5pm and our eagle has returned.....

Mema Jo said...

Hi Suzan - I'm worried about the tail feathers freezing! lol

NCSuzan said...

Would someone be able to e-mail photos of the twins to me? Thank you very much.

NCSuzan said...

LOL. Any part down there does not need to be cold at all!

paula eagleholic said...

Suzan, their feet are very tough! I have seen them out on the ice this winter in front of my home. Doesn't seem to bother them a bit!

paula eagleholic said...

Belle is still just hanging out in the nest.

DanaMo said...

Worried that we will lose our feed. wind is picking up and I'm getting the spinning arrow.

paula eagleholic said...

I feel like I should be hearing that wind but I am not.

Just rain down here this week, no snow or ice.

DanaMo said...

Thanks for the response Judie.

DanaMo said...

My sound is all the way up and I don't hear it either.

NCSuzan said...

Thanks, Paula. I have seen videos of them in ice and slush. You just do not want to believe that anything you care about suffers at all.

paula eagleholic said...

Gotta scoot.

Will catch up later tonight.

Lolly said...

Refreshing once again.

DanaMo said...

Nice long stay in the nest. Feathers blowing...it's a beautiful sight. :)

JudyEddy said...

Hello home from work and find eagle in the nest NICE

DanaMo said...

Just looking around. Looked up at the camera as if to say hello. Love our Belle!

JudyEddy said...

as windy as it is WE HAVE NO SouND AGAIN

Lolly said...

Actually had to reboot again to get the cam to run. Really irritating.

Lolly said...

There is just a low hissing sound when the cam is up and running.

JudyEddy said...

I wonder if its a ODC thing with the sound??????

JudyEddy said...

LOLLY are u using IE or Google Chrome?? or firefox??

JudyEddy said...

thanks for the Feb 15 date SHIRLEY

stronghunter said...

Love seeing our Belle there in the nest.

stronghunter said...

I need to go get some dinner going. I think I hear Hunter doing some chores. I think Kathryn gave him some cleaning jobs in his room.

Well, that was a mighty eagle yawn. Do eagles have tonsils? I think I saw some@

JudyEddy said...

moved to NHZ and I see tail

Mema Jo said...

Dana, the spinning arrow is a common occurrence - don't think that it is caused by the wind... Refresh it or try clicking on pause.

Guess we may have 2 days in a row of decent winter weather. Then look for
a lousy weekend.

With the wind it looks like a ice storm as the trees drop the ice

stronghunter said...

Spent some time this afternoon talking to my insurance agent. Need to decide soon about homeowners/car insurance. Always willing to save some money.

stronghunter said...

Wind seems to have picked up. The sycamore is swaying.

JudyEddy said...

me thinkith they are gone

stronghunter said...

Looks that way, Judy.

Eagles are amazingly well fitted to take cold, ice and snow in stride. After all the largest concentration of them in North America is located in Alaska ! It sure is looking like this is THE nest and I expect to see Belle settling in and getting down to bizness very soon. Y'all were so right about her way of eating heartily prior to laying the first egg. One of the sweetest things I ever saw in watching these magnificent birds was the time Norfolk Mom labored so hard over the laying of a second egg. Dad watched and stuck around to see the egg. He then left and was back in minutes with a big fish which she tore into and ate from stem to stern in a very short time ! Love that memory and miss those VA eagles so much !

Received an e-mail from my son, Lee. He's recovering from jet lag in Cologne, Germany. He's to be a speaker at an Anthropology conference--he was here in November at their invitation and they wanted him back for this one. He'll return to NJ Saturday, just in time to celebrate his Feb. 9th birthday. My baby will be 53, how can that be ?

Oldest child, Eileen is on a Chicago bound train with her beau. They're going to stay in and explore the Irish section of the city and will return to Grand Rapids Friday evening.

Julie and I are stuck in snowy Columbus, what's wrong with this picture ? Hugh didn't even go his office til' 11 a.m. and I've never known him to be leery of snow. It's bad out there !

Kay said...

I thought this might be the night Belle would stay in the nest, but guess not.

Time for din-din--my version of a chef salad. Want to watch Jeopardy tonight as Richard Cordray is one of the tournament contestants.

Love and prayers for all in need !

SNOW tomorrow, but thankfully only a dusting. Also, a hint that freezing rain and sleet may be in the forecast, too.

Lolly said...

Presently 28, going down into the teens, and staying this cold tomorrow. Groan!

Please read

I just received an email from Sandi and she wished for me to pass on to her friends that Lisa had just called her with some bad news from her mom's Dr. She wouldn't give any specific details at this time - Sandi needs time to accept them. Sandi wrote:
"Please just let everyone know that I need some time to process some very sad news in my own way and really don't want a lot of emails. I know that you all will be keeping us in your prayers and that means a lot. The doctor told Lisa but not Mom and we are not planning to tell her either.....

As we all know Denny is on his way to WV to be at Lynnis' for a few days. Sandi was sure she would be missed here on our blog when she didn't come on in the morning and that was the reason for the email ♥

Let's continue the Prayer Power and the positive thoughts for our dear friend Sandi.

I have no information and will honor Sandi's wish for No FB and No emails to her. Also I don't think we should speculate on the situation but just hold things in our hearts. Jo

JudyEddy said...

Thanks JO for the update we will respect her wishes and keep her close to heart
Her and her family have a rough patch ahead and will need up all to support her I agree Bless her family

Hoda said...

NCSUZAN I did not send the twin pictures to everyone.
I am so afraid that somehow we will slip and it will show up on FB.
I did not mean to exclude anyone. Sorry if it came through as such.
I will see if I can forward you the email.

Very cold and very windy here! Gracious me HUGE white caps on the lake. This is the coldest it has been this winter yet no snow forcast.

Silent prayers for Sandi and her family.

Sandperson is already packing a satchel of sleepy dust.

The night light is set for 11pm. Restful sleep for all.

Just so you all would know!
We are sitting at minus 4!
Yes that would be Fehrenheit
In celcius we are minus 20!
Yes that would be -20!!!

OK now I will try to sleep again!
Not too successful earlier.

Good morning everyone!

Still playing catch up from last weekend, and have not yet had time to read back all the way.

This morning I'm getting ready for my first day of clinical at another hospital - and it's a 12 hour shift, another first.

So glad to see the eagles are becoming full time nest owners and fixing the place up again. :)

Time to jump in the shower.

Good morning
MEMA JO: thanks for the SANDI update. Holding space for her…her sister and her mother.
LORI: have a great day!
LOLLY: so sorry you are puny again. Hate that you have had a setback. Looks like you may be getting snow in your area; a day just to relax!!!
Not a lot here. It is cold. It spit snow bits all day yesterday…..just plain cold all day. Not as cold as HODA’S weather, but cold none the less. I seem to be feeling it more this year. Or maybe it is colder. I do not know for sure.
Work and ice skating today. Some errands need to be run. I will do those on my lunch break.
Off and running on another day! Light, love, hugs, smiles and healing for all.
