On Jan 19th Paula sent a personal email stating that her Mom passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan 18th. Last evening on our Daily Eagle Blog Paula left this message:
Good evening, dear friends
I am back home right now, and plan on going to work on Thursday and Friday. I have a meeting in the morning, so I may not be on much tomorrow.
My Mom's wish was to be cremated and placed in Arlington Cemetery column barium with my father, which we will do at a later date. Mom kept wanting to go home, and that is where she is now.
I am still waiting on a confirmation for her Memorial Mass...Along with the church office being closed due to the holiday and inauguration, the pastor also had a death in the family. We are waiting on confirmation from him on Thursday. My son is still in Jamaica, so we are planning the memorial service for next Friday, January 30th. Her obituary will be in the Washington Post next Tuesday.Mom's passing was very peaceful. The doctors did all they could for her, but her body just couldn't fight any longer. She's fought against this for over 4 months with determination and strength and without any complaint. I know if she could have kept going, she would have.
Your thoughts and prayers for my family and I mean more than you know. I just want to thank each and every one of you for your support and love.

I am home, I looked far and wide and only found 10 eagles. None of them were close to me, but I did get a few shots--nothing exciting. It is beautiful today, almost 50, but back to winter tomorrow. A lot of snow melted and my driveway is almost clear!

Good evening! Going to be watching Grey's Anatomy pretty soon, thought I'd say hello while I can. Missed the visit to the nest this afternoon, but got a lot of work done in the yard. I'm hurting....can you hear my moans?! LOL Jack has been working all week, but today was my first day to join him. Worked hard on flower beds!
Tomorrow we are going to go get some rock to work on a flower bed in front. Not a new flower bed, but going to "redecorate!" This is the time of year to do it, as it gets too hot quickly.
It is getting so close to egg time. Can hardly wait! Tried to get the OK cam, but couldn't get it to come up.

We've been very cautious about being outside alone lately, didn't wanns be paranoid, but this garbage was very dangerous, and they had no idea where he was. Now comes the investigation to find out where he got all the items he had in his possession. Hope no one else has been hurt by him.

Good morning, it is cold and windy today. We have had our high temp and it is downhill for the rest of the day.
Hi Everyone, Been doing a lot of Panda naps! Thx for your concern---just a bug--it is what it is!
What a fantastic picture from yesterday PM!
Stayed home today to try & eat real food & get back some energy, but between Fubby & cats, think I'll need tranquilizers!!!A used car engine was delivered in AM, but is in driveway, not garage. The crane-type lift hasn't been used in years & has broken seal, so won't work. Fubby is jury-rigging a small jack w/boards up on the braces to try & get it off ground. Lift thing has wheels, but I hear big bangs when all the xtra pieces fall off. My logical solution would be to use board, etc. like a sled & just drag w/come-a-long to garage.I've been out there as an asst., but was allowed to come in. Very nerve wracking.
Little kitty got the fixer upper treatment at vets. on Wed., but something, maybe Clinic/med smell is making Big one ballistic!She huffs,puffs, gets racoon tail, hisses & is downright nasty. I'm sort of referee to prevent any violence toward the patient.Have kept them separated at times.
Now I've been summoned to direct outside operations! Always Something!!!! BBL

Now I can try & get back to normal life, I hope & watch for birds, etc.

My feed was frozen, too, Megan. I saw the eagle on the still cam and had to reset the live feed.
There is no eagle on my cam either, Deb; but there is a large amount of fresh, dry grass ... perhaps a portend of egg setting activities.

Time is getting close for egg laying. The first egg last year was on Jan. 26th at BWE. (that's not counting the FL nests) Next was Oklahoma on Feb 1 and then our nest. I am off to see if OK is up.
