Harbinger: Liberty is still in the nest at the 12 o'clock position. The male is the smaller of the two. Belle is much larger. Sometimes we are wrong in ID'ing them - we're always certain when they are both visible.
Liberty & Belle really have not left this nest - We are told that due to the river not freezing - they will probably stay all year.

I actually grew up in Brooklyn on Brooklyn Avenue between Jeffery St. and 6th St., which is about as far sounth as you can be and still be in Baltimore city. Now I am about as far north as you can be and still be in Baltimore City.

Indeed it is a small world.

I'm so happy to see everyone again!
It's been a difficult fall with my mother falling ill the end of October and passing away last week.

This is the first time I've had in ages to sit down and look at the net. This was one of the first places I checked and was so happy to see our eagles safe and sound at home!

Harbinger said...

Then I haven't missed too much just from the 6th.
What a treat to find them both in the nest the first timeI checked!!

MITS said...

Yes, Harbinger, I know it well, Sorry for your lose, you are in my prayers.

Anonymous said...

Harbinger sorry to hear of your Moms passing. It a hard thing to loose someone.

Glad you came here to see the eagles. They can surely lift ones spirits.

Anonymous said...

Harbinger you ever drive up this way?

Anonymous said...

Harbinger,
So sorry to hear about your Mom.

(((hugz)))

Anonymous said...

Eagle all gone!

Anonymous said...

Seems like all morning when they both leave. They come back again to the nest. Maybe shortly could be later but they have been back and forth all day so far.

Harbinger said...

Thanks all! I really appreciate your kind concern.

Yes, it does lift the spirit to see that our eagles are home.

I'll really be looking forward to new babies for this amazing pair.

Anonymous said...

Harbinger the reason I ask if you ever drive up this way (Shepherdstown). Is because some of us are getting together for a lunch. That is why I was asking about drivng????

Harbinger said...

I can't do too much dring because of a bad knee. For long trips, I usually have the hubby along to drive. When is the lunch?

Anonymous said...

Harbinger, I am sorry to hear of your loss and I think it is good for you to be here with us.

BW eagle still very busy in nest.
Harbinger If you want other eagle sites just bring up beakspeak.com which lists all of them. OR you can find them on the Momsters site.

Anonymous said...

I know we all raved about how beautiful Frieda (falcon) was, but the pattern of an eagle's feathers up close is breathtaking.

Anonymous said...

Harbinger It is Sat. Dec 16th at 1 pm we made reservations so there is a count being taken. If you need hubby to drive you then I can put 2 or 1 down if you can come.
Doing a cut off date around the 14th Thursday so we can get the count in. My email addy is

West_Va_gal@yahoo.com

Hi all. I am home from work but actually very tired. I do want to thank Dana for saving some photos for me while I was at work. I will be adding them to the Loop i started last night. I will change the date iin the loop title and let you know what number starts the photos added for today. Looks like there was quite a lot of good eagle viewing time today. They are so very beautiful.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Good evening everybody. Weekend with Andrew and Balei (girlfriend)went very well. I got to see Liberty and Belle today. It has been a good day.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Okay, can't stand the silence anymore. Where is everybody?

Anonymous said...

BOO

Anonymous said...

Oh Christmas Tree -- Hi Sharon and Meme Jo!

Anonymous said...

I know what you mean. I have had 3 hours of silence and 2 hours or so of no cams & sleeping pandas.
Did you know it got dark in FL later then it does in MD or WV?

I have been beating solitaire - 2 times in 20 minutes. I have been indulging in sugar cookies & coffee. I have been watching some TV-but nothing to keep me interested.

SO - How are you?
Raven won! Mits shall have had a good day.

Anonymous said...

OK Sharon - There are 2 'anybodys' on the blog.. Where did you go?

Hi Vicky and your beautiful tree

Anonymous said...

Nilla may have gone by the nest after her family dinner today - They weren't in the nest too much this afternoon or evening but they may have been up on the branches waiting for her! Anxious to hear from her.

Anonymous said...

Yeah Sharon, where'd you go??? You got our attention and then you left!

Anonymous said...

ooooooooooooo I got wax!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Sharon & VIcky if you are not gong to talk to me - I am going to give you the silent treatment starting right after this comment.

Anonymous said...

Ha Ha! I think you got the wax before you knew you got the wax!!

Anonymous said...

Now you know Sharon was gone if she didn't get the wax!

Anonymous said...

Oh Dear, that sounded like a threat Mema Jo!

Anonymous said...

Yep, Sharon is out of the house! Sure hope Nilla gets in here with good news of our eagles!

Anonymous said...

You're right about that. Probably cleaning out all those emails from Mits and me.

That one poem about Christmas was really good, wasn't it Vicky.

Anonymous said...

Vicky I am heading in to watch a TV show for an hour.... BBL

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

No I am home. Been watching Monster-In-Law, had to let the dogs out, talking to Andrew about his weekend, reading the Sunday paper, etc. Glad I am not alone anymore! :):):)

Anonymous said...

Yes Mema Jo, that Christmas poem was right on target! Thank you, again!

MITS said...

Silent Night....in here tonight, just got back from dinner, Jo the game was not on the D.C. channels so I didn't get to watch it, but heard that they won, was doing some decorating before we went to dinner....I have way to many snowmen to put around the house, but I do love them.

MITS said...

I'm glad the visit went so well, Sharon:)

Anonymous said...

If you get a chance, go in and read the Panda Cub Updates and there is the link for the video exam she had. She is 95 days old today. No more name votes after tonight and then on the 15th we will know the official name for our little Buta Buta!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Mits, what did you have good for supper?

MITS said...

Rigatoni Puttenesca....yummy.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Rigatoni what?

MITS said...

I KNEW YOU WOULD ASK THAT....ITS LIKE, chopped tomatoes, olives anchovys capers and a bunch of stuff, but it is not a sauce that is like spagetti sauce.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I am glad it was good, I wouldn't touch it myself. I am a picky eater. I did make spaghetti for dinner yesterday and bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and oven toast for brunch today. It all turned out really good consider I am not a cook!

MITS said...

Now that's what I'm talking about....BRUNCH.....sounds delicious!!!!!

They were very nice musta been the Christmas Spirit..lol Any ways after some conversation i asked i we could drive back there drive way.. Jo sorta like in back of the tree , remember Jo when i took you in the jeep around back close to there , well my sister was so excited( she has alot of birds a big blue parrot named Nellie who talks your head off) any ways there we were and i heard some bird chatter, i had my binoculars with me and low and behold i spotted them.. and your right up on the higher branch where they sat to watch the nest... Ohhh so excited had to share my binoculars, but what a day it was , they sat there for what seemed like 20 minutes and 1 fleww off in direction of river.. I had read about the family - it was so very tragic. Sometimes it is hard to understand God's way but hopefully they are all together in the sleep of peace in heaven above.

Good Morning all. I have been up since 4 am my time. can't get back to sleep. Found out from my daughter last night that Eric's Dad lies in ahospital gravely ill and literally fighting for his life. Several Dr.s will be meeting this morning to decide about a surgery which is pretty much his only chance of survival. He had cancer removed from his neck area about 3 1/2 years ago, and some more cells flared up about the same time as the adoption was completed last year. He seemed to get through the second surgery OK for the last few months but last week he developed a staph infection which has spread down next to his carotid artery..."a main artery in your neck. " If it gets there it will kill him. They may call in a bone specialist, nerve and muscle and plastic surgeon, dig it all out and reconstruct the whole area. It will be very long extensive and major. No guarantee of survival through the surgery, but NO survival any length of time without it. The family of course is in crisis Dad lives here in IL I guess I will know more after todays meeting with the Drs. Eric is prepared to make an emergency flight out here to be with his Dad. Becky and Elia then are flying to join him Dec 27. Becky will then also have her hands more than full on the other end as they are both Music Teachers. All of the " Winter " concerts are next week etc. Their schedules are full when they each have 2 to do in a week. she will have 4 and the baby and the stress of long distance or "hop the plane and fly any minute to join Eric " also sitting on her shoulders. The Dad's name is Jim Those of you who pray and also if you have prayer chains or whatever in your churches, coul dyou hold this man up in your prayers. He is in his mid to late 50's.

Ok gonna go make some tea, and get that caffeine flowing. Lots to do today and Eagles are a wonderful reality "there is beauty all around" I will definitely be going there for a hwile this morning.

Anonymous said...

Hi Suzanne they sure are pretty in that light. Been in mail doing emails and then went to cams. Now I come in here and see you spotted eagle then eagles at BW.

There are eagles in Florida of course she is down in the nest. You can see her moving.

Glo "Special prayers being sent for Eric's dad John". May Angel Watch Over Him...and guide the doctors minds and hands.

Anonymous said...

Thanks Suzanne and Dana I have gotten some of those "have to do today things " taken care of here. soon it will be coffee and dog treats time. Couple of errands and I am heading to the river.

Yes the nest is so clear, and absolutely perfectly angled. Its gonna be another great day week month and eagle Season year here on this cam. How very fortunate we all are. Will Blog some later.
