There have been some pretty heavy snowfalls around Presidents Day over the years in these parts. I was advising everyone at work today to "prepare for the Big President's Day Weekend Blizzard of 2012" LOL!

Ladies, I am calling it a night! I hear sirens near the nest but no eagles calling out! Shep seems relaxed, maybe Belle is opting for lookout duty all night! Goodnight eagle friends - going to bed to pray for calm at the nest and in all of our lives!

Just checked the nest and all seems quiet now. Hopefully, whatever was the cause for alarm has departed and all will be quiet. Yes, I can just picture Miss Wanda charging down the road to the nest with her eagle cane. What a terrific sight that would be!
Lowreeda, I am so excited you went to Ledo's for pizza. It seems to have been a long time.
Lolly, had to laugh. What was gross? The gin soaked KK or the tuna fish? Well, the tuna salad was tasty for a late supper.

Well, I guess I must surrender. The sandperson is about to make the blog rounds. Has sprinkled eaglet dream dust in my eyes and is headed out. The night light is on for those who may need to arise in the darkness and for those who may stumble in late from the West coast. Restful sleep for all and a night of peace and quiet for our eagles.

The strong winds have calmed down quite a bit tonight, thank God. It was blowing like crazy here this afternoon.
Judie, thanks for the night light. I'm making sure the porch light is on, and enabling both security systems. Have said prayers for everyone, and am giving thanks for all the prayers that have been answered. Sleep tight, everybody.

Thank you very much for the posts on the activities in the nest tonight. I found myself being tense...I trust you all in thinking something, an intruder, eagle or owl is disturbing our Royal Couple...LYNN spoke wisely to wait till day light to see what is going on too and not to do too much specualtion into reality.
I agree with you all SHEP is in the nest on night duty.
It seems quiet now and he is facing ten and is awake.

All quiet at nest right now, but Wow, what a lot of alarming calls you've reported through "prime time". This may be a natural instinctive measure if there is an owl/predator/intruder in the area. Belle is the larger of the two and may look more scary to the perp. We may never know, but hope the rest of the night passes serenly and that all is well when the sun comes up.
I watched all of GA, but dozed through most of The Mentalist--did catch the ending, thankfully. Just had to check on the nest status before turning in. zzzzzzzzzzzz

OK noise on the camera sounded like scratches and then eagle chirps and Shep is certainly awake
too dark to tell but Shep's neck was stretched out so it was probably him vocalizing.

I think we're getting some decent amount of snow Saturday night and Sunday. NOAA is saying the snow is likely but isn't saying how much...it's always dicey when they wait so long to put out the accumlation estimates!

LOL! I have used Colgate Gel to clean the bathroom basin--not using my toothbrush ☺--it cleans beautifully and leaves such a wonderful scent in the room.
Can't imagine what inspired you to try this sUSAn, but it's great. Please pass on any other hints you may have. LYNN, SANDI, LOLLY and I love household hints !
As I recall, you like snow, LORI. Hope it's just enough for your enjoyment and not enough to create traffic problems for Monday. Columbus temps are in the 40's and 50's with no snow in the forecast until rain/snow next Wednesday and snow on Sunday the 26th. What a great winter this has been !

Today is red Friday for us at school again. In celebration of our Archbishop becoming a Cardinal in Rome.
WJLA last night said that there is 0 percent chance of a "snowmegadon" this year for Pres. Day. Some snow accumulation but they don't think it's going to be the big one. Interesting to see what all the other forecasters are saying, even though they are all wrong!
Morning whoever is on! Just got the call that we have a 2 hour fog delay =) but i couldn't fall back to sleep b/c I had to make sure our eagles and egglets are OK. Am I seeing an eagle with a spot on its head STILL in the nest? Gotta read back - Bella will just have to be hungry for a few!

MARGY, my keen eyesight is thanks to cataract operations in 2006. A miracle surgery ! Since then have no restriction on the driver's license and use glasses only for close up reading. Could have opted for OTC glasses like LOLLY has just purchased, but got an Rx, so I could have transition lenses because I'm not good about wearing sunglasses.
SANDI, so happy for you ! A two hour delay !

So it appears that, when I'm finished rinsing with my Listerine, I should spit it in the toilet and then swish it around rather than spitting it out in the sink! Thanks for the cleaning tip, Susan (was it Susan?)!

NBG cam down, but according to moderated chat female #3 has been in or near the nest from yesterday afternoon through to cam going down about 3 this morning. They are hoping she's the one and that they'll soon have some eggs. She has lots of black feathers left on her head, but is molting so that will soon change. The latest they've had eggs there is about March 22nd, so there is plenty of time left. Fingers crossed !
Was up way too early for Tylenol and now getting very sleepy. BBL

I got a card with a cardinal on it. I love it you probably don't remember me saying My Dad loved pictures of the male cardinal. It is setting up on kitchen table.
Comcast is coming to look tomorrow but I'm thinking it isn't them. Which means I might be getting a new television. The one I have is a 53" but it is not flat screen. Glad the money was put back for one.
