I fell asleep in front of the TV with Emma last night, and woke up SOOOO late! Just dragged myself off to bed.

I've got to tell you about what's been going on around here--we have a bunch of sick honeybees! They are flying low (below-the-knees height), and slowly, and they seem to be disoriented. Those that do fly higher are getting caught in spiderwebs on the back side of our house. We've found 3 or 4 dead bees inside the house, and didn't see them flying around at all in here. It's been escalating over the last couple of weeks. I'm worried about our bees! Megan, do you know anything about bees? I'm not sure who to call to try to find out what's happening. Right now, there are 4 or 5 of them walking around aimlessly on the back patio. Something's not right!
Oops--time to brown some sweet Italian sausage for dinner. Gonna add it to some fettucine alfredo. BBIALW!

I just wanted to let you all know that Pepper has passed over the Rainbow Bridge early this afternoon. Her passing was peaceful and she was surrounded by people who love her. Thank you all for you compassion and support.

Jack and I just made a couple of rolled flank steaks to put in the freezer. That is like having money in the bank. LOL Remembered that Linda wanted the recipe, so I emailed it to everyone. Warning, you gotta like to cook to make this one! But, it is our favorite dish!!!

Hello everyone. I just got off the phone with KAY!
She said she felt like she turned the corner yesterday having her rehab schedule split up and that they are doing better with her pain medication, though she still has pain and will until she's fully healed. The doctor told her the pain at this point is typical ... that her back was basically broken in three places with the 3 disintegrated discs, and that takes a long time to heal.
She asked Julie to get her set up on her computer tomorrow and she hopes to be back on the blog this week!!!
Kay asked me to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and hopefully we'll hear from her tomorrow! She said the food there is very good! Chocolate sugar free ice cream was delivered as we were talking.
Her doctors told her today that she can expect to be there for another two weeks before going home.
YAY!!!!

Back from a day of shopping!!!
There is so much out there and it is overwhelming, I get lost in what I see and had to stop several times to go for tea and lunch instead!!! It is done...did much better after my yoga practice than before yoga. I seemed to have better focus and did not get lost in the colours and the shapes of the handcrafted items I was looking for. I went to the Artisanant stores only in Nelson...they had a good selection and I was able to even solve the problem of my hair barrette that is metal I found a leather engraved and wood one and I put it in my hair right away and it works...
I will go get my tea and read back...I hope everyone is doing well and I missed you today and when I was at the café having lunch I wanted to send you a message telling you where I was but they did not have wifi so I did not try to do the blog or email...

Evening all...it's finally an almost bearable temperature outside. Hit 98 here today, muggy.
I'm fearful of my baby bluebirds...they are fully feathered and almost ready to fledge in a few days, but they looked lethargic, and were open mouth breathing when I checked after work.
OH No LYNNE are they dehydrated? Were they exposed to the sun today...98 degrees is hot...not here...we had a cool breeze when I was in yoga class...we had all the windows open as it tended towards the warm side...Happy Solstice LYNNE

Okay Kids~~the cool news that you might know is that Momster Ceil (we don't see her on blog much) and her hubby Jim Lambert came with the Baltimore Aquarium group to the Park yesterday. They were going on an osprey banding boat trip with our super nature guy, Greg K.Got to see her for awhgile before the ride and they were still out when I left work.She had been there on a regular boat trip w/Momsters & Dadsters about 3 years ago.
At Chelsa (farm office) today we saw a couple real neat critters. Have to dwnld camera and hope something decent is there!

Oh talked to Mr Studmuffins tonight...he made it over the bridge before the crane cargo ship came thru...didn't see the ship...but his neighbor at the beach did too, but he stopped at the restaurant on the eastern shore at the end of the bridge, Hemmingways, and sat and watched it go under the bridge! Said it was pretty cool...said the restaurant was standing room only!

It is a perfect 75° right now, but was a steamy 95° when we took GG to get her hair touched up.
She didn't want the wheel chair, so we took the Wheelie Walker and she walked with it for a while, but got so tired she sat in it to rest, then Gene pushed her all the way to the beauty salon...she didn't object:) The hairdresser brought some colorful life back into her hair and she looked gorgeous!
She ate a fruited muffin and a glass of milk for breakfast and a half ear of corn and half a cup of noodle egg-drop soup for her supper.
She was doing better today than yesterday, but still falls asleep at the table. Doctor appointment tomorrow afternoon. Anxious to hear his opinion about her recent actions~

Getting back here pretty late! Got really busy this afternoon. We have a slew of fledged night herons in the yard, and Emma's not happy about it! They are perching on the backs of our patio chairs, and those chairs will be difficult to clean up! They don't shoo at all, which doesn't help. Ah, well, this too will pass, eventually.
Delphia, so sorry to hear about Pepper! I'm glad that she went peacefully, though, surrounded by her family. You gave her a good life, and she knew how much you loved her. (((HUGS)))for your aching heart.

Good morning Lori! Both kids in the nest. Calling for a high of 97 degrees today! Headed to the outlets first thing this morning (need a dress for Saturday's wedding), then to the beach with the family (Mom, sister, brother-in-law, Madeline & Michael). Have divided the house into 3 "zones" in an effort to keep the 3 dogs happy and safe for the next 3 weeks.

Good morning everyone. Birdgirl I am so sorry to read that Pepper is gone form here. I am glad for both of you that she was indeed surrounded by those who loved her and her passing was peaceful. Kay may get on today, that is very good. Not sure if i am a day late or on time for a Happy Anniversary for Lolly and Jack Today should be the day my family comes to town. The day that started with one of those headaches ended with my daughter in tears and an emergency Dr Appt first thing this morning to see if he advises her to go ahead and make the trip or not be able to go. Bleeding when she didn't expect to be. Eric and elia will come without her i guess and she will stay home alone if that happens. Please pray my daughter can make the trip and that she will be very very careful and heed his instructions if he lets her come. I am so worried and pretty darn disappointed. I did my best to re assure her but it does indeed worry me ARGH!!!
Glo, I am so sorry about this sudden turn of events! Fingers crossed that the doctor lets Becky (am I right on the name?) make the trip! I'm sure she needs to see her mom as much as you need to see her!

Yeah Heard from Becky. She can make the trip BUT needs to be very careful and slow it down. She did some reaching stretching kinds of things yesterday that she is NOT supposed to be doing. I told her if she does not slow it down and take it easy her body will slow her down. Hopefully this is a wake up call to her that although she feels stringer 2 weeks past major surgery her body is far from healed and she needs to take care of herself RIGHT for several more weeks. I will see them at the airport soon now. I am so relieved and I think she gets the message to BE GOOD!!!
