Whenever you see 2 pandas together at NZ, it is always Mei Xiang and Tian Tian, don't know why this cam operator has both cams on them...you can hear a voulnteer interpreting right now....some use the microphones

I agree about playing Good Morning Sunshine every morning, so I put it in my favorites. I had to listen to some of the others while over there - I guess age 64 was old way back then - Now it is still a young age!
I was getting the wavy treatment on our Live Feed also - Open House at BW so I am glad the eagles are going to make an appearance for everyone. Great he just left the platform.

The cub weighed 1299 grams yesterday afternoon; that is an increase of 97 grams in 24 hours! In addition to gaining lots of weight, his muscle control is improving more each day. On Wednesday, I saw the cub purposefully turn over, but it was more like he flung himself from his side to his stomach. Then on Thursday, I saw him turn over again, but this time, he just rolled onto his stomach -- in a mere 24 hours, he had mastered the act of turning over. This may seem simple, but to an animal that is born as altricial as a panda cub, it is a great feat -- and the first step to becoming mobile. Since learning to turn himself over, the cub is moving around much more when Lun Lun is away eating. He squirms around, working his limbs to increase their strength so he can eventually scoot around, but for now he just manages to maneuver himself out of the frame of the camera as I am sure those of you who watch Panda Cam have noticed.

Is Oct. 1st the date they used to recommend you take down your H.B. feeders, Megan??
That's probably why...your birds might have started their migration. But they now say it's not necessary to take the feeders down, since the little darlings start south on their own instinctively. ANd there could be other birds from farther north or stragglers, which might use your flowers or feeders.
Around Santa Ana here, some Hummers stay all winter anyway, but more will stay if you leave your feeder out. If we humans didn't have the flowers and feeders, all or nearly all the Black-chinned birds would migrate to the deserts in S.E. Cal. and N. Mexico.

Did anyone just see Lun put a HEAD lOCK on Luney? That was so funny. Luney was unhappy with something and you could see his mouth moving as if he were fussing...Lun took her arm and put a Head Lock on him and covered his mouth and head. Then his little hind legs started moving. Ohhhh, my time is up...have to get back to work. Darn! I could watch that cam all day.

We always leave our feeders up until about 3rd week in October to catch any stragglers.
Hi Everyone, I just sent this message to the email list, but thought maybe some of you were not on that.
I sure wish I could be with you all for this year's NCTC Open house...It sounds more and more wonderful. Two dinners! I had so much fun last year! The food and fellowship were wonderful! Sure hope that never changes! There will be a lot of you there I have not met yet, and I do regret that I won't get to meet you at this time. Maybe next year!
Last year we ate at the Rumsey Tavern on Saturday. The food is delicious, but don't order the RIBS unless you have a BIG BIG appetite! That's where you will be eating on Friday this year I see.
I just want to share a little tidbit with you all, in case those of you that were there last year do not remember it from last year!! And to show you that have not been there before that we really do have a fun time! They have a band than comes in around 8 or 9pm in the Rumsey Tavern.
When the band came into the Rumsey Tavern dining room and set up to play for the guests, we were getting ready to leave. I asked one of the waitresses if we could stay and dance. And she said, " sure, as long as you do NOT dance on the tables". (kinda joking like.) Well, the devil must have gotten into me, because I said to her, "if my knees were better, I'd be right up there on the tables dancing!!!" We all laughed so hard...goodness we had a good time!!! (I have a hard time walking, much less dancing, hahha)
Anyway... I wish you all a great time and do a little "dance" for me will you? (but not on the tables please)I will miss seeing you all, but I have to be at a family reunion in North Carolina that whole weekend.

Wanda - my USPS box arrived so I'm pretty well set for the open house.
Funny thing is that it was delivered to our side porch & didn't really know it was there until I looked out. I was looking for our outside stray cat... and there was Mr Red sound asleep by the box.. I did not awaken him - I waited for him to depart on his own. I was really anxious to open that box but I was patient.
Of course, I could be wrong, it might have been my first time with you all instead of the second...my memory is not what it used to be....

The reason I was laying down and not on the blog tonight was because I cleaned the windows inside and out in the car yesterday. It caught up with me today and set off pain in very badly in my neck down the arms. In my spine and down my legs. The twisting to clean the windows wasn't a good thing for me.
Miss you all....I have been feeling somewhat slighted in the blog and emails for days.

Hey, Deb....you know what they say about a firm foundation!!! Depending on the way it's made, I sometimes wear a 10!! But I mostly just buy at WalMart or Payless. If you have a Gabriels nearby, they often have fantastic buys on good shoes at great prices; so does TJMaxx!

I am good for tennis shoes, an 11 works well since I wear them with socks. I just want a nice casual slip on shoe that will be good for winter. I don't just want them for the trip, that is just a good excuse to get them now. Who knew it would be such a problem to find a pair that fits me! I may have to go to a clog type shoe, doesn't have to fit perfectly.
Lynn, not only big feet, but a very high arch adds to my shoe shopping woes. No Gabriels around here. I am hitting the DSW shoe store tomorrow, they are great, so many shoes!
Tomorrow I must write an article or at least submit information about our group to the S'town Chronicle.
I met the editor, Daniel Friend on Friday. Chronicle office is right beside Ellsworth Music store where I was getting the Mason Jar for our dinner night. Just in case anyone
wants to donate to the family's medical expense.

DANA - Large black bear sighting up off Paradise Valley Road up off Rt 11N last night...didn't hear anything about it after we notified DNR -

Kept hearing the eagles, crows, blue jays and nuthatches at Maine, but turning it down now while I sleep.
