Good Morning, Steve. Did you see our eagles this morning? WOW!

Costume Lady said...

I was trying to tell SISSY Good Morning, and my screen froze on me. Had to go "Round Robinhood's Barn" to get back on here;)

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Good morning Steve, thanks for the new thread.

For right now, things are settled for a minute and I am grateful. Wouldn't mind an uneventful day or two for sure. Tom has his hernia surgery next Tuesday. Hernias everywhere around here!! ☺

Costume Lady said...

TOM, TOO? Must be something in the water in Bluefield.

wvgal_dana said...

Thanks Steven for the new thread.

BWO as stated on old thread and Sissy also said about the cam frozen and the floor of the nest has broken up!!!!!!

Sissy sorry Tom too has a hernia. You haven't had one have you?

wvgal_dana said...

On our "still cam" nest floor is brownish and leaves are different brown. Stick dark and white. On our "live feed" all is in like at nite and not much color. BUT I LOVE IT ANYWAY!!!!!! HAVE I SAID I LOVE THE LIVE FEED AND THE STILL CAM WORKING!!!!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I don't want to seem all gloom and doom, because I don't feel that way. This is just a bump in the road and things will settle down eventually. In the world of big deals, this ain't one.

I need ya'll to pray for us (again!!) today. 28 years ago today we lost our children in a fire in Falls Mills, VA along with a good friend and her daughter. It was the Thursday before Thanksgiving, just like today.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

The eagles are singing to use in Maine. I find such comfort in that sound. Wish we could see em!!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Singing to us I mean.

Costume Lady said...

Oh, Sissy, I am so stunned that I don't know what to say. I didn't know...Prayers for you BIG TIME!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Thanks so much Wanda. Yeah, it was a long time ago but still feels so fresh. One of those things that never happens to you, ya know. But, we have a good life now. Wish it had been different but IT IS WHAT IT IS. But on days like this, I just have to let myself remember and cry or laught or whatever.

floralgirl said...

Wow, Sissy, I had no idea, so very sorry to hear that, you are a strong woman.. Much love sent to you:)

Costume Lady said...

Sissy, I lost a baby many years ago, but not in the way that you did. He would have been 28 years old last month. I never got to hold him in my arms and that makes a big difference, (it was a miscarrage). God Bless You.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Adam was 2-1/2 years old and Aaron was 8 months old when they died. Adam would be 30 now and Aaron 28, grown men. I am not trying to be morbid or anything like that, really I am not. But it is important to me that people know they were here, lived good lives, and were loved.

Costume Lady said...

Sometimes it helps to talk about it, Sissy. That is not MORBID. Thank you for sharing that with us.

Costume Lady said...

Gives us a whole new perspective on our own lives.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Thanks Wanda, so much.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Thanks Megan! You getting ready for Christmas?

Costume Lady said...

Megan is like a little hummingbird...here one minute, gone the next :)

floralgirl said...

Well, morbid is never a word I would use to describe you Sissy... thanks for sharing your very personal thoughts today. I'm sure that Adam and Aaron would have grown up to be wonderful young men.
I am getting ready to walk outside, should start making wreaths today, now that I have a lot of greeens collected and cut up.

Costume Lady said...

I am not seeing our avatars, is anyone else having that problem?

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

They are showing up here Wanda.

floralgirl said...

Well, before I fly away...Here's the song stuck in my head this morning- Hallelujah
Wanda, sorry to hear of your loss, also, hugs to you(())

Costume Lady said...

I guess I need to shut down again and see if that helps. Something isn't right.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I put a pic of the boys on my pics thing, if ya'll want to see em.

floralgirl said...

Wow- Sissy, they are so cute..
Here's news on Mason-Mason update

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

As loud as those birds are in Maine, you would think we would see some signs of life on the cam. I haven't seen anything there this morning, but I sure do hear em.

Costume Lady said...

I shut down my 'puter and now that I am back, I can see the avatars and two beautiful angels :) :)

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

wvgal_dana said...

Sorry I did a download and had to restart. Then I went to emails.

Sissy I am so sorry for your loss. Yes I did know. Sharon and me had spoke of it one time. I didn't know
their dates or names though. It is good that you have shared with us and talk about your Boys. I feel saddened and bless that you shared your sons pictures with us too. They are beautiful boys Bev. You know when the time comes you will see them again. For now they are shared with your Dad and Mom and others. Just have always had Sharon, You and YOUR FAMILY in prayers through ALL the DIFFENT THINGS YOU ALL HAVE BEEN THROUGH.
Plus have prayed for GOOD THINGS FOR YOU ALL for a long time now.

I also know the prayers for GOOD THINGS have been answered too.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Thanks ya'll. Yeah, I wonder alot what kind of men they would be, would they be married, have children, etc.

ceil said...

UPDATE FROM LISA....
11/20/08:
Technical Note -
We're having computer issues, which is affecting the image updating. We're working to fix it.

Also, Meadow -- the odd American osprey that migrated to Canada -- is on the move.

She's come down to Cleveland, Ohio, but she still has a long way to go to South America.

glo said...

Will just echo what Deb just said

Sissy, you and Tom have my prayers today. They are beautiful boys.

Wanda and Helen, hugs to you!

Loss is a hole filled with love. I find it easier to think of it that way in my own life.

I hope in the rough days that "He" sends you something beautiful to lighten your heart along the way.

movin said...

God bless you and your loved ones, Sissy. I'm sure they are all with Him and well cared for.

And while He's at it, maybe He can bless us all as well.

Lun Update for Thursday...
Thursday, November 20
Lun Lun continues to enjoy outings to the dayroom. She has been getting access to the area for about 2-4 hours a day. Some days she ends up spending an hour or two eating her bamboo, whereas other days she only makes a short trip out to look around and then returns to the off exhibit dens. The cub does not seem to be bothered by Lun Lun’s time away. He is either content sleeping or scooting around working on his muscle development. These are two things a panda cub does best.

Off to run lots and lots of errands that don't involve sightseeing with a TE...That will make sense if you read the For The Love of Eagles Blog under my name. Now I need Dog food, birdfood, and people food. LOL Its a priority thing.

Hope Sharons visit goes OK and has not been too hard on her. Saw she was hurting quite a lot yesterday.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I think Sharon is too hard on herself. Thinks she should be able to get up and around more than she is. She is doing really really good. I think if they take some of those drains out, it will help her alot. That can't feel good for sure.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

What will become of the BWO nest? It definitely looks like the nest fell through.

Mits said...

Sissy, I reminded her this a.m., that she had 2 major surgeries last Wednesday.....my drains were in for 3 weeks.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Right Mits. This ain't like getting a hang nail trimmed. This is some big stuff.

wvgal_dana said...

She MUST take it easy on herself...REST, TAKE IT EASY, TAKE IT SLOW....and more she would be telling someone else on the blog. That just had that surgery. God Love Her Heart..

wvgal_dana said...

Hay wait a minute....that's NOT a eagle on the branch on Maine cam??????????

Mits said...

I sure know that, Sissy.

wvgal_dana said...

He is just a "want to be eagle" lol

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Are ya'll hearing the sound that crow is making? I reckon that is a crow.

UPDATE FROM MOOSE CAM FROM POOK........ lone cow joined Primo last week. So you may be seeing her in the webcam.

Most of the snow from the first storm has now melted. The prediction is sunny for the next 10 days which means the moose won’t be sitting in my yard during the day. They go find shade on the north side of a tree or better yet the woods. So you’ll only see them when they come to feed, generally early morning 7-9 am and afternoon 3-5 pm give or take.

Wanda and Helen, I also had a miscarriage...37 yrs. ago last month.
I wonder if the Robinhoods Red Barn phrase came from PA? We always said it growing up, but folks here act like they've never heard it....my maternal great-grandmother came from PA....will have to ask my mom if it was something she always said!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I tried that too, Red, but mine is still choppy. Don't get me wrong, I am grateful for it, but it is just a little more choppy than the other one we had.

Costume Lady said...

The wind is fierce here...I was outside when Dana called, getting the Journal and the wind just about blew me away.

Costume Lady said...

Red said...

Hedgie, you might need to install or reinstall Adobe Flash Player.

Costume Lady said...

My still cam is stuck on 12:13, anyone else?

Mits said...

no difference here on high, medium or low...same quality pic

Costume Lady said...

WHERE ARE YOU LYNN...Try that blue link that Dana put on. She must have gotten lost in Cyberspace.

Lolly said...

Yay! For me!! I could tell them apart for the first time. Yay! LOL

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Wow, they sure are hanging out for a while, aren't they!!

Good morning Deb. Glad you made it in time. Morning Lolly and anybody else I missed. So good to "see" you all this morning.

Lolly said...

Paula and Deb...thinking about our 1 1/2 hours in the cold watching them. Paula....my little eagle is sitting right here by the puter! ☺

Costume Lady said...

Jo, my still cam is OK, now...just temporary insanity ;)

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Sharon is on the phone. Changed her antibiotic, left all the drains in. She has go back next Wednesday. Changed her pain meds, cut down on them. Said she was doing good.

deb said...

I was coming in to tell you that I had a red-bellied woodpecker just now. I am sure glad I had to report on it,

Lolly said...

Morning Sissy! I have read a little on this mornings blog. My prayers are with you today. You are a very strong person. Thank you for sharing...hopefully sharing helps. Bless you!

Mits said...

didn't think the drains would come out this soon:(

Costume Lady said...

MAAAARRRRRGYYY...I'M HOLLERING AT YOU....PAIR OF EAGLES IN OUR NEST..HURRY!!

hedgie said...

Okay, that worked!!

Lolly said...

Deb, red-bellied woodpeckers are common at my feeder. I have never seen a pileated woodpecker. (Sp?) I want to sooo badly!

paula eagleholic said...

Yay, Hedgie!

Lolly - we were there for awhile, weren't we! ♥ ☺ ♥

Red said...

Mits, I think you are right. Quality is same in all three positions. I think it was just a coincidence the first time I changed it.

Lolly said...

Anyone have Margy's telephone # ?

paula eagleholic said...

Glad Sharon got a good report!

hedgie said...

I'm not surprised they didn't take out drains since Sharon said she was still draining. Changing antibiotics probably means that there is some infection which could account for the more severe pain she's been having.

paula eagleholic said...

I think the best quality is when you hit "show all"...for me it makes the pic slightly smaller, and the best quality. But it doesn't stop the choppines.

hedgie said...

Gotta go get some work done....drat--sun is out--can't clean sunroom windows in the sun!!!

Mits said...

they changed antibiotics because the ones she was on made her sick when she ate anything:(

deb said...

I haven't either, Lolly. The first red-bellied I saw was at NCTC and now I have seen 2 more since then. Megan showed it to me.

Mema Jo said...

Nor sure of Margy's plans for today.
Just take pics and email to her.

Mits said...

how do you take pics on the live feed , Jo?

Mema Jo said...

Paula - I can't see your avatar...

Red said...

Jim is missing too.

Lolly said...

Jo, Paula's avatar is there. You are having computer problems.

Mema Jo said...

I can't take pics on LIVE FEED
I have the still cam up and the Pop Up on. Pics from the Still Cam is how I do it .
