Oh, Glo---right there with you! I have a riding mower.....if I can't get help, I put the bags of salt or corn or whatever on top of mower and drive it where it needs to go. Even when my wheelbarrow DIDN'T have a flat, I almost always ended up dumping it over. Duh! Last summer I bought a four-wheeled dump cart from Lowe's ($89) and I can even tow it with the mower. Has come in very handy!! I can't lift those heavy bags.....I drag the salt bags into the basement. Fill the corn feeder with a big bucket, if I have to!

Where are you Margie?

magpie said...

wow just slipped that SPLIT notice in...

last year shortly after Paula had Gianni's picture as her avatar, I was on the phone with NormaByrd...and she was able to bring her blog up and see that...that is the last time that I know she was looking
Glad she got to "see" Gianni."

Paula, one of my grand-nieces birthday was yesterday (April 11) and her mother's is April 17. How about that!

hedgie said...

When I had my Envoy, it had an air compressor built into the back....so I could air up that stubborn tire........but haven't had that in any other vehicle I've owned!

magpie said...

I was typing and editing out typos Jo ☺
takes me awhile, old fingers, old eyeballs !

magpie said...

when I grow up I hope to own a wheelbarrow and have some land to use it on !
Great toy for kids too ! As in, being pushed around in it..

sounds good Glo....
but be careful...find yourself some help if possible

Lynn, I am 18 months behind on an eye exam, think it might be time
when I make time to make time for it

magpie said...

got some hard copies of some pictures from the Rumsey Dinner, going to get ready to send them to Susan and Grey as promised....
after I check out Paula's new pictures of grandchildren

be back in a little while.
xoxox

hedgie said...

I think so, too, Jo, if the previews are any indication!!! Really like that show.......but hate being reminded of how dirty politics is!

JudyE.....have that video downloaded, have gotten the song off iTunes....just love it!!!!

Lolly said...

Paula, pictures of the three grandkids are great! Gianni is growing way too fast! She is looking like a little girl not a little baby!

Red said...

I'm sorry to say the crockpot corned beef was not so good. I used a new recipe off the internet and for those who copied it, I would say "trash it". To me the corned beef thats boiled in a pot with the spices that comes with it is better. Even the veggies are better in a normal pot. I won't try that one again. lol

magpie said...

Love your avatar, Red !

sorry to read you are disappointed in the results, what did Mrs. Red think about it ??

hedgie said...

Yep...a little shocked....boo! Sure wanted to see more of the "homie". :(

JudyEddy said...

God Bless this nest and all whom watch it See ya tomorrow

Red said...

Goodnight everyone!

Red said...

Diane didn't like the crockpot version either. Thats the first thing I have ever cooked in the crockpot that I didn't think was great. Oh well. Win some and lose some.

stronghunter said...

Hello,

Thanks for all of the hugs today. I just have a situation I have to decide how to handle. I have gone from being shocked and hurt to being angry. That is probably a good thing. I think someone is being conned at my expense.

Some days are not much fun.

stronghunter said...

Even George is being snippy at me right now. I told him to go away and come back in a better mood.

stronghunter said...

I skimmed over the comments. I see Red has trashed a recipe.

Judie has been on a good bit today. I hope her exams go well.

Gianni is a year old. Happy birthday Gianni!

Lynn has a riding mower, and likes it. I want one.

Margy wants a wheelbarrow. I know what Lynn means. They can be hard to drive. Keep that in mind, Margy. I think I would prever the little trailer for the riding mower. (Okay, and someone besides me to ride it and pull the little trailer.)

magpie said...

Well Shirley....will add what you just said to my prayer list...
and just remember and I hope it helps:

You are right here ♥ in the middle of my heart
and I hope George listens to what you told him and complies.

Time sure flies when you're watching interesting history!! Just saw the Boothe conspiracy--kind of a preview of the new movie. Now they have Geo. Wash. & all the things you thought you knew that aren't necessarily true!
DanaMo, the chicks are so cute!!

Will probably konk out soon, so to all Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>

Hunter has a field trip to Yorktown tomorrow. Kathryn just realized that he has to be delivered to school by 7:45 and picked up at 4:00.

That would have meant getting to work late and leaving work early for Kathryn (or for me). Fortunately, we have a good friend and former neighbor who teaches at Hunter's school.

She is going to take him in and bring him home. Thank you Heidi!! Kathryn has to keep reminding Hunter that he cannot call her by her first name at school. Even "Miss Heidi" confuses her little first-grade students.

magpie said...

Oh Yorktown, that should be interesting, remind him to take some souvenir money !
and Yay for "Miss Heidi"

James has an interest in going to Jamestown ! LOL

magpie said...

speaking of history
today is te 50th anniversary of the first manned space flight.
Google has a neat pic on its page

Hi Loretta....!

stronghunter said...

Thanks for the prayers, Margy. I do appreciate them.

I spent part of the evening reviewing a graduate school application for Rebecca. She has been working hard. I hope she gets what she wants.

It helps to occupy my mind with other things right now.

stronghunter said...

You know, I think it must be Jamestown Hunter is going to. That makes more sense. I know we told him that he has been there before, and he doesn't remember it.

I lived in Newport News and Williamsburg, so it is (or was) familiar territory.

Judie said...

Lolly, hope you feel better by tomorrow.

Dana, have you looked at SAS walking shoes? A bit expensive but I find them to be good support and comfortable.

Glo, not sure but what you and Dex need a handy-person gardner type. Good luck with the mowing and mulch.

Lynn, forgot about your eyeglasses. So glad you see an improvement.

Red, so nice of you to let us know the recipe wasn't the best. It happens. Um, maybe you could send it to Hans.

Hi Lowreeda. Whole section in the Wash. Post today on the "late unpleasantness." Hope to get it read tomorrow.

Margy, speaking of a wheel barrow to pull kids, maybe you could take the upstairs noise maker for a ride. A long, long ride.

Shirley, really sorry you are having an unhappy experience. Wishing it all works out to your advantage♥

Okay, about to do a face plant and I hear the sandperson sneaking down the hallway. Night light is about to come on for those headed back the hallway, down to the tub, up the stairs, to the recliner, or just stumbling around in the dark.

Pleasant dreams.

stronghunter said...

"Miss Heidi" grew up next door to us. Kathryn used to babysit her when she was little. She has 4 younger siblings, and Kathryn watched them all. Sometimes, she called me to come over and help. I seem to recall three in diapers at the same time.

Their mom was surprised that Kathryn had to ask for help since she helped me raise twins. But that was only two in diapers. Three in diapers and two others running around is a bit more.

stronghunter said...

Let's say that retirement is looking better every day.

stronghunter said...

Not sure what happened with Lynn and the eyeglasses.

Lolly said...

Just had a giggle! Judie, I loved it. Send Red's recipe to Hans. You are sharp!

stronghunter said...

Hans would probably like it.

Judie said...

Okay, doing a Margy.

Paula, finally a chance to look at the pictures. Just wonderful. Love the birthday signs. The house looks terrific, the beach inviting, the birds extraordinary. Thanks for sharing.

stronghunter said...

History--Kathryn had to stop Hunter from reading his history book to do his homework and chores. He is reading ahead because he is interested in WWII.

magpie said...

were those the days with diaper pins and rubber pants??

Okay
Shirley
hope the sleep is sweet and the morrow brings some insight and relief

and Good Night Judie, always a pleasure to read your posts !

stronghunter said...

Oh, Paula, how sweet! both the grandchildren and the sigh. And how nice that you got pictures of all of those signs, not to mention the grandkids.

Mema Jo said...

TV Shows are finished - Now I can't wait until next Tues!

Need to read back

stronghunter said...

Nah, Margy. Disposable diapers. Not quite as nice as the ones they have now, though.

I used cloth diapers most of the time for my two oldest kids (1970s). But I did use disposables for the twins (1980s). Heidi is just a tad younger than the twins, and she was the eldest. Those 5 children were very close together.

stronghunter said...

Gonna head upstairs. I will see you tomorrow.

hedgie said...

Margy, it is also the anniversary of the first shuttle mission, of FDR's stroke/death, and, of course, the shot heard round the world: the bombardment of Ft. Sumter!

stronghunter said...

Golly, Lynn. You are full of historical data tonight. I did not know all of that.

hedgie said...

Shirley, getting angry is GOOD. But let us know if you need the Eagle Cane Brigade to come take care of someone for you. Judie knows where to hide the body.
George---BEHAVE! How dare anyone cause you this much angst????

magpie said...

big change in the Stork Dy-Dee services when those disposables came along

Better start checking out...will try to be on the alert for a nest visit before worktime in the morning

Hoping to see Wanda check in before too long...and others who might be late getting back on, hope all is well in all our Eagle Corners

Have our many prayer needs going through my mind...will take them to bed with me

Good Night Eagle Pals
God Bless This Nest, and
God Bless Us, Every One

lying out in front of the adult.
Their infrared light is fantastic.

Think I am just about ready to call it a very good day - rain and all.

paula eagleholic said...

Cloth diapers...I used them on John for awhile, when I was home at first, and then working part time. do NOT miss that diaper pail, LOL

Lolly said...

Too foggy to see the ferry this evening.

hedgie said...

Loretta, where did you see the preview? The Conspirator opens Friday....I just might go see it!

Love Jamestown and Yorktown...and Williamsburg, too. WV schools do not teach it the way VA schools did. My kids were neither interested or impressed. I was very disappointed in them, and their dad, too. I thought I was really going to impress them all. NOT!

magpie said...

I think it is a raven, Lolly

paula eagleholic said...

Red, sorry the recipe didn't work out, but you're right, win some, lose some. It sounded good.

I am going to fold the last load and go crash. I'm whooped.

Gnite and

Hugs to all ♥

magpie said...

yeah. and swishing the poo diapers out in the toilet bowl first
Bleeeaah!

hedgie said...

There was also a special section in the Hagerstown paper, Judie! Haven't read through it yet. I am a BIG Civil War buff. Love that phrase---"the late unpleasantness"....of course, that was mostly how Southern ladies referred to it! Talk about denial!

Lolly said...

Margy, it looks two toned. Ravens are all black, right?

hedgie said...

It's a hoodie, Lolly!!! Very pretty birds! They've been there a lot! And a few golden eagles, too. No osprey yet.

Lolly said...

Okay, those are the hooded crows.

Mema Jo said...

Margie - aren't there 'hoodies' at Finey.

paula eagleholic said...

Pulling a Margy...

Jo, I got your hiccups! Thanks and you're welcome!

Lolly said...

I know they have been talked about but I had never seen them. Remembered the name and googled it.

glo said...

My helpful Garden Superviser

hedgie said...

Except for when Christie was a newborn and way too small to get a cloth diaper pinned on her (too many folds/layers) and had to use preemie pampers, I used cloth. Pew---diaper pails and swishing in toilet----it WAS bad, wasn't it???!!

stronghunter said...

Hiccups--the remedy is a spoonful of sugar. Our pediatrician started recommending that after I told him about it.

hedgie said...

Jo, did your hiccups stop?????

hedgie said...

Cute pic, Glo!!!!

stronghunter said...

Good night again. BB tomorrow.

hedgie said...

The new osprey nest on the FinFerry site sure is in need of crib rails!!! Love seeing the river below.....wonder if it will show once the trees are in leaf.
Lighthouse cam is blue.....:(

Lolly said...

Yes, it sounds barbaric now...cloth diapers, but I did enjoy folding diapers. Crazy, huh? Was so satisfactory to have a big stack of clean folded diapers.

Mema Jo said...

Are they making you shake with about every 6 breaths you take, Paula.
Took me a while just sitting very
still and relaxing to get rid of them

Mema Jo said...

Okay - Folding of Cloth diapers and raising 5 before anyone even knew about a pamper - That is why my
fingertips are soooooooo smooth. It
makes it hard for me to turn pages and
lots of other things.

Mema Jo said...

I agree Lolly and the better diapers did have 3 seams (I think)that helped
you fold them correctly. My first
2 children had diapers dried on the
clothes line...smelled so fresh.

Mema Jo said...

Having a dryer later I can't say anything about hanging diapers on the
clotheslines except for the fresh
smell.

Enough of this reminiscing.......

hedgie said...

Jo, think mine only had two seams! Luckily, I had a dryer before I started doing diapers!!
How many finger sticks did you suffer??? Sure had my share with just two....but then I'm a klutz!

My first babysitting gig was 4 little boys under 4---I was 12. 3 were in diapers. Remember calling my mom to come help on occasion, too, Shirley!!!

magpie said...

whoops by the time I checked Fin-Ferry it was an allblack bird, I know the hoodies, love them !
But maybe, you know, the eyeballs...did not see what you were seeing.

hedgie said...

Bathtime for me, dear friends.

Oh, Red...sorry you were disappointed in your meal. Those things happen sometimes! Faulty recipe, NOT a bad chef!

Sleep tight everyone. Prayers going up for all our many needs.
See you tomorrow.

Mema Jo said...

I am going down the hallway to the pillows..........

Good Night my friends
Prayers for so so many
Hugs for all ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Lolly said...

Okay, Margy...get those eyes checked. Jack even looked at it before I googled it. It definitely was the Hooded Crow or Hoodie.

Lolly said...

Never did like the diapers with the seams, the prefold diapers. I used the big ones that had to be folded.

Okay, now I am heading to the shower and then read for a while.

Night all! Sweet dreams!

magpie said...

well maybe the raven snuck in on a refresh, but I sure believe you and Jack, Lolly...
I have lots of hoodie pics in my collection and a couple on my blog Magpie's Roost I think...was fairly recent
Great pic of Dex in the wheelbarrow, Glo... I was wondering if he would like riding in it!
Sure looks like he enjoys sitting in it!
I'm working on about 6 different things when I really need to go to bed
Yes, Hiccups - the Sugar, spoonful, usually does it immediately...if not one, then another spoonful

Good Night again, everyone

Alex: SECURITY!!!!!!

Lynne2 said...

Good evening all!

Sorry, I was reading back and this whole scenario just popped in my head.....

Lynne2 said...

I changed my picture to Dinky....remember him, the littlest Wood Frog from the egg mass last year. The one who took so long to finally become a frog, and we donated him to Irvine.

Tracey emailed me a earlier to tell me that Dinky died overnight last night :(

She hasn't been to work since last Thursday due to a death in the family, but he was perfectly fine then. Alert, responsive, eating and having BMs. The volunteer who worked today called her and told her.

Costume Lady said...

Lynne, I just popped in to say good night and what do I see?...You, playing Jeopardy...are you at home or are you still in jail?

Lynne2 said...

Wanda, I am saying 10 Hail Mary's and 5 Our Fathers for my irreverence to the true meaning of the phrase. Lynn's probably gonna throw something at me when she gets back!

Costume Lady said...

Poor Dinky...yes, I do remember him. Did he have any little Dinkys before he died?:) WHAT...no HP for Dinky? Animal cruelity!!
Wait til Lynn hears about this!

Lynne2 said...

no HP for Dinky. He wasn't old enough yet anyway. I guess he was just about a year if you count the hatch from tadpole.

Just checked out the Trail Cam!

Costume Lady said...

I'd like to have one of those green frogs with red eyes for my aquarium...or is that, a red frog with green eyes?

Costume Lady said...

I get so excited when I bring in the card from the Trail Cam, hoping to see a coyote or even a bear...but not yet. Hoping to see some babies soon:)

Lynne2 said...

Maybe you get some fox kits coming soon! OOOOOOO or baby skunks! Bet they are cute!

Lynne2 said...

I'm hoping to see a bear this weekend..we are heading to my MIL's and will be stopping in Savage Forest on the way!

Judie said...

Could not sleep. Checked the web cams.

I so wish I were not the first to post this: current update on the bears tells us that Jason died Tuesday afternoon. Autopsy today. Heartbreaking news.

stronghunter said...

Hello, Judie,

Here's hoping you are sleeping soundly now.

I'm not exactly sleeping. I've decided to go in to work late this morning. I do not have a class until 9:30.

Sad news about Jason the Bear.

stronghunter said...

I had said earlier that I was trying to help Rebecca with her graduate school entrance essay. I decided to look online for advice to send her.

Well, I should have known. There are entrance essays for sale. Depressing. I decided my advice is as good as anything I saw on there, and it is free.

However Rebecca sent me a very pretty birdbath in the mail. Now, it is a small glass birdbath. The box says it glows in the dark. I am going to have to check this out. I am mystified as why one would want a birdbath to glow in the dark.

stronghunter said...

Glow in the Dark Birdbath

Well, here it is.

You can also purchase Glow-in-the-Dark bird feeders. Very interesting!!

stronghunter said...

I am now going to venture back upstairs. Maybe I can get a tad bit of sleep. Maybe I will turn off the alarm.

stronghunter said...

Hope you get to see a bear, Lynne.

stronghunter said...

Lordy, what has been going on here??

Yes, I am still here.

I mention diapers and come back to find a whole discussion about diapers, seams in diapers, and the art of folding diapers.

Yeah, I remember folding diapers.

Folding diapers was something peaceful to do after everyone was settled in at night. I would fold Kathryn's diapers and pile them on a tiny table in the hall because she was such a light sleeper that I could not take them into her room without waking her up.

Once I got up in the middle of the night to find the table overturned and the diapers on the floor. I picked them up and there was Kathryn on the floor beside our German shepherd. I almost had a heart attack--thoughts of Kathryn being knocked unconscious by that tiny table came to mind.

She was fine. She was just asleep beside her beloved dog.

Good morning, Lynne. Indeed, sad news about Jason, thanks for the link.

Kay said...

Lynn, this avatar is for today only and in honor of your years of service to, loyalty to and pride in GM ! My Envoy doesn't have the air compressor feature, but AAA responded quickly to my one flat tire. I've never met an Envoy owner who didn't rate it high. My GM service mgr. laments the fact they are no longer in the line.

Kay said...

Skimming posts since I left at 7:30last night I see that Truder made a brief appearance at 7:45--it figures !;o(

Lolly, hope the aches are gone. Will be stopping at Target today in hopes of finding the walking dvd. How long does it take you to walk 2 miles ?

Enjoyed the talk about dypes ! We've come a long way, baby !

Paula, Judie is right, you have nothing but adorable grands !

DanaMo said...

Good morning Kay and Lynne. I couldn't open the link on the bears, and whenever I go to the cam I can't see anything. Not sure why.

DanaMo said...

Raining pretty hard here again at 5 this morning. Now it's just steady, going to be another wet day at the nest.

magpie said...

Good Morning Eagle Friends...
perched and watching the nest this morning

tough news to have to post, Judie and Lynne, about Jason the Bear, but thanks for doing so

Shirley, good that you can assist Rebecca in her graduate program search

Yup lots of rain, tough days for the worms again today

Kay said...

WVDana, hope you find the right shoes soon--when feet hurt, you hurt all over.

Shirley, praying that whatever you're facing will be resolved soon !♥ The bird bath is a beauty, but like you, I wonder, why glow in the dark ? Years ago, when replacing the bulb on my vacuum cleaner, Stan said he didn't understand the need for a light on the thing anyway. I told him it was so I could run it at night without turning on the lights and waking him up.☺

Christine, the news from Houston continues to thrill ! So glad your dad is improving each day !

I'm at the end of my post skimming notes and probably left someone or something out, but my thoughts and prayers are with all in need.

The ☼ is up at the nest so hope after this is published I find my early morning cohorts are checking in !

Lynne2 said...

Mornin' Kay! I have a walking DVD that came with the belt thing you wear with stretchy bands for arm exercises. I've never used it! I have a Gazelle Glider thing that I really like. Very easy on the knees, and unlike a regular elliptical machine, you can change the length of your stride and really mix up a workout.

magpie said...

Wanda
Good that you can be there for the church services and reception...
hope it goes well, sorry it has to be such a rainy sloppy day for that
Wondering, how the Captain is getting along on his fishing/card-playing getaway, hope he and his buddies are enjoying themselves - maybe he is seeing some great wildlife including eagles !

Lynn will like your avatar Kay !

magpie said...

Hope you will find some more chicks peeping this morning DanaMo

magpie said...

Yep the sun ☼ wil be out whether we can see it through the clouds or not Kay - sure looks lighter at the nest than it really is

Lynne2 said...

Hi DanaMo and Margy! Congrats on the chicks Dana! see you made a trip to Balto. yesterday. I live close to there, on the west side outside of town. I hate it.

Margy, what do you have planned for this day off, soggy though it will be

Lori O. said...

Good Morning Margy, DanaMO, Kay and Lynne!

Lynne what's the bear link again? I can't get that one to work. (it's probably me)

magpie said...

Shirley
we had a lot of fun with the diaper talk. I used to enjoy folding them also...but it was for nieces and nephews and the kids I babysat for

magpie said...

hope you find the right kind of shoe, it's kind of like hair, when one is having a bad hair day or a bad shoe/foot day, it can affect everything ! But a lot more uncomfortable with the shoe thing!

don't you all forget to refresh your live feeds ! I just did at 14.46 mins

Lori O. said...

Oh ya, DanaMO how are the chicks?

Kay, that was very sweet of you to do an avatar for Hedgie.

Lynne2 said...

Hi Lori!

Sorry folks, don't know why the link didn't work.

Sad Bear Update

DanaMo said...

Thanks Margy I think I will have at least one more this morning.
All this talk about working out makes me feel guilty. My excuse...it's not warm out yet. LOL! Of course there is a treadmill downstairs, and I should be using it since I have gained 10 lbs this winter!

Kay said...

Ah, yes, there you are. Good morning Dana and Margy ! Can't tell for sure if it's raining right now at the nest, do you know ?

Sorry you're having cam probs, Dana, hope it resolves soon.

Margy, when I saw how late you were up last night I thought you might sleep in today. How do you do it ?

Lynne, I wish I had room in my small condo for a glider, but hope the in place walking will help me out on rainy or icy days. My daughter lives just 3 miles down the road and I can go there anytime to ride her recumbant bike, but do I. Not !

Lori O. said...

Margy, I found that after the cam stops the first time, instead of refreshing, click the play arrow at the bottom of the cam screen and it will usually not stop again!

floralgirl said...

Good morning :)
Today's nest weather- surprise...wait for it...wait for it... rain! It must be Spring!
Showers...mainly this morning. Highs in the upper 50s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.

Lynne2 said...

the diaper discussion was hilarious! I remember the the time before Pampers. UGH. As a little girl, I remember diapers being swished in the toilet, and mounds of diapers being folded and stacked. Then when older, changing diapers, sticking my fingers, or worse, accidently sticking a very squiggly baby. Horrible things!

magpie said...

Lolly
bull-headed me thinks I figured it out, the bird I saw at Fin-Ferry was closer to the cam and looked big like a raven, and I didn't see the two colors.
The ones I have pics of are on Feathers Fur and Miscelleneous...
where for some reason I also put up two sets of the Sea Eagle

DanaMo said...

oh that is so sad about the bear cub. :(

Kay said...

Hey Lori ! Glad you're with us--just knew you would be !

Thanks for the refreshing reminder, Margy !!!!

Lynne2 said...

April showers will not make for a nice trip to my MIL's this Saturday. Especially with the dogs going with us.

Lynne2 said...

Lori, that works for me too, but I don't always get the play button when the feed stops. Sometimes it's still the pause button, and if I click, it will take me to the recent frame but then I have to refresh anyway.

magpie said...

Thanks Megan... yep, I think 100% on the rain is for real...

Lynne2 - gotcha on the arrow thing, that is what I meant by refreshing, thanks, it is quicker than refreshing
and I am actually working today 8am to 8pm...caffeine is how I am going to do it today

You should see alll kinds of beauty on your trek to WV this week-end

Kay said...

Top o' the morning to you, Megan ! Thanks for the weather report !

I'm going to try your refreshing, Lori !

Some blessed person gave me a year of diaper service with the first born, 55 years ago ! That was great. By the time 2 and 3 came along I had a nice washer and dryer, so did dypes myself. Ooohh how I missed the diaper service !

magpie said...

whoops sorry

Lori O. said...

Haha - got the lucky arrow and playing is underway on my cam here.

Thanks for the Jason Bear Link Lynne. Horribly, swfully sad. I hate the helplessness of situations like that. It must have been so awfully sad for the researchers who were there with him.

Kay said...

Left out "idea", Lori, but you understood, I'm sure.

NO NEST VISIT THIS MORNING FROM BELLE OR TRUDER

Lori O. said...

I'm taking a quick balcony break if someone could keep an eye on the nest for a little while.

Lurkers jump in!

floralgirl said...

Hahaha I would love a siesta. I'm off to work. Have a great day everybody!

Good Morning Sharon! Yep, a very slow morning here.

How is Sissy/Bev?

I'm moving into Lurker Mode, or should we call that LM since we have acronyms for nearly everything.

Getting back to work.

Have a great day everyone. Hope there's a visit today.

Good morning all you beautiful people. Nice sunny day in North Alabama. Just finished eating my sausage and biscuits. Yummy for the tummy. lol

Red said...

I've changed my share of diapers too. My first wife and I had three in diapers for a short time and I think I probably changed about as many as she did.

Red said...

And yes I washed and folded them too.

Christine said...

Good morning everyone. I hope you are all well today :)

So we haven't seen Belle and Truder for 2 days now??? Is this correct?

Red said...

Truder was in the nest very briefly yesterday once. Belle was not seen.
The black object in the nest looks like a rat or mouse today. My imagination is going wild. haha

hedgie said...

Good morning........I guess.
Gloomy and wet and cool.

Such sad news about Jason....wonder what happened??? Haven't been on FB yet.....poor little bear. I am heartsick.

Lynne, cute Jeopardy scenario!
MEant to tell you yesterday---along the road, the redbuds here are getting color. But not yet in the woods. Guess heat from the roads has helped those.

Catching up slowly, commenting as I go.

Judie said...

Good morning, everyone.

Finally some sleep. Hope Shirley managed a bit of rest before heading for school. Whatever is upsetting her, I hope it disappears quickly.

Judie said...

Yes, Shirley. College entrance essays are readily available. However, applicants do not comprehend that if the essays are available to them they are also available to admissions committees. Imagine reading five applications in succession and all five have the same essay!lol That's why I use SafeAssign.

Can't imagine glow-in-the-dark bird feeders or bird baths.

Rainy here in the D.C. outskirts. Think this is a stay in and just fine-tune an exam. Maybe make two versions. Wouldn't be too much trouble.

hedgie said...

So sorry about Dinky, too, Lynne. They do tend to just suddenly pass with no real indication of anything being wrong. :(

Judie said...

Headed back to get under the covers, drink my coffee, read the newspaper, try to not think about Jason.

Decorah was feeding her babes who promptly went to sleep. The camera operator was so nice to pan around the area to show everyone the horses, barn, lake, really up close of the intertwined nest sticks. Was quite a treat.

Judie said...

Our nest MT, NBG babes sleeping, Phoebe still mostly in dark, Hornby mostly still dark.

Okay, really leaving now.

Judie said...

Oh, I didn't mean to be insensitive...sorry about Dinky.

hedgie said...

KayIM, thanks for showing me your Envoy! And I can even get a little glimpse of YOU!!!

Just read Dr. Lynn's report.....and now I can't see for crying.

Christine said...

They seem to have a very persistent and brave owl at Decorah. Here's the video of mom being attached.

Poor Jason

Cams have been dismantled. Den no longer in use, and the bears have roamed away from the exterior cam range.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

My heart is so heavy about little Jason. I am not sure how much more heartbreak my heart can stand. Might need to back up and regroup on all of this.

hedgie said...

Shar---I know what you mean. Nature can be so cruel.......better that we don't know/see/hear about most of it......but if we weren't watchers/backers/supporters, etc., just think of the research that wouldn't get done, and the knowledge that wouldn't be gleaned.

hedgie said...

WhooHoo.....Isla has laid her first egg!!!!(which makes 59 in her Loch nest history!!!)

Isla and egg

Congrats to Ilsa and the Laird Y7!!! Know that Chrissy and Bobbi and Loretta and wv sUSAn are all especially thrilled!!

Lori O. said...

Hi Lynn, Sharon, Christine and all.

Coming out of LM (Lurk Mode) before I hit the road.

I think you're right Lynn - nature is cruel but we learn how to help even more of them and our voices grow stronger.

Sharon, Lynn - I completely understand your feelings and tears Sharon for Jason. I cried and I don't even watch the bear cam. But I think we need to keep watching, learning, making friends, and taking care of friends until we can't get out of bed or even manage a smile. THEN it's time to pull back. Until then, hang in there and know there are great folks here who understand and will give a hug anytime.

(((( GREAT BIG GROUP HUG for JASON ))))

Lolly said...

Good morning! Trying to push the thoughts of Jason out of my mind, but tears are leaking out. OMG! Do not know how they could stand walking away the first time from that little abandoned bear. My heart breaks for them. Bet they find nothing wrong with him except for being under nurished.

Kay.....good luck finding the video. It gets a little boring walking in place but I sure am happy to have excercise equipment out of my home. The treadmill took up way too much space. The first time I started walking this way was two years ago. Four months after beginning the walking we went hiking in the mountains and I did great! Was in condition to hike! Yea! If you do not find in in the store, look on line for it.

Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds Ultimate Collection

The first DVD listed is the one we have.

I do the 2 mile walk and it takes me 30 minutes.

Wahoo! About Isla! Yes, know that Chrissy is happy happy happy!

Getting close to a split!

HEADS UP!

Lori O. said...

LOLLY! I was going to ask you about walking and thought, "nah, I already have some walking videos." They're Leslie Sansone videos and I've never used them, so I'm very excited to hear an enthusiastic endorsement.

Leaving now - can't even lurk in the car, though every day I wish it was possible!

Thought I would share this....some creative writng by a Lily bear fan.

From facebook.....

Here is the latest chapter in Hope's Big Adventure. I thought it would be nice to share and help comfort others. Thank you Gail for sharing your gift of writing with us all.

April 12, 2011

"Mama, Jason is not keeping up with us. What's wrong with him?" asked Hope. "Hope, there are things in life that are not always pleasant. We must learn to cope with the bad along with the good. Our little Jason is very ill and I'm afraid he is very weak and will not survive. We must continue on," replied Lily. "Are we going to just leave him there, MaMa?" asked Hope. "We must," replied Lily.

Shortly, Lily could hear someone coming. By this time she, Hope and Faith were 1/3 of a mile away from where Jason lay in a very weakened state. Lily thought I must protect my strong cubs as she gave a strong bluster towards Dr. and Sue as they approached her. Realizing who they were and that they did not pose a threat, she eventually settled down and allowed them to come close. They were there to change Lily's collar to a GPS unit so they could locate her as she and her family wandered the forest.

After the collar change, Dr. and Sue returned to Jason and at 4:03 PM watched as he took his last breath and passed on.

"Oh MaMa, why is this happening?" asked Hope. "Please tell me. You are a MaMa and you know everything," cried Hope. "No Hope, Mamas do not know everything and

neither do I. I wish I could answer you, but what I do know is that we must accept many things we face that make us very sad. We must think that little Jason is now in a better place where he will not suffer and where he will be happy." replied Lily.

Tears were rolling from Hope's eyes as she cried for the loss of her little brother. "MaMa, I am going to miss him so much. We have been together as a family for three months and he has become so much a part of my life." said Hope. "Come here, Hope," said Lily. "Let me hold you close."... Tears falling also from Lily's eyes as she knew how much she would miss her baby. The two remained hugging and crying while they both watched the surviving cub, Faith romp through the forest. "Hope, we must be thankful for Faith. We must not dwell on the bad, but rather concentrate on how fortunate we are to have a healthy baby." "Oh Mama, it will not be easy, but I will try," replied Hope. "This is still another step in growing up, Hope. Someday you will come to understand fully." sobbed Lily.

And, with that I am off to eat breakfast and walk. Time to start my day.

Back is better today and I am going to try to take it easy today, moving but not abusing my back.

Have a great day! And, I may be getting WAX! Yikes!
