Linda, branching in the tree...is branching...but flying to different branches in the tree...I always considered a flight away from the nest as fledging...may have to rethink that.

Just read the other thread, seems the eaglets have been witnessed flying from the nest...so I would say we have juvies and that they have fledged!
At least one has indeed fledged. My guess is Missy and Bro is the one up high on the branch. Neither yesterday not this mornings flight looked like an eaglet afraid to make that first flight. Also left from the same spot a little after 2 oclock etc. YES one is definitely flying around and doing it very well.

Good morning everyone. I see the nest is empty now and I guess much has changed since I was last here. I hope the young eagles make out good now away from the nest. Also, hope veryone has a great week and if not great at ;east it's bearable. Got some chores to do today while off from work and might check in again this evening. It's really exciting to see the resurgence of bald eagles especially in an area where I live. Before we got our small house in Martinsburg about 24 years ago, we lived in an old house trailer about a mile or so from the nest site. The trailer is still there as we've seen it when passing the nest on the way to fish at Dam #4. I still would like to see them in flight and hopefully I will see that one day. Take care all and I'll add my thoughts and prayers to everyone's here for those that need them.

So these eaglets have been totally different than the ones we have had in the past. We knew when they fledged, without a doubt. These have just been all over the tree! Maybe it is from having different genes.

Missy just missed the nest and landed on the limb below. Crap!
I saw her shaking her feathers a little bit after she landed but she fell there. She is at the left hand bottom corner on the screen.
Did you all see that??? A Juvie came tumbling down missed the nest and is presently below the nest in the lower left hand corner of the screen...there was rattling when it took off, not sure who is in the nest now, I think Bro though...Missy missed her landing is what I am saying...Windy.
I saw that, she's still sitting just below the nest, it's very breezy here today, it looked like the wind caught her.
Stuff like this is what I really don't like. She is still there.

Yes, that is a huge bill, but it depends on what food and drinks you are having at the reception and how many you are serving. She should have known what it was going to be. You sit down with them and discuss it all before hand. Been there, done that....will not tell you what Laurel's reception cost, nor Michael's rehearsal dinner in Dallas. It set us back a wee bit. LOL

They are charging $600 setup fee for the alcohol and that is without any alcohol. They can only serve beer and wine. It is all nuts. They have like a $900 service charge that is charged by UC on top of the venue fee. Big business for sure.
But it is what it is. They will meet tomorrow and hopefully some of that will get shaved off. I am sure everybody freaks out like that when they get the bill. I did a little. for the contract for the rehearsal dinner but it is what it is.

According to your comments and I've only gone back as far as late last night, they are both heavily vested in their liberal arts education now. It's a heavy schedule, with branching and flight school, hunting and fishing class and survival skills which include "the use of ones back bone when it comes to vying with sibs for food and parental attention" ! This is the ultimate Reality Show and the stars are performing beautifully ! I've watched many nests since late 2007 and find it amazing to see how many variations there are in Eagle family dynamics. Kind of like we humans, they all have basis similarities, but each has their own twist on what makes for successful outcomes ! Love em' !

Yikes, SHAR, wedding costs are soaring. I've read that the average traditional wedding/reception now costs 20-30 thou, when bills for all parties in the picture are taken into account. I'm sure the memories will be priceless and hope your dear son and his bride will have many, many years of happiness !

I am so frustrated with the company that is supposed to ship George's medication. I am supposed to be on automatic delivery every month, but the pills did not arrive.
I called, the pharmacy said that the company that does the shipping has not placed the order.
So I called them, and they said that they company I have been using has been bought out by another company, so they have to have all new orders from the vet and that the vet has not responded.
So I called the vet and they said that they did not receive the message.
So George is out of pills.
So, now I am on hold AGAIN.
They said that they would call me, so I just hung up. I hope they call soon. I will be finding another way to get the pills if I do not hear something very soon.
The pharmacy is in Arizona. I have no idea where the distributor is. It is a medication that has to be compounded by the pharmacy, but I might be able to find someone local. I to not like this.

I phoned the pharmacy to get my prescriptions renewed for my USA trip and to get copies of my prescriptions so I can cross the border with 2 inhalers and an epipen...it did not used to be so complicated to travel but then again I was much younger then and I have never bought medical insurance and now I do...

I do not know if it is shame, she is not as aggressive as she was chasing the adults off as she did yesterday. I think of this as Belle's Nest so I like the term respect in relation to Belle, a recognition of sorts as to her stature...

Evening all! Have been watching the cam since I got home from school but told myself I couldn't post anything until I finished writing my last IEP of this school year! Woohoo!!!!!I AM FINISHED!!! Hoda, can you hear me shouting all the way up in BC? Andy, can you hear me in CA? Judy, can you hear me in FL? FINISHED, I say, FINISHED!!!
The meeting isn't til Thursday but I need to send the draft home with the student so Mom can proofread and come to the meeting with any suggested changes/additions. This young man is not going to be a happy camper at the meeting b/c I am recommending that he be placed in a special education class for English, science, and social studies in 9th grade. He'll be 16 in September, yet is only reading on a 3rd grade level. He has struggled in regular ed. classes this whole year - he'll never make it in regular classes next year, even with a special ed. teacher in the room for support. He's just too low!
Our 8th grade recognition ceremony today was very nice - lots of parents came. Josh didn't make it. I will see his mom on Thursday when she comes to school for his transition to high school meeting.
OK, I think I'll watch an hour of TV if I can stay awake that long! Found out today that I will be housing 3 young tennis players who are participating in next week's pro tennis tournament, plus the coach of one young lady and the mom of another. Can't wait to watch some of the matches.
