Terrific yoga class. Nelson has three micro climates and I am in the lake micro climate so even though it has been snowing since one PM it is not sticking to my are of Nelson. Uphill and Rosemont are different stories though. So is downtown Nelson. People are very excited about skiing tomorrow...

OK, just as I was getting into the shower, Steve called. They are at a standstill on 95 in SC, they think about 100 miles from Savannah. I tried to get info on the traffic sites but none of them were reporting an incident. DUH. Finally called the SCHP and there is a very bad tractor trailer accident somewhere in front of them. They are trying to get it cleaned up, no ETA on when traffic will be moving again. They've been sitting for an hour now. IF traffic started moving right now, it's going to be 3am at the earliest by the time they get to Jacksonville. But it is NOT moving yet. What a mess. They are all so tired. I am hoping that they will get off the road and get to a motel once traffic moves again. This is crazy.

some people are riding down the shoulders of the road, some are trying to turn around...not a good situation. They don't even know how far to the next exit on 95 is that they could possibly get off on.

I have a book....NEXT EXIT, if I knew what mile marker they are at I can tell them how far to the next exit. Can also tell them if there is a motel at the next exit.
Or, I can tell them what the closest exit has a motel.
So, sorry they have encountered this delay.

JO it is so exciting to be able to have fresh vegetables. When I lived in Northern Québec a head of lettuce cost 15-20 dollars as it was flown in on a hercules plane.Yet here are all these amazing stores and all carry an assortment of affordable fresh vegetables...when we get food grown in California we get it stamped USDA...I think of that part as an extre bonus...I enjoyed my supper very much now for a cup of tea...
Lolly, no one has seen a pip...so i don't think so....but a pip...we will know it when we see it!

there have been a LOT of escaped STINKBUGS here at the Soper Stinkbug Ranch today. I have been rounding them up and rewarding them for their cleverness with a swim in the SPECIAL POOL.

Oh PAULA I refused to pay that price for lettuce or any other fresh vegetable, I ate root vegetables for ten months of the year, or frozen vegetables which were expensive but not outrageous. Nelson in comparison has 6 large stores all with fresh vegetables which come in three times a week...I feel very lucky...two of these stores are 100% organic and fair trade produce. Safeway and Save-on-foods also have organic sections...
I must say...I have never eaten Kale, but I would give it a chance if presented with it.
Raising the kids and working...we ate canned veggies. Now we eat fresh, and steamed. However, this week I bought frozen veggies for stir fry and they were very good.
Belle looks like she is sleeping now. Her head is down, but not tucked.
Time to say good night. Tomorrow is bowling day. See you later!
Does saying "my favourite colour is clear" mean I am very clear in my thinking or does it mean I am clueless...I had never heard this expression before I came to the blog!!!
I do love fresh veggies and fruits, but when the prices are just too ridiculous, frozen ones are a great replacement. It has been said that frozen has just as much nourishment and vitamins as fresh, so that is a good substitute.

Pipping weather at the nest today:
Showers likely before 8am, then a slight chance of showers & thunderstorms after 2pm.
Partly sunny, with a high near 75. Wind between 5 and 15 mph.
BELLE WAS JUST UP CHECKING THE EGGS, AND DOING AN EGG ROLL. SHE WAS UP FOR A GOOD TIME. IT WASN'T YOUR QUICK EGG ROLL AND PLOP DOWN AGAIN. SHE IS NOW SETTLED AND FACING 12.

BOTH EAGLES IN THE NEST...BELLE? STANDING AT 10
TOO WEIRD...HE'S NOT MOVING AND THE OTHER EAGLE IS JUST STANDING THERE ON THE RAIL.
UNKNOWN EAGLE TOOK OFF AND SHEP IMMEDIATELY GOT OFF THE EGGS AND DECIDED TO STAY IN THE NEST. HE'S SETTLING DOWN, PLAYING WITH TWIGS AND FLUGG, FACING 12.
Belle just flew to the tree. Shep got up and looked like he was going to leave, then settled back down on the eggs. Both eggs looked like - eggs. No pip that I could see.
OH, IT WAS STILL TO GLARING TO SEE ANYTHING ON THE EGGS. CAN BARELY SEE SHEP'S SPOT AT TIMES.
Shep is determined to get a big stick exactly where he wants it, leaving the eggs uncovered for a minute. Now settling back down on them, facing 4.

Weather fairly moderate in So Cal this morning, but by the weekend we should be hit by a 'strong, cold Pacific storm system', which I am personally totally looking forward to ... hahahaha.
Eagle on the BWO nest; NBG seems to have another female setting up house. I haven't been keeping up on that one enough, I guess, because this morning I don't have a clue what's going on there.
I've got my final follow-up appt. for the Ophthalmologist this a.m., and I'm planning to ask about the need for glasses, etc. They have an Optometrist right in the same lobby at the office, so it's no problem to talk to them too.

OMG - 2 parents AND 2 fish in the nest!!!! I am SO EGGCITED!!! Surely, this means an eaglet is on the way!! So proud of Shep - this was a big hurdle and he has just done what needs to be done all along this season!
