The split came sneaking up on us, huh ? Ouch, I got wax !

Lori O. said...

I know....when is JUDYE going to be back on...maybe time for another HODA/JUDYE phone call.

Lori O. said...

For once I made the split with no help! yeah!

Kay said...

Doing the splits gets harder as you age, believe me !

Lori O. said...

I keep thinking they're going to show up again, like they have the last few days.

Good morning,

Shucks, I missed the eagle visit this morning.

Lori, you mentioned that bunnies like dandelions. We have sat in our kitchen and watched a bunny munching on a dandelion. It's cute to watch the stem disappear down the bunny mouth.

T-Bird said...

Good morning my friends.

Kay said...

Hello SHIRLEY ! Any follow up news today on that horrible shooting incident of yesterday ?

LORI, wonder if the Duggar's eat lots of dandelion salads and drink dandelion wine. I'm jus' sayin' !

Kay said...

Hi THELMA, did you get in on any of the BELLE n' REM visit ? Has the snow you had the other day melted away ?

Lori O. said...

Don't worry, SHIRLEY, they've been known to pop back in for a second morning visit. :) Hope so.

Good Morning, Thelma-Lou!

Lori O. said...

Kay, 20 kids is insane, especially when she and the baby nearly died after the last one. That's nuts.

Kay said...

LORI, you reported Beckham as saying it takes him 10 minutes each morning just to kiss his growing family. Can you imagine how long it takes Jim Bob Duggar to do the same thing ? LOL

Kay said...

I usually leave at 7, but stuck around to keep gLORI company. Now that SHIRLEY n' THELMA are here I'm going to go into LM. Want to read my papers and e-mail. HAGD and I'll BBL ! Love ya, LORI, I've enjoyed our EARLY BIRDING !

Lori O. said...

Thanks Kay! Me, too. ((Big Hug))

STUPID BLOGGER COP ATE MY POST.

Morning, eagle dudettes and dudes!

Glad you all got to see the eagles. Good report!

Lori, 4" incision, horizontal just below my bra line. (in a fat roll!!!)

Hoda, so glad your entire Sunday was a rousing success and much fun!

Out to get the papers and put the trashcan away. Need to vacuum the truck out. Hauling a friend and it is still full of beach sand!!!

BBL.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...
I just had to say, if Jim Bob had spent more time with his children and less time with his wife, maybe they wouldn't have 20 children:)
To earn a living from popping out babies, is NOT what the Lord meant when he said BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY ~

hedgie said...

And now it posts it twice...go figure!!

Costume Lady said...

Lynn, you work too hard. I'll bet your friend likes beach sand:)

Lori O. said...

Lynn, ROTFLMBO!!! Mine would be in a fat roll, too, if it were there.

T-Bird said...

Shoot, I missed the visit.

wvgal_dana said...

Good Morning to Everyone.

Need to go back and read from the start of today.

T-Bird said...

Yes Kay, the snow has melted. It was so nice.

paula eagleholic said...

Morning, all!

Today is Cohen's 6th Birthday! Happy Birthday Cohen! Nini loves you! ♥

T-Bird said...

Happy birthday Cohen. Good morning Paula.

Lori O. said...

Paula, is Cohen your grandchild?

hedgie said...

Kay, hope that your area is spared the possible severe weather today!

Truck cleaned out.
Make-up done.
Papers read.

Moving right along.....

Lori...addendum: NO staples or sutures----SUPER glue!!!! That will be cool!

hedgie said...

Wanda, I know my friend DOES like beach sand.....but it makes the truck look too USED!!!!

I guess as long as the Duggers are self-sufficient, they can do what they want, but to risk going through what they did when Josie was born is just plain foolish!!!
I did find it interesting that when they were in Little Rock during the Josie crisis, they lived next door to P. Allen Smith and also went to his garden farm!!

Lori O. said...

Lynn, what's on your agenda today, being as you've got make-up on. :)

hedgie said...

Happy b-day to Paula's Cohen....and hope Gianni slept well in her big-girl bed last night! Hope she and Jayden stay safely ensconed. Christie was 2 when she went into one, and I had the bed safety rail on the outside. She managed to roll out one evening right after I got home from work. The minute I picked her up, I KNEW she had fractured her clavicle......back to the hospital we went. Figure-8 ace wrap wound around her shoulders for 2 weeks---most uncomfortable, too.

Thelma, if you like the snow, I'll gladly give you any that comes here!!!

I must have been wrong about the opening of gun season....I'm gearing lots of shotgun noise. :( Run, deer, hide! Come here to my corn! I'll protect you!

CarolAnne said...

Morning all, just passing thru this a.m.

Hedgie, have they told you what kinds of restrictions you'll have while you heal? Full recovery time?

Be good to yourself now & later.

Everyone, have the best day possible!

CarolAnne said...

Hedgie, maybe the shotgun noise is bird hunters. Our bird season overlaps various other seasons here in Wisconsin.

hedgie said...

Lori, having a luncheon for an old pal. Need to leave here at 10:45.

hedgie said...

CarolAnne---guess it MIGHT be turkey! Never thought of that!
They didn't mention anything yet about post-op restrictions or time-frame. I do know that if they should have to remove the spleen, I will need two weird vacciantions that most people don't get. Some kind of glorified pneumonia and flu types that I've never heard of!!

Lori O. said...

Good Morning CarolAnne!

Lynn, I'm with you. Hunting season is the only time of year we feed the deer and for just that reason!

hedgie said...

Yep----turkey is the only thing I see listed for now. Fly, turkey's, fly high!!!!

hedgie said...

Turkey are usually most active here in the early AM and before dusk.....sure don't see many anymore since they started logging the property behind our development, tho'. Used to see 20+ at a time right in the driveway, or on the corn..... :(

hedgie said...

There sure are some great tributes being paid to Regis! One thing for sure, I won't watch the show after he's retired.

CarolAnne said...

Well good. If they haven't made an issue of post operative limits, hope that means it will be bearable & allow a quick return to whats normal for you. Never heard about those vacines - interesting!

CarolAnne said...

Here's a Murphy's Law situation.Have my screen divided in thirds. One third is nest, one third is our cottage camera, and the other third has tabs for google, email, & blog. So: nest is empty, only crows & squirrels swiping the deer corn, email is read, and blog is pretty quiet. Guess that means I really should get back to the laundry & kitchen tidying.

hedgie said...

Loggers/sawers (sawyers??) have started up and gunshots have stopped...guess maybe they were hunting on company time (or maybe just sighting in their guns)!! For shame.

hedgie said...

Oh, no, SIL Shannon hit a deer this morning on his way to work. Happened in VA......says he's okay, according to his FB post. Wonder about the car...??? Thank goodness he has the truck to drive if it's out of commission for any length of time.

wvgal_dana said...

Lynn are you joking or do they use glue?

Have a good day with eating with friend.

Mema Jo is doing the same thing lol
funny

Glad to hear Margy had such a grand trip to Lori's. Lori you place sounds so nice. Then onto Berkeley Springs to see Master James. (:

Do miss JudyE.

Hoping Wanda can find out why GG is throwing up???? Prayers for GG ^j^ ^j^

Can't believe Thanksgiving will soon be here. Daughter will be cooking for a large group. She doesn't mind. Loves having the leftover that she makes many things for taking for lunches.
She said, "no body else in this whole group likes sweet potatoes". I told her, "I know you will still be fixing Moms sweet potatoes you always liked them". Yep she will and has added a little of her mix into mine lol

wvgal_dana said...

Sorry about Shannon vehicle. Hope he can give the deer if he is not keeping it. To someone that stops and needs it.

hedgie said...

Not kidding, DanaWV---surgical glue is being used a lot nowadays.

Don't know what the condition of the deer was...dead or alive??? Haven't heard.

hedgie said...

Time to re-dress and brush out hair....stupid curling iron broke it's spring. Will have to stop at $ General and get a new one this afternoon. If it's not one thing, it's another!!!

Talk to you all later today. Have a good one! OR as Thelma says: MAKE a good one!

Lolly said...

Good morning! It is getting close to the time for Steve's interview. Prayers for a great interview and a job offer!! Would love to see a picture of Steve in brown!!

Kay, a road trip cruise for the Momsters sounds like a fantastic idea! Wouldn't we have fun!!

Jack and I took a cruise to Alaska. Momsters would have loved it. It was not a big ship but small. About 128 passengers. We had a geologist and a naturalist on board with us. When we spotted whales, the ship stopped, when a bear was spotted the ship stopped. When eagles were spotted, again we stopped. Our cabin door opened to an outside walkway. One morning as I stepped out an eagle flew down and caught a fish right in front of me!

Mema Jo said...

Good Morning Everyone! I have played

Good Morning,Everyone!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PAULA'S COHEN!

Lynn, you have been on my mind constantly this morning. Prayers for you continue! BTW, when Emma was spayed, they used super glue instead of staples or stitches. Didn't have to return to have stitches taken out!...Bet Liesl was thinking of you last night. I'm sure she's enjoying being around all those other pups, though.

magpie said...

Hey there Lolly, and Jo, and everyone else!

Lynn, glad Shannon is okay, and do hope his vehicle is not too badly damaged.

Hoda, sound like your event last night was a tremendous success and loads of fun, as well!!

DanaMo, congrats on the sale of your quilt. Zach's school had an auction last Thursday.. Michael and Ashley bid and won the opportunity for Zach to be the teacher of the day in his classroom. Golly, would love to be a fly on the wall! He will do an excellent job. lol He plays school at home and does an excellent job imitating the teachers. Oh, and he did some reading for me last night. OMG His reading is fantastic!

Ms Bookworm said...

Oh, yes, LOOK at the time! Prayers, indeed, for Steve's UPS job interview!!!

Venison:
Lately,
I have never had to do anything with it but cook it! Several friends donate to me, includes stew meat, steaks, tenderloin, liver, yes liver! burger, balogna, Hot Dogs! and sometimes some beef sticks. Guess it has all been "done up" before I get it....
I make lots of stews and soups out of it, and sometimes just cook and enjoy the steaks and tenderloins.
I feel very blessed that my friends have been so generous, and it has saved me a lot of money.
Back in the day, when I was helping process it, the only thing we did was soak some of the stew meat in salt water

magpie said...

OH yes! Thanks for the Steve UPS Prayer reminder! He would be perfect for this job....
Thanks Lolly for the reminder !!

That's great Lolly, and I am glad you have kept Zach as your avatar these days ♥

Hoda, so glad you got to go to the Judy Collins concert! I've always loved her singing. Fantastic!

Lolly, would love to see Zach playing teacher! That's great that he is such a good reader! I have always said that if you can read, you can learn to do ANYTHING. There are no limits for a good reader!

Lolly said...

Time for me to start moving around and getting things done around here. Still have Steve on my mind and in prayer.

Have a great day! I will be in and out...sort of lurking!

Hi

Finished stress test. Waiting for next procedure. Yay! They gave a snack and coffee.

wvgal_dana said...

Ok Shirley we are keeping you in prayers and good result for those test.

Ms Bookworm said...

Pulling a Margy here--yes, Shirley!
Have been praying for you this morning, too. Waiting to hear a good report from you! :o]

Ms Bookworm said...

Margy, have a good work day! Please say "Hi" to James for me! Gotta run myself. Will BBL! :o]

stronghunter said...

Thanks, Dana. This stress test was easier than the one I had a few weeks ago. They had me keep going until I had to stop then. This time they stopped when they got the readings they wanted.

stronghunter said...

Thanks, Andy.

stronghunter said...

Dozed off when they had me under the camera awhile ago. Didn't sleep much last night. But I had to keep an eye on that machine. Looked like it wanted to attack me. Finally decided it was safe to close my eyes.

wvgal_dana said...

I have to get new battery for my One Touch machine that checks my blood sugar. So I need to run that errand.

Also just got a call from Mother. I need to go in to see what she needs.

Take care prayers for all test, health needs, all needs, Steve getting that job, GG feeling better, Linda to feel better, Sissy and family, those traveling even if just to meet a friend for lunch, all human needs on prayer list and any that God knows that I may have forgotten and prayers for God's creatures great and small. LYNN, we've had heavy rain, but no lightning/thunder. It slacked off about 10, but more is expected. Oh my, another deer hit. Sure hope Shannon's car will be easily fixed, it's been through the mill this year, hasn't it ? Hope both you and JO are enjoyed good company and excellent food !

LOLLY, you've descibed the perfect Alaskan cruise. Happy memories for you !

Happy 6th Birthday, Cohen ! Make a wish before you blow out those candles !

Julie just invited me to dinner tonight---fried chicken, mashed potatoes, butternut squash---my mouth is watering already !

SHIRLEY, glad the stress tests are over, what's next ?

Kay said...

Have been thinking of LYNNE and Steve. Hope we hear good news soon !

MARGY, have fun with the Kidster ! So nice of you to take him for haircuts. Lovely avatar, kiddo !

ANDY, your avatar is very special, too. I'm loving the emphasis on things and people we're thankful for. Nice way to get acquainted with families of our Eagle Buds !

stronghunter said...

Having lunch now. Go back Wednesday for Holter.

CarolAnne said...

How long will you need to wear the Holter for monitoring?

Linda said...

Good Afternoon All!

Shirley will most likely have to wear the monitor for 24 hours and return it. Hope the drive isn't too far!

Sounds like HODA was so excited and had such a wonderful day yesterday. I felt her joy!

Can't wait for a post from Lynne about how Steve felt about his interview with UPS. Wouldn't it be a blessing to have something like that work into a full time position with benefits? Praying that is the case, Lynne.

Other than EAR PAIN, all is well here. Trying to get some desk work done this afternoon. It's slow going. Just not into it!!

Linda said...

Grandchildren are precious, CarolAnne!

Lolly said...

Just checking in. I have scrubbed the kitchen and the kitchen table is cleared. It always "catches" stuff! lol Have clipped coupons and now straightening the den. Making my way through the house.

It is 77, I have the house open and the ceiling fans going. Not the kind of weather you want for November, but a beautiful day. I think I will get out later and mulch leaves again. It was supposed to rain today. In my dreams! Now, thunder storms are predicted for late tonight. Promises promises!

Annie is enjoying being outside and she wants me to join her. She cries at the door, but instead of coming in she walks away and looks back at me as if to say "Come on out!"

Jack has been gone for quite a while. He had another dentist appointment. He said the infection was back. This is getting ridiculous!

Yes, waiting to hear from Lynne!

Linda said...

Careful to close those windows when you mulch, LOLLY! You may have to dust the whole house after mulching if the windows are open!!

Hoda said...

Goodmorning /Good afternoon to all.
Finally got to sleep. and woke up late this morning!!!
I hope STEVE had a good job interview with UPS...
On my way to yoga. will check back in this afternoon. Snow on the ground has already melted.

Lolly said...

Good idea, Linda! I probably would not have thought about that! Duh!

Okay, back to work!

Just reading on fb. Poor Megan! Getting lots of bird nerds now to see the hummers. Told her to post a Beware of Dog sign! lol

stronghunter said...

Home. Want a nap now.

Linda said...

Shirley - Hope you can rest this afternoon. Glad you're home. Will be anxious to hear what they said since they want you to wear a halter monitor for a day.

CarolAnne said...

At last -- a deer at the cottage feeder. Will post pics later.

Still empty eagle nest :o(

Kay said...

SHIRLEY, I had no idea what a Holter is and so, to Wikipedia. Scroll down to pic toward the bottom. I think LORI may know one of the models. LOL

Holter Monitor

Your doctor is certainly being very thorough. I like that !

Linda said...

I thought it was a Halter Monitor because you wore it around your neck on on a belt - kind of like a halter top!! But I see it is a Holter Monitor!! LOL

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Gang,
I'm home from running errands, and about to get busy on transcription again, but wanted to check in here first.

Shirley, glad your test is over and you're home again. Holter monitor is kind of a PIA because of the wires, but 24 hours will go quickly. Kubby has had to wear one several times in the past because of his pacemaker.

Just saw one of our Anna's hummer males on the feeder. Have been hearing White Crowned Sparrows, and now have seen a couple of them in the yard--they're b-a-a-ck!

Better get to work. Will check in a bit later.

DanaMo said...

Home briefly then back to school for open house. I feel like school is sucking the life out of me! I know that really sounds negative, but we are being asked to do so much...and I'm tired.

stronghunter said...

Oh, DanaMo. I hear you. I hope you can get some relaxation when you get home tonight.

I did nap for awhile and now Hunter is here.

Hmmm, I see a face in the nest. Eyes are at 11:00 and 2:00. Nose is in c enter and lips are below it.

May disappear as soon as the lighting changes.

Lori O. said...

Lynn, is there a certain time at which you cant eat anymore because of the surgery?

Lolly. that little Zach sounds so adorable!

Happiest Birthday to Paula's Cohen! Six big candles!

Kay, tell Julie she can send me a care package of her dinners anytime! That sounds yummy!

Shirley, glad this stress test wasn't as stressful! :) Hoping for the best results!

Lori O. said...

So sorry, DANAMo! I have one of those days on Thursday when Loo and I have to go to Reston to tape a show with Arch. Loooooong day. (((Big HUG, honey)))

DanaMo said...

That made me giggle Shirley. I see the face! ☺

I don't want to go back to school and talk to people! I really don't feel like it. After the quilt and the auction and school today and now open house and this religion class and the reading class...how's that for a run on sentence. Oh my how I can whine!

Ms Bookworm said...

Omigosh, Shirley & DanaMo, I see the face in the nest, too!!LOL :oD

Lori O. said...

The eyes on the nest face are amazing! Oh, where is JudyE? She would love this!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

There is a lovely face in the nest. I do see it!

hedgie said...

HOME!!!!! Great gathering with lots of fun laughs, good fellowship and good food. One speeding ticket later....... :(
Getting decks blown off before it gets dark. Catch up soon.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

EAGLE!

Lolly said...

Uh oh! A speeding ticket?

Eagle!!!!!!!!!1

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

And poof!

Lolly said...

Poof!!!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Welcome back home. Speeding ticket, you?

Lolly said...

Hey, we are good,Sharon! I did get a pic!

Lolly said...

I think perhaps Lynn's mind was wondering while driving!

Lolly said...

Night light? No color now!

Lolly said...

I have finished out side. Mowed/mulched in front and back, but not way down front. Now I need to mop. Come on over the house is clean!

Lori O. said...

Boy that was fast! Turned the chicken and missed it!

Speeding ticket? Grrrrr.

Hoda said...

Sorry about the speeding ticket LYNN.

SHIRLEY it sounds lie your doctor is being very thorough. Glad you took a nap.

Happy Birthday to PAULA'S Grand son.

We did not hear anything about STEVE's interview...look forward to LYNNE checking in.

If JUDYE does not check in tonight I will phone her to let her know about the finalist names on our poll. Maybe she could go to ANGIE's and vote there...

Hoda said...

Oh I was here and missed the eagle...glad you two saw it.

Lolly said...

It was a quick visit! But I did get a picture.

stronghunter said...

I wish I had taken a picture of the face. Looks like the eyes have been moved now. Or at least one eye. They look to be leaves.

Time to call for Hunter to come home now. It is dark and I want to watch him walk down the street.

hedgie said...

Okay....I'm here.

Still no word form Lynne on Steve's interview....???? Nail-biter!

Shirley, if YOU had to work so hard, then was it really a chemical stress test??? Holter is a PIA....worse than the PIA blood bracelet I've been wearing since last Weds.!! Sure will be glad to ditch it tomorrow night!

Lori, they said MN for NPO (nothing per os)....that's bull!! The rule is 8 hrs. So since surgery isn't until 1:30, I can eat until 5:30AM!!! Not the least hungry now, but have left-over ribs from last night and I brough home Key Lime pie today....so good stuff ahead.

hedgie said...

Andy, I can't remember whether Mai had sutures or glue.....look like Liesl had glue because there are no suture scars.

Here is the report from Maxine if you want to read it:
Liesl did great last night. She is so busy playing with the toys, Bella, Riley and chewing on bones that she has no idea how much time has passed.

She slept in bed with us last night. Liesl was up by my head the entire night. She did not want to wake up this morning. Once she did, watch out. She was running up and down the hallway. First she was chasing Bella, then Bella was chasing her. Riley joined in of course. Poor Boots got caught up in the chase but he enjoys it too. They were also running around outside this morning before breakfast.

Liesl is doing well eating too. She ate like a Lady last night. Breakfast this morning she was more like a hoover vacuum. Guess she worked up an appetite.

Lolly said...

Uh oh, Liesl may be having too much fun! No, she will be very excited to see her Momma!

hedgie said...

Kay, I don't recall any other problems that Shannon has had with his car, except a manufacturer's recall. Am I losing my mind??? I know Charlie has had trouble with his truck (4-wheel drive).....hmmmmm.....will ask Christie if she ever gets home and calls me back!!

hedgie said...

I see on FB that Shannon said the car is driveable----that is good!

Lolly said...

Just loaded the one pic of tonight's quick visit to the album. Have no idea which eagle.

Off to mop floors!

stronghunter said...

The stress test was on a treadmill, Lynn. But they put in an IV and injected some kind of nuclear stuff. And they took pictures of my heart before and after.

I was there for about 4 hours, but much of that time I was waiting.

They said they would give me a snack and coffee. They did, but two fig bars wasn't exactly a heck of a lot of food.

stronghunter said...

BBL.

Linda said...

Oh Darn, Lynn..... sorry to hear you got a speeding ticket. Ugh!!

Sounds like Liesl is doing quite well, even sleeping on the bed!! She'll be spoiled rotten when you get her back! But you can rest knowing she is getting lots of love, attention and play time!

DanaMo - Sorry you're plum worn out. Too much in too short of a time. You do need a break. Unfortunately your job is requiring much of you lately.

Lolly - I'm sure your house ALWAYS looks great!

Okay, off to finish dinner....

BBL

hedgie said...

Okay, Shirley----glad that it wasn't the other kind!!

Oh, grosssssss......what Shannon hit was a DEAD deer that the car in the lane next to him hit and threw over into him. BIG STINK!!!!

hedgie said...

It is still 69° here! Almost balmy. Cloudy----we may not see the moon tonight. Sure can't see anything in the nest now.

Hoda said...

We are headed down to 23 degrees tonight. It is cold outside and I think there will be more snow from the looks of the skies...
I am so pleased LYNNE and STEVE now have heat and I hope we hear soon from LYNNE about how the interview went with UPS...Many people will probably apply and I know how difficult it could be to get on even for temporary work...I am still praying though...

Lolly said...

Gee, you are right there with me, temp wise. Presently 74.

Lolly said...

Lynn's temp is right there with me....not yours, Hoda. lol A bit chilly for you tonight!

Hoda said...

I did not think TEXAS was going to see 23 degrees anytime soon. Are you getting ready for yoru tip LOLLY? How long will you be gone?

Hoda said...

You said you will not have internet...I think you will be gone till after Thanksgiving...am I right?

hedgie said...

Phone calls galore this evening!!

Lolly said...

We are leaving Friday and we will get home the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Snow predicted the day we arrive in Pagosa Springs. Snow is okay, I just want the roads to be clear and safe! Laurel and Joey arrive Sunday night. Michael and Ashley get there Wed night.

Not getting ready yet. Have friends coming for dinner tomorrow night. Will start getting ready Wed. Will be strange to travel without our trailer!

Lolly said...

I did notice that my cell phone had one or two bars at the house. I might be able to get on the blog with my phone.

Lolly said...

Ashley will probably have her ipad, maybe I could get on with it. Hmmmmm??????

wvgal_dana said...

Did anyone get a picture of the "face in the nest"?

Lolly said...

But, I won't have much time anyway to blog. You all will just have to make a list of important news. lol

Lolly said...

I spoke to JUDYE. She will get her computer tomorrow. They still don't know what is the matter with it. I told her the names of the final cut and that she has till the 20th to vote. She hopes to get it tomorrow and then experiment with all the possibilities to find out what is wrong...elimination process...key board? mouse? internet box? She thinks the uy does not know what is wrong with it but does not want to admit it. She said to say hello to everyone and she will pick hers up tomorrow and hopes to be back on by the evening.

What a fantastic report on Liesl!
Sounds like she is going to need a playmate when she comes home. lol

I had a beautiful time at lunch. It is
so good to keep in touch with friends - even if you haven't seen them for months.

My hubby is calling my name & saying it is time for the tapes to roll.

Good evening all!

Happy Birthday Cohen!

SO sorry to hear about Shannon's deer problem this morning. UGH EEEK GROOOSSSSSSS but glad he is OK.

I'm posting as I am reading back so I may get updates as I go, but I sure hope GG is feeling better, Linda's ear pain is getting better, and CarolAnne's grandbaby, and Jay, too.

Hoda, so glad you enjoyed the concert!! Thanks for contacting JudyE....geesh, sure hope the computer gets fixed soon....she must be going crazy!

Shirley, I forgot about your stress test today...sorry. Glad all went well. So you have to wear a monitor? Why? I had to wear one for 21 day, 2 years ago this month. Was having palpitations. Diagnosed with A-fib.

AH...I see Leadfoot Lynn got a speeding ticket......UGH! How fast were you going? Glad Liesl is having fun at the trainers. I think, as others do, that you may be getting a spoiled dog back!

OK....Regarding UPS interview.....

Lynne2, you are cruel! What????

Lolly, hope your trip is super!!! I know you will all have a great time!!

Hoda, thanks for letting us know about JudyE.

It was a group interview, of 20some people. When we did the app online, he applied for the Driver's Helper position in Hunt Valley. The hours were to be part time depending on the persons availability, and between the hours of 8am and 8pm. But when the rep started talking, she said it was from 4am to 8am, and in the Dundalk location which is clear on the other side of town, further even that Steve's old job. She said the most hours anyone would get was 20 per week, and maybe not even. There would be no "set" schedule, but they have to be "on call" and the actual drivers would call them with a time and a place to meet. It was NOTHING like was described on the website. The pay was 8.50 an hour. So given all of that, Steve said no way. I can't really blame him. I don't understand why the position was described so differently on the website.

Lynne2 said...

oh sorry Sharon....figured if I tried it all in one post the blooger cope would get me. LOL!

Lynne2 said...

Funny story though....my friend and fellow bird geek at work, Sharon....her son who is in college applied for the same exact position and took a day off of college classes to go to the interview. I didn't know this. But Steve said that he "talked to some college dude" who was equally angry over the bait and switch tatics they used because he had ditched his college classes today to go there. Sharon and I happened to work the front desk today so she was sitting there when Steve called. I asked her if her son went today, and she said yes. I haven't met this particular son yet so I asked what he looked like and sure enough, it seems that "college dude" was in fact Sharon's son! Small world!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

It is a small world and she has a lovely name! :)

Tomorrow at 1:30 PM EST I would like to start a prayer group for LYNN and her Medical Team. If you are close to a computer chime in. If you are not next to a computer send prayers up for a healing surgery and through out the after noon we will all send Praises to God for all HE does for us and sing HIS glories with Gratitude...We hope to hear from your girls with updates LYNN.

hedgie said...

Well, Lynne, that stinks. So sorry it wasn't the right thing.
:(

Yep, I think I will need to get Liesl re-accustomed to life in this house with this momma!

Lynne, trooper SAID I was going 52 in a 35......I don't believe it. I was climbing a hill......unless the gun reached way the heck down the road when I was coasting down a hill........momentum, you know! They say not to ride the brake, right????

Lynne2 said...

LOL SHARON!!!

Lynne2 said...

HA HA Lynn! Nope, don't ride the brake!

I think Liesl is going to want a little brother or sister when she gets home!

hedgie said...

Oh, forgot to tell you, shortly after I hit the road this morning, my fav Sirius-XM station started playing Christmas music......TOO EARLY!!!!!!!! COuldn't believe it. And did see houses with decorations up already.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Sissy and Tom have the front of their house decorated and that is all Wal-Mart is playing now, Christmas music.

I will absolutely be joining in the prayer for our lovely Lynn tomorrow!!!

Lynne2 said...

we got a phone call at work today...good thing Sharon and I were working because none of the other gals would have know who to call or what to say or do....

A lady called, she had a big bird flopping around in her yard. She said it was brown, and not a vulture. We of course advised her NOT to try to catch it and gave her some numbers to call. Well, she didn't listen. She caught it and put it in a cat carrier and brought it in to us. By the time she got it there, it was flat out down with labored breathing. So luckily we were able to contact a rehabber in the area who was able to come right away. (oh, it was and adult red tail). Thank GOD for that...he was in bad shape and VERY stressed. She said she had to go to work and just couldn't wait for someone to come to her nor did she want to leave it. I guess it was the better option, but handling an injured bird, especially a large raptor is dangerous for person and bird. Anyway, the rehabber came, did quick exam. Appears to have a head injury of some sort, possible broken wing. He'll call us to let us know how it turns out.

hedgie said...

That is funny, Lynne. Is college dude going to do anything about it???? I was thinking of the same thing but couldn't remember the term. BAit and switch it surely was. Not right at all. Might even be illegal.....

Hoda said...

is that your excuse LYNN: Don't ride the break? I was given a ticket once because I was driving 50 in a school zone!!! The police man tried to warn me by flicking his headlihgts at me. He was due to be a guest speaker in my class the same afternoon....I was listening to the radio with King Edward abdicating the British throne for the woman he loved...it was a recording and it always makes me so sad,I have mixed feelings about the Duchess of WIndsor, Mrs Wallis Simpson...another story though...
Well he did come to my class in the afternoon and the kids thought he was coming to school to arrest me as they had seen me stopped by him earlier the morning!!! All this happened on a hill too, so similar to your story LYNN blame it on the hills I would say!!!LOL!!!

hedgie said...

Wow, yellow is definitely Ricki Lake's color! Pretty!

Lynne2 said...

well, even it it is illegal, would be hard to take on UPS I'm sure. Steve could have worked today. I feel just terrible about it all. It sounded like such a good opportunity that really wasn't and it cost us a day of pay for Steve.

Hoda said...

I am sorry and also disappointed in UPS for such a set up information to get applicants to fill in their forms...Very Disappointing indeed.

hedgie said...

Thanks, Hoda....that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! Glad I'm not the only one!!!! But, yikes, 50 in a school zone IS bad---for shame!!! Just kidding, of course!

Hoda said...

LYNN how long do you expect your surgery to last tomorrow?

hedgie said...

Nothing in the sky showing tonight except that jewel Jupiter! Kind of pretty seeing only the one planet standing out through the cloud cover.

Lolly said...

Lynne, so sorry the UPS job did not work out. The whole situation just does not sound "right".

I will probably be here at 1:30, 12:30 my time!

hedgie said...

Hoda, I haven't had a ticket since I was 21!!!!!! That should count for SOMETHING!!!!

hedgie said...

Time for my ribs!!

Hoda said...

LYNN I notice you did not tell us how much it was for???LOL!!! This is what bings the fear of God in me with tickets...The one ticket I told you about is one of two tickets I had in my life...the second one was in Vermont. I was driving down to Cape Cod from Canada, and I tried to tell the police man who was simply standing on the side of the road flagging cars, all with Canadian plates!!! I tried to tell him my car did not do miles I only had Kilometers on my speedometer and he only laughed and said good one...he gave me a ticket...LOL...Each one of those tickets came up to 50 dollars...I hate wasting money that way...

Lynne2 said...

Oh Hoda...nice try on the kilometers! LOL!

Lynne2 said...

as far as the UPS job...well, I just have to believe it's because something better will come along. It was our own UPS guy at work who originally told me about the openings and said to check out the website.

Something will HAVE to come along, soon. Or by January we'll be finding new homes for the cats and packing up to move in with my in-laws.....

Lynne2 said...

I put the story and pictures of the hawk on my blog!

Hoda said...

LYNN moving in with your in laws means you will leave your job? Too far to drive right??? I feel badly about the cats too...I hope something comes up.

Lynne2 said...

WAY to far to drive, and not the best solution. But at least we have a place to go. There are some other options, too. Those would require us splitting up temporarily. Not easy to find anyone who can take on the two of us, 2 dogs and 2 cats. The cats cannot go to my mother in laws because there is simply no place to put litter boxes. The don't have a basement or anything. But I really hope it does not come to that...the Lord will provide!!

Lolly said...

Poor hawk! Wonder what caused the injuries? Thanks for the pictures, Lynne. Very very sad!

NatureNut said...

Good Evening Eaglebuds! Been busy & then Panda nap today.
Fubby got a beef roast at BJs. He does not read labels!! Of course it's the tougfhest piece of meat you can find! I just got in oven awhile ago. It's gonna cook on low as long as I'm up & if I have to, will put it back in TU PM after work! AARRGGHH

Read about the RT hawk, Lynne. What a shame-wonder what happened to it? And sorry UPS was a bust. Prayers for something good soon!

Gotta send all the prayers and good positive vibes to our Lynn. Not sure I will be able to get online at Park, but I will be praying with everyone.Everything will be fine!! ☺ ♥ ^j^

Lynne2 said...

BUT, if it DOES come to that, I am just grateful that we'd have a place to go. SO many people are worse off than we are.

Uh oh, looks like Kay is getting some hefty rain and possibly some storms....

NatureNut said...

I Luv the number 7!!! Means good luck for all my prayers for everyone!

Thank you all for your sweet care, concern, love and prayers. Kids will get word to you as soon as they can.

Heading for the tub.....I'm tired. Didn't sleep well last night---lots of very weird dreams!!

Hope to see our birds in the morning before we head out of here.

Sleep tight. Love you all, and prayers for all in need.

Linda said...

Well I guess I didn't get back right after dinner......

Had some phone calls tonight.

Interesting ticket story, Hoda.

Lynne - So sorry to hear the UPS job was just a false tease. Very disappointing. Will keep praying for you and Steve.

Lynn - You will be in my prayers tonight and all day tomorrow until we get word you're awake and doing fine!

Count me in for prayer time!

I wonder if JudyE was having shut down problems because she was doing too much at one time. It seemed like she was downloading things and doing FB and the blog. Maybe it was using too much RAM on her computer.

I always load up on the RAM when I order or purchase a computer. It's so important!!

Well, I'm turning in for the night!

May God Bless and protect us all and the critters we so dearly love... xoxo ♥♥♥

Night ♥
