Sissy, no peeps this weekend, just poops;)...No I love my hubby's family.....3 are coming from Ft Wayne, 1 from NY, 1 From FLA, and the rest from Annapolis and Braddock Heights, MD
Norma, I have been watching him this morning. I so love those bears. Mits, sorry about the poops. You will have a good weekend, I trust. My poops (in laws) are driving me crazy. Mother in law is home (thank God) but nobody wants to help. So frustrating sometimes.
Finney's nest news is that the chicks were ringed on July 10 - chicks there hatched June 9, June 10 and June 13th - so I guess there are still three....I think the baby just hunkers down in the nest more. So I guess I answered my own question.
TGIF Everyone!!!! Hello to all and Welcome Jamie!! This is a great group!
I saved a couple Finney nest pics to send Suz last night & also thought I could only see 2 juvies. One must be hunkered down. Gotta get to "banker's hours" job today, but OFF on Sat. YEAH!!!Try to check in at work later & see about Wanda.
Jo the greatgrand babies were both over yesterday. Oh such a joy to spend time with them. ( : They are 2 months apart both boy's. 5month and 7 months... They both have the same middle name. Although born to different parents both was both on a Friday. neat huh? I love the belly laughs and the jabbering. I just jabber right back to them. Get the biggest SMILES you could ever imiagne.
Magpie just called No news yet - other then Margie talked with the next door neighbor who said he/she hadn't seen them & that if the RV was gone then they were. Margie going back to Wanda's house to knock on the door & leave a note. I told her to peek in the windows!! She'll call back shortly.
Dana - great grandbabies are great. Three of mine will be coming over Tues of next week! Just awhile ago with the web cam I saw the 2 over in Germany... Cristine puts Elizabeth up to the web cam not especially for me to see but for Elizabeth to learn to know her Mema Lennox!
BEIJING -- Patrons at some restaurants in Beijing won't be able to order any canine cuisine during next month's Olympics.
Dog meat has been struck from the menus of officially designated Olympic restaurants, and Beijing tourism officials are telling other outlets to discourage consumers from ordering dishes made from dogs, the official Xinhua News Agency reported Friday.
Waiters and waitresses should "patiently" suggest other options to diners who order dog, it said, quoting city tourism bureau Vice Director Xiong Yumei.
Dog, known in Chinese as "xiangrou," or "fragrant meat," is eaten by some Chinese for its purported health-giving qualities.
Beijing isn't the first Olympic host to slap a ban on the dish. South Korea banned dog meat during the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
Has checked out the house - No RV - House closed up - everything looks good - outside light on. Said all the beans were picked! Magpie is going over to visit with Wanda's mom and will call again - in about an hour.
Ok, that's a good thing. They have just ran off for a few days. Good for them. OMG, I could not imagine eating a dog. That would be like cannibalism to me.
My dogs say the same thing. I hate cats!! The cat that adopted us is wreaking havoc on my wildlife. Just saw it right on the tail of a chipmunk that was moving really slow. ARGH!
MEI LEN at the ATLANTA ZOO is inside the play room!---ADORABLE!!---Can't decide if she will eat bamboo---take a nap in the hammock or sleep on the floor!!----ho!---will probably sleep on the top log of the hammock!!
Norma, all I can see is the bamboo rustling. We have some growing under our deck, Tom says we need a panda. I told him I don't NEED one, I want to BE one. :)
everything tastes like chicken, except chicken.....off to finish potato salad and deviled eggs....hubby is here and at the beach relaxing....so glad, he works so darn hard:) I'll check back later to see if Margy has found Gene and Wanda
Morning, gang! Welcome, Jamie! Reading thru' blogs: Where are you all seeing donkeys?? Glad Margy is checking on Wanda...at least she can't miss the RV, unless they keep it in a windowless barn like 2 of my neighbors do! Update: well, don't know what to think now...can't imagine that they would take off without telling us! We're family..... Would be nice if the Chinese and other Asian nations would ban it from the menu all together forever! Hey, Sissy...would you like to be a panda when you grow up?? LOL! Beautiful pics, Megan, as always! I agree with your opinion of cats, Sissy! Primarily because they are so independent, stuck-up and sneaky!
Cpt Gene & Wanda are ok - BUT grandson, Dustin - Karla's son, has been diagnosed with Rheumatic Fever. They are down at the hospital in Charlottesville VA. They are so thankful they took the RV - they can stay as long as they are needed. Denise - daughter - is coming down to be with Karla today. Wanda took my number and said she would call with any news. Karla had just gotten her laptop up & running. PRAYERS ARE NEEDED FOR DUSTIN & HIS FAMILY
I really felt as though something had happened because most of us post on here when we are going on a little trip! Prayers for Dustin and family for sure!
Mits, think you need to reel Jubby in to help you with the prep work!! What was the grocery store like so early in the morning? Did you have it all to yourself?
MEMA JO: You're an Angel to make this important contact with the Captain and First Mate. U-VA in Charlottesville is top notch for children's ailments
Treatment will most likely include: bed rest, severe restriction of normal activity, and medication treatment, may include Penicillins and maybe Steroids.
Google will have lots about it. It's serious, usually involves the heart and respiratory, symptoms can include heart palpitations, joint pain, abdominal pain, etc. Is treatable, but depending on severity of ailment, the illness may last 3 - 4 weeks, to 2 -3 months. University of Virginia Charlottesville, is top notch, he is in a good place, and they will take care of the family too.
Dustin is 14. Tall, lanky, active. He was a "firecracker" on July 4th.
God Bless Them, and Prayers on the Wings for our special friends.
I know our nurse folks can describe it better than I...I have a Mosby's Medical Dictionary which has an extensive entry on Rheumatic Fever.
I suspect they started out at Winchester Medical Center, and they are NOT AT ALL HESITANT about sending cases to Charlottesville, often will Medevac them...
07/10/08: A new update from the Wildlife Center of Virginia. Apparently the lesion on the beak of the Norfolk Eagle Cam eaglet has fallen off without the need of surgery. Now the experts are trying to decide what to do about the eaglet's crooked beak.
You're Welcome, Jo. It was my Eagle Mission....thanks for being my phone person....I had it scribbled on my cheat sheet from the Nest Visit, with the "real names" and monikers...
xo
Back later, going to check on elderly next door lady for a few.
Yes, Margy, thanks for doing the legwork, and Jo for the phone work and postings! Margy, was Dustin ill at all on the 4th? C/o sore throat or anything? RF usually results froma bad--often untreated--strep infection. UVA is top-notch so feel he is in very good hands.
It is rare in this day & age... When I was about Dustin's age or a few years younger I had Rheumatic Fever. Heart murmur - Bed rest was the cure that many years ago. Can't really remember any medication.. I just remember getting to stay in my parent's bedroom because I could see move from their windows! lol
Thank you all sooooooooooooo much for your concern and prayers. Margie for running all over berkley county and Jo for the call. Dustin is in great spirits. LOVING the beautiful nurses and doctors down here. He is not in any pain. They are not sure on the R-fever or Lyme disease. Testing is taking forever. But his heart has inflamation and valve leakage which is more a symptom of R-fever. We are praying for Lyme disease as R-fever will be with him forever with monthly injections of penicillan for life to prevent reoccurance that can damage his heart further. Family and friends are awesome right now and we are thankful for you all. Mother (Costume Lady) will log on soon. Thank you so much for your concern and prayers!!!!
Dustin had a high fever about 2 weeks ago but was sent home from the Dr with "take motrin and see how he is in a few days". He did not have a sore throat but Strep is not always associated with that. But - he has not had any ticks on him either. The rash started as circles on his wrist and then has moved to and big oblong mark on his back and then everywhere. It does not itch or hurt. They have treated him for both Lyme and R-fever since we got here by Eagle Express on Wednesday. The massive doses of antibiotics are helping the rash and suprisely not hurting his tummy. He is doing fine - the grown ups are going crazy!!
Karla - Do you think Dustin will be there for any length of time that we should be sending some cards? I am so thankful the Eagle Express was there for you! I know you know that you have a GREAT mom and dad!!
Yes, Karla, wonderful to get your reports. Let us know, if anything needs to be taken care of in Berkeley County, such as picking up mail, checking on Gee-Gee, and so on. Maybe us Berkeley Countians can team tag on those things if needed. Love and Prayers, and Hugs all Around.
SHARON: You will be pleased, or maybe not so pleased, to know that when I stopped by at Wanda's - I saw a rather active little squirrel in one of her trees.
I had a nice talk with the next door neighbor who endured all the problems from the storm two weeks ago!
Out to visit a sick lady friend for a little while. Take Care, all. xoxo
I can't till whether the chick that was there when parent flew in has flew off or on the other side being fed with this chick that flew in. You cam see the fish getting smaller.
Karla, Thankful that UVA is on top of everything. Of course, Lyme can be a lifelong thing too if not caught early, so glad they are treating "as if." Prayers for you all!
Our Juvie is eating brings head up looks around head back down to enjoy pulling on its food...don't know what could be turtle not sure. Have to see in shell in nest afterwards.
Anne has a bad knee & if she doesn't get it fixed before and healed, she may want on. I need to find out how many they have.... probably not enough! So you can ride on the back of mine but I get to drive.......... lol
Tiny just woke from his nap and parent just flew in plus another Juvie.....Juvie fight lots of mantling parent left them to knock it out over the fish.
The one on the right is Tiny...Paula and I figured that our earlier. He was in the nest alone after eating and took a nap. Then parent flew in with food and right behind (almost on top of parent) was the other Juvie. Maybe Pearl not sure. Tiny keeps trying to steal some food. hee hee
Ok in our nest came parent and another Juvie. While we still had a juvie in the nest. I know food was brought in. I leave it up to someone that could tell better. Who got what....
Just went thru Blog and tracked down the Wanda mystery. Thx Jo & Magpie for detective work!
My thoughts and prayers for Dustin's speedy recovery & to Karla, Wanda, Gene & all the family. Glad he got to a good place so soon. With all the rashes, it sure seems like Lymes. That can effect most body systems, but antibiotics will take care of it. Best Wishes all, Loretta
Another fish drop at Loch of Lowes by male. Funny chick got its talcon on fish and was trying to pull it away from Dad. Didn't work...Mom has fish and is feeding chick again.
Wow- well I don't want to hope Dustin has Lyme disease, but it sounds like that is the lesser of the illnesses. Hoping everything works out for them, he's young and that is definitely an advantage. Nice to see those juvies in the nest. Back out- cu later

Take Care, all.
xoxo
Oh Boy now a chick flew in wants some food busy nest here. ( :
DANA - Those Ospreys are awesome aren't they? The bird reminds me of ROYALTY !
They are really neat in this nest Margy...beautiful surroundings.
I can't till whether the chick that was there when parent flew in has flew off or on the other side being fed with this chick that flew in. You cam see the fish getting smaller.
At Loch of Lowes no Osprey in nest but you can surely hear them.
The nest is nice and shady...perfect for a little eaglet nap!
Awww I like your bunny Paula ( :
It looks like a painting in the background of the North Carolina Osprey nest. awesome
I dropped by to see Kidd and Lola boy they need a "bigger nest" lol
Thanks, Dana. That's an NCTC bunny!
Well thats why it is so "pret-ty" ( : ( :
Karla,
Thankful that UVA is on top of everything. Of course, Lyme can be a lifelong thing too if not caught early, so glad they are treating "as if." Prayers for you all!

I believe that's Tiny in the nest! Got a good look at the tail feathers.
Ok then that makes two of us...I kept watching and watching and that was my feeling but I needed someone else's opinion ty. ( :
Osprey chick in North Carolina has it's own nice "big fish" in its talcons.....
Ok laying down now in the nest after a long time of standing and looking out of nest. More comfy this way.
Returned from Post Office -Too hot to do anymore running around so I came on home
Beautiful Juvie in the shaded nest
Dana - wanted to ask you.
Open House - you want me to reserve you a scooter! Thelma (FWS) said they had them & I sure am thinking about using one!
Anne has a bad knee & if she doesn't get it fixed before and healed, she may want on.
I need to find out how many they have.... probably not enough! So you can ride on the back of mine but I get to drive.......... lol
Even as hot as it is outside - I need my 3:00 half a cup of coffee!
Loch of Lowes has a parent in nest and just now the chick flew in....awesome and neat.....lots of noise.....lol
Aww time for an eaglet nap! :)

Things are quit now at Loch of Lowes lol chick is eating..as soon as I said that parent started hee hee
Parent just flew into North Carolina with another fish...chick isn't finished the other one yet. Parent eating some..parent is FEEDING the chick..
Reserve one for yourself JO....you'll be the Momster Express lol
In the grocery store and WalMart before surgery I had to use them.
The other chick just flew into nest at North Carolina while chick and parent are still there...2 chicks and parent now.
Tiny just woke from his nap and parent just flew in plus another Juvie.....Juvie fight lots of mantling parent left them to knock it out over the fish.

Hi Thelma ( : ( : nice seeing you
Thelma live feed is working 2 juvies in our nest.
i can't tell who's who but i sure would like to see a parent again-glad live feed is up thanks
I really will if I can, Dana!!
Great Title you gave to it!!
Looks like Tiny got the second food drop as well!
The one on the right is Tiny...Paula and I figured that our earlier. He was in the nest alone after eating and took a nap.
Then parent flew in with food and right behind (almost on top of parent) was the other Juvie. Maybe Pearl not sure. Tiny keeps trying to steal some food. hee hee
Hello T-Bird
Glad your work day is over......
I am putting my head down for
1 hr before dinner.
Glad the nest is getting some
activity!
BBL
Thanks Jo-me too. How has your day been? How have my blog buddies faired on this 7-11
2nd eaglet looks like middy
Dana - Tiny got the food!
Paula are you sure did you rewind and check I thought Pearl or Middy whoever is in the nest with Tiny got it. Flew in right ontop of parent almost.
Aww, no scraps for second Juvie - Tiny really being a piggie!
See Paula I need help ID'ing them !!
Yes I rewound it and watched Dana. Parent cam in at 12, juvie came from 9ish, almost landed on Tiny
Thanks for help and keeping it straight....I would have messed that one up for sure...well I did din't I yep...
Tiny still in the nest...too full to fly...LOL probably needs another nap.
Hey Paula lol I was just thinking. I need the "slow motion version" lol
glad you ladies got that straight-hope there will be enough food for all
Male at Loch of Lowes just brought fish into female...wonder if chick will come flying in now. Mom is eating.
If Tiny would leave, there would be plenty! Usually the juvie that is in the nest makes out better than the one following the parent in!
Now Paula I got that one right. There wasn't alot of squabbling over food. Less action lol
Yep Osprey chick just flew into nest at Loch of Lowes and Mom is feeding it.
parent and juvie
Another Parent and Juvie! Tiny didn't get it this time!
oh i want to see the parent hang out more
you think i could be a little whiny
Daggone, lost the video, hope it comes back up!
Ok in our nest came parent and another Juvie. While we still had a juvie in the nest. I know food was brought in.
I leave it up to someone that could tell better. Who got what....
is the other one getting to eat now?
Just went thru Blog and tracked down the Wanda mystery. Thx Jo & Magpie for detective work!
My thoughts and prayers for Dustin's speedy recovery & to Karla, Wanda, Gene & all the family. Glad he got to a good place so soon. With all the rashes, it sure seems like Lymes. That can effect most body systems,
but antibiotics will take care of it. Best Wishes all, Loretta
Another fish drop at Loch of Lowes by male. Funny chick got its talcon on fish and was trying to pull it away from Dad. Didn't work...Mom has fish and is feeding chick again.
Is it just me or is RP down?
Paula mine is still going
Wow- well I don't want to hope Dustin has Lyme disease, but it sounds like that is the lesser of the illnesses. Hoping everything works out for them, he's young and that is definitely an advantage. Nice to see those juvies in the nest. Back out- cu later
My RP is still running too.
See big juvie still in nest on refresh cam.
Nice to see you dropping in again Megan ( :
Thelma parent doesn't want to hang around in our nest. With all that fighting over food lol
My Live Cam is down :-(
My live feed won't come up. Poop.
Well thanks- Dana:) ran in to get a drink and check on the dog- daughter went to a sleepover and he is pouting.... looks like one juvie left. later-
