May our blessings be many and remember the REASON of the SEASON-----------MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL--AND TO ALL GOOD NIGHT--CAPT. EAGLE
Beautiful shot of our eagles Steve thanks and Merry Christmas to you.
I just finally finished baking and grinding for the dressing. :( Haven't had any time to look on here at all today. It is still good to know that we had at least two visits to our nest today.
Midnight mass is next. so am going to check emails and get a short Panda nap before hand.
Here's wishing you all A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY AND HEALTY 2008.
Hey NORMA, I'll be listening for reindeer hoofs prancing on my rooftop tonight. :) Hope you get to see our eagles.
Capt. Eagle, you said it all so very nicely. There is a reason for the season. May you all be doubly blessed as you go about visiting your families. Stafe one and all.
Merry Christmas Eve all! I was hoping to log on with some BW Christmas photos but it was a complete bust today. Not a single keeper. I did get a few along Egypt Road on the way in to BW:
BOB....not a complete bust. Your hawks are beautiful. Are they all hawks? I didn't recognize what the white and black bird was. It has the shape of a hawk, but I have never seen one with that coloring. Thank You for sending those along to us. A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOURS.
NORTHERN HARRIER....Maybe that is what the BW eagles were dining on the other day. We couldn't figure out what it was, but it had a lot of white and black. I have never seen or heard of this bird, but it sure is a beauty.
Good evening everyone... Have a beautiful Christmas Eve and a Cool Yule...
I like your hawks, Bob. We have many Red-Tails in So Cal, although they are a darker phase with darker underwings and bellies. We also have another variety of Harrier, which I have seen a few times in the mountains near Ramona and Julian. They not only can fly very low and slow while hunting, but they can hover for a considerable amount of time.
It's the night before Christmas and it is a Silent Night in Eagleland. The stars are brightly shining for the birthday of a King! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF MY EAGLE LOVERS!
COOKING IS ALL DONE, GIFTS ARE ALL BAGGED, HAIR IS WASHED AND CURLED. NOW ALL I NEED IS SOME SLEEP AND I'LL BE ALL SET FOR FAMILY TOMORROW. WISHING YOU ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS AS I SIGN OFF TO GO TO BED.
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap, had just settled down for a long winter's nap, when out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash, tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below, when, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer, with a little old driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, and he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen! on, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall! Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, when they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky, so up to the house-top the coursers they flew, with the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof the prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around, down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot, and his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back, and he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, and the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth, and the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly, that shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf, and I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head, soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, and filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk, and laying his finger aside of his nose, and giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, and away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight, "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU. It is going to be a beautiful day. I hope we all have wonderful stories to share with each other, Many of us are traveling to be with family and friends; Travel Mercies are being said for your safe journey. ENJOY THE DAY!

Mits, are you with your grandbabies now or will that be tomorrow? Give the M&M sisters an extra hug from me.
I think those are northern harriers with the white stripe on the tail.
My Christmas to all of my Fine Feathered Friends at NCTC. Christmas would be a wonderful time to do one of those random acts of kindness. AOYP
Wanda, that will be tomorrow:):):) was with them yesterday also, as Molly was baptized:)
NORTHERN HARRIER....Maybe that is what the BW eagles were dining on the other day. We couldn't figure out what it was, but it had a lot of white and black. I have never seen or heard of this bird, but it sure is a beauty.
It's a kind of hawk. I see them a lot at BW. They're tough to photograph because they fly low as they hunt for mice and other ground prey.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE, MERRY CHRISTMAS!
looks like one of Santa's' reindeer has stopped for a break at PA.
