Morning Mits, Glo and Megan. Mits have a good day with the Ravens. Hope they win. Wow what happened to Maryland. Thanks for the new thread Steve and hope you have a good day.
I think Maryland fell asleep on the road...going to be nice weather for the game, but we are playing a 4 and 0 team, so not looking for a win, but really do like watching our 22 yr old QB
Heck no. Went to Church at 5:30 and when I came out everyone was walking to the Fort and I was going the other way. Jimmy had a hard time finding a parking spot but in the city that is not unusual. They had express buses running from the stadium to the Fort. So it was very well organized. They expected 20 to 30 thousand people but are saying it was only 10 thousand. I think the scared the others away.

Helen - I sure hope you get a glimpse of Michael at the game - Hope they bring him to the 50 yard line. Norma how about those eeeerrrrrrrs! Happy Sunny Sunday Everyone! Been checking cams, emails, etc.Love that Little Luney!!! Out on deck w/coffee a couple times and one of our regular Red-bellied Woodpecker boys was taking seed (not suet) and hiding it away under the garage roof shingles! I only saw 1 hummingbird on Monday, but not on feeder. She was attracted to the red seed clusters on a strawberry bush. Lotsa stuff to do--BBL
Jo, I wish I had thought of that and taken their picture with us. Not many animals there. We usually do it in the evening. With Raven game and other activities going on people did not come.
Nethy, the surviving Loch Garten eyass, has crossed the Mediterranean into Morocco and was roosting in the mountains last night a couple of hundred kilometers south of Fez.
Oh how sweet ... someone is trying to push himself forward with his cute back legs. Getting a little movement there. Oh how sweet ..such a cutie..push hard there you go Little Luney. Your moving!!
Yes, slept pretty good, Ceil, thanks. I only go in for six hours tonight, 6 pm to midnight, then have a couple of days off.
I had a nightmare! Dreamt that there was a fire at the Atlanta zoo... punched that cam open as soon as I got up ! Now Luney is there in all his blissful pudginess...
I almost thought he was going to roll over the other day the way he was laying in the straw all alone. It is going to be fun watching this little guy learn all the tricks!
Norma - you be sure to take your cane with you (And use it) as you're waiting for the train to load. Stand at the caboose with Deb, Paula, Lolly and Jack, Anne and Bill & Sandy
They will allow you to enter first with your friends. Iris and I did this last year.
Have you thought of a place to have lunch with everyone before they take off from Romney?
JO ---I don't think there are any restaurants open in Romney on Sunday!!---Will double check!!--We can eat on the train!!----Did you all find a place to eat last year??-----I have ridden the train about 3 or 4 times---but haven't ridden it in the am before!!---It used to be packed---but now they have a train in Petersburg (Linn's home town)!! ---Just want to see EAGLES---Saw the train guy the other day & he said they have been seeing them everyday!!
Michael came out for the coin toss wearing a Raven #8 ( GOLD MEDALS) shirt...he got a standing ovation....don't think they could do anything more then that and get permission from the NFL
Hi, everyone. I am home from a successful trip to Omaha, shoes and a kayak!! I even got both of them for a really good price! It is hard for me to find shoes that fit and don't cost an arm and a leg, so was very happy to find a pair that fit at a reasonable price.
Well - I think I would be running (or riding a bike or in a golf cart) down the tow path keeping an eye on you! lol Do I ever wish I could kayak Sunny goes on the Potomac a lot and Anne Marie wants to Kayak - so does Paula I think........
Way to go Deb....I've never been in a kayak but had a canoe for a long time. I loved going everywhere with it. The potomac is a very great place to canoe. Although I don't canoe anymore. So probably yes kayaking there would be great.
Forgot to tell you all that 2 weeks ago my son was on the tow path & did sight one of OUR eagles (I know it was) at the river...... He made a low dive but then circled and flew onward. He said it sure was a beautiful sight!

Jo that is definately an egg in Australia. Does look like a half of an egg like you said. Unless somehow the shade is making it look that way. Then I would wonder being a whole egg why is she not on it. So I'll go with your idea that it is half an egg.

Good Night Everyone Looking forward to another day I like Margy's saying that tomorrow is the beginning of the rest of your life.... (May not have gotten all the wording right-but the meaning is there)
Peace to you and yours. Prayers for all needs being said.
Sunday, October 5 First, I need to post a correction. On Friday afternoon, the cub weighed 1244 grams, not 1299 grams. The 55 grams discrepancy comes from the blanket the cub was wrapped in while he was weighed. We apologize for the misinformation.
Now on to today's update! Yesterday morning I noticed that the cub's left eye was just starting to open! I could see a tiny slit of a shiny black eye! The right eye was still closed, but I knew that very soon both eyes would be open. It's so exciting to see each and every milestone first-hand, but it is especially thrilling discover it! This morning, both eyes are open a little bit more. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, giant panda cubs begin to open their eyes between 35 and 50 days after birth. So, we were expecting to see the cub's eyes open any day (today the cub is 36 days old). This significant progression in the cub's development is just another sign that he is thriving under Lun Lun's care. Yesterday afternoon the cub weighed 1298 grams; this is the 4th day in a row that he has gained around 50 grams in 24 hours. Heather Baker Roberts Keeper I
It is incredible how far they fly at times, but I think it's a lot like Hawk Mountain (think that's the name) where you can see they are riding definite wind currents along the flyways. They certainly have flyways in Europe, Asia, and Africa as well.

HI JO!---He is so ADORABLE!!---Remember when TAI was that age!!--He was so CUTE playing in the snow!!---

Iris and I did

Have you thought of a place to have lunch with everyone before they take off from Romney?
That is funny, Norma. Whoa! I even take my socks off when I weigh myself

Those COWBOYS need to get on the BALL!---It's now 17-13!

Hi, everyone. I am home from a successful trip to Omaha, shoes and a kayak!! I even got both of them for a really good price! It is hard for me to find shoes that fit and don't cost an arm and a leg, so was very happy to find a pair that fit at a reasonable price.
Deb, you really bought the kayak??? Good for you!! How did you get it home?
DID A PADDLE COME WITH IT ?
And a life jacket?
Whoo Hoo You go Deb
DEB you ARE the woman!!!!!!
too bad you can't bring it with you and paddle on the Potomac
I brought it home in the back of my pick up, paddle and life jacket. I am all set! Now I just need the weather to clear up so I can take it out.
It would be fun to try the Potomac, we could all go!
that would be fun, and a good way to spot eagles....they were all over by the river the other day
Well - I think I would be running
(or riding a bike or in a golf cart)
down the tow path keeping an eye on you! lol Do I ever wish I could
kayak
Sunny goes on the Potomac a lot and Anne Marie wants to Kayak - so does Paula I think........
Way to go Deb....I've never been in a kayak but had a canoe for a long time. I loved going everywhere with it. The potomac is a very great place to canoe. Although I don't canoe anymore. So probably yes kayaking there would be great.

cool, Jo:)
I sure hope they put on a show when we are there. Dana, kayaking is easier than canoeing. Easier to paddle and to steer, and you can do it alone!
Deb it was always just me and my dog in the canoe. I have heard yes that kayaking is easier. Last year at Open House they had kayaks their for people to see and ask
questions about. We talked to the
man there. That is where I learn't using a kayak is easier.
They will probably be there this year too.
DEB, you have mail:)
Too bad they don't let you take them out! I didn't get anything fancy at all, just a basic, easy to handle one that will be good for the river.
Mits, you have mail.
I am off bowling
My scores would be good golf scores
But I did just get 3 strikes in a row
BBL
Menu for 18th has been sent to those attending.........
I'm sure that I would enjoy kayaking or canoeing, but since I can't swim there is that inate fear. I'm fine w/ BIG vessels, but would feel very insecure in something that could topple over easily.
Hey, Jo, I'm addicted to the bolwing! But about every third game it freezes up halfway through...boo.
oops....bowling!
Hedgie I just thought I broke it
Restarted it and I still couldn't
get a decent score. It's entertaining
Used to be a hangman for Halloween
I'll try to find it unless someone else does before me........
It has really chilled down tonight!
same here, Lynn, but it is fun:)
yeah, hangman is still around, Cindi always sends it out
Not too many on here right now
BUT
Any volunteers for Paula's

Jo, I must have missed Paula's request. What would that be?
And, what's with the huge change in prices on our dinners?

Looks like 1/2 egg shell when you

I just emailed them - maybe I'll get an answer. The diary is only updated
through September......It's too dark
in the nest box to see.
#1) I'll email you Paula's request for help.
#2) I'll answer you in an email since not everyone on our blog would be attending or interested.
Did you spend the day with Gee Gee or was your shop open?
I do know that prices have gone up on everything,Lynn, but Crab Cakes were $24.95 and are now 29.95. That is a $5.00 increase...JMHO, but I think that is too much. Now if that is the price being charged to those eating in the Tavern, and not just us, then that is a little different. I thought maybe we were being GOUGED because we are in the Private Dining Room.
DEB, are you bringing your camera?
JO, I was sick this Morning (throwing up) so, I stayed home, for fear I had a bug that I might pass on to GeeGee. About mid-afternoon, I felt better and thought I'd take my chances with her. So glad I did. She was near tears when she saw me. (She thought I wasn't coming) We had a wonderful visit. Denise took her to get Crab Legs Friday evening.

Jo that is definately an egg in Australia. Does look like a half of an egg like you said. Unless somehow the shade is making it look that way. Then I would wonder being a whole egg why is she not on it. So I'll go with your idea that it is half an egg.
No, Wanda, think that is a cross the board increase....not just because we are in the private room....speaking of which, Jo, are we just going to pay you the night of the dinner.....meant to pay you the other day.
Wanda - seeing your Mom like that breaks your heart.I know the feeling.
Just like we were dependent on our mothers when we were young - they become dependent on us when we're older. It is such a logical loving circle - our life!
WANDA so sorry you are not feeling well:(
I'll be back.
I need to shut these windows.
I am getting cold!
COLD CASE IS GOOD TONIGHT:)
OK, knowing that the price increase is across the board...I feel better. Sorry that I got bent out of shape.
NO PROBLEMS, WANDA:)
I told Paula, that Gene and I could work the tables in the afternoon. We work well together.
DEB...don't forget your binoculars. (I probably didn't have to tell you that, but just in case!) And your sunglasses. And your PJ's and.........
I volunteered, too!
Yes, Jo, I am brining my camera.
Don't forget your toothbrush:)
Well if everything went off fine which I hope it did. Candy's son has been married for 1 day.
So Candy might be getting back on the blog.
Great! Paula will be pleased!
I forgot Cold Case!!! :(
Deb, don't forget your plane tickets either:) Make a list check it twice
DEB: Do you think you're going to have enough "Mothers" when you get

I wonder how long until Candy does touch base with us. Soon, I hope!
I sure hope she doesn't try to catch up with 300 emails that she missed.
Oh Nooooooooooo...she wouldn't do that!

Cold Case was good, Jo, but as usual came on late because of the CBS football game.

I replenish it when I get back from a trip, so it is ready to go the next time. I have done it for years, makes packing so much easier.
Margy said one was a raccoon their door aat the office last night.

I like Margy's saying that tomorrow is the beginning of the rest of your life.... (May not have gotten all the wording right-but the meaning is there)
Peace to you and yours.
Prayers for all needs being said.

Normal high for now would be upper 60's, low should be lower 40's. Today was just a hot day, still 71 right now and muggy.
good night, Jo:)
Sunday, October 5
First, I need to post a correction.

Yeah, Mema Jo,
It is incredible how far they fly at times, but I think it's a lot like Hawk Mountain (think that's the name) where you can see they are riding definite wind currents along the flyways. They certainly have flyways in Europe, Asia, and Africa as well.
