Lori O. said...

You go for it Judy! Love that 2 weeks + 2 days for good measure!

Gosh, around DC, if you put up lights too early, or leave them up after December 28th, there are people who pitch fits! Should they still be up on January 1, that is a H_LL raising offense. Of course, the closer you get to where I live, I'm a grinch because I don't put them up!

Lori O. said...

Please forgive me, thanks to MARGY's skillful posting habits, I've been reminded how concerned I am about ANDY AND EMMA.

ANDY, please let us know what you find out from the vet. Some boiled rice and chicken might be good for her tummy. But, FB and Dalai had that over the weekend at my parents, I was thinking it was because it was hot, the were excited, etc. Dalai actually started with liquid poo before we left, so I know it wasn't something at my folks. Odd. Please keep me posted. Poor Emma honey.

POOR Shirley. Jock straps! Who knew?

LOLLY, when you find the cure to Jack's grumpiness, please spread the word because I want to make sure my father gets some of it!

Funeral home info for Linda's brother Billy

Lori O. said...

I love you, MARGY, and you too THELMA! Thanks for being here this morning and perking up the place post JudyE who had to leave for work. ♥ ♥

hedgie said...

Good morning all.
Just finished picking my way through the mine field of debris in the driveway. Road itself is pretty messy, too. ARGH! Sure hope Charlie and the girls show up.

hedgie said...

From obit, Linda was the only girl among 5 brothers! WOW! Bet she never lacked for protection!!

T-Bird said...

Thank you Lori and good morning Hedgie.

hedgie said...

Hi, morning birds!!! Of course, two of you are gone to the salt mines...and Lori should be wrapping up her work day soon. Get some sleep, gal!
Hope that FloBear and Dalai are feeling better.

Andy, poor Emma---always a little worrisome when a frisky pup has a down day! Thank goodness her vacs are protecting her from many things that she could pick up out in the big wide world of doggy parkdom.
Sorry about the drs. "revision" tactics. ARGH!

Shirley....that maple tree will drop the spinners inside the fence whether it is in or out, so I say Yes---keep it inside the fence!!

Had no idea that posting the wine/sunscreen story would start such a riot among us! LOL! Trusting that those who like wine will give it a try. I can't stand the stuff myself!

hedgie said...

BTW----someone mentioned my "girls" on their trip to Cancun...it's just Christie and her hubby Shannon. I still haven't heard anything directly from them.

Lori O. said...

Oh heavens, SHIRLEY is thinking about putting in a Maple tree?
Tell her NO! Their roots are so shallow nothing with grow under a Maple. The suck up so much water to grow the soil beneath the tree is continually dry and the roots end up on top of the soil. They are aggressive growers and you'll have to chop it down in 20 years or less if the roots haven't already destroyed the foundation of your house. I don't know how close it will be to your house, Shirley, but I'd only put on on the back 40!

Usually people go into a nursery and ask for a tree that will grow big and tall quickly, so the nursery sells them a maple, but doesn't give any of the negatives about the tree.

hedgie said...

E-mail from Linda....they stopped in NC late last night and got about 4 hrs. sleep before hitting the road this AM. It will be late this evening when they get to FL.

Lori O. said...

Here's the latest on Norfolk Eaglet NX and re-release from the WCV moderated chat:

Ed Clark, WCV: Thanks Cathy.... We try to be honest and open in our answers, but it seems there is never a right way to address things. The reference to schedules was to state that regardless of what happens, NX will be with us for another ten days to two week, as which point, Dr. Dave will personally evaluate her. Dr. Miranda is great and knows a great deal...she handles most clinical duties... but Dr. Dave is the master~! Since he won't be back for ten days or so, we just want everyone to know that this will delay everything until then, regardless of what NX does. It could be longer, if she still acts like a baby, but that is the soonest we can plan a re-release.

Lori O. said...

Oh, God Bless Linda and family on their journey to Florida. Thanks for the email and keeping us posted LINDA. Thanks to LYNN for posting it!

LINDA, you're in my heart and thoughts, and prayers, of course. I hope you're holding up well and you'll be filled with His grace when you need it most. My love to you and your family.

Thanks for sharing Hedgie.

stronghunter said...

Hi Lori,

The tree is already there. It is a mature maple. I am not sure what kind of maple, though, but there are lots of kinds of maple trees. The mature tree is in the far back of my yard.

I know better than to purchase a tree just because it is fast-growing. We had two Bradford pears in the front yard and they both came down in storms. They grew very fast, but were brittle, and were the choice of the builder, not me.

Lordy, we almost got another trash can. We switched trash companies, and the old company is supposed to pick up the can. So far the old company has brought us a recycle can and the new company has brought us both a trash can and a recycle can. No cans have been taken away.

Today, the old company was out delivering new trash cans, but they have not picked up the old one yet. That would have given us three trash cans and two recycle cans.

I hollered at them.

stronghunter said...

Lynn, I am the one who mentioned your girls. Thanks for explaining. I was confused.

stronghunter said...

On maple trees--I know silver maples have shallow roots. I do not thinks this tree is a silver maple, though.

Have to get ready to take Luna north. Will be back later.

Lori O. said...

So relieved Shirley! Bradford Pear trees are so pretty, but I wouldn't have one of those either for the reasons you cited!
Glad the maple is way in the back!

Lolly said...

Good morning! Jack is still asleep. That pill he took yesterday must still be working. LOL

Laurel just called. They are on their way here, so I have an hour to get ready. Joseph had an orthodontist appointment at 8.

Shirley, we did not allow Michael to play football until 7th grade. Then he played through college. Laurel and Joey are doing the same with the boys. Then Joey will be a PIA to the coaches. Weight lifting ruined his back. Both boys are headed to at least 6'6", so they will be prime candidates, but sure wish they weren't. Joseph loves basketball now and Jacob baseball.

Lolly said...

Michael played football at Trinity Univ in San Antonio. His last game we went to he suffered a concussion. Doctor at the hospital told him he should not play professional. We got a laugh at that as there was no way he could play pro. He was not big enough or good enough and had no plans to do so.

Time for me to leave and get ready for the tornado to hit. (Laurel and boys) Going school clothes shopping. They are spending the night so I will not be on much today, but if Jack gets the results, I will certainly get on and share. Appreciate your prayers!

The boys take over the computers when they are here. LOL I should share a picture of Jacob sitting here in my chair with the laptop. Cute!

Later Gators! Have a good day!

Judie said...

Good mid-morning to all.

Feeling very sleepy for Shirley. Sure hope she's been able to catch up a bit this morning. Tulip Poplars are pretty but also fragile like Bradford Pear. How about Crepe Myrtle? Pretty in summer.

Thank you, Lori for mentioning National Night Out. Lots of really good food. One nice thing about our community, never seen store-bought food at a pot luck.

Hope Luna's eye appointment is routine and not because of additional problems.

Andy, sorry about the transcription mess. Maybe that's a sign you need to establish some ground rules for what is required BEFORE you do the work. Hope Emma is feeling better.

Lolly, glad Jack is getting some extra rest. May the grumpiness be gone.

Continued safe travel for Linda and Dennis.

Off to do boring tasks inside so won't be using sun screen today. BBL

GOOD MORNING...
No sightings for a while of Belle and Beau. I guess it is just too darn hot...they may have moved farther north:) It will be very interesting to see what this pair does, come December...looking forward to a productive, new season...oh, the joy of having 3 chicklets!
The canopy of leaves will be gone by November and, if left alone, will provide shelter from the sun for our babies when it gets hot again...but, then again, we may not be able to see them. It will be interesting to see what NCTC does about the leaves, if anything.

hedgie said...

Charlie and the girls plus a little friend (ha--little meaning in size; she's Jenn's age!) are here and cleaning up. But....Charlie can't get his leaf blower started. ARGH!

Costume Lady said...

Glad Paula's foot isn't incapacitating her...plenty of rest for it, Paula~

JOCK STRAPS? Don't know much about protecting the family jewels...having a part in raising 3 girls, I just know about bras and bikinis and nail polish:)
Dustin, also, was fitted with his football gear, over the weekend. I guess Karla has learned more than she ever wanted to know about body parts protection:) Dustin had his first practice, yesterday...from 8am til 3pm...too hot and I am so fearful of his well being. I guess his heart problem from his Lymes disease has gone away, because he passed his physical.
I haven't heard anything about his day, so, I guess it wasn't so bad.

hedgie said...

Lolly, I have the school clothes shopping ordeal coming up in another week. I think I may just give Carolyn my card and let them go without me! Kids are getting harder and harder to buy for---too finicky now!!

Shirley, SO glad I've never had to deal with boys!! Armor cups and jock straps---oh my!!!

Girls are SO much easier! And I was able to thrill them--or at least Carolyn since I haven't heard back from Christie--to share the wonderful news that their oh-so-expensive out-of-pocket costs for their 5 yrs. contraceptive inplant IS covered 100% by the new ruling!

Judie said...

Hello, Jim. How's things going out your way?

Hello to Jo, also. Have a fun day. Any special plans? Lunch?

Wanda, I'm certain Dustin will be just fine. Passing the physical is a big step and he should know if he starts to feel any negative effects of practice. I do, however, feel too much physical exertion in extreme heat is unnecessary for young people.

Lynn, hope the debris disappears in spite of the contrary leaf blower. I'm with you. Give them the card and wish them fun. Don't enjoy shopping and have found online is very successful.

Sounds as if Shirley might need some sun screen to go along with the jock strap.

Back to laundry. BBL

Hi ! Sneaking in again just in time to say Good Morning !

Enjoyed sleeping in, but see that I missed some nice chatter betwixt the Early Birds, LORI, JUDY, MARGY and THELMA. Sorry about the no-shows Belle and Truder, maybe later.

SHIRLEY, I share your concern about the debt ceiling debate and vote. Gabby undoubtedly surprised some of her Southern AZ constituents with her "yes" vote. She said the process had sickened her and she felt it time to rise above partisanship and get the job done, or at least started. What a great lady and this is proof that she will be able to return to full service someday soon.

LYNN, thanks for the link to Billy's obituaray and guest book. Praying for Linda and Dennis as they complete the journey. Glad Charlie and the girls showed up and hope he gets that leaf blower going !

PAULA, happy to hear you're mobile ! Keep that leg elevated as much as possible.

Re: Ed's comments about NZ. It would seem all eagles are not born with equal intelligence. He says her release will hinge in part on her maturity, and won't occur until she no longer "acts like a baby". Aw, I love the "little" girl myself !

JudyEddy said...

Well better get back to work doing good this week haven't punched in late for lunch yet Atleasst I come back HaHa sometime that is the hardest is to go back BBL HAGD again

Lori O. said...

Hi JUDY, The release and Kay explain it well. They determined from her (NX) behavior after the release that she hadn't fully developed the skills she would need to survive in the wild...so he called it acting like a baby. Literally she was "cheaping" like a much younger eaglet when they found her and she did not try to fly away from people, thus behaving more like a younger eaglet instead of one fledging with good insticts and confidence. I hope that makes sense.

Lori O. said...

Hellllooooo KAY! ((BIG HUG))
I've missed you, but I know you crave to be a night owl again. Maybe you can stay up really late once in a while and we can chat at 1:30! LOL

Thought, prayers, everything just thinking about Linda today. What a difficult time.
Thanks you LYNN for passing on the links for Billy's information.

Lori O. said...

KAY, echo your Gabby Giffords comment! What a picture of strength and class she is! Love that her husband/astronaut is taking good care of her.

hedgie said...

Can understand that, JudyE!

The eagle to be released at Mason Neck (where Shirley and Judie met for an earlier release!!) was found at Ft. Washington, MD--near where Loretta lives. Mason Neck is still near the Potomac....just along the Virginia side.
I, too, laughed at Ed's calling NZ a baby! A spoiled rotten brat may be part of that assessment!! But she IS missing that feather, so......will give her the benefit of the doubt that it's a physical inhibition and not a maturity one!

hedgie said...

Kids are done and gone. Charlie used my electric blower---said ground not wet and with ground-fault outlets, no big deal if it were.

Paula, glad that your foot is doing better. Be careful not to re-injure and try to stay off of it as much as possible.

A quick good morning/good afternoon to you all. Running a bit late today, but "its all good" like they say.

JUDYE The Visitor was not a scary movie, someone learning how to drum and a love story.

Thoughts with LINDA and her travels.

LYNN maybe they will return next weekend since they have a day job and maybe they just assumed that they already established a pattern. I, like you, would have prefered that they cfommunicate better than they did. I do not think they abandoned the project, just poor communicators.

PAULA so glad your foot is better and that you were able to go to work, that means you are mobile...

Jo, keep your feet up as long as you can in case you need to capture meatballs that start coming over the mountain.

Glad the ankle is functional, Paula. Take things slowly, please.

Have caught up on comments after a nice nap.

Thinking and praying for Linda as they make the final part of the drive.

JudyE since I went to Colorado

really like that place.

Lynne2 I am glad the car had
that warranty. It does sound
like they are trying to fix it.

Wanda we got the storm that Lynn
got. The trees were bending over.
It poured down here.

So glad Bill's daughter and kids
didn't get hit by the falling glass.
Hope Bill can fix that for her.

Yes my Mother said she was watching the news and Gabby Gifford did voted yes on
the Debt Reduction bill. The lady is really a wonderful lady. Her
husband is right by her side.

Mema Jo I do remember the horse on the bark of the tree. Although I can't find the bobblehead doggie they are talking about.

Glad that Jack's MRI is over. Now praying for the crown work. Prayers for results of the MRI. Let us know as soon as you find out something Lolly.

Andy to me that about the font is the doctors fault. Hoping Emma checks out ok.

Lynn I am surprised you haven't heard from Shannon or Christie yet???????

Judie, you didn't give the officer any meatballs? Have a good time tonight.

Lynn, is there a problem with your electic since the storm? Hope you hear from your daughter & SIL soon.
I would have been terrified to be in Castro country.

Lori, sorry I miss the morning crew and hope you're getting some much needed rest.

PA Nana said...

SHirley, you were (maybe) lucky to have girls. Had 3 boys, two in sports, and 1 girl in sports. Whew, sure glad those days are over. I found the boys much easier to raise. Not sure why that is, but I've heard the same from other parents/grandparents.

Prayers for Linda & Dennis in their travel and prayers for Linda to be strong for her family.

JudyE, October is best month of the year to me. Maybe that's why I got married in October.

Margy, Tbird and Buddy, sorry I missed you this morning. ((hugs))

Kay, if you become a nightowl, you just may see me there more often than morning.

Paula, glad your foot/ankle is better today and agree with Lynn. Don't reinjure. Walk gingerly.

Lolly, awaiting the good news about Jack's MRI. Have fun with Laurel and the "boys."

Think I remembered everyone. I'm testing my memory today. It often leaves me stranded.

If I forgot anyone, my apology. You know I love you all.

Hi, Everyone,
Dropping in to let you know that Emma is trying to make a liar of me. The vet needs a FRESH sample of her poop to test for whatever's bothering her. Took her out to go just now, and this is the first time in 2 weeks that she has NOT had sloppy poop! She still had to be coaxed to eat this morning, and she just has a sad look in her eyes, like she doesn't feel good, though. Our vet appt. is at 3:40 pm Pacific time. Right now, she's trying to coax me to play tug-of-war with her, so she can't feel too bad. I think it was Lori who mentioned feeding her chicken and rice. Her regular food is Blue Buffalo kibble for puppies--chicken and brown rice! Will definitely keep you posted about her. Maybe the heat has something to do with it--it's 89 degrees out, and about 85 in our kitchen right now. Still a bit humid, but not as bad as yesterday was.

Paula, I'm glad you're able to get around well enough to go to work. Hope the improvement continues!

Judie, that's nice of you to invite the officer in for a drink of water and a potty break. Lots of times I think people forget that police officers are human beings, too!

Have really been enjoying listening to WASH-FM! I like their mix of soft rock music.

Well, not really caught up completely on here, but Emma wants her "Mom" to play. How can I say no? Will check back in later. :o]

LYNN Many Canacians travel to Cuba on holidays. They find the Cubans friendly and their country provides an affordable holiday. I know that the US does not permit its citizens to travel to Cuba and this is probably why you worried.I am sure they would have been concerned too but I think it probably was not as a dangerous situation as worry makes it be, after all the plane was able to land safely and they were able to airlift them out of there without any mishaps...

Hoda said...

hat would be Canadians...who are the Canacians I wonder LOL!!!

Judie said...

Hmmm...I wonder if Cubans threat Canacians differently than they treat Canadians? Hi Hoda!

Andy, glad Emma seems to be feeling better. Please keep us posted as we really like her.

No, no meatballs for the lady officer. Was afraid I might not have enough left over to roll some over the mountain to Jo. Not a corner lot but we offer a good "hiding" place where stop sign runners can't see the cruiser until "oh, crap!" People do forget officers need hydration and toilets. Female officers have to be a lot more careful about unbuckling the gun belt. Males, not so much a problem.

Shirley, how about Leland Cypress tree(s). Lovely all year and especially when it snows.

Okay, need to get ready to take my meatballs to the party. BBL

Lynne2 said...

Hi all!

Lynn, thanks for post the link to Bill's obit and guestbook.

Emma must be on the way to the vet, and I pray she is just not dealing with the heat too well and it's not anything more serious!

Crepe Myrtle Shirley! Or...if you want the evergreen look, rather than Leeland Cypress, get a Green Giant Aborvitae. Very similar in appearance. It's hardy, fast growing, very disease resistant. They get to be pretty tall, about 50 feet, but you can keep them trimmed. 10 foot or more width when mature....here:

Hoda said...

I do not know how the Cubans treat the Canacians JUDIE. I know that the Canacians are very healty people because they come from Planet Echanacia, and we all know the qualities of this plant to cure colds and such...So at least they will not sneeze on them causing an International Crisis!!! LOL !!! If you are rolling meat balls to JO don't forget your neighbour up north would like some too, maybe it is already too late as there won't be any left over from this evening's gathering...Bon Appétit.

from under a juniper bush. I even took pictures to celebrate that they're gone! He also sprayed
the flowers around the deck
and looked elsewhere for them and found nothing.

I was showing him where I was standing when I first was stung last week and he quickly said he saw it. Next thing I know he's in his bee suit and bringing it out.

Highly recommend this guy. The termite/pest control people have been out twice to get the nest and nothing!

YAY! Somebody put on the Pointer Sisters "I'm So Excited!"

Hello Lynne, I hope the car problems are soon over.

Lynne2 said...

hi Lori! The Saturn is all fixed and the Mazda's parts will hopefully be in tomorrow. I am off and hope to be able to take it down for what will hopefully be the last time! Not too encouraged by the fact that Steve tried to call them today and got no answer....

So glad you YJ nest is GONE!

Hoda said...

This morning I read on the blog about "NX acting like a baby" and the comment was made as to what that would be. On the blog from the WCV site, they talked about her calls are that of a less mature eagle and that is what was meant. She does not call like her age group would require.

Lori O. said...

Hoping that JUDIE is having a great National Night Out neighborhood party and that even Frank is enjoying the meatballs! If you send them over the hill to JO's, would you mind detouring a few this way? Not a big meat eater, but I love meatballs!

PAULA, I know I've got the Pointer Sisters blaring for my YJ celebration, but no dancing for you! I hope the ankle is feeling better. Listen to Dr. HEDGIE!

DI, I've missed you in the morning. How did the three cats make out at the vet? My three babies are so adorable. Boys will be getting "tutored" (neutered) next week. Little girl, Andy, is more skiddish and no rush with her.

ANDY, what's the latest on EMMA from your 3:40 appt? It should be any minute now. Hope it's just the heat. My last bully, Maffie, used to get stomach bugs like giardia (sp?) and something else. A poo sample will show that.

Lori O. said...

LINDA,
Thinking about you

a long drive like that and the shock of all you've been through lately.

Prayers continue for you and your family.

I am up and ready to catch those rolling
meatballs - I am fearful that the crowd
of neighbors that heard the radio

meatballs will be gone! That's ok -
it's for a good cause.

We have finished dinner and it's feels
good outside.

Lori O. said...

Hey HODA,

I was reading the WCV blog about NX, too. Pretty fascinating. So glad she's returned to flight school if it's not time for her to be out yet.

May we send some humidity your way today? Storms here tomorrow should give a break in the heat and maybe bring the eagles back to the nest? We can hope, right?

Just got home this was on facebook Not forsure if anyone brought it over being I just got home

.Wildlife Center of Virginia
The Wildlife Center admitted another Bald Eagle yesterday -- the 23rd Bald Eagle admitted this year. This bird is from Brunswick County and had a fishing line and hook entangled around one of its feet -- so that it couldn't even open its right foot. Check out the link for the full story and photos.

I got my driver license today When I got there I could see that the lady was one that could take a joke and I said I had been there before and got an extension and now I was ready for the stool sample she busted out laughing and said that will probably be the next step LOL
I ask her how some people can go on line and renew no prob like my daughter and she said that eventually everyone will have to provide all the info like I did that it is sort of a lottery that sends out the card like I got in the mail telling me to come in to get it so now I feel better One good thing with going down now in the computer they ask for a er contact phone in case I am unable to talk in an accident I think that is pretty cool
When I walked in I was given a # didn't even get a chance to walk to the sitting area and was called right away in and out in no time
This is a newer office that is so efficient I loved it and my picture turned out smile and all and I was told to smile
Not so many comments to read to day what happen???? LOL Ok I am going to run to Kmart to see if I can find some new shirts I went to Target and only found one darn it BBL

LOLLY-----any word yet on the MRI????

wvgal_dana said...

I'm only a little confused here Lynne2.
I thought you traded the Saturn in for the Mazda. Is that correct???'
So did they pay to have the Saturn
fixed or did you and Steve? When
the parts come for the Mazda whose
car is that and who is paying for
it to be fixed?

Lori so glad that man found and got
rid of the yellow jacket nest!!!!

Hoda you are a hoot LOL -
your Canacians story.

Thanks Hoda for information on NX.

JudyE thanks for putting the EAGLE
link up. It looks like with some
rest and food the eagle should
be able to be released at some
point.

Hi,

Delivered Hunter to football practice and waited there until Kathryn arrived. Came back and scanned over as many posts as I could. Now the dogs are barking to be let back in.

We took Luna for a routine eye exam.

I will BBL.

Hoda said...

LYNN We are known as The Snow Birds!!! Many Canadians head to destinations south once it starts getting really cold here...NC is one of the favourite places, so is Nevada and areas around the southern part of California...for a while there were some restrictions on Cuba but not any more, has not been for decades now...I wrote because I wanted you to not worry about your daughter and hubby.

Lynne2 said...

Dana, we sold Steve's truck to downgrade and bought the Mazda, and then had the Saturn (our other car) fix ups done. The truck had become to expensive for us to maintain and gas mileage was pretty low.

Hoda said...

LORI I am not sure about the humididty gift you are offering...LOL!!!Don't tell anyone but we are supposed to have a whole week of sunshine and no clouds and no rain...SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Don't tell anyone though!!!! If you send humidity that will mean there could be chances it would rain and I think sometimes it rains so much here I start checking for mold!!!

LOL, doggie is listening to command to sit still, Margy!

Speaking of dogs, who started the runny poop thing? Nick has it now...he went in the basement last night, but I attributed that to my falling asleep early and him not going out for a last "out". So now there is more this evening!

Boy, foot feels much better without that darn wrap on it! Will ice tonight just to be sure...

I see Canadian plates on I-81 ALL the time---doesn't seem to matter what time of year it is!! And a lot of them have big RV's!
Sure I've told you that some some of my Scottish ancestor first settled in Canada before moving to Iowa.

Kay said...

I think you're all hallucinating ! I can't see a man, a Lincoln, a dog, a anything in the nest. :(

LYNN, too bad the painters can't communicate. They must not be in any hurry for their $ !

LORI, so glad the B guy got rid of the YJ nest ! Hated to think of you running into them again.

JUDY, thanks for another great story of an eagle rescue. They sure do face a lot of man made hazards out there in the wild. Looks like he/she is about the same age as Truder.

HODA, LOL those Canacians ! They've slipped right in under the radar.

An ex-sil loves all things Latin and has vacationed all over South and Central America. He has been to Cuba numerous times over the last 15years or so. He goes from MI to Toronto and on to Cuba. Apparently as long as you arrive on an Air Canada flight you're in like Flynn.

hedgie said...

Hmmm...must really be going around: Liesl has had a lot of very soft poos today, too. Maybe it IS the heat.
She hasn't been too playful, but I attributed that to the fact that she was so excited seeing the girls this morning and they loved all over her and played with her a good bit.

JudyEddy said...

KAY I didn't see him at first until I a day or so ago He is looking down it is a profile of him his eyes is dark and looks like he has a beard he is looking at the bottom of the frame

JudyEddy said...

the colors are now gone on the nest that is a bad sign of no visit not even a camera shake

Kay said...

An Adonis, a gingerbread man ? Are you all trying to drive me nuts ? Too late, I'm already there !

LOLLY many not be in touch til' late, or tomorrow. I think it was uncertain whether or not the results of Monday's MRI would be in today or tomorrow. Today he was having dental work, a crown, I believe. She's been shopping with Laurel and the boys today and figured she'd have to share her puter with at least one of the "J"'s all evening.

There goes the night light at the nest.

Of course, still thinking and praying for LINDA.

At the beginning of her treatment, Luna was on four kinds of eye drops and two kinds of pills. She is now on just one kind of eye drop, and it is not the expensive ones.

At one time, the emergency drops she was on cost about $90 for an ounce or two. They are now generic and something like $19 for the same amount.

MARGY, thanks for the encouragement on finding "the man". I've always been good at finding animals, people, objects in clouds. Can also find such things in the tile walls and flooring here in the bath and kitchen. So, it's frustrating not to be able to see what you're all talking about !

SOLD OUT! COME BACK NEXT YEAR!

Hi everyone. I think someone, Lynn?, said meatballs probably already gone at 7:02pm. Well, they were all gone by then. Sorry there are none to lob over to Frederick, Middletown, Hedgesville or up to the Canacians.

It was a terrific turn out ~160 people. Police helicopter buzzed us twice, police chief, lots of officers, two sheriffs, and several politicians. Also had lots of humidity. Oh, and no competing radio station, tee hee.

magpie said...

Well
I couldn't figure out the gingerbread man either myself Kay!
I picked out the wrong doggy bobblehead at first lat night
maybe there were two!
The bearded man looks like a prophet or apostle in a way also...

But you ain't got nuthin' to be sorry about, Honey

Just keep putting those yellow flowers on here !

magpie said...

BRAVO
CLAP CLAP CLAP JUDIE AND FRANK
AND ALL THE PARTICIPANTS

Sounds really really neat, Judie

hedgie said...

Kay, it's one of those things that you really do have to figure out yourself! I have been driven nearly nuts trying to see other people's interpretations of designs in my two log homes.....and have probably done turnabout on others, too!! It's your OWN imagination, not someone else's! Don't mind us...just take a peek now and then when the leaves are blowing, and I bet you will make the man out for yurself...just as I did!!

Kay said...

MARGY, what a great grandparent you are ! Memory pillow for James the Wise, how nice. I'd buy one or two if I thought there was any hope for my memory problems ! ;o)

JUDY, your vacation plans sound marvy ! Glad you found your shirts and such bargains at Kmart. I haven't been in one of their stores since leaving AZ. Target is just a stones throw away and it's where I head for that kind of shopping.

JUDIE, we're all waiting with bated, or is it baited, breath to hear about the evening. Need to know how the meatballs went over this year !

SHIRLEY, yikes that was a hefty price for eye drops. My NJ granddog, a Shepadoodle, has to have eyedrops daily, wonder if his cost that much !

Kay said...

JUDIE, ask and ye shall receive ! We were posting about the same time. So happy to hear the evening was a huge success and that the meatballs were a big hit ! You've both worked so hard on that and I know you're feeling relieved and well satisfied now !

Judie said...

Andy, I do hope Emma will be okay. Thoughts are with you.

Paula, maybe Nick is having sympathy poop for Emma. I hope he gets better quickly.

Margy, let me know if the memory pillow really works. I could use some memory help, also.

JudyE, glad you had a successful shopping trip. Hope you get some Swedish meatballs.

Kay, do not fear. I cannot see anything in the nest either. I just assume the others are off their meds and hallucinating.

Oh good grief. Now the Canacians have the ability to disguise themselves as smow birds! Those Canacians are really making me nervous.

Shirley, glad that Luna's exam was routine and the meds are down to one and relatively inexpensive.

paula eagleholic said...

Judie, sounds like the shebang was a hit!

Kay, it took me a long while to find that man, LOL. He just appeared!

Hope Lolly is having a fun day with Laurel and the boys.

Kay said...

MARGY and LYNN, okay, I'll take your word for it. I'm turning the cam off for tonight, but on the morrow I will continue to search for the Man.

Judie said...

Well, it is time for me to stop resisting the sandperson. Must rise early to go get my "do" did. Then a quick trip to school.

The night light is on for anyone moving around in the dark or coming in from the West Coast and for the Canacians. Restful sleep for all.

Very glad Lori's YJ have been cleared out. Lynn, hope yours are also. Please be careful you two.

Well I saw the adult eagle off the shore when we were doing our warm up exercises and was she putting on a performance, Large wing span 12 foot from tip to tip is what I thought.Oh circled and came looking for fish went up high and tried again...then flew to a distance...neddles to say I was not too focused on the exercises and we all laughed about it.

It was a good paddle, warm and with a bit of a breeze to make it pleasant.

I now have to catch up to the blog...and prepare a salad for my supper.I am having a cold lime drink with ice...cooling...

Just stopping by to say hello. Am thinking of Linda on her long drive. Paula, I hope you take care of your ankle. I know it is hard when you have so much to do. Lynn, i hope they come back and finish your home soon. And Jack, I am hoping for only good results from your MRI. For all the injured and rescued birds, may they heal and be released quickly. For all others that I have missed, believe me when I say that I think of you guys oftern and lurk in the backgrounf trying to keep up! Please stay as cool as possible.

stronghunter said...

I think I need to look at the nest and see if I can still see that man myself.

Have been in and out of the blog as much as possible. I did take a couple of naps today. I hope that does not mean that I can't sleep tonight.

Lolly, I remember what you said about Michael and football. We did not really think we wanted Hunter to play football at such a young age, either. But he wanted to.

Funny thing is that he was inspired by his Uncle Rus who never played a game of football in his life. Rus enjoys professional football and he passed the interest on to Hunter.

Hunter has the same coach for baseball and football, and he seems to be really good with the boys.

Having an athlete in the family is a new experience for us. My children were more interested in drama. They played soccer a little while and we did a little bit with the swim team.

Tom (Hunter's Dad) played the clarinet in the marching band, though he is a big, strong guy. His father would not allow him to play sports because his older brother got hurt wrestling.

Judie, so glad that your event was a success. But I was hoping to see some meatballs rolling up the highway.

Luna's eye doctor is impressive. She has worked at the White House . . . I think maybe she took care of a Bush dog, maybe.

stronghunter said...

I see that we are about to split again.

Ah Hoda, another wonderful dragon boat outing. Happy you got to see the eagle !

Suzan, we miss you and hope you can find the time to stay and chat! How are you feeling today?

stronghunter said...

My parents would be very happy to see Hunter enjoying sports. However, their game was basketball, and Hunter did not enjoy his basketball experience particularly.

Maybe I will get one of those basketball goals. I kind of like shooting baskets myself. But, no, I was not an athlete.

stronghunter said...

Hi, Suzan. Tell us about yourself. How are you doing? We have missed you.
