I don't know what it is, Bob. Have heard everyone talk about it...it was some joke before the poop-shoot facials started! Jo or Wanda or Mits can explain!! Sharon, how are you doing? Hope the weather improves before you have to head back to UVA Th.!
Snow seems to have stopped here in the valley. All is White! Our nest is looking as though the birds have been marching around! Mits caught a really good pic of them in the nest..
The wax....Oh, boy, that's a loaded question... Just outside cleaning up the drive-snow has stopped here, dog loves it, had to bring him in, he looks like one tiny snowball.. teen said not enough to venture out in. Nice pictures, Bob:) love the close up of the heron.
ROFLMBO I was so hoping to ignore you, Bob. Thanks alot Red but you hit it right on the head! It was an email joke of Waxing of Hair Removal on Legs which I think I have long discarded... Believe me it was before we had Dadsters! We made a game of it & Sharon was the Wax Queen because she always seemed to be able to get Comment #100 or #200 or #300 & that got you so many pounds of WAX - Vicky & Glo got lots of wax in order to slide into WV for the Open House 2 years ago. It was just a fun thing for the bloggers to do when the nest was MT & we needed something to occupy our minds. NOW YOU KNOW THE STORY!!
Was at the moose cam comments - I remember Mits that you got a pic of Pook in what I thought was a bobcat... She said: That’s an ASV machine, a little bigger than a bobcat. Sometimes it’s the only safe way for me to get up to the hay manger area.
I think eagles are really cold weather birds - all those photo Glo send us and then Alaska pics we see. I think that is why they have feathered legs! lol
well hubby came home early...he will just have to wait til around 6...like to slow cook it for 8 hours.....had it set for 10, but he surprised me by coming home early....throws me all off schedule
I know Margy is at work today. There was a really bad accident that happened as snow fell on the interstate. Two people have died and a number of others were injured in a multivehicle accident on westbound Interstate 70 near the Washington/Frederick counties line, according to Maryland State Police. The accident, first reported at 12:20 p.m., involved 40 passenger vehicles, seven tractor-trailers and three box trucks. Interstate 70 westbound is closed at Exit 42 and could remain so until about 9 p.m. A trooper at the scene said one person slowed down and the result was a chain-reaction accident.
Going to watch some news - I have slow cooker with a piece of Beef I won't have any visitors for dinner so I am fixing Candied Sweet Potatoes for hubby and me.... Our kids don't care for them!
The buck is at the salt lick now... It's the buck with only one side of his antlers intact. The other big buck is on the other side of the woods I guess that is where I am seeing him.
Not sure how it is being handled...My daughter & hubby and of course Suz have all made it a 'day off'. I don't know what the gov't is doing.. I am expecting banks to be open and business as usual with the exception of Washington DC... Let you know if I hear anything..
Margy - you may need a need very warm bath... or put dry socks on and a warm hat and climb under the covers! Lots of covers! After you drink a cup of hot tea
Perfect suggestion, Jo, warm bath and hot tea...have the "heated blanket" turned up high for later on...sorry I don't go "Green" in that regard, but a cold bed is definitely NOT TO MY LIKING !!
Just dropped it to see if maybe anyone had heard from Paula. Let us know about the arrangements if you do.
I am glad Margy is home and her shift is over. Good to see you all. Weren't Bob's pics absolutely breathtaking? I am so envious. I would never get anything done if I lived where eagles were flying around all day.
Ha Ha I live near eagles when it 20 below to 20 above and I don't get anything done all day LOL But I sure got lots of pictures. There is nothing like it and all the folks out there freezing with me helps me to not look or feel quite as crazy especially when the wind chill is really cold .
Aaaaah, I am warm now. MITS - I went through two also, inadvertently plugged the steam iron into the same power strip and that is a NO NO to mix two electrical warm things...learned my lesson. This one I have now I am babying, PLUS I have a nice little down comforter on top of it all! ☺
Back in the days when I had a wood stove, I would skootch my bottom up close to it, soon found that it was too hot for the threads in my bibs of old, and they wore out mighty fast in the seat! :)
I think your adventures are great GLO ! I'll have to shop for some of those cool warm items that Megan posted in "The Heat Factory Store" on Saturday...and hitch a ride to the Quad Cities !
Hedgie: I think I am just going through the shock of returning to work after a whole entire glorious week off! :( When I grow up, I really want to be a retired person of wealth!
Glo, I would be right there with you for sure. Good night all my friends. I will see you in the morning light. Prayers for all, especially Paula and her family.
Margy, olives (yuk) and cream cheese?? Very interesting. ♥☺☺☺♥♥ My sister Donna loved olives, used to drink the juice out of the jar, even had my Adam drinking it when he was 2 years old. Ahh, memories, such wonderful, terrible, wonderful things.
Glad you got warmed up, Margy. GeeGee uses an electric blanket, also. The first thing she did when we walked into her house after our trip, was to walk back to her room and turn the blanket on:) Left us standing in the middle of the living room! lol
Well Magpie I do have the handwarmers and boy do I ever dress in layers. But like you tonight I am working on getting warmed back up. I am right now loading a slide show to Glo's Glimpse's.
Jo, the photos that I posted were taken with that Nikon that Gene took back Sunday. Not many of my pictures turned out??? He brought me back a Sony. Have to get a card for it before I can try it out. I did get a nice photo of GeeGee gathering shells on the beach...haven't had time to post it yet.
Boy, Bob really asked for it when he inquired about the WAX thing! That was all pretty funny! That was before my time. I only remember Poop Shoot Facials...☺
It sure is a treat when Bob jumps on here now and again.

Nice pictures, Bob:) love the close up of the heron.
I think its in reference to doing a split after a bikini wax job Bob.

ROFLMBO.....Yes I was not going to touch that topic:):):)
Ah, the danger of idle minds...
OK, I THINK I understand now. I'll just pretend I don't.
That's probably best....
I think the eagles have moved the cam slightly...can't see the road on the right anymore
a wise man, Bob;)
But you have to admit, the wax thing was really funny!
Going out for a little while. See ya!
the eagles are still close by, can here them when the d$%# sound stays on
ok Drano, see you when you get back:)
sun is shining on the nest
3 moose on moosecam

look like they are watching a tennis match
Wasn't that gorilla tape they used? lol
Was at the moose cam comments - I remember Mits that you got a pic of Pook in what I thought was a bobcat...

yes it was!
she is something else....
eagle at NBG
hello everyone
I know this sounds silly but I hope our eagles are staying warm.
I absolutely love seeing the snow. I sure miss that here in Bedford.
Their cam is great - the night time view isn't very well lighted..
I think eagles are really cold weather birds - all those photo Glo send us and then Alaska pics we see. I think that is why they have feathered legs! lol
Both eagles at NGB... One at nest and one out on the limb
I know they are Mema Jo that is why I thought I was so silly. Oh well, it won't be the last time huh.
Well when I look at their nest that is snow covered - I wonder also if they will come and rest there!
NBG nest sure has lots of limbs to perch on!
I sure wish Lake WA would come back up
Well Mits - what time is the pork & kraut going to be ready?
I am a spoiler - I sprinkle 'sugar' on kraut!!! lol
well hubby came home early...he will just have to wait til around 6...like to slow cook it for 8 hours.....had it set for 10, but he surprised me by coming home early....throws me all off schedule
the eagles have been above the nest all afternoon, when the sound is on I have heard them

HERKY JERKY CAM AND SOUND
Love sweet potatoes with walnuts and a touch of orange juice in the casserole. Baked sweet potatoes with just a little margarine is good too.
DIGGING in nest cup
thanks for the heads up MITS-how majestic against the snow
always makes for a pretty pic, as long as it is not too much snow
looks like she is eating the snow
poof up into the tree
Thelma, don't you get snow in Bedford????? Or just less than what you are used to?
Mmmm...food talk making me hungry, as always! Love sweet potatoes/yams almost anyway they are fixed!! They go well w/ pork and kraut, Mits!!
Excellent color in nest right now.
Maybe if I go away...they will return. Going to fix supper, Lib & Belle.
I love drop dumplings with Pork and Sauerkraut, also mashed potatoes.
Paula...hoping you are home and getting some rest. I'm sure it's been a difficult day for you and your brother. Is there anything any of us can do?

Does anyone have a picture?
well folks....OUR CAM IS DOWN:(
Its gone, Thelma.
The buck is at the salt lick now...
It's the buck with only one side of his antlers intact.
The other big buck is on the other side of the woods I guess that is where I am seeing him.
probably why there is running back and forth, Jo....
lol.....a doe just tried to sneak by the big guy, he turned around and she vanished
Still cam isn't affected as badly as our Live Feed. Thank goodness we already had our evening visit!
still cam still has the telltale rainbow lines at top, so it is not working either. probably.
I hope you fine eagle momsters and dadsters have a fine evening. TTFN
good night, Thelma
good night MITS-thanks for the company
little hummer in view
any time, Thelma:)
Sent an email just in case no one else did. Said I hoped it would be up/running by early morning!
is tomorrow another federal holiday????
I'll answer my own question no it is not....other wise my trash pickup would be 2 days behind instead of 1.
Not sure how it is being handled...My daughter & hubby and of course Suz have all made it a 'day off'. I don't know what the gov't is doing.. I am expecting banks to be open and business as usual with the exception of Washington DC...
Let you know if I hear anything..
So the banks & post office & trash collectors will all be up/running!
The night light is on the NBG cam The
nest is MT
Our cam still acting up!!!
Going to take my evening break..
BBL
out trash pickup is usually tomorrow, but will be picked up Wednesday instead...
Good Evening Eagle ♀ and ♂ People.
Good to see all the news about turkeys and deer and especially Eagles today.
Snowfall made things very busy in our county, nothing serious, just a lot or property damage wrecks and just a few injuries.
Sure am thinking about Paula, have been, all day. She would be pleased that the Eagles came out to play
Bob's new slideshow sure is nice. Glo's are great too ☺
I saw the bucks and other deer at Pix a little while ago, not there now. Have not seen the racoons since the snow got so deep there.
HERE COMES THE BIG BUCK
Good News that the injured Eagle at Harpers Ferry has been rescued and is in rehab !
Wonder when we will see Deb show up ?
I see that Mema. ☺
I cannot get warm tonight! Time to put on some more layers....
Mama Hummer off the nest. The unhatched egg goes 'round and 'round in the nest....not sure if the baby or the mother moves it.
Margy - you may need a need very warm bath... or put dry socks on and a warm hat and climb under the covers! Lots of covers! After you drink a cup of hot tea
Hope you warm up, Margy
Be Back later this evening.......
Perfect suggestion, Jo, warm bath and hot tea...have the "heated blanket" turned up high for later on...sorry I don't go "Green" in that regard, but a cold bed is definitely NOT TO MY LIKING !!
That buck is so awesome....
Couldn't get car doors open tonight when I left work...finally got the front two open...
I don't care much for that.
Think I will use my Eagle Mug that Paula delivered to my Roost last August ! ☺ ♥
Couldn't get car doors open? Did you call 911? LOL
Glad you are home safe and sound:)
That's a good one Wanda !
Thanks - it was a busy day and I was glad to see next shift coming in.
Off to drown some bubbles...Back in a little bit....☺
Margy, I'm with you...electric blanket is a must!! Hope you aren't coming down w/ something! Stay warm and EAT!!
Wanda I was just looking at your most recent photos. Did Gene bring you another camera? Love your Wedding Pic!!
No word yet Sissy....

Keep Paula and Family in Prayers and my thoughts.
Who found the information on the Eagle that was hurt at Harpers Ferry? Was there an email sent?
Ok I finally found it in comments from Norma. Thank you Norma Mom. Jan 19 9:07:00AM Great maybe they can help and release.
Margy, Lynn i love electric blankets too, but went thru 2 of them and decided to get top of the line down comforter...its comfy:)

Beautiful doe getting closer and closer to the cam at PIX PA ☺
If I had some cream cheese, I would have a cream cheese and olive sandwich right about now, if I had some olives.
Goodnight friends!!
As I understood it, federal employees in DC were mandated to take the day off...they are probably charging a day of leave!
Glad you got warmed up, Margy. GeeGee uses an electric blanket, also. The first thing she did when we walked into her house after our trip, was to walk back to her room and turn the blanket on:) Left us standing in the middle of the living room! lol
I hear that olives are aphrodisiacs. Maybe OUR Eagles have been chowing down on some. ♥
That is pretty heavy duty, drinking the juice out of the jar!
Take care, Sissy, hope you get some good rest. xo ♥
Well Magpie I do have the handwarmers and boy do I ever dress in layers. But like you tonight I am working on getting warmed back up. I am right now loading a slide show to Glo's Glimpse's.
Wanda: that is the first thing I do also: turn on that blanket! I can just picture your Mother doing that !

She is a card, as you know, Margy:)
Didn't know you had more photos, GLO....will check them out.
Margy, did you not read the joke about the WAX? If not, I will see if I can find it. Hilarious! Jo didn't tell the whole truth;);)
Just checked your pictures, Wanda. Nice! Love that buidling in Fort Pierce. Will look forward to the other ones too.
HI Glo ! I checked out your new photos very early this morning. Great, as usual! ☺
Mr and Mrs Buck at Pix PA ♥ ♥
I have olives and cream cheese, love them both, but by golly have never had a cream cheese olive sandwich, sounds like a good Lenten lunch, Margy:)
GOOD NIGHT ALL:)
Time to hit the (warm) sack.
