Suzanne said...

Thank you, Steve! Drive safely when coming down here, these drivers leave a lot to be desired!!

Thanks Mits, for the heads up.

Brought over from previous thread.

Dana, the BW eagle cam has been turned on. That's the one with the spot in the center. I emailed Lisa and asked her when they move the cam, if they can also clean the lens.

GLO, prayers for Erics' Dad

Mits said...

Thanks, Suz, I was going to tell them the same thing:):):) Going to get some java!!

Mits said...

Eagle did take a 5 min break in FLA this a.m.

Good morning all my eagle friends.

Glo, lots of prayers will be going up for Eric's dad, Jim. You just never know what life is going to hand you on any given day. We don't realize how fortunate we are until we hear of someone like this.

To Nilla's post on the last page about the family lost in a fire. On November 20, 1980, my sister's 2 children, her best friend and her best friend's little girl all perished in a trailer fire. My thoughts and prayers are definitely with this family. I have to keep in mind that everything happens for a reason, sometimes we never know what the reason is but there is a reason. God bless them all! Don't mean to put the blog on a downer but just wanted to share that.

Eagle back in osprey nest!

Anonymous said...

Morning again Suzanne, hi Mits, Sharon and Glo who went to take dogs a walk. Or the dogs went to take Glo for a walk.

Glo I said it on the other blog. Yes I will keep Eric's dad Jim in prayer. May Angels Watch Over Him and guide the doctors mine and hands.

Sharon God does allow things we sometimes understand. Then there are those happenings that just have no explanation. Yet "God is still in charge".

Anonymous said...

Thanks Suzanne for writing to Lisa about the spot in the eagle cam in BW.

No happenings in OUR nest as of this morning yet.

Mits said...

I was suprised to see that story on our DC channels, so very sad, my mind cannot wrap around why this would happen and why bad things happen to good people. I know that must have been a devasting loss for your family, Sharon.

Anonymous said...

Poor Ed he wants to know what I want for Christmas. He doesn't like any of my answers. So I have to figure out things for him to get me that I know he wants to get me. Does this make sense to you all??? It sure doesn't to me lol...

Mits said...

Its raining at the FLA nest.

Suzanne said...

Morning, Dana, Mits and Sharon. And anyone else out there lurking, like maybe Mits' sister.

Sharon, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Hugs to you and your sister!

Suzanne said...

Eagle just left osprey nest! Still nothing in our nest, BW nest MT, still dark in Kent.

eagle-eyed sharon said...

Dana, my dad used to decide what he was going to get Andrew for Christmas, then talk Andrew into wanting that the most for Christmas!

Mits said...

Maks sense to me:):):).

Anonymous said...

This is so funny I have Maine up no eagles, but crows are calling to one another. On the BW Osprey cam is a fishcrow lol .... yep I can say I heard it calling. lol lol

Anonymous said...

Sharon you mentioned Mattie stays with you sometimes. She is a child of your sisters?

So sorry for you, your family, and your sister Sharon.

Anonymous said...

Sharon Ed isn't interested in talking me into wanting anything. He just wants a list and it better not be the things I already said.

Things that are just for me. I can't think of a thing!!!!! grrrr
What a problem to have huh.

Mits said...

Stopped raining in FLA.

Suzanne said...

Hey, Dana, how about a big flat screen computer monitor? Just think of the cams you could have up!

Mits said...

Now your talking, Suz, Dana that would be great!!!

Anonymous said...

Oh I know Suzanne the old monitor was not LCD screen but flat it was 17 inch oh I got to see alot more. This new computer I brought off of Ed's cousin has an LCD screen that is 15inch. I thought this was my Christmas present but he says no! I told him this is too..He has final answer which is no, but I can't spend too much because this cost us at a time that wasn't convient. So have to watch the money...

OOPPPSsss just got call from doctors office changing my appt. today from 2:40pm to 11:30 this morning have to get my butt off the cams and eat and get ready.

I'll be in and out till time to go.

Suzanne said...

Well, just a thought. Fish crow in osprey nest, other nests are MT, still dark in Kent.

Suzanne said...

Fish crow all gone.

Good luck at the Dr's office, Dana!

eagle-eyed sharon said...

Mattie is actually my great-niece (and she really is great too). She called me at midnight and again at 12:40 crying, wanting to come here with me, so I drove down the hill and picked her up. She went right to sleep after she got here. We live like 1/10 of a mile from each other, if that much.

eagle-eyed sharon said...

If I had someone asking me what I wanted for Christmas, I would definitely say a 19-inch flat screen monitor. Staples has one on sale for $189, which is quite the deal! Then I wouldn't be juggling that much for space to work through my cameras. :):):)

Suzanne said...

Wow, Sharon, that's a good deal at Staples!

Suzanne said...

They let the dogs out at Kent, spotlight is on.

Suzanne said...

Eagle eating breakfast in osprey nest.

Anonymous said...

Hi Norma

Well we should certainly get to see into the BW eagle nest. Shouldn't we? neat

Anonymous said...

Speaking of Buta Buta oh my look how she has grown. So pretty ( :

Tai is a sweetie just has his antics. lol That's what makes him Tai.

Suzanne said...

Eagle back in BW eagle nest. Rearranging sticks. Lisa said she spoke to their cam tech, and he/she thought the fuzzy on the screen was condensation. She said it clears as the day progresses. She may be right, it's smaller now than it was. But she asked him to see if he could eliminate it when he repositions the cam. Their cam is in a box, so the eagles won't get to it, and that may be what's causing the condensation.

Just refreshed, eagle gone. They'll be back, I'm sure.

Anonymous said...

Suz,
They put a box around it so the eagles would stop perching on the actual cam and knock it out of alignment!

Suzanne said...

Getting daylight in Kent.

normabyrd said...

FL EAGLE--foggy---Will we ever see anything there?---I think they like their privacy----Can see skyline in Kent----

normabyrd said...

MY POST JUST WENT NUTS!!!!!---Just kept rolling very fast & I couldn't stop it------

normabyrd said...

SUZANNE---You are right----You can see the top of the Eagle's head in FL----But that's it---CONGRATULATIONS---You just won the 50 lb. WAX---I keep thinking SHARON would come in for it---

Mits said...

Good Morning to All my Friends
Beautiful day here in the valley. My prayers are offered up for all of you and all of your needs in your daily lives.
Too many cams & too little screen is what I am hearing! lol
Be sure you read the Panda Cub update for yesterday. Buta Buta should be 96 days old today. #100 day is a coming & she'l have an official name which we won't worry about using!
I'm off to see if I can find some eagles...

Mits said...

eagle at osprey BW cam.

Suzanne said...

OMG, not the wax thing! I'll donate to the IL gals!

Eagle in osprey nest!

Suzanne said...

Morning, Mits and MemaJo and Normabyrd. Norma, I can't get the FL eagle cam, so I don't count that one when I'm viewing. Our nest has been MT all day!

normabyrd said...

BEAUTIFUL EAGLE TOO---Maybe she doesn't know there is an eagle nest there----

normabyrd said...

TWO EAGLES AT FL---Lots of action going on!!

Suzanne said...

Oh she knows. Lisa said there are several nesting pairs of eagles in BW. I asked her once if the eagles that we see on the osprey cam are the same ones from their eagle cam. She said she couldn't be sure because there were several pairs nesting there. None migrate.

normabyrd said...

SUZANNE---Can you get BW?---Eagle is still there on Osprey nest---If that wasn't her nest---She wouldn't go there--Right?

Suzanne said...

Yes, Norma, I get both the eagle and osprey nests at BW. And I'm not sure which nest you're talking about, but no, don't believe an adult eagle would infringe (and get away with it) another adult eagle's nest. The eagles are just using the osprey nest as a rest stop and restaurant. They won't be around on that nest when the migrating osprey's return!

normabyrd said...

SUZANNE---That's what I thought--Are you still seeing eagles on your way to work----How far are you from Shepherdstown?---I am going to try to come to lunch---Few of us went to see the "EAGLE" tree in July---I thought I had died & gone to heaven---Our eagles just kept soaring---But we went to dinner together---SUCH fun meeting the people you talk with everyday------Hope lots of us can get together---

Suzanne said...

Normabyrd, I only see ground critters when I come to work, it's dark outside! Can't see anything flying, and only thing that would be at that hour of the day are night flyers. I see large birds going home, but I think they're all those bloody sanitation engineers! I don't see any by themselves anymore, they'res usually at least 2 or more.

I live in Mont Alto, PA, takes about an hour and 15-20 minutes to get to Shepherdstown. I'm planning on going to the lunch also. Should be nice. I also want to go to the nest, probably before lunch. Hope the gate is open. I'm looking forward to meeting some people too.

normabyrd said...

SUZ---I am not with the program all the time--ho!---I thought you had changed hours--& going to work at noon----I knew you used to go early a.m.---skunks, etc.---We have eagles along South Branch (Potomac River)-----Any time you go up "River Road"---you see eagles----

normabyrd said...

MITS---CHECK OUT TAI---Lying on sidewalk w/mom---& nursing---BLESS HIS LITTLE "DEVIOUS" HEART----LOVE HIM!!!

Anonymous said...

Many heartfelt thanks for ALL wax donations to IL!!! That's the Christmas spirit -- giving!

Suzanne said...

No, Normabyrd, same hours... unfortunately. Come to work at o dark thirty, leave here around 12:30 ish to head home. LOL, yes, must admit though, haven't seen the skunks lately. They (or one) was out there a couple weeks ago. Didn't see him, but could smell that he'd been around. But now that it's getting cold, I've kind of picked up another regular feral cat. Used to come by occassionally, but now I see him everyday. So in the am I usually see either my tuxedo cat, Kitty Tat, or the gold male. So haven't seen the opossum or skunk!! I'm kinda glad about that!! The ol' heart can't take those critter shocks at that hour of the day! (But I still sneak a peek out my door before opening it all the way to leave.)

normabyrd said...

SUZANNE----I get several "Wildlife" magazines---I always read articles re: deers in road, etc.----Most say save money & don't buy any of the gadgets advertised to warn deers---The only thing to do is drive slow & stop if see deer, etc.----We have lots of deer-car accidents in this area too---

Mits said...

FLA CAM..NOW THAT'S A CLOSE-UP

Mits said...

Darn, Lynda just pulled it back

Mits said...

OK BOTH IN FLA, REARRANGING STICKS.

Going out for awhile.. Keep blogging so I know what has gone on when I get back.

Suzanne said...

Somebody is in the NCTC NEST!!! First time today.

Anonymous said...

Thanks Mits - not going anywhere just now... I think it is Liberty.... Looks small - As you know -unless they are together I am just guessing.

Anonymous said...

BLUE STREAK

Mits said...

SUZANNE, I think I read on the blog the other day when the eagles are in "our" nest we will just say something like EAGLE ALERT and that means it is NCTC nest, because we watch so many different ones.

Suzanne said...

LOL, Normabyrd my sister bought one of those things that is supposed to be above our hearing for the deer, but it didn't work. I've also read where nothing works, so I drive slow enough that if I see one (or 3 like the other day), I can stop and let them cross. Had one last year look in my driver's window and it scared me to death. Didn't hit it, he had stopped crossing the road, and I had stopped driving waiting for his buddy to get off the road. He just sorta walked up to the car and looked in the window! Then I just sorta slowly drove off. Couldn't put my foot on the gas, my knees were water and I was shaking!

Mits said...

All morning nest pic has been clear...eagle comes in and bam...bad pic???

Mits said...

Ok, a little better now.

normabyrd said...

I MISSED IT----Maybe next time--DARN--DARN--DARN!!No more phone calls for me--VICKY--SUZANNE has some WAX for you---ho! ho!------

Mits said...

It probably is Liberty, does look smaller.

Suzanne said...

Ok, Mits. Too many posts to read everything from this weekend. Maybe later. So eagle alert it is.

Time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle day. Dang, this is the first time somebody showed up there, and now it's time for me to leave. Cam's doing funny things. Lines and washing out.

Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!

Anonymous said...

Norma You haven't missed our eagle - get our cam up -

If you F5 when our cam messes up it will sometimes clear the pic

Suzanne said...

He's still there Norma. Mits, hit refresh a couple times, it clears up the pic!

Outta here for real.

Anonymous said...

SUZANNE
Get up the road & get that computer up!

Suzanne said...

Suzanne said...

Our new kids this season are still going to be able to hide from us on the edge of the nest around 7 or 8:00 position. Just like before when we can only see some tail feathers - It was most exciting & interesting when we were expecting the fledging to happen.

NORMA Do you have our cam up yet?

Anonymous said...

Mits - Hope you are taking pics for GLO because I got so excited seeing Liberty that I forgot all about it...
