I had a small bowl of cobbler and guess what? I lost two pounds yesterday. Just stopped the sausage and biscuits for breakfast and cut down on the taters. I think I have it figured out now.
GOOD FOR YOU RED! I lost 3 lbs and was so happy. I'm just mainly cutting down on portion size. We eat pretty healthy foods, but sometimes not, like, I love sausage in my stuffed peppers.
Helen, I was having problems with the blogger cop before the new thread too. Late last night I was having problems with the internet but we were having storms close by and some equipment may have been down.

I thought Vicky had lost weight, but wasn't sure. Didn't want to embarass her or myself by asking. She looked great. Thought she had a new hairdo or something!

Great photos Deb. Golly gal you must take time to get over here this winter to see and take photos of the eagles. bring Mary with. I have room. You use the gas to get here. I will supply the room and board and gas to take you to The best spots I know of
I know you love getting out to photograph and love it also to know there are folks to share those awesome captures with.
That would be nice, Glo, but will have to see what gas prices do. I have 4 trips scheduled starting with Pierre this weekend, then WV, Rapid City and my niece's wedding in CA in January.
I know Deb I hear ya with the gas prices. At least its looking like winter is gonna be the cheapest Ha ha thats a laugh, but anyway less expensive time to try to travel. Its cheaper than going to Alaska and if we time it right I can show you just as many eagles in one place.

What a beautiful Fall day this was to take a drive. The trees are starting to turn and the Sugar Maples are fire red & orange. I pushed my little Sun Roof open and turned on my IL DIVO CD (which give me goose bumps) and as I watched the leaves tumble around on the highway, I felt like a young girl again. I must do that more often! GeeGee was feeling great...has gained 3 pounds.(That must be the 3 that I lost!) I took her some egg salad and some rolls, also took some ham, but doubted that she would eat it. Well, to my surprise, she ate the ham but not the egg salad....who knew? She wants me to come to dinner Friday and wants to try Applebees. Another great visit. Hope you all are enjoying this beautiful day.
Yes, Jo,the nest is beautiful even though it is empty. Thank you NCTC.
Hello all you snoozers!! Had lunch out agian today, and then routine chest x-ray before Drs. apptmt. next week. Warmer today, but no sun to speak of now. Leaves are really starting to get pretty. Deb, pics are great, as usual. You look like a queen in your kayak! Whoa--Anne Marie heads out tomorrow! Bet she is excited. Can't wait til the 18th to see "old" friends and meet more of you all!
got an e-mail from Loraine just now, re: Star and Spirit nest
I'm trying to find that out now. I sent another message to the WDFW cam people to find out but haven't heard back yet. It may help if everyone else does too. I'd be curious what their answer is...
The eagles are here frequently, they were again this morning. They do add to the nest occasionally. I can see sticks showing in CAM2 but it's not alot from the angle we see. Soon all the leaves will be down out of their tree and it'll all be very visible - at that point I'll take a couple pic's to add to the gallery photos. I did post a couple new ones a couple days ago of the view through the monitor inside - they were both there all night long. :) It is going to take some very serious intensive building to get this up to where it was but we have no doubt they will.. the question is when and how long will it take... Unfortunately we don't have those answers.. it's up to Mother Nature... Thanks for asking! Smiles! Loraine :)
When I first noticed it, it was way back. There was an eagle earlier. When I came back, I rewound the player and saw it fly in with some garbage of some sort. White, cloth looking thing. I will load tape later.
Dinner...Green beans, potatoes and ham. GeeGee picked the beans and cleaned them for me. She is doing so well recently, today she was walking almost normally.
I missed the short but sweet visit Sounded like one of them wasn't being sweet. lol
Some rain drops are falling here in the valley. Not as cold yet as last evening.
Deb - You really saw sooooooo many birds and TURTLES on you river trip. Thanks for taking all those pics. Water must have been smooth - Don't you ever lose your paddle when you have both hands on your camera or binoculars!
Thelma I hope you saw the visit! You must be our good luck charm because it seems all you need to say it that you wished you could see some eagle action!
I love your pumpkins, Megan. I have my scarecrows up out front but I need to get my pumpkins and some mums.....
Hi, Thelma...I thought the same as Jo, every time you say something about seeing our eagles, they appear. Sorry you missed them, but thanks for calling them in for us!
Thelma...I am all ready for Halloween and already handing out treats to my little customers (some big ones too! LOL) Shop has been seeing a steady flow of customers, but has been very slow today. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are my busiest days.
I can see bamboo so I guess LunLun is sitting next to the bed.. Little Luney is alone. I remember around 4:00 every day they would feed Lun Lun and there would be soooooo much bamboo it would cover Buta Buta! We used to have a hard time finding her.
Submitted the article by email to the Chronicle. Steve Chase suggested I send it as a Letter to the Editor. NCTC/FWS will be sending out a news release and so I could keep everything I wrote that is how I did it. It won't be in this weeks Chronicle - but next weeks.. I don't know what day it publishes. Should I also send it to the Journal? How often is it published?

Thanks Megan for heads up on new thread. Thank you Steven have a good day!
Red how did your dessert go last night?
Ok Red that makes two people asking you...lol So did you hold back or eat what wife didn't? lol
Helen, was I suppose to let you know if I would be able to attend the Friday Festivities? If we aren't extremely busy, Gene will take care of the shop.
Ok Red that makes two people asking about dessert. Did you hold back or eat the whole thing other than what the wife ate. lol
May you ALL have a good day and hope the sun shines in you lives.
I had a small bowl of cobbler and guess what? I lost two pounds yesterday. Just stopped the sausage and biscuits for breakfast and cut down on the taters. I think I have it figured out now.
That would be wonderful, Wanda....:)
Typical man....gives up one thing....and loses weight.....women can starve for a week and lose an ounce......maybe
Your right, Helen. It took me 3 months to loose 3 pounds!
Good morning everybody!
At that rate, it would take me 2 years to reach my weight goal!
Good Morning, Sharon..

Just as Mei Lan did two years ago, the cub has started to make rather loud vocalizations at somewhat random times. Typically when Lun Lun is away from the cub, he will make a few small grunts and squeaks. And at other times when she is away, he is completely quiet. But now, on rare occasions, he produces a single, very loud squawk. So maybe we can send them some e-mails, I think the address is on their page somewhere.....it's the page where we watch the osprey, burrowing owls and Lake Washington, and KENT cams
yes, they have, Deb.
looks more to the left...will probably give more of a view if they land on the branches....but really far from the nest if they have eaglets
They keep adjusting it, maybe this will be the winter view??
could be, then you will see them doing their nestorations...good view
When I first noticed it, it was way back. There was an eagle earlier. When I came back, I rewound the player and saw it fly in with some garbage of some sort. White, cloth looking thing. I will load tape later.

If the video would process, Jo, you could see Lib fly in. I am not sure what is taking so long.
The update says that he can vocalize pretty loudly at times.
I'd like to see that landing too Deb. Sounds like it was a hoot. I hope it processes.
Jo-when will we get sound back?
Don't worry Deb, I can be very patient just like an Eaglet!
hope to hear Luney soon
Hey jo- did you get your article written??
Wanda, have you put your sign out along the road yet?
I can see bamboo so I guess LunLun
is sitting next to the bed.. Little Luney is alone. I remember around 4:00 every day they would feed Lun Lun and there would be soooooo much bamboo it would cover Buta Buta!
We used to have a hard time finding her.
hello megan
Hi Thelma... and Buddy:) Sorry you missed the visit- I thought you were still watching, I missed the fly in myself, walked away to the stove.
Journal is daily, and the Chronicle comes out every Friday. They are connected, I guess maybe run by the same people.
Megan - I mean The Observer
It finally posted, the clip is on my page now. I have another one to post, but as slow as that was I will wait until later tonight to do it.
thanks Deb
that landing was great-it's like Liberty or Belle, I still can't tell'em apart, was upset that the nest was messed up with the landing
Deb - I watched the Maine eagle

Fish....?
