry to hear of the Sciatica pain, and I would say it sure could be related to your accident...so get it checked out as soon as you can. There are several good stretching excercies someone - a physical therapist or chiropractor - should be able to coach you through. That helps, some, and getting lots of rest, if possible. When I have an episode of it it totally zaps my energy.

Well, I hope everyone can avoid having to be out in the weather today. Hope the Southern skies will be clear for the Moon and Planets show tonight.

TTFN - have to go out in the weather now :(

xo

hedgie said...

Candy, the way it's blowing, you may end up with flurries before the day is done!

hedgie said...

Mits, hoping that Ceil, Jim and MM have a better trip coming home than they had going out!!

hedgie said...

Margy, you better use a tether when you go out....you are so tiny you might blow away, and we sure couldn't stand that!

floralgirl said...

Wow-just took the dog out-wind gust of 37 mph and flurries coming down sideways. Have to go to get kid a haircut...hate to go out in this, but I must.
As for 2008-I can't wait to see it go, financially devastating year for us- hope 2009 is better for us-but things ain't looking to rosy yet.. Later- hold onto your hats!!

normabyrd said...

MORNIN' MEGAN!!---I am not fond of squirrels either!!----ho!----If our electric didn't go out last night---you are safe!---The wind about blew my house off the hill!!---It almost sounded as loud as our nest does at times!!---

Mits said...

I hoping so too, Lynn....

Mits said...

2 eagles at foggy WE

deb said...

Good morning, everyone. It is -2 here this morning, wasn't forecast to get that cold.

carolinabeachmom said...

Good morning MARGY. Sorry to hear that you have to work tonight. What a night to be there. You will be kept busy, that is for sure. Sometimes at Christmas and New Years and Thanksgiving, people would bring in a bunch of food for the 911 operators to eat, so they could celebrate too.

carolinabeachmom said...

Brrrr DEB and a cold good morning to you.

normabyrd said...

MORNIN' DEB!----WOW!---Now that's cold!---It's a WARM 31° here now!--We are supposed to get FRIGID weather here tonight!!!-----Do you let your dogs out in that weather??

carolinabeachmom said...

I hope she has coats for them NORMA. :) Boots too, so their feet don't stick to the sidewalk.:) Too cold for me.

hedgie said...

Suzanne sent out email, so guess that means she is at work...told her to hang tight to the steering wheel going home!

normabyrd said...

Any news from your Uncle this am?---Keeping him in my thoughts & prayers!!!

Mits said...

THEY ARE HANGING ON TIGHT

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Wind is gonna blow em out of the nest!! Good morning Deb.

normabyrd said...

Mits said...

NO Lynn it will go out...

Mits said...

Lib is smart, sitting down

hedgie said...

Is cam frozen? That loving gaze seems to be lasting a long-g-g time!!

carolinabeachmom said...

WOW You can all thank me for the eagles as I just left to get something to munch on. Those poor things are having a terrible time fighting the wind. They should turn around.

Mits said...

she is hanging on, look at her talons dug in

hedgie said...

Nope...guess it's just not refreshing too fast! Aren't they loverly?

carolinabeachmom said...

The nest should give them better shelter from the wind than just sitting on a branch I would think.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Not flurrying anymore here. It is bonafide snowing now!

deb said...

Norma ,the are both mixes, Sam is part lhasa apso and Abbie is part shih tzu.

floralgirl said...

Too windy for the hanky-panky! Lib will blow away!!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Little mating action happening in the nest! And THERE IS OUR LUNEY!

Mits said...

typical male....lol

hedgie said...

Strange that the color is so much better on still cam than live, isn't it?

floralgirl said...

Well, I wish we could get that pop up cam cenered in the pic...

Mits said...

looks like he wants to try again..

normabyrd said...

OMG!---The wind makes turns him on!!---WHOA!!----'DIFFERENT STROKES FOR DIFFERENT FOLKS'----

hedgie said...

Nest is really rockin'...making me seasick!! LOL!

Mits said...

I can never get that pop-up centered, never use it

paula eagleholic said...

Did ya'll see that?

normabyrd said...

I hope SHARON got to see them in the windy nest!---Reminds me of SPUNKY holding on when the WIND WAS BLOWING & RAIN WAS POURING DOWN!!---she hung on!!

hedgie said...

Megan, if you hold control and turn mouse wheel back a bit, it will center it better...even tho' it does make it a bit smaller!
Sorry your year has been so bad...will pray for better luck for you for 2009...perpetual farming conundrum, huh?

paula eagleholic said...

I was wondering why his beak was open, but no sound was coming out!! Then, wham bam!

normabyrd said...

OH YEAH PAULA!!---Love your AVATAR!

floralgirl said...

Thanks, quite used to the tight farming funds, it's the collapse of the housing industry that has thrown us into a freefall. Hubby lost his job last Thanksgiving. We are living on love..... gotta run-later:)

Mits said...

HE IS A SILENT LOVER;)

Mema Jo said...

It sure seems like all the nest are getting a lot of bonding with their couples this season - earlier than the last couple of seasons!
Scares me that it hasn't snowed yet around here!

Good Morning

hedgie said...

QUICK... look at Lil Luney and Lun!!!

hedgie said...

Sissy...yoo-hoo Sissy!!! Look!!!

normabyrd said...

----THANK YOU MAM'!

Mits said...

MORNING, JO

hedgie said...

WIsh we could capture that!!

carolinabeachmom said...

I think either Luney wants Mom to stop eating so he can get a little nourishment or he would like her to give him a little.

Mits said...

you party girl, you.....getting those beads....

hedgie said...

Can't tell for sure whether he's nursing, or playing with the bamboo!!

Mits said...

he is nursing, pandas have 4 tits

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I think a little of both!! Oh Lord, he is absolutely beautiful!!

Mits said...

now he is headed to the upper ones.

floralgirl said...

Then they should get lots of beads in NO!! oops, I'm gone...

carolinabeachmom said...

Hey Mom, it's my turn. Come on.

hedgie said...

Guess I better go get ready. Can't believe that this is my last view of our little one....but what a great view it was! And a great visit by our resident eagles! Good morning all around, despite the wind!!!
Talk to you all this evening. Stay safe.

paula eagleholic said...

Belle still hanging in there....Lib has been gone...

carolinabeachmom said...

Way to go Belle! That is one strong determined bird. She is staying on the job of holding the nest together in the winds. :)

normabyrd said...

DEB!---Your dogs are adorable!!--Bet they are mischievous too!!

Mits said...

poof....

deb said...

Norma, my dogs are 14 now, past mischievous.

paula eagleholic said...

Belle flew the coop

carolinabeachmom said...

Hey NORMA, if your birthday is close at hand, you can ask for a soft, cuddly, stuffed bear that you could keep beside you. That would work and they don't have to be fed or anything.

Mits said...

it is snowing like crazy here, and lights are blinking,,,will try to get shower and dry hair before light go out

carolinabeachmom said...

Awwwwww

normabyrd said...

CANDY!----That's what my youngest grand-daughter received instead of a doll!!----I haven't seen it but she was attempting to tell me all the things her "PANDA" does!!!---She corrected me when I referred to the BEAR---It's a PANDA!!!!

carolinabeachmom said...

Luney says that he wants to lay now. LOL I wonder who will win the battle. I think Mom is hoping to get him fed and then asleep.

normabyrd said...

Bye HEDGIE!---I have to get off too!---lady who helps me is coming----didn't really want her to but---
maybe later!---

carolinabeachmom said...

She is right NORMA. We learn that in Kindergarten. Maybe someone should warn your great grandaughter that you are looking for a soft cuddly panda. :)

carolinabeachmom said...

NORMA I stand corrected. See what b eing off school a few days will do to ones mind. It is a Panda.

normabyrd said...

CANDY---She has been putting him in the hammock!---to get him to sleep!----That little IMP sleeps most of the time!!---He has a good teacher!---ho!

carolinabeachmom said...

NORMA I still find it hard to believe that they are turning their cam off the Pandas. What a shame.

NatureNut said...

WOW! We've had a bout of snow flurries here at Largo office! I didn't see that on the weather??!!
Before I got out of my driveway at home, a big tree branch from 2 houses down fell into the road. Missed me!

carolinabeachmom said...

That poor little fuzz ball. He looks like he is being led to the slaughter.

carolinabeachmom said...

Glad you made it safely to work, LORETTA. Be careful on the drive home too.

NatureNut said...

Poor Little Luney! He's getting dragged all over the yard.

Costume Lady said...

Oh, that was priceless... Lun, dragging Luney off the log:):)

NatureNut said...

Thx Candy. Now the sun is out--go figure!I parked away from a couple trees. Mostly open fields here---pwind really blows thru.Maybe the power will go out!!!LOL

carolinabeachmom said...

Poor little thing. If he didn't have all that fur, he would really have skinned up knees by now.

NatureNut said...

Awwww-he fall down, go boom.

Red said...

I think the camera operator for Luney needs some lessons or needs to wake up.

Mits said...

Drag, drag, drag, your panda, gently cross the floor.....

Red said...

Maybe I'm just too critical. I was a TV camera operator years ago before Video tape and everything was live.

Mits said...

if you go to earthcam.com, you can take the world tour and see cities getting ready for new years' eve...

Costume Lady said...

I guess that's all folks...for now.

carolinabeachmom said...

I'm with you RED.. Especially on our last day of viewing.

paula eagleholic said...

CUB UPDATE........

Wednesday, December 31
Xi Lan has been trying to climb over the threshold between the dens for the past week or so. Tuesday evening I saw him finally make it over into Den 3 from Den 2! It will probably take a few days before he can climb from den to den with ease, but he is almost there. I cannot believe how fast he is growing. It seems like he learned to walk overnight and now he is already learning to move from den to den! I agree with Dr. Snyder that this age is the cutest time for giant panda cubs. It is fascinating to watch them learn and discover things. For months, all the cub knows about the world is its mother, but once it becomes mobile, the world opens up. Everything is new and must be explored. It is a very exciting time!

Xi Lan was also weighed yesterday before he went out to meet his adoring fans. He weighed 6.6 kg.

MOOSECAM UPDATE FOR DEC.31 ST......

Just the cow and her calf have been here since Sunday. Primo, Alfalfa and a single cow were here Saturday evening but left sometime that night. There was another cow here yesterday morning but all I saw was her rear end as the mother cow chased her off. Don’t know if any one will be back. Once they are gone for more than 48 hrs they don’t tend to return

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Oh yeah, wanted to give ya'll an update on our little dachshund. He is getting hair on his back now and doing really good. Chasing the cat around the house, barking at everything. Can really tell he hasn't been around alot of people or activity in his life. So our rowdy family is flipping him out but he is adapting more and more and he loves it here.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Just saw a pile of Gobblers at Pix PA and the male cardinals have been there a lot today too. So pretty to see that color on the otherwise rather drab view, also like it when the Blue Jays show up.

Very windy, all right, hope we don't lose power, telephone, Internet! and this communication link.

Thought I was going to see a Snow Bow this morning, snowing hard and sun shining..

OUR NEST tree sure is swaying with the breeze....good thing the nest weighs as much as it does....a ton yet?

Have to stop playing and get a nap in before work tonight, so this could be IT for 2008 for me. But I will be checking in before I go to work...and one last look at Baby Panda...

Congratulations Mason for waking up in 2008 !!

Happy New Year, Everyone. Thanks for all the fun, friendship and support. xoxo ♥ ♥

It seems like he's growing awfully fast, but I guess it's partly owing to the fact they only weigh him a couple of times a week now.

And I found this also posted on the CHIL forum!

"Here's a tidbit of news I recently heard for those stressing over the end of the panda cam. Rumor has it that....."

Supposedly there is a contract for showing the cam with Earthlink all but done...we will know probably after the Holidays if it's a go. Keep your talons and claws crossed for good news!!!
