Lolly, you did A LOT!!! Shame on Jack for not helping!

hedgie said...

Hi, Margy! How was your day? A little busy with the Jeff Co fire, but didn't hear a whole lot of other stuff except the BOLO on the robbers---where and when did that happen??
Lots of unconscious people, too---maybe they got started early on their celebrating. :(

Lori O. said...

New avatars everywhere!

Sure wish I could stay up til 12!

Mema Jo said...

Good Evening - No plans for tonight other then saying Happy New Year One and All! May happiness, joys, love, peace and good health be on your plate in 2012

Lori O. said...

Hey, I made the split! Champaigne all around!

hedgie said...

I see from the ads that Dick Clark is going to make his appearance tonight. So sad......such a vital guy who appeared ageless until that stroke. Hard to watch. Same with Kirk Douglas. :(

Thanks for the WCV update, Sandi. Guess I better check FB....haven't since this morning.

Lori O. said...

You, too, Jo! I sure hope your leg stays feeling better. I think you have a great way of celebrating the New Year. I'll do the same!

Lolly, 80 bulbs, is a whole lot! And, they will look beautiful all in red!

Mema Jo said...

Whoops, I didn't know that we SPLIT..

Mema Jo said...

I may just watch Baltimore's New Year
Fireworks display. Maybe I'll see Paula getting interviewed !

Linda said...

Lynn - Glad you're feeling better.

Darn....I was cooking and missed the visit. You'd think with all the technology in this house, I would have had something in the kitchen at the appropriate time!!

Made some chicken garlic bites to take to a party we are going to this evening. Have to make an appearance for at least a while. We are not much for going out New Year's Eve, but this is our Bible Study Group and others from the church, so it should be nice to see everyone.

I'd better go take my shower and get ready to go.

Hopefully, I will be back in a few hours, but if not.....

Happy New Year to My Dearest Eagle Family!

BBL......with any luck...

hedgie said...

Smelling the onions in that quiche! Getting hungrier by the minute.

Lolly said...

Lynn, couldn't expect Jack to work in the yard when his team is playing. I would be inside if TCU had been playing. I got lost on the split. lol

hedgie said...

Sounds like a nice evening, Linda. Enjoy!

Jo, good to see you!! Is your mailbox full? Sent you one last evening and it bounced back saying that it was....???

wvgal_dana said...

SIDNEY FIREWORKS IS A LINK BEFORE THE SPLIT

hedgie said...

Paula has pics of Bal'mer and the harbor up on FB.

wvgal_dana said...

I have a few Christmas movies on DVR recorded and I want to order the movie "The Help" off tv for tonight. That will be my gift to me (:

Tomorrow I will go to Mothers and fix most of the New Years Dinner.

wvgal_dana said...

How come the night light comes on at the nest but it doesn't look anything like it worked last year???

hedgie said...

Oooh, Lolly....looks like they're heading for OT. Bet Jack is fit to be tied!

Costume Lady said...

I smell quiche...love all kinds!
I also heard that LORI is passing out Dom Perignon champagne. That would be a great combination for a NYE midnight snack!

I've been TRYING to get all clothes and bed clothes, rugs, towels washed. Everything has gotten so far behind. So very hard to go down the steps to wash clothes and they have accumulated to such a huge pile, that it is a wonder we have anything left to wear! I have one load to go and then a whole big pile of Capt. Gene's sweaters that need to be washed separately. I do them one at a time in the washer's low gentle cycle, hands hurt too much to do handwashing...can't wring them out~
My office is next..need to throw away a lot of catalogs, etc. from the shop. Still thinking we will not re-open next year.

Karla is doing well today. Rachael took Jayden to visit with her. That is sure to lift her spirits!

hedgie said...

Dana, the light did not work right last year, either.

wvgal_dana said...

Hi Wanda (: Sorry there are stairs you have to go down to wash cloths. I know that is not easy on your knee.(((HUGS)))

hedgie said...

Hi, Wanda! Sounds like you are working way too hard.....but know that you want to get stuff done before the big day. You sound like me!!
Good to hear that Karla is doing well. Is her incision glued?

hedgie said...

Oh my.....field goal attempt.....

hedgie said...

Of course, a time-out! 2 seconds left....into the wind....

hedgie said...

Hold on, Jack!

hedgie said...

NO GOOD.......yikes......Overtime....

Joyce said...

Time for me to sign off for the night and to wish you all the very BEST NEW YEAR EVER!!!
It's been fun chatting today. I look forward to many more visits in 2012!

hedgie said...

Happy New Year, Joyce! See you later.

wvgal_dana said...

See you later Joyce have a good New Years.

Lori O. said...

Happy New Year, Joyce. We look forward to your frequent visits in 2012!

Wanda, you do sound just like LYNN before her surgery, trying to get everything done beforehand.

Hope you have a nice time at your party, Linda. Be safe.

hedgie said...

Decided a Bloody Mary would go well with quiche.....yum! And it's all ready!

wvgal_dana said...

If you want to loose anything just come to my house. I still can not find my Steelers watch Ed gave me.

Now my black fannypack that I took to Colorado and have used since I have been home is lost.

Lori O. said...

FloBear and Dalai got new beds today and they've been in a peeing contest (you know what I mean) ever since we put the new beds down. Each wants both of them!

hedgie said...

Oh, too bad....Utah wins. Sorry, Jack. :( Good efforts.

DanaMo said...

Steaks are on the grill and I'm ready for a nice meal with my whole family!

wvgal_dana said...

I bet a hoarder could find things in their place and I can't in my clean house. lol

Hoda said...

I love the new avatars...so festive on the blog...
I did get twisted in knots at least three times today in yoga LYNN but managed to get out of all of them OK...Three balancing poses and on the third I was not too balanced on my right leg but did not topple over...LOL

I am staying in tonight and starting a new book...Caucasia it is called...My sister Carol recommended it.

The health food store is closed Sunday and Monday so I did my groceries today...

I love the kitty pictures LINDA and LORI...thank you for posting.

A 4th visit today and I think Mr. SHEP is simply slightly disoriented after his twice poor performance earlier the day...

hedgie said...

Call on St. Anthony, Dana!

Lori, hope they make up their minds as to who gets which bed!!!

DanaMo said...

What did I lose? LOL!Oh the other Dana! ☺ Never had that in my life so it's kinda funny now!

Happy New Year, WV Dana! Tony, Tony look around, somethings lost and must be found!

Lolly said...

Fell asleep. Jack is disgusted with the game. He went out to admire my work. Geesh...it is too warm for a fire tonight. Got up to 73 today. Presently 67. I want a fire!

hedgie said...

DanaMo----you've never lost anything? How lucky you are!!
Your dinner sounds great---and even better is that the whole family is there!

My quiche was delicious---really hit the spot, and the Bloody Mary is very good, too!

I am heading to the sofa for a little while. Feel like I've worked hard today....LOL!! NOT since I spread it out!

DanaMo said...

Oh I've lost plenty, but when I saw the post to Dana to pray to St. Anthony I was momentarily confused. I haven't lost anything TODAY! LOL

CarolAnne said...

Happy New Years Eve to everyone (past & present today),
Reading a days worth of the blog is like reading a great book - almost like an encyclopedia it covers so many subjects - from eagle visits to road trips, to kitty cats & dragon boats. :o)

CarolAnne said...

Bubby & I headed north this morning, going to celebrate NYE in the north woods. So little snow here we decided to take a drive over to the flowage to look for the eagles. Couldn't see any by the nest, but they are often over by the big lake picking up fish the ice fisherman throw out on the ice. Posted pics of the area & the nest tree on blog at 12-31-2011.
Have a great evening everyone.

Lolly said...

Oh, wow, CarolAnne. Looks like you had a great day. Jealous! And you did see an eagle! Awesome!
Happy New Year to you and yours!

grannyblt said...

Linda, your new kitty reminds me of our "Porch Kitty" who was a Morrris look alike. He was by far the sweetest cat I ever owned and the only one my DH really liked. We somehow never came up with another name.

Nice pictures, CA! Looks like a beautiful area. Wonder what's under that big tree and what's holding it up now? That's a great nest picture, too! How close can you get?

hedgie said...

Lynne1---Lolly's daughter had a porch kitty, too....who is now an indoor kitty!

CarolAnne, pics are wonderful. I want that carved eagle! How close can you get to that nest tree??

Lynn I surely agree, blue bird...and half hour before that I was watching a couple of nuthatches on the nest.....
can't get pics from work

your "capture" (in the E-M album) is nice !

magpie said...

I think I should have made a New Year's Eve date with Wanda..
I rather like doing laundry...

magpie said...

Linda's "Mittens" and Lori's "No-Name" (for now) are dear, look like they are cousins to each other !

magpie said...

Hoda, I could be cleaning here too BUT am going to treat myself to some reading BEFORE my eyeballs and I get too tired to enjoy it...

Sounds like some good New Year's Eve-ing it going on in our Eagle Corners....including the quiet at-home times....that's for me...
Neighbor guy made ham, cabbage and macaroni and cheese, and shared........so that's my dinner, to be had soon...

Happy New Year's eve to everyone.

Been a little busy yesterday and today. Way behind on my blog family activities.

Did get to the GDub game today. Did a beat-down on Delaware.

Plan to head for the pillows early with a mystery.

magpie said...

Judie!!!

You can set the night light for us early setters, that's the opposite of early risers!!

Happy New Year to you and Darth, Stella and Naomi

Is your mystery book, The Case of the Shrinking Trousers, or The Case of the Night Bandit? Both are mysteries to me !!!

xoxox ♥

Judie said...

I have set the night light to turn on at l2:01am for anyone headed back the hallway, down to the tub, up the stairs to bed, staying up to watch "the ball" (or Dick Clark) drop, or straying in from the West coast. The sandperson is being very lenient tonight and says to enjoy the transition from 2011 to 2012.

In advance: I wish each and every member of my blog family a peaceful transition from 2011 to 2012 and may this new year bring peace and good health to all♥

Judie said...

Oh my, the sandperson reminded me:

HAPPY NEW YEAR, STEVE. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO FOR US AND MAY YOU AND YOUR FAMILY HAVE AN ESPECIALLY NICE NEW YEAR.

NatureNut said...

Glad you checked in, gal!

So Tom Sweetie is still cooking....and sharing! Good for you, Margy---sounds very good.
Are you off tomorrow??
I echo all your and Judie's sentiments for our Momsters/Dadsters and a great 2012!

Liesl is making bedtime hints...guess I better go cater to Her Highness! Just hoping that no nitwit nrearby sets off cannons at MN that will wake her up!!!

Lolly said...

Jack and I just finished dinner. We had Involtini di Vitella with linguine and homemade pesto. Also, having a great bottle of wine that Michael gave his dad Christmas.

Texted with Ashley. They kissed Zacharooski's tummy for me and sent a pic. They are having a great time in Malibu. I posted pics of Zach on family pics blog if you did not see them on email. They are having a great time.

Lolly said...

Forgot to mention, they gave us Waterford wine glasses for Christmas. Having our wine in them. More than a bit ridiculous but it is what it is!

magpie said...

Prayers for the patient and the flight crew...

Habby New Year to you, Loweeda! May the new year be a far better one for you and your family!!

Costume Lady said...

Loretta, you come up with the cutest Eagle Makeovers!

Zach's Grinch make up is very nicely done, too cute:)

MARGY, I always whisper a prayer when I see the medivac flying to or from City Hospital. You pretty well know that it is something critical...just makes me sad.

magpie said...

Me too, Wanda....we all know someone at one time or another who has been airlifted out......

Costume Lady said...

LYNN, you are so right about wanting to get housework done before the big day! I don't want to sit or lay around the house with dirt and laundry piled all around me for however long I will be laid up!

Sandi said...

Back from seeing "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo." Excellent movie - complex story line so you have to really pay attention, but very suspenseful and fast-paced! I'm ready for a bath and then bed - I'll be asleep way before midnight! But I didn't want to miss out on wishing all of you a 2012 filled with lots of family & friendship, lots of love & laughter and with many more good times than bad! I know I've said it before, but I feel so blessed to have found this group! Happy New Year all! C ya in the AM!

Costume Lady said...

Good question, LYNN, about Karla's Bikini cut...glue or stitches. I never thought to ask her. She said the incision is about 8 inches, but said nothing about it's closure.

Costume Lady said...

HAPPY NEW YEAR, SANDI! Glad you enjoyed the movie. I haven't been to the theatre to see a movie in umpteen years.

magpie said...

Happy New Year Sandi..and to Bubby also ☺☺
some had asked about that movie...

I viewed ALL your pictures....very lovely !!

Hoda said...

It is only 7:35 PM PST and I am beat. I did not get much sleep last night as I stayed up to finish my book...
I am going to take a hot bath and call it a night...

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone.

Good night and God Bless.

Sweet Dreams.

Lolly said...

Lolly said...

Happy New Year, Glo! Heres to you and DEX!

Lynne2 said...

you know, many people have been quite surprised when I have told them I'll be 50. I attribute this to the fact that I act immature and it throws people off!!!

Oh dear, very bad weather heading for Terra Alta Sunday...wet heavy snow, ice, sleet and then all snow, and lots of wind. UGH.

magpie said...

Happy New Year, Dear Glo ...and best wishes to Dex, and your Coffee and Treats pals, Jean and Dave ☺

Lynne2 said...

well my dear Momsters, I'm heading to bed. Going to watch the activities at the Harbor from my pillow....if I make it that long!

Lynne2 said...

No Conowingo tomorrow...plans have changed and Steve and Dave will be going fishing. I may tag along to bird watch, not sure. Knee has been quite annoying the last couple of days, but for a couple of weeks now, it really hasn't been too bad so I can't complain!

Costume Lady said...

Oh, my dear Margy...an offer to help with my laundry is precious! I have quit for the night, but, have only one or two more loads and Capt. Gene's sweaters. Thank you for the offer (and I know you meant it!), but I think I can wrap it up on Monday.
Soup Kitchen Tuesday and pre-op at City Hospital 7:30 Wednesday morning...Y..A..W..N:)

Lynne2 said...

Have a good night and prayers for all~!

Costume Lady said...

LYNNE, do you think a cortisone shot would help? They have worked wonders for me in the past!

Lolly said...

Night Lynne! Happy New Year to you and your Stubby!

hedgie said...

Lolly, your Waterford wineglasses will go well with the Waterford Ball when it drops!

stronghunter said...

Sandi, Kathryn and I just saw Girl with the Dragon Tattoo tonight, too.

We went to the new VIP theater that is part of Splitsville and Movico. It's a part of the theater that allows only those over 21. It has luxury seats and a restaurant/bar. We decided we needed to check it out. It was quite nice.

Kathryn was particularly interested because she has read the books, so she had a head start on following the story.

You are right--it was very interesting and suspenseful, but complicated.

hedgie said...

It's snowing here - started during the night - so beautiful & peaceful out. Will get pics a bit later when it gets to be daybreak.

RE: MY 12-31-2011 pics -- I could walk right up to eagle nest tree - - - if I was brave enough to walk across the ice (NOT). If I can get video to load you will see how water is still running under the flowage ice & over the dam.

I do not know the carver who made the eagle on the driveway arch. There is a sign that says the arch & eagle are in memory of a certain gentleman. Never see anyone around that particular cottage.

CAROLANNE, I would love to have light snow on the trees and grassy areas - hope that's what you're getting.

MARGY was the only Early Bird amongst last night's revelers. Sounds like it was a safe, sane, sober New Year's Eve for our group ! Of course, we do still have some folks who haven't checked in last night OR this morning.

DANAMO, you asked what we each have on tap for today. I'm starting the year off with Malcolm, the granddog. He'll be with me all afternoon & early evening while his family does some partying. I love his company and am very pleased !

Looks like bad weather is on its way to some starting tomorrow. Read this on the news just now:
The NWS also warned that 8 to 14 inches of snow, "with locally higher amounts," could hit an area covering parts of Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia, including the cities of Frostburg, Hightown, Bayard, Mount Storm, Elk Garden and Circleville.
