Lisa at Blackwater emailed me that family is coming up from FL and she won't be able to come to Open House. She promises that one of these years she will make it! I told her we would hold her to it.
What a nice day outside but rains on the way.. Deb whens your flight arrivng at BWI? I have aflight leaving at 4:15pm for Orlando, Florida.. Maybe we could say Hello as we pass in the terminal..lol I know i need to pack tonight also, but today is my grandson's 19th birthday, so im fixing a special dinner tonight for him..Baby Panda sure is trying to walk moving those legs...
I used to love to go thorugh the woods and find where turkeys had torn apart the leaves looking for nuts and seeds and plant bulbs. Supposedly they love Spring Beauty Bulbs...can't blame them..
I had a beautiful little Carolina Wren perched on the window sill of the bedroom window...if he had started to chirp I would have fallen out of bed....
For being in the city there are some pretty nice birds here! I can't feed any of them because that would invite the Squirrel back, and he would find a way into the ceiling again.. Then I would lose my mind.
DEB - I'll be picking "your all's" brains this week-end for recommendations...then I will need more hardware for the computer to download...guess it's time to enter the 21st Century!
Been having computer ... or software ... probs this morning.
AOL was slow and sticky as h..., and then I lost sound on FireFox and it started locking and carrying on.
Whatever it was it seems cured by just shutting down the browsers and deleting all the Internet files.
Check ZZ. She's up in her hammock acting like a grown-up eating her grown-up bamboo. Very cute.
Our heavy Santa Ana winds have died down and we are actually getting some on-shore winds now, which is sure to help the firefighters get a handle on the infernos of the last couple of days. It's still hot and dry though, which is unusual with the wind off the Pacific.
Things are looking up though. Hope you are having a good day.
Good Day to you too, JIM now that I got through Blogger Cop...Thanks for keeping us posted on Nethy...seems like she was going backwards and forwards there for a few days, there was some concern she was not near water or fish! But I guess she is hanging in there...
--- I'm heading out for some KID FUN Catch you all later. Enjoy your evenings...
I'm back from my afternoon shopping excursion with my daughters - Got the 50th anniversary outfit with their help! I have read the comments and will now go put my feet up for an hour before dinner.....
Can't seem to get back on the Atlanta panda cam. Anyone take note that Steve posted new threads at 9:22 pm and 9:22 am?? Maybe good numbers to play if you buy lottery tickets!! LOL.
Jim from Tai's growth on DC Zoo information: Five months to one year old At five months, the cub trots behind its mother, mimics her while she eats bamboo, and climbs trees. It will have deciduous teeth at one year of age, and its permanent teeth will start to erupt at this age. It suckles only once or twice a day. It may continue to suckle at eight or nine months old. Two more days and we will start the journey toward Shepherdstown with a night in Bedford and Saturday morning, Shepherdstown bound! I am so anxious to see everybody!
I don't know what kind of MIRACLE the Bluefield Sisters were waiting for, but, it looks like they got it!!! WHOOOPPPIII! NOW our group will be nearly complete...come on NORMA, we need you.
Dana...went to see GeeGee this morning and she was watering her roses and snipping off old flower heads. She has gotten a MIRACLE too. She has been doing really well for 2 weeks now.
Good evening all. I see you are anxiously waiting for your get together. I envy all of you and wish I could be there too this time. Maybe next year. Looking forward to the one in the spring.
I have been anxiously watching Hurricane Ormar off and on today, as Josh and his wife are in St. Lucia. Wondering how close it will come to them. I don't think they will be coming back until Saturday or Sunday. They were going to be there for 12 days.
Candy - Our 50th is Nov 8 - I often wondered over the past couple years if I would make it but there is less then a month to go! You & hubby will make it also! But be sure to say your prayers every night!
Jo it was 2006 Season that we started watching the nest. When did they first build the nest in the tree? What was the 1st season they had eaglets? I can't remember nor can I find my sheets I had it recorded on.
So good to see you on here,Candy. It is wonderful to see my Mom able to move around and tend to her flowers. She is soooo happy and knows that thanks belongs to the Lord.
JO...50yrs for us Jan. 2, 2009. It really doesn't seem possible. They have been wonderful years and hope we have many more. Life has been good to us. And we know who to thank for that.
WANDA Jan. 2nd was my parents and my husband's parents wedding anniversary. His mother always said that it was ok if we forgot theirs, as long as we forgot my parents. :) The other weirdness is that Josh was born on James' mother's birthday and James and I were in the same hospital at the same time being born 4 days apart. Of course he is the older. :)
Wednesday, October 15 As the cub gets older and Lun Lun spends more time away from him, we have been working Lun Lun back into some of her “pre-cub” activities. We have had her do some of her basic training behaviors to give her a bit of variety in her day. She also started to allow us to weigh her every day. Luckily for us, the scale is only in the next den over from her, and the process involves her eating leafeater biscuits. We are glad to see her current weight at 101 to 104.5 kg (222.7 to 229.9 lbs), which is a normal range for her. As the cub grows, we will watch Lun Lun’s weight to make sure she is receiving the correct amount of bamboo and biscuits to meet the demand for more milk for the growing cub.
The cub’s weight yesterday was 1820.4 grams. Kate Roca Carnivore Keeper II
WANDA Glad to hear you still have the Eagle Express signs. So I might be there with you all after all; the banner. :) When you have the gathering next year, I'll have to make some new ones. I could even have them laminated at our school so they would last longer.
MITS Thanks for the information on Lun Lun and the new cub. I have the kids at school looking in on them now. They have settled down enough to just look from time to time.
Well, It is getting close to 9pm and I have to be at school at 6:45am, so guess I'll be on my way for today. I hope you all have a wonderful night visiting and get a good night's sleep. Tomorrow brings a new day with new beginnings. Hugs to all
Gene had a brother named Joe (he is 10yrs. deceased) and at one time was married to Dana's sister. So, that would make Dana his sister-in-law. Small world, isn't it?
Mason update-I'm back! Great to be here at the Ronald McDonald House, everybody is loverly. This is such a great place for a family to be that is dealing with such stressful situations. Please remember to support this organization, it is truly a godsend.
Mason will be here with Sylvia early tomorrow a.m. I have set my alarm so I can call her to wake up at 2:30, if I fail to do so.....uh oh!.
We need to get this done and on to the next level, back to Bryn Mawr ASAP< send all of your good stuff.
I have been watching Discovery Health....The Duggars...17 and counting....and now a couple that has 27 children, 23 with special needs....mostly Down Syndrome, many with serious physical and mental problems
they are on welfare, and food stamps....there are children from rapes, people who did not get abortions, but didn't want them because they were not perfect, or just didn't want them at all....
Sounds like good people, Mits, sad situations those kids have gone thru-glad someone has stepped up to care for them. Gotta lay down- long day tomorrow..nite all...

Guess I'm just getting on in time to say Goodnight! Got home from work at 7:30 & watched some TV & of course monitoring 2 kitties!Baby has been let out of confinement and so far no physical violence!!Big one is so busy watching, think she's missed her naps! YAY, I knew Sharon & Sissy would make it!! I hope live cam works TH---it's my day off except for Dr. appt.BOO News on---BBL (unless I fall asleep in lounge chair)
Paula, Dana's sister was my Sister-in-Law..not Dana. I know, it's confusing. I did not know about the family ties until a few days ago...what a surprise.
Loretta, it really didn't take long to get your kittens to this point. Your "Cat Whisperer" really knows his stuff! Not forgetting your hard work and patience, too.
Goodnight to all hitting the hay!! Wanda, that is quite a coincidence about Dana's sister Kitty!! Paula, I think I remember Red posting the recipe awhile back & it was a killer!!We may have to pass--need low fat & low cholesterol & hubby can't have sugar.(But a taste shouldn't count!!) Gonna see if sun is up in Finland..

Nilla, I get in at 1:51 to BWI with Northwest Airlines, flight 1070, coming in form Minneapolis.
At work--had to check Atlanta-Baby all by himself!!ADORABLE!!
Hi all. Watching Baby Luney is like watching a baby trying to crawl!! LOL. That slippery surface sure makes it hard for him to motor!!
He's a little bobble-head!
We are all probably sitting here taking steps for him. He sure is trying.
He just got the poopy skeered out of him with a piece of bamboo! (ME TOO!)
I saw that too, Sharon...thought it was something trying to attack him!
I have lost live feed, anyone else??
Yes, Deb, I have lost it too. :(

What there is left of it.
The leaves are beginning to fall at Pix PA - that will make the turkeys happy...
First freeze of the year could happen here tonight! I hope it does so the grass stops growing.
DEB - Loved your new pictures and the clip of OUR Eagle from last night...
Guess I am going to have to get a digital camera, it is getting harder and harder to find the Advantix APS film...sign of the times.
Live feed is back up again :)
Digitals are so easy to use and no wasted film. If the picture doesn't look right, you can just delete it.
Next load of laundry is ready for folding. BBL

Great Wanda so so glad to hear that!!!! I bet that was such a relief for you.
Good evening all. I see you are anxiously waiting for your get together. I envy all of you and wish I could be there too this time. Maybe next year. Looking forward to the one in the spring.
WANDA Glad to hear that your Gee Gee is doing better the last couple of weeks.
I have been anxiously watching Hurricane Ormar off and on today, as Josh and his wife are in St. Lucia. Wondering how close it will come to them. I don't think they will be coming back until Saturday or Sunday. They were going to be there for 12 days.
Great Candy! Bring us some of the Brownies!
JO When are you celebrating your 50 years of marriage? That is wonderful. My hubby and I have only been together for 44. Hope we make it to fifty.
I sure could eat some of that cheesecake you all have been talking about. I have never made that; only brownies.
Did someone say that you were expecting rain up there? It has been hot down here again. Would like to have some cool air so it would feel like fall.
Hi Candy they were calling for rain Saturday. It has changed just going to be cool 50°s. Better than rain..
I know I told Lynn NOT to pitch those name tags she had printed -
There just might be a miracle -
WHOO HOO!!
Candy - Our 50th is Nov 8 - I often wondered over the past couple years if I would make it but there is less then a month to go! You & hubby will make it also! But be sure to say your prayers every night!

Oh yes Candy the trees are beautiful here.
Dana - I would need to read on the FWS page or on the Momsters intro.
Check that out... Paula said they
have had 5 seasons & we have been
here for 3.
Panda baby is fast asleep all alone at Atlanta zoo. He is so adorable.
I remember 08 3 eaglets, 07 none, 06 3 eaglets, 05 can't remember, 04 2 or 3 eaglets? I think I read somewhere. Don't know before that yr.
WANDA The Lord works in mysterious ways; his wonders to perform. I am so glad that she is feeling so much better.
Jo, did you ask Steve if we can park the Eagle Express by the barn...and how long can we leave it there?
We still have your sign, Candy. I guess we will use it again.
WANDA Jan. 2nd was my parents and my husband's parents wedding anniversary. Got home from work at 7:30 & watched some TV & of course monitoring 2 kitties!Baby has been let out of confinement and so far no physical violence!!Big one is so busy watching, think she's missed her naps!
YAY, I knew Sharon & Sissy would make it!!
I hope live cam works TH---it's my day off except for Dr. appt.BOO
News on---BBL (unless I fall asleep in lounge chair)
Hope none of ya'lls on a diet....Red's cheesecake is a killer! Looks like it's gonna be delish!
Paula, Dana's sister was my Sister-in-Law..not Dana. I know, it's confusing. I did not know about the family ties until a few days ago...what a surprise.
The dog is licking crumbs off my pants...I'm a mess!
Loretta, it really didn't take long to get your kittens to this point. Your "Cat Whisperer" really knows his stuff! Not forgetting your hard work and patience, too.
Ok, gotcha Wanda - so you're sort of related! Funny ya'll didn't realize it till now.
Glad Kitty is doing well with other Kitty!
That is the name of Dana's sister...KITTY.
I think I'll go to bed before this situation gets any weirder.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SLEEP TIGHT
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Roflmao, Wanda....
Goodnight to all hitting the hay!!
Wanda, that is quite a coincidence about Dana's sister Kitty!!
Paula, I think I remember Red posting the recipe awhile back & it was a killer!!We may have to pass--need low fat & low cholesterol & hubby can't have sugar.(But a taste shouldn't count!!)
Gonna see if sun is up in Finland..
No sun yet in Finland--much shorter days now.
Batman was mentioned earlier---I think that was one of my daughter's first words, too!!!
* GOOD nIGHT, EVERYBODY *
mANANA will be even better..
