ITS A WAX SPLIT:)

Mema Jo said...

Hi there eagle buddies!

Bob Quinn said...

OK, can somebody explain the wax thing to me?

Mits said...

hey there, Jo..

hedgie said...

Snowing again!

hedgie said...

I don't know what it is, Bob. Have heard everyone talk about it...it was some joke before the poop-shoot facials started! Jo or Wanda or Mits can explain!!
Sharon, how are you doing? Hope the weather improves before you have to head back to UVA Th.!

Mema Jo said...

Hubby went to donate blood... He is a
regular!

Snow seems to have stopped here in the valley. All is White! Our nest is
looking as though the birds have been marching around! Mits caught a really good pic of them in the nest..

Red said...

Must be a woman thing Bob, they're not talking. LOL

Red said...

I'm going for a nap. BBL

floralgirl said...

The wax....Oh, boy, that's a loaded question...
Just outside cleaning up the drive-snow has stopped here, dog loves it, had to bring him in, he looks like one tiny snowball.. teen said not enough to venture out in.
Nice pictures, Bob:) love the close up of the heron.

Red said...

I think its in reference to doing a split after a bikini wax job Bob.

Mema Jo said...

ROFLMBO I was so hoping to ignore you, Bob. Thanks alot Red but you hit it right on the head! It was an email joke of Waxing of Hair Removal on Legs which I think I have long discarded... Believe me it was before we had Dadsters! We made a game of it & Sharon was the Wax Queen because she always seemed to be able to get Comment #100 or #200 or #300 & that got you so many pounds of WAX - Vicky & Glo got lots of wax in order to slide into WV for the Open House 2 years ago. It was just a fun thing for the bloggers to do when the nest was MT & we needed something to occupy our minds. NOW YOU KNOW THE STORY!!

BBL

Mits said...

ROFLMBO.....Yes I was not going to touch that topic:):):)

floralgirl said...

Ah, the danger of idle minds...

Bob Quinn said...

OK, I THINK I understand now. I'll just pretend I don't.

floralgirl said...

That's probably best....

Mits said...

I think the eagles have moved the cam slightly...can't see the road on the right anymore

Mits said...

a wise man, Bob;)

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

But you have to admit, the wax thing was really funny!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Going out for a little while. See ya!

Mits said...

the eagles are still close by, can here them when the d$%# sound stays on

Mits said...

ok Drano, see you when you get back:)

Mits said...

sun is shining on the nest

Mits said...

3 moose on moosecam

Mits said...

cardinals and chickadees on Pix cam

Mits said...

yes, our cam view has definitely shifted, can't see the sky to the right anymore.....super duck tape may be slipping

Mits said...

both eagles BWE

Mits said...

well poof for them

Mits said...

but they came back

ceil said...

2 at BWO

Mits said...

look like they are watching a tennis match

Mema Jo said...

Wasn't that gorilla tape they used? lol

Mema Jo said...

Was at the moose cam comments - I remember Mits that you got a pic of Pook in what I thought was a bobcat...
She said: That’s an ASV machine, a little bigger than a bobcat. Sometimes it’s the only safe way for me to get up to the hay manger area.

Mits said...

yes it was!

Mits said...

she is something else....

Mits said...

eagle at NBG

T-Bird said...

hello everyone

T-Bird said...

I know this sounds silly but I hope our eagles are staying warm.

T-Bird said...

I absolutely love seeing the snow. I sure miss that here in Bedford.

Mema Jo said...

Their cam is great - the night time view isn't very well lighted..

Mema Jo said...

I think eagles are really cold weather birds - all those photo Glo send us and then Alaska pics we see. I think that is why they have feathered legs! lol

Mema Jo said...

Both eagles at NGB... One at nest and one out on the limb

T-Bird said...

I know they are Mema Jo that is why I thought I was so silly. Oh well, it won't be the last time huh.

Mema Jo said...

Well when I look at their nest that is snow covered - I wonder also if they will come and rest there!

NBG nest sure has lots of limbs to perch on!

I sure wish Lake WA would come back up

Mema Jo said...

Well Mits - what time is the pork & kraut going to be ready?
I am a spoiler - I sprinkle 'sugar' on kraut!!! lol

Mits said...

well hubby came home early...he will just have to wait til around 6...like to slow cook it for 8 hours.....had it set for 10, but he surprised me by coming home early....throws me all off schedule

Mits said...

the eagles have been above the nest all afternoon, when the sound is on I have heard them

Mema Jo said...

I know Margy is at work today. There was a really bad accident that happened as snow fell on the interstate. Two people have died and a number of others were injured in a multivehicle accident on westbound Interstate 70 near the Washington/Frederick counties line, according to Maryland State Police.
The accident, first reported at 12:20 p.m., involved 40 passenger vehicles, seven tractor-trailers and three box trucks. Interstate 70 westbound is closed at Exit 42 and could remain so until about 9 p.m. A trooper at the scene said one person slowed down and the result was a chain-reaction accident.

T-Bird said...

that is horrible Mema Jo-glad to know Magpie is safe-prayers to those in the accident and their families

Mema Jo said...

Going to watch some news -
I have slow cooker with a piece of Beef
I won't have any visitors for dinner so
I am fixing Candied Sweet Potatoes for hubby and me.... Our kids don't care for them!

(Eagles should come as soon as I leave)

Mits said...

DIGGING in nest cup

T-Bird said...

thanks for the heads up MITS-how majestic against the snow

Mits said...

always makes for a pretty pic, as long as it is not too much snow

Mits said...

looks like she is eating the snow

Mits said...

poof up into the tree

hedgie said...

Thelma, don't you get snow in Bedford????? Or just less than what you are used to?

hedgie said...

Mmmm...food talk making me hungry, as always! Love sweet potatoes/yams almost anyway they are fixed!! They go well w/ pork and kraut, Mits!!

hedgie said...

Excellent color in nest right now.

Costume Lady said...

Maybe if I go away...they will return. Going to fix supper, Lib & Belle.

Costume Lady said...

I love drop dumplings with Pork and Sauerkraut, also mashed potatoes.

hedgie said...

Paula...hoping you are home and getting some rest. I'm sure it's been a difficult day for you and your brother. Is there anything any of us can do?

Mits said...

Channel 9 news just spoke of the IE of NZ panda.

Mits said...

the doe want to eat but the buck keeps chasing them away in PA

T-Bird said...

Does anyone have a picture?

Mits said...

well folks....OUR CAM IS DOWN:(

Mits said...

Its gone, Thelma.

Mema Jo said...

The buck is at the salt lick now...
It's the buck with only one side of his antlers intact.
The other big buck is on the other side of the woods I guess that is where I am seeing him.

Mits said...

probably why there is running back and forth, Jo....

Mits said...

lol.....a doe just tried to sneak by the big guy, he turned around and she vanished

Mema Jo said...

Still cam isn't affected as badly as our Live Feed. Thank goodness we already had our evening visit!

Mits said...

still cam still has the telltale rainbow lines at top, so it is not working either. probably.

T-Bird said...

I hope you fine eagle momsters and dadsters have a fine evening. TTFN

Mits said...

good night, Thelma

T-Bird said...

good night MITS-thanks for the company

Mits said...

little hummer in view

Mits said...

any time, Thelma:)

Mema Jo said...

Sent an email just in case no one else did. Said I hoped it would be up/running by early morning!

Mits said...

is tomorrow another federal holiday????

Mits said...

I'll answer my own question no it is not....other wise my trash pickup would be 2 days behind instead of 1.

Mema Jo said...

Not sure how it is being handled...My daughter & hubby and of course Suz have all made it a 'day off'. I don't know what the gov't is doing.. I am expecting banks to be open and business as usual with the exception of Washington DC...
Let you know if I hear anything..

Mema Jo said...

So the banks & post office & trash collectors will all be up/running!

Mema Jo said...

The night light is on the NBG cam The
nest is MT
Our cam still acting up!!!

Mema Jo said...

Going to take my evening break..

BBL

Mits said...

out trash pickup is usually tomorrow, but will be picked up Wednesday instead...

magpie said...

Good Evening Eagle ♀ and ♂ People.

Good to see all the news about turkeys and deer and especially Eagles today.

Snowfall made things very busy in our county, nothing serious, just a lot or property damage wrecks and just a few injuries.

Sure am thinking about Paula, have been, all day. She would be pleased that the Eagles came out to play

magpie said...

Bob's new slideshow sure is nice. Glo's are great too ☺

magpie said...

I saw the bucks and other deer at Pix a little while ago, not there now. Have not seen the racoons since the snow got so deep there.

Mema Jo said...

HERE COMES THE BIG BUCK

magpie said...

Good News that the injured Eagle at Harpers Ferry has been rescued and is in rehab !

Wonder when we will see Deb show up ?

magpie said...

I see that Mema. ☺

I cannot get warm tonight! Time to put on some more layers....

magpie said...

Mama Hummer off the nest. The unhatched egg goes 'round and 'round in the nest....not sure if the baby or the mother moves it.

Mema Jo said...

Margy - you may need a need very warm bath... or put dry socks on and a warm hat and climb under the covers! Lots of covers! After you drink a cup of hot tea

Mema Jo said...

Hope you warm up, Margy

Be Back later this evening.......

magpie said...

Perfect suggestion, Jo, warm bath and hot tea...have the "heated blanket" turned up high for later on...sorry I don't go "Green" in that regard, but a cold bed is definitely NOT TO MY LIKING !!

magpie said...

That buck is so awesome....

magpie said...

Couldn't get car doors open tonight when I left work...finally got the front two open...

I don't care much for that.

magpie said...

Think I will use my Eagle Mug that Paula delivered to my Roost last August ! ☺ ♥

Costume Lady said...

Couldn't get car doors open? Did you call 911? LOL
Glad you are home safe and sound:)

magpie said...

That's a good one Wanda !

Thanks - it was a busy day and I was glad to see next shift coming in.

Off to drown some bubbles...Back in a little bit....☺

hedgie said...

Margy, I'm with you...electric blanket is a must!! Hope you aren't coming down w/ something! Stay warm and EAT!!

Mema Jo said...

Wanda I was just looking at your most recent photos. Did Gene bring you another camera? Love your Wedding Pic!!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Just dropped it to see if maybe anyone had heard from Paula. Let us know about the arrangements if you do.

I am glad Margy is home and her shift is over. Good to see you all. Weren't Bob's pics absolutely breathtaking? I am so envious. I would never get anything done if I lived where eagles were flying around all day.

Mema Jo said...

No word yet Sissy....

glo said...

Ha Ha I live near eagles when it 20 below to 20 above and I don't get anything done all day LOL But I sure got lots of pictures. There is nothing like it and all the folks out there freezing with me helps me to not look or feel quite as crazy especially when the wind chill is really cold .

wvgal_dana said...

Keep Paula and Family in Prayers and my thoughts.

wvgal_dana said...

Who found the information on the Eagle that was hurt at Harpers Ferry? Was there an email sent?

wvgal_dana said...

Ok I finally found it in comments from Norma. Thank you Norma Mom. Jan 19 9:07:00AM Great maybe they can help and release.

Mits said...

Margy, Lynn i love electric blankets too, but went thru 2 of them and decided to get top of the line down comforter...its comfy:)

magpie said...

Aaaaah, I am warm now.
MITS - I went through two also, inadvertently plugged the steam iron into the same power strip and that is a NO NO to mix two electrical warm things...learned my lesson. This one I have now I am babying, PLUS I have a nice little down comforter on top of it all! ☺

Back in the days when I had a wood stove, I would skootch my bottom up close to it, soon found that it was too hot for the threads in my bibs of old, and they wore out mighty fast in the seat! :)

magpie said...

I think your adventures are great GLO ! I'll have to shop for some of those cool warm items that Megan posted in "The Heat Factory Store" on Saturday...and hitch a ride to the Quad Cities !

magpie said...

Hedgie: I think I am just going through the shock of returning to work after a whole entire glorious week off! :(
When I grow up, I really want to be a retired person of wealth!

magpie said...

Beautiful doe getting closer and closer to the cam at PIX PA ☺

magpie said...

If I had some cream cheese, I would have a cream cheese and olive sandwich right about now, if I had some olives.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Glo, I would be right there with you for sure. Good night all my friends. I will see you in the morning light. Prayers for all, especially Paula and her family.

Margy, olives (yuk) and cream cheese?? Very interesting. ♥☺☺☺♥♥ My sister Donna loved olives, used to drink the juice out of the jar, even had my Adam drinking it when he was 2 years old. Ahh, memories, such wonderful, terrible, wonderful things.

Goodnight friends!!

hedgie said...

As I understood it, federal employees in DC were mandated to take the day off...they are probably charging a day of leave!

Costume Lady said...

Glad you got warmed up, Margy. GeeGee uses an electric blanket, also. The first thing she did when we walked into her house after our trip, was to walk back to her room and turn the blanket on:) Left us standing in the middle of the living room! lol

magpie said...

I hear that olives are aphrodisiacs. Maybe OUR Eagles have been chowing down on some. ♥

That is pretty heavy duty, drinking the juice out of the jar!

Take care, Sissy, hope you get some good rest. xo ♥

glo said...

Well Magpie I do have the handwarmers and boy do I ever dress in layers. But like you tonight I am working on getting warmed back up. I am right now loading a slide show to Glo's Glimpse's.

magpie said...

Wanda: that is the first thing I do also: turn on that blanket! I can just picture your Mother doing that !

Costume Lady said...

Jo, the photos that I posted were taken with that Nikon that Gene took back Sunday. Not many of my pictures turned out??? He brought me back a Sony. Have to get a card for it before I can try it out.
I did get a nice photo of GeeGee gathering shells on the beach...haven't had time to post it yet.

magpie said...

Boy, Bob really asked for it when he inquired about the WAX thing! That was all pretty funny!
That was before my time. I only remember Poop Shoot Facials...☺

It sure is a treat when Bob jumps on here now and again.

Costume Lady said...

She is a card, as you know, Margy:)

Costume Lady said...

Didn't know you had more photos, GLO....will check them out.

Costume Lady said...

Margy, did you not read the joke about the WAX? If not, I will see if I can find it. Hilarious! Jo didn't tell the whole truth;);)

magpie said...

Just checked your pictures, Wanda. Nice! Love that buidling in Fort Pierce. Will look forward to the other ones too.

HI Glo ! I checked out your new photos very early this morning. Great, as usual! ☺

magpie said...

Mr and Mrs Buck at Pix PA ♥ ♥

Mits said...

I have olives and cream cheese, love them both, but by golly have never had a cream cheese olive sandwich, sounds like a good Lenten lunch, Margy:)

Mits said...

GOOD NIGHT ALL:)

magpie said...

Time to hit the (warm) sack.

Paula, hope you can feel our love coming your way....across the miles and two continents. We're here for you, little one.

Good Night, all.

God Bless Us, Every One.

Costume Lady said...

Nite, Helen and Margy. Sleep tight.

Mema Jo said...

I am ready to close down and say
Good Night to everyone...

I loved the snow today.. Need to go out tomorrow afternoon & hope the sun is shinning. Hope you get good news tomorrow at you Dr appointment Wanda.

My prayers are for everyone's needs and especially for Paula and her family. I know her mom is now at Peace. ♥
