I drink everything out of coffee mugs, and I have a powerful collection of them...
some "earmarked" espcially for tea, they are the more delicate ones......

MARGY I drink my tea out of mugs also even though I say a cup of tea...only when it is a fancy occasion do I drink from a tea cup and saucer...with the CFUW we always drink in cups...I think the over eighty group would not approve of mugs!!!
Tennis @ 9 for me, so I need to scoot so I can eat something and get dressed.
CarolAnne, I also use a coffee mug for my tea - tea cups are too small IMO.

Anyone know anything about variegated zelkove trees? Planted one out front about 4 years ago and it has done beautifully. But I just noticed that, although ALL the other trees around the house (sweet gums, black gums, maples, dogwoods, Japanese maple) are starting to wake up and have buds, this one still looks asleep. The branches bend and don't seem brittle. Did a Google search and can find nothing about when they start to leaf out. Hopefully I'm worrying about nothing, but I love this little tree!

Lori, so sorry things didn't go so well for Kate and her mom last night. Prayers that this will get easier.
Sandi, get a knife and make a small "peel" in the bark of the tree. You don't have to got deep, just peel or scrape the outer bark. If the under layer is greenish, the tree is fine. Had to learn about this worrying about our baby redbud.
Big 'un and Tiny are COVERED in flugg....like little eaglets in an Easter Basket!

On the subject of tea...my grandpap would make it in his tea cup, and then pour small amounts into the saucer and sip from it! He said it was cooler and he could drink it better that way!

About 2 evenings ago before dark, I saw the funniest interaction with the two chicks. Both were asleep next to each other in the bowl. One closest to camera was strecthing wing and hitting back chick. Back one stood up and popped #1. Then the front chick finally backed out of the bowl and did a P.S!!!!
Hi all - back from tennis! Lynne2, thanks for the tip on the tree. Scraped the bark and the trunk is green as green can be, so it must just be a tree that leafs out a little later. All of my crape myrtles are still asleep as well.
I am trying to talk Dennis into hopping in the car to ride over to James Farm Ecological Preserve to see if the osprey pair have returned or to Assawoman Wildlife Refuge to look for the eagle nest that I know is there somewhere. So far, he is resisting!
I see that our eaglets are on the move today and are getting suntans! They are SO CUTE!!!

Brian just called from Tanzania. Turns out that Lynnis isn't crazy about the Kindle Fire he bought her for Christmas - prefers the web browser on her iphone, plus he just bought a new ipad. So, I'm buying Lynnis's KF with a leather cover for a great price! Will have it in a few weeks!

Hey Lori, sorry it wasn't going to well with Kate's mom. I hope the situation improves. Such a difficult time. I don't look forward to it either. My parents are 70 and 74. Last weekend my dad fell at Mass and I wasn't there. Someone called to tell me about it. I fear this and more with my parents.

Hi, Everyone,
Hope you all had a blessed Palm Sunday, and April Fool's Day.
We have had quite an afternoon and evening. The neighbor who lives next door to our desert house called, and told us that our gardener came over and told him that someone broke into our house, by breaking one of the patio sliders on the back side of the house! We called Security, and the Sheriff. The Sheriff called to let us know that it looks like a bunch of teenagers were having a party and drinking in the house.
There's apparently not a lot of damage, but they did leave some graffiti on the wall. He said it's not going to be a difficult fix.
However, Kubby had to call his boss and get tomorrow off, and we are both going to make the trip up there to take care of the situation. We've called the insurance company. They were looking up someone who boards up broken windows, and were supposed to call us back, but they never did. When we tried to call them, the number was "changed or out of service" with no new number on the voice mail. Please pray that nobody will break in again before we can get the slider boarded up.
Security is going to keep a close eye on the place, but I'm not sure whether they will be checking out the back side of the place, or just driving by. Golly, it seems there's always something. We didn't drive up there today, because we figured it would be nearly impossible to get someone to board up the broken slider at 4:30 or 5 pm on Palm Sunday. Hope we have some success tomorrow. It's a 90-minute drive one way. Emma will have to stay home alone, so we'll be concerned for her while we are gone. We hope we will be able to sell that house before too long, because it's becoming an unnecessary source of stress for us. It's a really complicated situation, though, and we need to find a probate attorney who knows real estate. My cousin is a part-owner, and we haven't seen or heard from her since about 1994. She hasn't contributed a cent to either the payments, or any repairs. Tried an internet search to find her, with absolutely no success.
More prayers, please! The place was completely refurbished inside about 5 years ago, but we haven't rented it out. My Dad, when he rented the other house he owned just down the street, had the place trashed by the renters. Yikes! MTBR tomorrow....
Very happy to hear that Lynn was feeling better today! Hooray--no nausea! Hope the massage was just what the doctor ordered. Sending love and (((HUGS))), and prayers for your healing continue!
Lori, praying for the situation with Kate's mom. Certainly hoping it works out well! That's a tough one, for sure.
