Update:
from an email I got from someone working at the day camp at NCTC this week:
"I'm happy to report that the Audubon Nature Camp students saw one of the eaglets swoop down and catch a fish on the river here today at NCTC! They also saw one of the adults fishing. "

I think I have this right: Marie Calandar had a line of frozen dinners and they were so good and popular, that she opened up a chain of restaurants.
Thanks T-Bird for the update on Sharon & Bev's travels!
Glad the Bluefield girls have safely arrived!
Hey, Wanda! As you can see, we were talking about Olive Garden, too!!
your welcome jo
Wanda, I THINK it might be the other way around....I was at the restaurant back in '78. Don't remember seeing the frozens until 5 or 6 yrs. ago. Jim....?????
NIte all- early morning for me tomorrow..
Night, Megan - hope you have a good day at the market.
nite floralgirl-sleep tight don't let the bed bugs bite
Now I told you guys that I was STOOPID! I had never seen one of her restaurants until we went out west, but we were familiar with her dinners. I need to get out more often. LOL
Lovely photos, Wanda, as always! You have such a beautiful family.
Nite Megan...hope you sell out tomorrow!
I think Collie was the most popular breed in the U.S.A. for a while in the 50's at least, and I always loved them.
My dog as a teen was great. My Dad had talked to a couple of people, who were staying temporarily in a rundown stable in the area, and he told me they had some puppies they wanted to give away (I think Dad gave them a $5 "for food").
So, we stopped on the way home soon after that and took a look. The mother was a smallish Collie and they said the father was a German Shepherd; and, still having the pick of the whole litter, I picked a brindle male with white ruff and brush, etc.
The brown was a dark honey brown which got lighter as it approached the white areas. He was a beautiful, active dog ... perfect for a teenage boy ... and he kind of resembled a Border Collie in many ways. Not exactly, but similar.
Great dog, went everywhere with us kids ... including swimming in the Pacific. [You don't ever want to let your swimming dog get too close, try to climb up on you and rip you with his claws though].

Thank you Lynn. We always have such fun together.
think i'm going to follow megan's lead and hop off-later
Cracker Barrel's are getting as thick as flies in the southeast(Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia) especially along the interstate highways. They originated near Nashville at Lebanon, Tn. I started eating at the second one near Manchester, Tn in 1969. Breakfast was so good I would drive 20 miles out of my way to eat there.
There is no such thing as being stupid, girlfriend!! Would you believe that I wouldn't let my girls watch Sesame Street when they were growing up because a couple of the characters called each other stupid (back in the '70's). Don't know whether they still do or not.
Thelma, check out my blog tomorrow, you have a FACIAL coming to you.
Nite Megan
Wanda, I think it was the other way around. The restaurant came first.
The Claim Jumper has a bunch of frozen stuff that looks great too, but I've got to watch my salt these days, and they don't seem to know there's a problem yet.
By the way if you're salt conscious, Morton's has a Salt Substitute that tastes just like the old NaCl, and now they have one that's like 50% Sodium and the rest is Potassium salt. Both taste great.

RED, Cracker Barrel has a policy all over the United States to allow Motor Homes to spend the night in their back parking lot. It has become very hard to find parking places and you can't always find a camp ground when you need it.
Good night, Megan. Did you get your Blacksnake dealt with today?

MARIE'S HISTORY
Wanda, I think Walmart had the same policy, letting RV's park. Good customer relations.
Wanda your family photos are very enjoyable!
Red you said you were going out for dinner..... Where did you go to eat?
Night Tbird - thanks for the heads up on the lassie movie.
Wanda - that's neat about Cracker Barrel! And maybe you'll have dinner or breakfast there too. But still a nice policy.
Going to go finish watching the Lassie movie..see ya'll in the morning!
LOL, thanks Mits
Helen, you are a walking encyclopedia!
Boy, Marie's Quonset hut brought back some ugly memories of my Marine training in San Diego and at Pendleton.

Jo. We went to a little greasy spoon local cafe. They have great grilled Tilapia and grilled shrimp, and cheap too.
I'm off to be now.
Goodnight everyone.
Orange, CA, starts just a couple of blocks north of where I am in Santa Ana now.
You just drive under the 22 Freeway, and you're there.

Red, we have been told to leave more than one Wal-Mart. City Ordanance in many towns. If they only knew how much money we spend there it might make them change their laws.
I am calling it a day/night...
Good Night Buddies of Mine
Peace to You & Yours
Prayers being said for all our needs
((hugs))
Good Night Red and Thelma.
Good Night, Jo. Mary Ellen, Elizabeth and John Boy.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SLEEP TIGHT
PRAYERS
You know, the first time I recall coming to Orange County ... to visit Knott's or Disney Land ... there were orange groves everywhere on both sides of the highway and up into the hills.
Now, you've really got to search for an orange grove in this county... still some in peoples yards, and so forth though.

GOOD NIGHT, EVERYBODY.
Have a great weekend.

Jim, guess it was the Marie's in Orange Co. I went to because I'm pretty sure we ate there after "doing" Knotts Berry Farm!
Calling it a day, eaglet friends! Hope everyone has peaceful sleep. Talk to you tomorrow. Don't forget...sloth cam at 11:30!!!
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...
Are all my Eagle Friends sleeping in? Well, good for you, that is what Saturdays are for.
There is no one home in our nest :(
MEI is curled up in a corner with a "Fort" of bamboo in front of her.
good morning wanda
Good morning Wanda. I'm checking in. You and Gene have a good day. I am going to get some breakfast. I have not forgotten checking back to find out about Norma and the animal but will be going to watch Maggie and Molly for the weekend. I don't give up.
hope to see our eagles or juvies today
Morning Thelma. Buddy and you have a good one.
morning ceil and all of my fine eagle momsters and dadsters
ceil Buddy is his usual self-we (I) didn't sleep but about 3 hours last night, how bout you?
buddy sure would like to travel to the nest and see his friends again
I am of the mind set now that Miss Norma was speaking of Polar Bears. Just not sure. Have fun with the M&M girls.
Thelma, don't forget to let Buddy out! LOL
Thelma, I have those nights, too. It is hard to function on only a few hours sleep. Then other times, I sleep like a baby. I always sleep well on FRiday nights, after spending time with my family and having a great meal. I guess my mind is at ease.
wanda-buddy is outside now sitting in the driveway-on his lead leash-watching the neighborhood like those people you see who are perfectly content sitting on their front porches in their rockers all day-totally relaxed and ready to defend the neighborhood if anyone "threatens" it. :)
helen-i'd love to meet the M&M girls!
wanda i bet your grandson sure misses you-how is he doing?
Hope you all have a good day-wish I could go buy a bunch of Megan's floweres-I'm going to go to the store and hopefully find a few yard sales along the way. Hope Sharon gets to see Tai and Mei today!!! Let's not forget the eagles. She will bring us back some good pictures, I hope!
Morning, all!
How nice to have the live feed on over the weekend!
Pretty morning here.
Loved the Lassie movie. Cried at the end!
Good morning. I am sitting in the hotel lobby. We had a hard time getting in the room last night as Jon had made reservations through hotel.com and they didn't have a clue! We finally got into the room about 10:30. Trying to get everybody motivated to get to the zoo!!!!
Jon has to be at the Basilica at 11 for rehearsal so it will probably just be 3 of us going to the zoo. Will check in later with the details of my Tai Shan, Mei Xiang and Tian Tian visit! :)
My 'puter just shut down as if someone pulled the plug. Have never had that to happen before.
Thelma...yes, Dustin told his mom he wants to come back over here,so I guess he misses us and we him. We will go get him one day next week. He was doing well, but Karla said he has thrown up a few times this week. We'll keep an eye on him. May be due to so much antibiotics in his system.
Good Morning, Sharon...
We had a simular experience at a hotel in San Diego. We made reservations, but they had no record of it. We finally got a room at 1am. We had Karla and her best friend with us, along with 12 suitcases and it wasn't easy going back and forth with all that baggage!
That should be SIMILAR.
Hey Sharon, Wish I was with you going to see Tai and maybe Mei. Have a great weekend everyone. When they get older we will bring the M&M girls to the nest.
Have the M&M girls seen the pandas yet?
Not yet Paula. Molly is still to young. I think Maggie would love the zoo. Maybe in the fall.
Ceil, I wish you were coming too. Trying to get these boys motivated. Will check in later.
Have fun, Sharon!
