If I don't get on the ball and pay attention, I'm never going to see our eagles. Each time I get on here to wait for them, I get distracted and miss them!
I see where DEB got home safely and was downloading her photos. I am so anxious to see them. I can remember when she was asking about cameras when she got this one...she chose well! Her photo of the Royal Pair in the tree knocked my socks off!
Our nest looks so pretty with the greens, white of tree limbs, dark brown of sticks and then the light brown of the leaves in the nest. Perfect place to grow a family of Eagles ( :
Has PAULA given us any photos yet? I am not with the program these days. I don't have time to search for goodies or check out the Bluey Linkeys. What is the problem with Mason?
Wanda - basically it sounds like an insurance paperwork thing, the operation went well, and the family is trying to get him transfered back to Bryn Mawr...I think just a paper battle in the midst of all the stress...but Mr. E. sounds pretty determined to get it taken care of...
Paula was taking time with the pups, and posted a note on Yahoo regarding sales, and a thank you..last last night...busy work day for her today, and a visit with her Mom later this afternoon...
Gene says GOOD MORNING LADIES. He really enjoyed the Open House activities. And the company of so many wonderful ladies. He thinks you all are special and understands why I enjoy this group so much.
Nature Nut added some photos to the Open House Album...I'm sure it will grow here within the next few days, once people get caught up with the Other parts of their life... Yes, Good to hear that DEB is back at her nest, look forward to hear from Lolly and Anne-Marie too...
Oh, and he also enjoyed chatting with the men. Aaron was at our table (he has never met him before) and said he was very interesting to talk to. Jennifer is his special friend...they share a love for candies cherries! LOL

It was good to have Margy at our table. She is a hard one to capture...she is like a little bird, flying all around. She did settle down long enough to have a good conversation with. She is a sweetie.
Wanda, you both are just the greatest!! All of you are. It was such a special weekend. Hard to even describe to my friends. Definitely a weekend that had to be experienced, not explained!!
hey Sassy, how are you?....I'm just great:):):).....you should turn on QVC, their special of the day is some little interactive animals one of which is a panda...or go online to see it
I best get off of here. Another busy day awaits me. Costumes this morning and a doctor visit for GeeGee this afternoon. I am so lucky to have Gene...he takes care of the shop when I can't. Gotta love him! Be back this evening. Have a good day.

Tai is having breakfast this morning, looks like Tian is draped over a log. Don't see Mei. Wonder if she is out in the yard with Tian? They usually are in the mornings, think they were earlier. PANDA LOVE!!

Hi Sissy!! Don't know if she got called in or not, Norma....but it's a possibility. One dispatcher sounds really sick, and it's a hard job to do w/out a voice! Getting ready to head out for the day....bone scan...4+ hr. routine--all because I opened my stupid mouth and complained about bursitis in my hip acting up(which I've had off and on for over 10 yrs.), so Dr. says he'll sleep better if we verify that it's not a metastesis....felt like asking if he was going to pay the co-pay! Oh, well, it is what it is. Talk to all this evening! Have a good day.
PLEASE TELL ME WHO SENT ME THE 'GIFT PACKAGE'??----I really want to thank them!!---Had the beautiful EAGLE MAGNET & OTHER GOODIES!!---THANKS!!---THANKS!!
Try to have a good day Lynn. I know those tests are so expensive but the peace of mind will be worth it. We need you to stay healthy! It is what it is. That is the greatest saying ever.
Good morning, everyone. I did sleep in, Norma. All my pictures are loaded, but it will take some time to sort them all out, get rid of the bad, etc. I took over 500 pictures. I have my work cut out for me today!!
I see where Bob said he didn't have people pictures. I am bad at that, too. No people pictures from Sunday. :( I will have to get some from Paula, Lolly and Anne.
Sissy talked me into getting my camera Saturday night and now I am glad she did! I don't think I take good people pictures inside, so I don't do it often.
A setback for Mason: This is from the Caringbridge site this morning: "We can't break Mason out today. Unfortunately there is a spot on the back of his head where the shunt sticks out that has become a problem. Remember the Malmut? His helmet was customized to accommodate that area. I guess it wasn't protected enough post operation for the cranioplasty. Dr.Aaribee will have to move the shunt to the front of his head. Surgery is supposed to be tomorrow afternoon, earliest release is Friday. If he didn't need the shunt at all would be preferable, but our hands are tied. The issue of re admission to Bryn Mawr is off the table until after this next procedure.
Were hanging in there. Love to All Brian, Mason and Sylvia."
Took a while to read all your comments and get thru emails. I have been watching the NZ otters! One was playing in a pile of leaves! And now they are having water battles.
Beautiful day out there - Leaves are coming down! One of my maples is already barren.
I love to hear about all your memories from this past weekend..I don't think any of us there will ever forget it.
That must be so disappointing for Mason's family. Bless their hearts. They are definitely gonna have to learn a new normal!! Their lives are changed for sure. Prayers, prayers, and more prayers.
Take time to read some of the Guest Book entries when you are on the site. I mentioned yesterday late that the band were at the local high school and the Ram Band played the special "Mason" song. My son was there and said it was so moving since he was well aware of Mason..
Good mornign everyone. I did actually make it here while it was still morning even out east. Getting off to a late start. Have been busy looking at Elia pictures LOL. Everything else gets to wait when new pictures come in of this one. She remains a charmer for sure. This time it was the pilot of the airplane. Elia has earned her wings. Too cute. Long fun story and I shall continue to fly Airtran...they are special folks especially to my grand daughter :). ALERT there will be a few new photos on Elias Blog in a little while :).
Hope all of you are off to a great day. Gorgoeus here. Chilly fall with brilliant blue sky and those falling leaves.
there are 40 plus cams for different views, that is why I like doing the cams on the 4 to 7 shift when they are inside, only about a dozen cams to man then.
if you are on the sloth bear page, Margy, they have 4 different cams, plus clouded leopards, one is there now, and fishing cats and small-clawed otters, Jo loves watching them.
Good afternoon everyone!! Been working this morning and hadn't even looked at the blog. Will try to catch up in a minute. Hope all are having a wonderful day!
that was Tian, mugging for the visitors....right next to his den is the cam room....they have a blind between him and the cam room, otherwise he would be begging us for treats....
Hi Sharon..You are good, well-behaved, attentive to detail, and task-oriented....wish I was more like you! I have that "Disease" that Wanda talked about a week or so ago...
But I am making some progress..boy have I saved a bunch of useless stuff, sure it was "valuable" when I saved it...but now?? half and half.
Well - that is one way to make sure Mema Jo does not miss any Nest Action....!
Out to run some "errands." Hey, I have found some good recipes, including the famous Neimann Marcus chocolate chip cookie recipe, the one that cost that gal $250, so she shared it with all her friends via email ! They told her "two-fifty" and put it on her charge card...she thought, $2.50 - that was several years ago..
Tuesday, October 21 With the exceptions of the crunching of Lun Lun enjoying bamboo, the smacking of the cub nursing greedily, and an occasional grunt from either mom or cub, the panda building was quiet and uneventful last night.
Lun Lun spent much of her time away from the cub either eating or sleeping. When sleeping, she often chose to lie in the den with him, but not in the nest box. The cub seems to accept these new sleeping arrangements. And Lun Lun does not seem as bothered during separations from the cub for weighing or to clean the den.
All of this is in stark contrast to the early days after the birth, when the cub vocalized a great deal; when both cub and mom seemed to have trouble finding a comfortable position in which to rest; and, when separations were times of stress for Lun Lun and cub alike.
These changes are testament to the progress the cub has made since birth in both development and growth. Since his birth, the cub has doubled his weight just over four times! Yesterday, he weighed 2,198 grams (4.84 pounds). Debbie Forde
Hi Everyone. Hope you're having a great day. Sunny and lovely here at the Park, but wind is picking up.Gonna be a Really Low Tide at 5:15 PM! I also noticed a new name for blog. Hope the still cam gets fixed before 6:30---gotta have our daily eagle fix!!
BTW, tried to show a colleague the Open House album on yahoo site & couldn't see it on any page. Noticed that there were NO left/right arrows at bottom of page, so couldn't scroll over to see if it was there?! Must be this retarded 'puter.
Back again the same day...argh! Either hospital told secretary wrong date or she wrote it wrong...I'm not scheduled til tomorrow, so now have to get up early again and mess up another whole day. Did see an old friend and had lunch while there, so that was good. And she's free for lunch again tomorrow, so that's good to look forward to! I noticed the name change, but thought I had just not been paying attention before!! LOL!
Here's some scoop on Microgreens: filament-thin, delicate plants, the smallest possible incarnation of salad greens, herbs, edible flowers, and leafy vegetables. As a careful reading of trendy menus reveals, micro is huge: Microfennel, microarugula, micro-spinach, microchrysanthemums, and others appear as garnishes, as toppings, or as explosive bursts of flavor. No idea which the Clarion was OVER-using!!
Hello Again. I made it to all 3 appointments and back home. However, one eye dilated and might be awhile until I am in full swing. All is well but going for a cup of hubby's coffee and a peanut butter cookie or two!
Funny about noticing the name change.. this morning I backtracked some of the old blogs but they all said S'town Eagle Cam Daily...so I thought I was probably noticing something for the first time that had been there forever........ lol
Okay, everyone, is getting back to their nests, or getting ready to, and Paula's is going to visit Mom's Nest!
Nature Nut: Did you sign in to Yahoo before you starting looking at the Album Pages? I had shut down computer, and couldn't figure out why I couldn't see any, then realized I was not being recognized as a member...just a suggestion.
I saw Dana and Ed at the Grocery store! How about that !!
Back from doctor appointment. He was very pleased with GeeGee's progress. She has gained 3 pounds and vitals were all good. She told him she hasn't felt this good in a long time and that made him and me feel good! Not very busy today...where is everyone (at Wal-Mart?). THAT IS NOT GOOD! Time to fix some supper. BBL
Just got this report on Michael Vick: SURRY COUNTY: Commonwealth's Attorney Gerald Poindexter tells 13News that Newport News native Michael Vick won't serve additional prison time on state dogfighting charges, according to tenative plea agreement.
Oh Man, MITS, I was emailing grandson's teacher, and missed the Maine Eagles...maybe this is a trend, though, one this morning, two this evening, once that construction banging stops, and before it starts, seems would be the best time!
Off to the Storage Bins, to deal with more clutter and look for some treasures!
Right on, Helen, about Vick....all I can hope and pray for now, besides a dog attack, is that NO team lets him ever play again. Live cam not working here, and still is still stuck...boo!
first it was a bunch of does, now nice buck....now why would they leave then romance is near ? OH, I see they are back...but the refresh takes you to the Racoon field...
Hey all!! See I missed the Maine eagles. Poop!! Sitting here watching shows on DVR, catching up!! Still looking at everyone's pictures, what a blast we had, didn't we?

Good afternoon everyone!! Been working this morning and hadn't even looked at the blog. Will try to catch up in a minute. Hope all are having a wonderful day!
Mits look at that cam at NZ. That is a different view, isn't it?
Never mind. Changed back now.
that was Tian, mugging for the visitors....right next to his den is the cam room....they have a blind between him and the cam room, otherwise he would be begging us for treats....
Tian is looking into the cam room
Nice Landing Sissy ~
Hi Sharon..You are good, well-behaved, attentive to detail, and task-oriented....wish I was more like you! I have that "Disease" that Wanda talked about a week or so ago...
But I am making some progress..boy have I saved a bunch of useless stuff, sure it was "valuable" when I saved it...but now?? half and half.
TTFN again..
xo
I have Value Village coming tomorrow, and am cleaning out some drawers too, Margy
did you all know our cam is stuck on 9:37a.m.?
sent e-mail to Steve
Well - that is one way to make sure Mema Jo does not miss any Nest Action....!
Out to run some "errands."
Hey, I have found some good recipes, including the famous Neimann Marcus chocolate chip cookie recipe, the one that cost that gal $250, so she shared it with all her friends via email ! They told her "two-fifty" and put it on her charge card...she thought, $2.50 - that was several years ago..
Have a nice afternoon everyone.

COOKIE STORY
There are pictures on the hummer page of the nest in progress:
Hummer nest
Did anyone notice our new title?
Shepherdstown Eagle Cam Daily
yes, I did.
Yes, I noticed it too. Wonder why? It is still associated with NCTC right?
The write up on the home page is different too.
I did notice that earlier about the name change but the blog is more in Steve's domain than NCTC, right?
maybe because of the school stuff Sandy Burke is going to do....
I don't care what they call it, just so they don't take it away from us!
Maybe they thought people could find it easier under the Shepherdstown name?
Or more likely, because it's not a government blog...or on a government site.
Tuesday, October 21
With the exceptions of the crunching of Lun Lun enjoying bamboo, the smacking of the cub nursing greedily, and an occasional grunt from either mom or cub, the panda building was quiet and uneventful last night.
Yesterday, he weighed 2,198 grams (4.84 pounds).

little luney on his tummy:)
Our Little Luney has become quite a little Hoss!

Heron at BWO
Glad you got home safe and sound Deb.
GBH gone; Bald Eagle arrived at BWO.
Nethy's migration report is up for today...

Hello Again. I made it to all 3 appointments and back home. However, one eye dilated and might be awhile until I am in full swing. All is well but going for a cup of hubby's coffee and a peanut butter cookie or two!
Funny about noticing the name change.. this morning I backtracked some of the old blogs but they all said S'town Eagle Cam Daily...so I thought I was probably noticing something for the first time that had been there forever........ lol
I'll be back in a few hours...
Just need to take a short rest..
BBL

Nature Nut: Did you sign in to Yahoo before you starting looking at the Album Pages? I had shut down computer, and couldn't figure out why I couldn't see any, then realized I was not being recognized as a member...just a suggestion.

Oh Man, MITS, I was emailing grandson's teacher, and missed the Maine Eagles...maybe this is a trend, though, one this morning, two this evening, once that construction banging stops, and before it starts, seems would be the best time!

Right on, Helen, about Vick....all I can hope and pray for now, besides a dog attack, is that NO team lets him ever play again.
