Good morning!

Well, Hunter had chocolate cereal and a glass of chocolate milk for breakfast this morning. He found the chocolate syrup I bought awhile back.

I almost didn't buy it because it will cause the milk to disappear even more quickly than it usually does. Funny how that happens.

I just like a little on ice cream from time to time. But it might not last that long.

Speaking of chocolate--chocolate custard pie. Mmm, I would like to make that disappear.

stronghunter said...

We just split! Didn't notice at first. Easier to miss with the comment box down here.

stronghunter said...

Eagle cries. Both in nest.

stronghunter said...

Lots of wing flapping. And Belle poofs.

WV sUSAn said...

Oh boy, SHEP jusr aiive with some breakfast and POOF BELLE

paula eagleholic said...

Belle calling out...up off the eggs and here comes Shep with a small meal.

Belle is flapping her wings off, 3 times. Shep at the 9, Belle off with the small meal...Shep heading to the eggs.

And already have to refresh my cam after 2:31. wow

WV sUSAn said...

Good Morning Sycamore Palace and eagle fans. What is our countdown now, about 9-10 days to the first hatch?

stronghunter said...

Shep seems to be watching something.

WV sUSAn said...

Or closer, maybe next weekend. That would be so nice.

Shirley, it is a true anomaly how chocolate syrup makes the milk disappear. ha ;-)

stronghunter said...

Looking towards 6:00, intently and back around at about 3:00.

stronghunter said...

Chocolate syrup makes the milk disappear. So do Oreo cookies.

WV sUSAn said...

I haven't read back past this page. Did we have a quiet night at the nest, with the exception of the wind?

WV sUSAn said...

Well all righty, cam stopped againat 11:43. Shep is still keeping an eye on something.

stronghunter said...

Grey, dreary, damp morning here.

WV sUSAn said...

I see both of Phoebe's chicks are still at the nest. Fledging soon.

Lynne2 said...

Good Morning all!

I just posted pictures on my blog of last Saturday!

So glad Shep finally showed up this morning!

Was up til 1:20 last night finishing The Help. AWESOME!

Shirley, glad Hunter enjoyed the Sasquatch comments! You can tell him that when Puddles is being naught, we tell her we are going to use her as SASQUATCH BAIT!

Steve's kinda breakfast, by the way, he LOVES his chocolate!

stronghunter said...

Wow! What a lot of snow at the Snowman Cam. Had not been there in awhile. Looks like a wet snow. Sticking to Snowman's hat and branches.

Lynne2 said...

Yes Susan, we are in the HOME STRETCH of incubation!!!

Shep is doing the wiggle wiggle and tucking in some flugg!

wvgal_dana said...

Good Morning Eagle Friends too many to name I will miss someone. (:

WV sUSAn said...

Shep has to work the flugg to fit his little hiney.

Lynne2 said...

we'll have the full moon on the 8th, so the nest will still be pretty well lit up (barring any cloud cover) at night when the first eggbert becomes a blobblehead!

WV sUSAn said...

Phoebe is in and feeding.

wvgal_dana said...

Shirley so happy J's son is ok (:

stronghunter said...

Hi, Lynne!

I like chocolate, but I avoid chocolate cereal.

Back when I was teaching and Rus was in high school, I got reports from my homeroom kids about what he was eating in the cafeteria in the morning: "Mrs. Phillips, Rus had chocolate milk and Ho Ho's for breakfast this morning."

stronghunter said...

Love your cute little bird, Lynne.

WV sUSAn said...

Lynne2, wouldn't that be oh so nice.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Shep knows how to do the wiggling and flugging really well now.

Mema Jo said...

Morning everyone ... Hoping that everyone had a peaceful night... The
nest looks good with sun shinning on our eagle.

Need to read back after I jump in here.

Lynne2 said...

mmmmmmmm...Ho Ho's and chocolate milk. YUMMY!

Time for street clothes. Need to urge Hunter to get dressed, too. BBL.

Time for street clothes. Need to urge Hunter to get dressed, too. BBL.

Lynne2 said...

I have seen women in walmart with pajama bottoms and fuzzy slippers before. interesting....

stronghunter said...

Kids go to school that way, too. Kind of nice to see them dressed in what Jo calls "street clothes."

Lynne2 said...

so excited!! Just got an email from the Carroll Co. Library. You can suggest books for them to buy for the library and I suggested the Crossley Guide to Eastern Birds book....and they got it!!!! They are holding it for me!

stronghunter said...

I saw a news story about Chinese people. It seems that it is quite common for them to wear pajamas on the streets, and when the Olympics were there, they were told not to do that because Western people are not accustomed to seeing people in pajamas on the streets.

stronghunter said...

Now to go get dressed!!

stronghunter said...

Yay, Lynne!!

Lynne2 said...

oh yeah, I've seen kids dressed that way too. And in all other manner that would make my grandmother faint dead away with the vapors.

Lynne2 said...

My biggest fashion mistake was going to church on Good Friday in my play clothes. My BF Valerie and I had a tradition of taking Good Friday, between 12 and 3pm reflecting on Jesus, sitting under the Dogwood trees in her yard. We didn't eat or drink during that time, but packed little lunches to eat after 3. Anyway, one year, we spontaneously decided to go to church. Well, my mother found out.....WOOOOO WEEEEE was I ever in trouble for going to church in PLAY CLOTHES!!!

paula eagleholic said...

I don't see anything wrong with Hoho's for breakfast!

BTW, when I was down at Lynne and Steve's last week, Lynne gave me a copy of a really nice Audobohn bird book...it is for Eastern birds.

Lynne2 said...

I argued the point...wasn't it better that I WENT to church, on my OWN, even though I wasn't in CHURCH CLOTHES??? Silly woman. I got grounded, of course.

paula eagleholic said...

Interesting brown roundish item in the nest at the 4-5 spot.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I had sent Lynn a text to see how she was this morning. Please pray for our friend. She is weak, sore, can't get comfortable. She is too sore to reach the keyboard to type and to weak to sit at the table. #CANCERSUCKS!!!!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Ho-Ho's are the breakfast of champions, right?

magpie said...

Thank you for the update, Sharon on Lynn, though it is difficult to know our friend is in such discomfort...

Prayers NOW and throughout each day and night....

GOOD SATURDAY MORN
TO YOU, EAGLE PEOPLE.

vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv

We have three of four on.line nests in the Channel Isles with eggs this morning, and when I first looked, both adults were working on their new nest at PH (now CH, I guess).

Still on the coolish side at night and warmish side days ... desert winds ... in So Cal.

Back from tennis - great workout!!

JUDY, I could probably get a way with the jammies on the court but the slippers would be tough! =)

SHIRLEY, when Brian (older son) was a kid, the only cereal he ate was Count Chocula, Cocoa Puffs, or Cocoa Pebbles. he would have poured chocolate milk on the cereal if I let him. Loved chocolate cake with chocolate icing - all things chocolate. Still does!

LYNNE2, God doesn't care what you wear! But Moms sure do!!

SHARON, thanks for the news on Lynn, makes me sad.

LYNN, prayers and more prayers for you that you feel better as the day goes on.

SUSAN, great news on your BFF coming home for the hospital!

I sent ROBYN a message on FB introducing myself and explaining how I heard about Tori. ROBYN sent me a friend request - YAY!

Happy to hear that Shep finally showed up - sunny at the nest! Still gray and wet here but warm!

WV sUSAn said...

Great news at Channel Isles, Jim.

Good to know, Lynne2!

movin said...

Mema Jo, I've always been a peanut butter (and jelly/jam) lover, and now that I learn that peanuts have a lot of 'good cholesterol' and are good for your heart and arteries, I may be eating even more of it than ever.

Have you tried some Miracle Whip on whole grain bread, peanut butter and banana, sliced long way? I think it's great, and have it fairly often.

C(°ٿ°)D Jim

WV sUSAn said...

Jim, that sammich is pretty detailed. Bet you DO have that often. Sounds delish!

I've been looking for LYNN, also. I just hope she is taking a morning nap, and that hunger wakes her up:)

Lori O. said...

DanaMo, Sharon relayed the message from Lynn, who emailed Sharon saying she wasn't feeling well and felt weak.

movin said...

"Morning" to you too, Lynne, sUSAn.

I do eat peanut butter a lot, and I get the original kind, just peanuts and a little salt. Out here at least, the major brand of that type is Laura Scudders, and it is goooood. You can even put it in cookies and taste the peanuts when you're done.

I forgot the name of that dude who invented peanut butter, but I am eternally grateful to him.

Linda, glad you checked in but not happy to hear you have been ailing. Hope you truly are feeling better today!

I hope someone is with Lynn to help her out today.

Sandi, I envy you the trip to BW next weekend! We've wanted to go for the last couple of years, but the spare money isn't there. But I just KNOW that by this time next year, things will be different! We look forward to seeing pics and hearing all about it!

Need to go to the GROSSery store, then I have a task to complete today, one that I do with so much love in my heart....

Hopefully will find some time to clean up the front flower bed today...geezowhizo, weeds are going nuts!

I was watching the clip of the female at SC laying her first egg last night, and I was reminded by the sounds of when I was growing up in the country just south of Del Mar.

We had a giant Sumac bush, which had to be at least a 100 years old on the SE corner of our lot, and every spring (or near spring) we would be treated to a never-ending serenade all night by cute little green tree frogs.

Occasionally, you could catch the little devils, and they WERE very cute ... tiny little feet with suckers on each toe.

It's comforting to open the cam and find Shep being his sweet fatherly self in the ☼ ! Reading back there was a lot of worry over him earlier---waste of energy gals---our eagles are doing a great job of behaving like eagles !

So distressed to learn LYNN is feeling so bad today. Prayers continue and more fervently than ever. Thanks to SHARON for the message.

Loved all the sweet talk, as in, chocolate. Fortunately I've always been a vanilla person and can't relate to chocoholism. However, Stan and my sister were both addicted as is my youngest grandson, Cooper. He eats way too much of the stuff. He and Seth are the first and only picky eaters in the family. Seth's addiction is catsup---he eats it at almost every meal and on things like mac n' cheese, chicken of any kind--missing great flavors by masking them with catsup ! No, I do not speak up about those food oddities as it's not worth the effort. Their tastes will expand as they mature. They are both trim and check out okay with the docs, so I'm not worried.

Good morning/ Good afternoon all.

back from store, spotted USB (unidentified swimming bird, not to be confused with UF(lying)B, or Up(erching)B. Take notes, there will be a quiz later) on the little pond past the big pond next door.

Unloaded, put away GROSSeries, got binos, camera, back to pond. Should have put on hiking boots, but the tennis shoes will dry soon. Should have gone to the bathroom first, too. Live and learn. Walked through mud down to pond. Found a pair of UFBs. Got quick look in binos before they saw me and flew off. I'm 99% sure I got a good enough look to ID a pair of Hooded Mergansers! Never seen them before! Woodland ducks that live around woodland ponds and nest in tree cavities like wood ducks.

In the retention pond next to the small pond just past the big pond next store (LOL!) were Bullfrogs croaking away! Saw some very large egg masses amongst the reeds. And 2 pairs of Canada Geese. Also saw several bluebirds and a Red Shouldered Hawk flying and screaming!

Hoda said...

He takes his food in his beak and flies off from five.

I step away for a minute and I am sure it is Shep on the eggs right now...His tell tale mark is showing and he does not fill the cup as much as Belle...there was a changing of the guards even though I did not see it. Shep is on...How long is he going to be on? Will Belle return for the night shift?
