Message from Pook about the moose:
A bull and a cow arrived this morning. I believe this is Bull #4 from last winter . He has a hole through the middle of his right antler. Looks like a bullet hole to me. (sigh) Well I’m glad it missed his body! I did find a moose carcass this summer while hiking. I presume it was shot because someone had sawed off the antlers. At the moment the two single cows appear to be getting along. The cow with calf didn’t show up yesterday, at least not during daylight.

It is just so crazy but it is all going to be okay. I had Mattie and Justin with me yesterday and they are back today. It is so good spending time with Justin because I don't get to see him a lot since they moved.

Josh and I had a very nice day just looking around and doing some shopping. He took me to the Christmas Shop (Hedgie, it is the same Christmas Shop that you went to that was closed. They couldn't sell it, soooo the opened it again. Not the same as the old one yet tho. Not much nice inventory like used to be thee and a lot filled in with "old" dishes, and cubbards, etc.) Hopefullly they will get it back to the wonderland that it used to be, and it still felt like we kept tradition just looking it over. They used to have some big sales in another part of the building at Thanksgiving time too. We also have a Christmas Mouse on the main bypass in Nags Head, right by the town line, but the Christmas Shop in Manteo was always the one we went to.
I was out trying to find some good Xmas avatars and get them to work like you all were doing yesterday. I used to be agle to make them move too, but the only ones I can get to appear are the ones I have stored on my computer. Boo Hoo. I'll keep at it.
James took all our food we brought home from the son's MIL and took it to an elderly lady that we are close to. He is cooking our turkey in the over as he is out playing golf with Josh today. Big problem, never told me when it was to be taken out AND he is finally trying to cook it in the bag! Yea, no mess.
Now that I have written 2 chapters of a book, I'm off to look at more avatars. BBL

Sissy was walking to the car to go to the store and stepped off the edge of the sidewalk. She said if the car hadn't been sitting there, she would have done a face plant into the gravels. I just talked to her and the doc just came in the room so hopefully we will know something soon.

One time, Sissy had a broken ankle and was on crutches. She went walking through the house on her crutches and hit her good foot on the leg of the bed and broke 2 toes. Ended in up a wheelchair. She is the most graceful in the family! :)
Sissy thought it was a bad idea about the jeans too but I just had to prove it to myself. Maybe a little hard-headed? Naw, that couldn't be it. ☺

Happy Belated Turkey Day!
We've had a rock'in weekend and Mason seems to be responding well to all the love, energy, music, & peeps surrounding him. We've had a full house for the past couple days. It's been great! Mason has been tracking so well. Sometimes he very very slightly moves his head to look. (That's right Mase, exercise those neck muscles) He has given a couple more thumbs up too.
There is much to be thankful for ~ we don't need a holiday to remind us of that, we are reminded every day.

Yes, it does, Helen, and the big bunch of grass that was hiding the osprey has been weighed down with sticks. Hopefully we will be able to see the osprey better now.

Puppy Update (sort of long but hard to find on their site)
[Nov 29] Not sure if anyone scrolls down this far but we wanted to update that we'll be taking the pups back out to a couple parks (new textures to feel under foot), shopping malls (new people and smells!) and even the beach today (so that they can experience what sand feels like). Apologies in advance because they won't be on camera (I wish we owned a digital video camera to capture it all for everyone!).
Also, a few people have been asking about when the pups will start leaving our home. Sorry to say that the first couple pups will likely start going to their new homes next weekend.
Do note that my wife and I *have* decided to keep one of the litter (yay!) so we'll likely have the webcam positioned in different rooms so you can tune in and watch the pup grow. =)
And finally, regarding Ustream... the founders have generously offered to give each of the pups new owners a webcam. While we'd like to thank John and Brad for their offer we would like to point out that acceptance will be up to the decision of each individual owner. There are privacy and other concerns that each owner needs to think about before embarking on such a decision.

I was just going to type that I couldn't either when it finally opened. It is that same as in Safari for me. Mine uses Adobe Flash Player 9, in both Firefox and Safari.

Ran out for a little while and did a quick hand-off/exchange w/ Bill...we're like passing ships in the night! Had to borrow holster from him...I don't travel w/o my piece! Ran into KMart and found a nice Christmas shirt to wear for luncheon, and got a few more tree ornaments to match the ones I got last year...they didn't have many, but I got all that they had!

I was horrified about Pook finding the Moose carcass...it's like the Gorillas being killed for their paws....God certainly has his hands full with the human population on this planet !
Took a call last night, a Bear ran into the side of a car on our Rt 9 West not far from the back creek bridge, bear ran off, people had damage to their car.
And the other morning, Thanksgiving day, took a call from someone, that reported that overnight someone stole his son's hunting clothing off the clothesline, and pulled up a heavy duty dog chain and the stake out of the ground! This is not nice!

My favorite DNR story is this: a girl in my gd's class told her dad, who is a game warden, about a little boy telling about the deer his dad got in April! Needless to say, he got caught!!!
