THANKS, STEVE...rainy days and Mondays always get me down!

Costume Lady said...

Thank you, LYNN, for the tornado warning. Think I will stay inside this morning!

Costume Lady said...

Something I read a long time ago, but never did...cut strands of colored yarn and place them around your yard. The birds will gather them for the nesting materials and you will be able to see where they are1 Maybe some of you have done that, if so, were you able to find an elusive nest? I'm doing it for sure this Spring.

Costume Lady said...

Speaking of nests, did I ever tell you all that I did finally get a Thank You note from NCTC for our donation toward the nest cam? If not, take note, I did get a very nice note saying that they don't usually get a sizable donation like ours:) Maybe next year we can give them more...just saying...

Costume Lady said...

Well, Capt. Father Gene is still asleep. I need to go see if he is alright and send him on his way to get the tire fixed on the van. We will need it to pick up the boxes of food from the Food Bank. We meet the tractor trailer at K-Mart and load up. Have a safe morning♥

glo said...

Good morning everyone. Dex and I have returned form our "trek" across the street for coffee and dog treats. Very icy morning indeed but the small amount of sleet and snow mixed in did give it some texture. glad to be home again though. Weather is a little crazy these days. Surely hoping things at the nest are ok today. I am so ready for spring.

Wanda Sounds like your food and clothing ministry are going very well indeed. I also love the kids making placemats idea. I may borrow that one :-).

Magpie I hope some where in your day is some down time for you for REST> Now you might need to be looking that word up from what I see on here. You might not be very familiar with that concept. :-)

Hedgie So very glad indeed that you have heard from Lynne and they are both feeling better.

Have a good and a safe day everyone.

rain and tenting our NCTC

Hang on Belle and Liberty !

hedgie said...

Very hard downpour. Satellite out for a few minutes. Lights have blinked. Doesn't look like anything is hitting nest....yet!

Monday, February 28, 2011 9:52:00 AM

Oh, yeah, wind is at nest now for sure.....

Monday, February 28, 2011 9:59:00 AM

Belle is going for a wild ride in that tree. And there's the rain there. Hear it hitting the mike and can see it.

magpie said...

yeah
hope the office is lining up people besides ME to get in to the office

Thanks Glo...working on that rest definition and execution

Prayers for safety for EVERYONE and every CREATURE affected by the possible weather situations

paula eagleholic said...

Aw, look at her tenting in the nest! I missed seeing them yesterday!

magpie said...

ok fish showing up at BWE again !

magpie said...

got lots of Momsters and Dadsters in the watch/warning areas here and DC area and other part of the country...

got you all in heart with safety wishes

hedgie said...

Good tenting by Belle. But squall seems to have passed.

wvgal_dana said...

A tornado watch for our area. Now where would I go in this double wide???? Well if it happens just look for me where the dryer or wash machine and the garland ended up at.

wvgal_dana said...

I went outside before about 1/2 hr before storm hit. Shoveled all the snow into different area that the rain would hit it. I am tired of seeing white stuff. Looking out the window it did a pretty good job of getting rid of it.

NatureNut said...

Good Monday Morning!
Looks like rain blowing at an angle on Belle & the nest.
It's about 65° here, but cloudy. Don't know what's in store for later.
Need to read back, as I see Lynn heard from the Sopers.
Wanda, you guys sure are busy! Have a safe, good one.
And Margy, what is rest???LOL Do you have to work today?
Gonna read back~~~BBL

wvgal_dana said...

Wanda sorry to hear that Corporal Buckles died. He was very well known. Had many military vistors came to Charles Town to visit with him since he was the last veteran of WWI.

I did think they would have a viewing here. For the people in the area. Then take him to
Washington, DC.
So many people here would have wanted to pay their respects.

Yes Lynn the PH moved to a new nest. That is what they thought might have been happening
down at NCTC. While they were putting up the new cam. Of course we are all glad Belle and
Lib decided to stay put. Too bad the old cam which they wanted to use I think for the night light went bad. Eagles in nest so nothing they could do.

Wanda did you all get a freezer for the church?

I love the idea that some of the kids from the
church are going to learn about the Soup Kitchen ----GREAT IDEA ( :

Margy so glad you had some James times. ( :
How is it going with the noise upstairs?

magpie said...

Belle just did a little rearranging of things and gave a quick peek at the two egglets...

Dana, still trying to figure out what the upstairs folks are all about...
but the noise is, mostly, tolerable except when the 3 yoa is having a hopping fest !
And well, she is 3, so that is natural I guess

hedgie said...

Did You Know.......that a baby platypus is called a puggle?
Rescued Puggle

paula eagleholic said...

Wanda, good news all around about the soup kitchen and clothes closet.

Mema Jo said...

Morning everyone! Going to be a wet and windy one most of the day. When I read about the tornado alert and saw the dark skies - I immediately knew this was not a day to sit around in my nightgown - I am prepared to be blown away with my street clothes on
and even my shoes.

I am seeing that Lynn has some news from Lynne/Steve - going over to read
comments.

magpie said...

ROFL Jo....
hope the bad stuff bypasses you !

magpie said...

looks like our February E-M album will close out under 100 pics

Betting, hoping, wishing and Praying that the March album pictures will far exceed that number!

magpie said...

Wanda !

Thank you for the information about the Thank You Note you received regarding our donation to the Eagle Cam....

Mema Jo said...

Mother Nature can really put a scare into a person. OK Now I feel better that Steve is going to work today and that Lynne will be on later - They are among the living. I sure have been
worried.
Beautiful tenting at our nest I agree that the left side looks as though it needs some reconstruction work.
3 chicks uncovered at BWE

Lolly said...

Good morning! Yes, Jo your comment about being prepared brought a smile to my face. Even have your shoes on. LOL (((Hugs))) for you too, before you blow away!!!

Seriously...keep an eye to the sky!

Sunny and cool here after the front passed by. Going to remain cool today.

Yes, it was late last night when I started enjoying the videos of Hope and the cubs. I think Hope does more mothering than Lily! Then PH posted about the newest nest. Late night was very interesting.

Jack and I both read about Mr. Buckles. Very interesting! Jack remembers the passing of the last Civil war veteran.

Lolly said...

Does not look too windy at the nest right now. Prayers that the tree and the nest withstand high wind!!

Mema Jo said...

Margy, you are the main contributor of pics of our nest and I thank you so
much. It is so great to look back over the happenings!

magpie said...

sounds like C5 flying over the nest

Lolly said...

I am off to eat breakfast and get a start on my day...a start on this new week.

Have a great day everyone! (((hugs)))

Taa Dah!!! If you can stand it~~Fubby went to Staples & cruised 'puters. We like an HP w/Windows 7,and were told by Dell techie on phone yesterday that they CAN transfer files from dead duck 'puter to new one. Staples said techie will be in at 12:30 we can take our "brain box" up there & they can transfer files to ne puter!!!I sure don't need everything, but can delete old stuff later!

floralgirl said...

The Tornado Watch has been cancelled for most of the region, although it is still in effect for Washington, D.C. and the southern and western suburbs of D.C. Although the line of storms was severe as it approached the Appalachians, the line pushed through northern Maryland much faster than we expected, and exhausted the low amounts of instability that was present. Another batch of showers moving in from the west is currently below severe levels, though gusty winds will be possible.

NatureNut said...

Boo Hiss---techie to do transfers won't be at Staples til TU.

Mema Jo said...

Thank you for the update Megan!

glo said...

execution NO!!! :-)

OK I am off to grocery in the ice that is at least beginning to melt osme. Dex and I even got the walk done. I walked mostly in the snow. I am so ready for spring.

hedgie said...

Good luck, Lowreeda! Hope the transfer is painless and successful!!

Lolly, Mr. Buckles' farm was just a little ways form where Christie and Shannon live. Passed it everytime I went there before they put in the new bypass.

hedgie said...

Glo....?????execution???
Be safe in your trip to store.

wvgal_dana said...

lol I started reading Megan's comment as this "The Tomato Watch" lol lol lol I got to get a life lol no the glasses do not need changed lol

hedgie said...

Trying to get ready to head out---Mai is not being cooperative. I've got to go deliver Mr. Bill's birthday present! He is 67 today.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Good afternoon all you beautiful people! Sorry I ain't been on in so long! I am such a slacker sometimes! Hope all is well in your worlds!!

hedgie said...

Guess what? Spring will be here in 20 days!!!! Isn't that encouraging?? And if the groundhog was right, it should be sooner, if not by calendar, at least by temps!!!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

The bad storms have missed us so far, looked like it was going to happen but then fizzled out. It is raining but no storms. We have a very wet eagle in our nest though!

hedgie said...

Hi there, Sissy! How you be??? Did your stove die??? Judie will tell you where to send it! Good luck in finding what you need/want!
Feeling so sorry for Sharon...poor girl must be really sore. :(

hedgie said...

Left side of our nest DOES look deficient. I would say they lost a lot. Lib better get busy fixing that before he has to get busy hunting and gathering!!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I am good Lynn. Yeah, my stove has been dying and just don't have the funds to get a new one right now. All money goes toward the boat!! LOL! I have 2 eyes that work and one that works sometimes. The oven still is great but....

My sis sure did bust her face up. She said she is sore as heck today. Bless her heart. I want her to move home! RIGHT NOW!!!

hedgie said...

By eyes, do you mean the burners? Can't they be replaced??

Wish you could get both Sharon AND Thelma back home where they belong!
Nothing wrong with Bedford, of course, just too far away from family!

floralgirl said...

Food delivery our nest.

hedgie said...

Saw that, Megan...was in the middle of answering an email and couldn't get here to type it!

hedgie said...

TTFN. See you later.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Yeah, I mean burners. No they can't be replaced, the connections are worn out, just done for!! I will end up having to buy one I am sure, but you never know, someone on FB might be upgrading and I could find a good one for not alot of loot!! Gonna go find my couch! Catch ya'll after while! Gotta pick Mattie up from school. She has been staying with me quite a bit lately, wish she could come back home. I think she wants to but is afraid of hurting her Mom's feelings.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Wanda, just saw that about the thank you from NCTC! I think we should give them more. Who benefits from that cam more than us?? Not a soul in the world, I imagine!

glo said...

Hedgie In response to me encouraging Magpie to get some rest she wrote:

Blogger magpie said...

Thanks Glo...working on that rest definition and execution

I was picking on her but of course she is busy resting so hasn't see it :-)

paula eagleholic said...

looks like Lib is on duty :)

paula eagleholic said...

Uh oh, what happened to Sharon?

paula eagleholic said...

And thanks for the info on the PH nest....IWS was correct...a 3rd nest! Glad to hear they are probably sitting on eggs!

paula eagleholic said...

I think the left side of the nest looks fine...might need a little bit of straightening, but we can't see the build up on that side of the nest due to the angle of the cam.

paula eagleholic said...

Hey Sissy, you might want to try Craig's list.

paula eagleholic said...

Chicklets in view at BWE

paula eagleholic said...

Egg roll our nest. 2 pretty eggs. Lib still has a white feather on his right shoulder. wiggle wiggle ♥

Happy Birthday to Bill ( :

Costume Lady said...

Yes, SHARON, when our homies are trying to do their best to keep the eagles in sight for us and care about us, I would wish to give them all that we have;)

Costume Lady said...

JO, lol, I did the same thing as you with the PJ's. I told Gene, if I was going to be rescued after our house blew away, I wanted to have clothes on. So, we both got dressed and were ready to head into the basement. We have some good, pretty safe areas in the basement, along with my treasures. Photos, etc. are pretty much safe in metal suitcases.

paula eagleholic said...

Yes,

Happy Birthday Mr Bill!

Costume Lady said...

For those of you who are not on facebook, and if you are interested, I have 3 videos of last Friday's Family get-together.
I keep cutting peoples heads off. I'm so interested in what is going on that I don't pay attention to what I am doing with my cam.
Lolly, all my videos are being taken with my Flip Video. Have you used yours yet? I love mine!

Costume Lady said...

OH NO, MR BILL...another birthday?
Oh, well, enjoy!

Judie said...

Good late rainy day afternoon. Trying to catch up but slow going. Been busy with school work/reading and just trying to do some organizing.

Sorry about Mr. Buckles. I'm sure he will be given all the pomp and circumstance and gratitude he deserves.

Looks like Belle is comfy and the wind has died down. Very nasty weather off and on today.

TH and WE look nice with adult incubating at each. Ted and Lucky are sleeping. There is an adult at Hornsby (no egg there yet).

Seems Paula has found a bird paradise. Lucky lady!

Wanda, small short pieces of yarn are favorites of nesting birds and, yes, you can usually see where the nests are located.

Going back to check the Saga of the Sopers.

wvgal_dana said...

Wanda my basement is under my double wide LOL

floralgirl said...

Both our nest.

Judie said...

Ah, good. Glad Lynne2 and Steve are improving.

Hi Sissy, don't know what happened but sure hope Sharon is on the mend.

I know a place where the snow is deep and deeper and deeper still and dead appliances are never to be found!

Hope Margy is able to "execute" some rest sometime soon.

I'm with Jo about being prepared. When I fell last Nov., I was in a nightshirt (I know, TMI) and Darth had to go find underclothes and a robe as I refused to let him call 911 until I was "dressed" for company. Course, Darth finding my underwear is a whole 'nother story.

Going to check the nest again before heading to the kitchen. Meatloaf tonight -- hated meatloaf until I found this recipe.

BBL

floralgirl said...

Empty nest for a little while now. Didn't see eagle fly out.

Lolly said...

Just got home from running errands. I see no adults, where are they?????

Lolly said...

Yea! Belle is back!

paula eagleholic said...

Looks like Belle wiggling in. The nest is drying out. Looks like some new fluff. Belle is placing it around her.

Costume Lady said...

OK, Judie...we need your meatloaf recipe. If anyone thinks their recipe is good, then be prepared to share it:)
Darth looking for underwear is too funny:) I have bright pink underwear with rhinestones on...that is what Gene would get for me (A never worn gift;))

Lolly said...

The video of the wind blowing the BWE off the eggs is great. Should know to face the wind. LOL

hedgie said...

Hello, I'm back. Need to catch up again, but just sent all an e-mail for whom I have an email address. Mai made it into the final 64 for a pet photo contest.
Please vote every day (once per computer) through March 6th. I will let you know if she advances to the next round. If you don't get an e mail from me, use link below and click on The Fetching Division and choose Mai Ying from the column on the right! Thanks!!
Pet Photo Contest

Lolly said...

Bright pink with rhinestones? Wow!!

Lolly said...

I voted, Lynn! Precious picture, now if she would just start acting precious!!!

hedgie said...

From Lynne:

I was wrong. I"m never going to get better. I've been having coughing fits all day, every hour or so for 10 to 20 minutes. Just started getting the chills again...and sure enough, my temp is creeping up. I can't do anything that even slightly strains my breathing or another fit starts. I can't go to work and already missed all last week. The Dr said she has done all she can do for me and that if I feel like I need more help, I should go to the ER. So I guess I'll consider that option again if I don't improve overnight. One step forward, 2 steps back. I'll keep ya posted, but I won't be back to play on the blog for a while....

I think we all need to go there with our eagle canes and beat this stuff out of her!

Costume Lady said...

Come on, you all...Mai is in 3rd place...vote for her. We can make a winner of her, just like we did, DEX!

Costume Lady said...

VOTE FOR MAI...PRAY FOR LYNNE!

hedgie said...

Thanks, Lolly....of course that pic was when she was still cuddly at about 6 weeks!!!

Judie, please share the recipe (I don't like any meatloaf except my own, and even that not so much!). And come on...give about Darth and the underwear! Hope you aren't going to say he got it out of the hamper!!

Okay, Glo---gotcha about execution!!

hedgie said...

Thanks for b-day wishes for Bill.

hedgie said...

Sissy, sending you mail.

hedgie said...

Wanda, did you get letters from the other places?
Well, IMHO, for whatever it's worth, giving to other worthwhile causes is totally acceptable. Share the joy, as they say.

hedgie said...

For those who missed it:
Sharon fell on her face yesterday and is kind of buggered up.

paula eagleholic said...

Cool, Lynn, I can go home and vote from there, too :)

paula eagleholic said...

BWE eagles still wet, it will be awhile before it ends down there. We might get just a tad more.

Heading home...

hedgie said...

Right on, Wanda!! If Dex can do it (good dog) so can
Mai (bad dog)!!!!!

hedgie said...

Wow....Mai is now in 1st place in her division!

hedgie said...

It is sprinkling again here.

Lolly said...

Hey, we can help you win, Lynn! What's the prize???

hedgie said...

Just lost cam! Refresh.

hedgie said...

Free dog food for a year, Lolly. Plus some other goodies!
Shang won a pet photo contest at our Mall when she was a puppy. We won $100 and a charcoal sketch of her by a local artist.

hedgie said...

Here is what email said:
One lucky dog or cat will win the All Star Treatment from The Dog Shop with over $800 worth of prizing including free food for a year!

Lolly said...

Well, we are going to help you win!

Lolly said...

Belle is watching something and chirping. Looks like she has twisted her head around.

Lolly said...

Mai is now in first place! Wahoo!

paula eagleholic said...

Lynn, put my vote in from home, too :)

glo said...

LOL Hedgie Mai is just a Puppy dog in bigger skin. Do send daily reminders or my guess is they will be posted on here several times by folks voting. Mai is goona be eating good for a year. Will help her grow into thos BIG muddy Paws :-)

Mema Jo said...

I voted! The picture of her is
adorable!

hedgie said...

Still raining lightly here.

hedgie said...

Thanks, Paula. Right, Glo---you all will get tired of being reminded!!!

Costume Lady said...

Yes, Lynn, I got a lovely letter from Days End Farm Horse Rescue and a fridge magnet. Also, got a thank you note from Megan's suggested place, but can't think of their name at the moment.
It was NCTC that held out for so long and then, it was explained to me that they didn't know what the money was for. DUH? check said Eagle Cam Fund! It was Steve whom I asked if they had gotten the check...he checked and found it's whereabouts:)

hedgie said...

Hurray....young man from Silver Spring, MD will be in the finals for the Jeopardy Teen Tournament!

paula eagleholic said...

Duke eagles got their first egg today around 2pm!!

hedgie said...

Okay, Wanda! Remember the saga of the missing check but forgot to ask you about it recently! Had you sent it to Friends of NCTC? That is where it should have gone. They are the fundraisers.

hedgie said...

Check out the tenting at BWE now!!

hedgie said...

Really have to splay those wings to cover 3 squirmers!!!

hedgie said...

Congrats to Duke!!

Hmmm, terrible growl from outside. George almost escaped over the end of the front porch when Kathryn was letting Luna out. Kathryn grabbed him just in time. George did not like it. Kathryn did not like being growled at.

stronghunter said...

You are so right about the gasoline prices, Margy. Those of us with long commutes are well aware.

What a mess.

The Fetching Division - I just sent out email to about 20 family and friends... We have to get farther ahead of Leonardo!

Come on Mai Ying

Mema Jo said...

I hope she is ok too! Need to keep watch and see her tent a little more gracefully. Don't know it the wind
caught her again or not.

hedgie said...

Thanks, Jo, but we ARE in the lead!
Go by percentages on the graph bars----we are at 18%---HIGHER THAN ANYONE ELSE IN THE CATEGORY!!!

stronghunter said...

Prayers for our Lynne and Steve. I hope she has gone to the ER tonight. It sounds like she does not need another hard night.

stronghunter said...

I saw your 18% Lynne!

stronghunter said...

I mean Lynn.

Mema Jo said...

I see we are in the lead, Lynn BUT
I'd like to see a much larger margin
for Mai against Leonardo.

I'm getting replies and votes from my family & friends and they all say
She's so cute! And I am agreeing with them. Some of the younger grandkids
are going to get their friends to vote.

Ignore the 1st two - #3 is the winner.
We do have a b-day tomorrow and I know I didn't give you much notice - It is for a teenager (Juvie) & she sure would love your wishes. Thanks.

DWTS line-up announced!
I have my 4 picks already: Sugar Ray Leonard, Ralph Maccio, Petra Nemcova (I think she's the model who survived the tsunami but lost her boyfriend or husband), and Kirstie Alley---she's still quite BIG, but not as big as I've seen her!

stronghunter said...

I am going to go bring the trash can back up to the house. I am worried about the sound of the wind blowing out there.

hedgie said...

I think this is Tori's Sweet Sixteen!!!

stronghunter said...

Tomorrow is Luna's surgery. I'm saying a prayer for her. She is the sweetest dog you could ever wish for.

stronghunter said...

That is a wonderful picture of Mai, Lynn.

stronghunter said...

George . . . yes, he has always been the escape artist. It is really amazing that he has not gone free more often than he has. He usually just stops outside the door and eats grass until someone grabs him. Kathryn grabbed him by the backside tonight because his frontside was already out of reach.

I have gotten him all of his shots because of his tendency to get out. But, I can remember only maybe 3-4 times or so that he has been out for very long since I have had him.

stronghunter said...

Odd thing happened to me today at work. When I tried to log onto the blog, the I could not find the last few days. I think Thursday was the last day there. I knew there were other threads because I had posted on them. Therefore, I could not log on to the current thread. I tried rebooting, but it did not help.

When I got home, everything was normal. I can usually blog from work. I do not know what happened.

hedgie said...

Shirley, that has been happening to several of us recently. Don't understand why.....very irritating.

Prayers for Luna for tomorrow.

George is getting wanderlust in his old age, huh? He better cut it out!!

paula eagleholic said...

It's been quiet at our nest tonight.

Been watching some TV, I'm beat from yesterday.

Hitting the hay early tonight, have a good evening!

Hugs to all ♥

stronghunter said...

George is a rascal in many ways, but I love him anyway.

hedgie said...

Dr. Lynn Rogers is feeling sick over today's news:

Bad news for radio-collared bears

hedgie said...

Paula, you not only worked hard, but that was a good bit of time on the road, too. You deserve a long night of rest! Goodnight!!

Lolly said...

Growing up we had a Siamese Cat. He was not allowed out. He was always trying to sneak out. It was a real pain in the neck. Jack and I have had 4 cats and we have allowed all of them to go out. It has worked out.

magpie said...

that's a tough story regarding the radio-collared bears, Lynn, thanks for posting, will be interesting to see what future outcomes will be

magpie said...

Prayers for your dear Luna and her surgery Tuesday, Shirley ♥

Lolly said...

Have been watching TV, Castle was good tonight. We have a nice roaring fire, feels so good.

Thanks for the update on Lynne. I am confused, why should she go to the ER? Why did the doctor not put her in the hospital.

magpie said...

you know, that's a real good question Lolly !!
wondering why not...

Lolly said...

I just can not understand a doctor telling someone to go to the ER. Does not make sence to me. Lynn?

stronghunter said...

We grew up with outdoor cats, Lolly. I don't think George would do very well now, though. He needs to be closely watched and medicated.

So sad about the bears.

We had a fire tonight, too, Lolly. We've been doing that a lot recently. Very relaxing after a long day.

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, so I will be staying home. Stayed late today to set up lesson plans.

hedgie said...

Maybe the Dr. doesn't have hospital privileges, Lolly. Many here don't. They don't want to spend the time involved with admitted patients. There is probably increased liability insurance costs, too, for hospital care. That is why so many hospitals now are going with hospitalists---Dr's. who specialize in hospital care. Our little ol' hospital has a couple now. My Dr. does not have priveleges, by choice. Of course, there are some Drs. who the hospitals revoke their privileges for disciplinary reasons. We have a few of those here, too!

stronghunter said...

That is a good question, Lolly. I do not understand it either.

magpie said...

James the grandson was all snuffly yesterday, so I did as I usually do when he is.. I hug him and kiss him and tell him to give me his germs...
Guess What! Seems like it might have worked ! Now I am all snuffly.
He still has some snuffles too...but I have... something! Not likely I would be symptomatic so soon, but it will make for a good laugh when I see him Tuesday afternoon !

I think it is Tori's 17th since she was born in '94.

Lady BW is still tenting but looks better than she did earlier.

Oh Shirley you gave me a start !
I DO HOPE your fire was in the fireplace !!

stronghunter said...

Hmm, okay, Lynn. But Lynne must feel kind of abandoned. I hope she will go to the ER.

stronghunter said...

Yes, the fire was in the fireplace.

magpie said...

glad you are staying home Tuesday Shirley, more or less, home from school anyway....
you can keep your mind on Luna in the peace and quiet of your own home

hope your doctor's app't goes well also

Mema Jo said...

I do hope Lynne gets additional treatment - some test need to be run -
and for heaven's sake a Chest X-Ray
needs to be done. Chronic coughing can really do damage.
Prayers for her and sure hope that Steve made it through the day at work.

Lolly said...

Okay, I understand that, Lynn. I just never went to a doctor, I guess, that did not have hospital privileges. Also, have not been in the hospital that much. Thank goodness!

magpie said...

If I get snuffly enough I can start using some of my almost 400 sick days...
It's official, I return to dayshift Wednesday...
get to sleep in my own bed AT NIGHT for a change..but I will surely miss working with Lynn's Carolyn and the rest of the Midnight Bunch

Better do that now, get to bed that is,
and say
Good Night, Eagle Pals

Enjoyed all your company today, as always

Thanks again JO for the birthday announcements.

Less than 45 mintues left for this old cold month of February...

God Bless Us, Every One

The bear report just sort of crushes
you. Why a hunter can't look before shooting for a ribbon laced collar on the bear - don't deer hunters have to count the points before shooting?
I don't like the DNR on this one!!!!

hedgie said...

Jo, where did you get '94 for Tori? If on FB, kids use different years becaise they aren't supposed to be on there if they are under 16! I could have sworn that Robyn said the special coat was because it is sixteen....???? Might be wrong....

stronghunter said...

I am ready to depart to the upstairs regions of my home and seek some quiet rest before embarking on yet another adventurous day tomorrow.

Yes, staying home for a day is a mixed blessing. I put in extra time this evening preparing for the substitute, and I will have a stack of papers to grade when I return.

Lolly said...

Margy....shame on you for kissing your sick little boy! You should have known that was a no no! Anyone gets the sniffles around here, we tell 'em we love 'em from a distance. LOL

stronghunter said...

A happy whatever birthday to Tori! Sweet 16 or sweet 17.

hedgie said...

I HOPE I'm right since I sent a Sweet 16 card!!!!

Lolly said...

Yea, Margy! Day shift! Just read that. That is great! LOL Guess you do have a few sick days accumulated. ☺

Lolly said...

Okay girls, I am heading to the shower and getting comfy for the rest of the evening. Just finished watching the news and the weather.

Laurel was supposed to have called me tonight to tell me the results of Faye's estate sale, but did not hear from her. However, we are thinking it went very well.

Soooo, I am telling you good night.

Sweet dreams and will see ya tomorrow. Prayers for Lynne and Luna!

hedgie said...

Oh, Margy, please fight that cold!!! Don't let it get a hold on you. Lolly---you are like me: if they're sick, stay away from me!

Jo, I told Lynne to insist on a CT scan!!

hedgie said...

Goodnight to one and all.
I'm sure that Andy will check in soon, but I am heading for the tub.
Judie must have gotten lost in her prep work. And Diann hasn't been blogging much lately. Hope she is doing okay, too.
Prayers for all....and a special one for Luna!

Mema Jo said...

That is even better than the chest x-ray, Lynn.

Look at Tori's email address...

I'll be out of here in case you come back Lynn.
Good night Lolly.

Good Morning Angels!

Reading back over the blog this morning, I must say what a lovely group of people we have here! So happy to be a part of it.

I have voted for Mai in the Pet Photo contest - she is adorable and Lynn I can't believe she has anything but sweetness in that little body! :)

Our nest is very, very dark this morning - Sorry Geula - a few more hours. I know you hate it that it takes so long in your daylight for it to get light here.

I can make out a head by the white blob in the nest area, but that's it. Where's the moon?

Good Morning Margy, I know you'll check in overnight and I hope all is well.

Lori O. said...

I know Lynne isn't reading the blog because she's so sick, but would those of you in contact with her please let her know that I will say many prayers for her? Thanks.

Such a long illness can be depressing we should really try to keep her spirits up.

Prayers and cuddles for Luna who is having her surgery today. Shirley, I'll be thinking of you all.

BBL - getting ready for work.

Lori O. said...

Three hours later and the nest is even darker now. Waiting. :)

Lori O. said...

YEAH! Beginning to lighten up a bit for anyone who wants a timeline of when it gets light at the nest.

It gets light quickly with just the light from the rising sun.

Lori O. said...

LIGHT AT THE NEST! Still dark outside, but nest and Belle are bathed in light!!!

floralgirl said...

Today's nest weather- Sunny. Highs around 50. North winds 10 to 15 mph...becoming west 5 to 10 mph this afternoon.

Lori O. said...

Rollin', rollin', rollin, keep those eggies rollin....

Belle is up and taking care of the eggs.

Lori O. said...

Finally, company on the night shift!

Good morning Megan. Haven't heard from Margy tonight. I hope she wasn't too busy at work.

floralgirl said...

Morning, Lori:)
Not watching the nest yet, for some reason, I can't open any outdoorchannel pages.

Good morning,

Hey Wanda, we used to put colored yarn in the yard when my children were young, and, yes, we saw yarn in the nests. A few years ago, I found an old nest full of red yarn in my yard. I figured it was probably the kids next door who provided the yarn.

I have watched birds gathering dog hair from Luna and Flash from Kathryn's front yard. Not colorful enough to help you spot a nest, but interesting. Dog hair is nice and soft for baby birdies. There were clumps of hair--probably from brushing the dogs out there.

Must go. Have to take Hunter to school.

Costume Lady said...

RED YARN...Shirley, I wondered if red or orange would be too bright a color for the birds to choose, for obvious reasons, but I guess not. Those colors would be easiest to spot from a distance. Maybe some yarn with mylar in it would be interesting...sparkle***Sparkle***:)

Costume Lady said...

LORI, it is so nice to have you on here every morning...you are a breath of fresh air:) Your reports on our Love Birds are appreciated by those of us who don't get up as early as you:)

Costume Lady said...

I hear a robin outside my window, just fussing her head off. Every year, for many years, a robin has made her nest in a tall arborvitae outside my window, the tree has been cut down over the winter. It was badly damaged from our huge snows of 2009-10.
I hate to have a robin or wren nest near a window...they both fuss all day long and it is so annoying:(

Costume Lady said...

When my collie, Missy, was still living, a mockingbird would not let her near her nest tree and Missy soon learned to walk waaay around that tree:) Mrs. M-Bird would sometimes, land on her back and pull a beakful of long fur and tuck it into her nest:) Birdwatching is so entertaining and educational:)

Lori O. said...

WANDA - thanks. It's my pleasure writing in the wee hours and waiting for Belle and Lib to come into view.

I love your yarn suggestion for bird nests. I even bought a ball of string, yarn, fluff and stuff from the bird store, but the birds haven't touched it as it hangs on a feeder pole.

After reading about the Eagle Canes for so long, I'm wondering if Capt. Gene - the Bean King - makes them?

Costume Lady said...

Oh, sweet Megan, it is nice to have you on early mornings, too.
And, we appreciate your weather of the nest report:)
