Dana, we don't go out on New Years Eve any more, either. We did for many years, but the roads have gotten so dangerous that I feel more comfortable at home.
We rent a bunch of movies and have something real special for dinner.
Last year we had a picnic dinner in front of the fireplace. Tonight we are having stuffed cornish hens. And a partridge in a pear tree.

Just got back from visiting Deb's photos and shows. It was a wonderful trip you took me on Deb. Thank you. I even had to re-look at ones I had already seen. They are so so good. Full screen set back relax awwwww wonderful .
Good Morning Mits.
We are in for New Years Eve. Watch the ball come down in Time Square.
Family comes in and stays overnight. We start with our shrimp and marconi salad or potato salad. Whichever they want. Start playing cards. Lots of laughter. Later hit the olives, pickles, meats, cheeses and crackers and alittle wine. I like it this way no one gets drunk. We just enjoy each others company from the old into the new year. THEN SLEEP!! lol
When we get up we have a great breakfast together.
I am glad you enjoyed them, Dana. I am on my way to check on my eagles. I want to do it before the frigid wind hits tonight. Windchills of -20. ICK! I am not looking forward to it. A week of warm air was nice. The eagles will stay here as long as they can get food. I hope the river doesn't freeze over completely.

Isn't it just wonderful eagle buddies. We have Glo that takes pictures of eagles when they come in near her place. Making wonderful video and slideshows for us to see.
We have Bob Quinn that shares his photos with us.
Now we have Deb who also shares her photos. Makes slideshows and videos.
We are waiting to see what Dave is bringing back after the New Year he said.
We have Genie with the photos of the redhill (I think) cranes.
WOW ARE WE EVER BLESSED!! Others also going out and taking pictures. Of the visits, their lives and etc.
WOW What a great year we have had with all this and watching cams. And still getting some work done around the house. lol
We mean't in person new people. Had new people that have come into the blog that we are meeting in blog comments.
We've shared sorrows and happiness. With people we've mean't and others we haven't but feel like we have.
From the bottom of my heart "thank you one and all" for being part of my 2007 year. It is "GREAT" knowing I'll have you wonderful friends in 2008.

Good Morning all and HAPPY NEW YEAR! Its going to be a good one I can just feel it. Yes I have the hot rollers in and the eggs are on to boil. I'm dressed and its still dark outside and cold. Wet and cold. It will go on like this until the last of Feb. Oh well I count my blessing for my family and friends. What a full year 2007 has been. So many wonderful things happened in my life and I lived through the things sent to me for lessons. There are times when I wasnt sure I was going to but I am thankful for the lessons too.I will be reading today at work and then heading for home before the crazys come out to play. Did I tell you guys my daughter got her engagement ring for Christmas. Oh its beautiful. She needs a wagon to carry it around in. Boy its big . I'm thrilled for her. She so deserves it. Happy New Years eve all
It has been a very productive year 2007, I met some absolutely wonderful ladies and gentlemen thru this group, we are blessed Tori and I. It all began in March when I first discovered the NCTC blog and eagle pair.
I made some friends lost some friends went thru life and death, growth, and love. Found hope within this lovely group with all your prayers for my family and other families. There is so much love here it makes me want to cry because the feeling can be so overwhelming.
I also am grateul to my parents, they have always been there for me and I am quite sure I didn't always say I'm sorry or thank you enough, know how much I love you.
And my daughters recovery was the highlight of this year knowing she will get better over the next few years. And Dan for coming back into my life, I have never felt so safe, protected, content and complete.
I hope everyone gets what they need in 2008, I am so looking foward to what is ahead of me in 2008.

Just posted email on Momsters - I think you will all receive it but just in case there are bloggers who are not Momsters:
I contacted Tom this morning to inquire about Sandra. If you're sending cards to the hospital, include her room # 242. Sandra is not ready to accept visitors yet - she tires easily. You may send messages to her email address ssosbourn@frontiernet.net as she now has a Blackberry thanks to Dillon, her son. Tom said that he has been up to see his mother every day. Sandra may not return or respond to our emails but she will know how much we are thinking of her and praying for her recovery.
Good News:The physical therapist on Saturday was working with Sandra's left leg. She reported that all muscles were functioning!
Left arm is getting some feeling returned. She can feel Tom rubbing her arm and has had a prickly tingling in her pinky. She isn't able to apply pressure like squeeze someone's hand.But it is coming to that I am certain. Sandra is able to feed herself and is swallowing through a straw to drink her tea. No word yet as to being released. She is where the best care can be given.

Went to breakfast with my husband after getting my blood tested, did some things about town, and got home in time for Sandra's Power Prayer time. It sounds like it is working. That was good news JO that you gave us earlier in the day. I just hope and pray that she keeps getting the strength and healing we are sending her way so she can soon be home with her mom and Tom.
Squigs looks like she is on the move again. She is awake and looking like she is thinking up something to get into next. :)
ZZ seems to be trying to come off the logs. Will she make it? Right now it seems as if her front legs are on one side of log and back are on the other; stuck like. Here she gooooeeeesssssss!Nope, not yet. Seems to be sniffing it out. Cam is real close up on her now. Come on ZZ, you can do it. She is over log, but is looking like she doesn't know what to do nest. :) The liggle buzzer.
Well, what a big girl. She got herself down and is now with Bai. There they go. It must be lunch time.
One lonely eagle at BWO. Our nest is MT, Pa.is MT. Maine nest is still a white out, Squigs and Bai were having a fun time rolling and playing. BWE is MT.
Santa Cruz nest is MT. The only things moving are the SD pandas. I guess I had better check on the NZ pandas.

Thanks, Jo. I still can't believe I got that close. I think I could have gone closer, but I always worry about upsetting them, so I try to stay my distance. I have a 300mm lens on my camera, so can get good shots without bothering the eagles too much. I finished working on the rest, will post probably tomorrow.

Got Matt [son] and his girlfriend here, so we are having drinks and fireworks in the garden, just watched the wonderful display of firworks on the TV in London over the Thames, really sectacular, I would of liked to have been there.
It's tofsar away from where I live though, I live near Worcester and London is a 2 hour train journey away.

CHRISSY It sounds like you are having a very nice start to 2008; with son and girlfriend there with you. Mine is in Winchester,Va. up towards alot of our Eagle Momsters, so it is just my husband and I ringing in the new year. It is very quiet here where I live. I'm afraid if we both sit down, we'll be asleep and miss the change. :) The older you get, the harder it is to stay awake.

MITS My husband and I should have gone to mass tonight, but no, we will go tomorrow to the 9am mass. So I will miss out on all the gab for most of tomorrow am, but I'm going to try to be up for our eagles visit.
MITS I like it quiet too. We haven't gone out for many years now. Most of the time my husband had to work and that was ok by me. I hate getting into that mess. I'd rather be comfortable in my pj's watching the ball drop on my tv.
we didn't have much choice for mass, either tonight at 5 or tomorrow at noon, so we went tonight so we cam watch the parade tomorrow

I was on my own till Matt and Natalie came in as Frank is on nightshift tonight, but I still had a drink, we call the first man to come through the door at New Year " FIRST FOOTINGS" and he is to bring in a lump of jet black coal and we meet him at the door with a glass of Whiskey, I dont know where that tradition comes from but it's done all over this country and has been for centuries,
I think it started in Scotland ???

Maybe I had better take Chrissy's advice, curl up on the couch with a drink for the toast in hand and have a go at welcoming in the new year. Anyone have toothpicks to keep my eyes open?:)
We won't have anyone come in our door to bring coal, but let me grab some money! Boy I could sure use some for new hard wood floors throughout my house here at the beach. Our carpet has just about had it.
I used to remember the coal truck delivering coal to my house when we burned it in the furnace. I can still hear the coal swishing down the shoot into the cellar. I can also remember the ice man coming around for the ice boxes, and all the children trying to get bits of ice to suck on. Those were the days.
Pleant of toothpicks here pet,, but only for the use of cherries and olives to put into drinks !!!!

Mind you pet,,I remember as a child on the farm delivering milk from a churm on the back of a horse and cart, going from door to door and leaving milk in jugs on door steps with a voil cover with beads on to cover the jugs.

Good evening all. Original plans were for Mattie, Justin, Andrew and I to go to Thelma's to bring in the new year, but we are supposed to have some snow tonight and I have to work tomorrow, so I am at home with all of them. I am grateful to see this year come to an end in the hopes that 2008 will bring happy times for all of us.

I missed the cat too. I finally turned off that site. Was also hoping that our birds would come to the nest to celebrate the new year, but I guess not.

She is sitting in the egg cup and it fits her very well.
She's making some adjustments to the cup....must not be quite right.
She is just sitting in the middle of the nest doing nothing but looking from side to side.
Now we have 2...we are complete.
