Thanks Paula - very thoughtful! They seem to be able to advise NCTC also since the lighting fix was on their end. Now I hope they can fix the 'OK I am watching' button!
Just checking in. Been going through Christmas cards. Fun to go through them and then checked addresses with my address book on the computer. Will have Jack back it up, then I will print a new book.
Yep, Jo....school board said storm will start between 9-10AM. So much for retiree breakfast! Think they are making a wise call......better safe than sorry!
I got in trouble again.....guess I had cams up too much....but I paid $5 to get out of penalty NOW rather than in 24 hrs. Ticks me off!!! Guess I will not open any attachments except in the middle of the night, and only take quick peeks at cams and shut them down. Stupid Hughes.
Stoopid Hughes is right, Lynn. I checked out their policy, they say you can check on your usage...Is it worth the $$ and frustration to get into one of their better plans that allows more usage? Just a thought.
Hi Paula. Hi Hedgie. Woohoooo Wbat a day. I've been stealing peeks at the nest today and stalking the blog. Well the season has started with a bang and with more snow coming up. I have to say that I agree w Chrissy... Where's the Valium!?
Hedgie - who makes the calls on your retiree breakfast?
Also, What about Verizon being available? I think ours runs close to $40 per month for DSL - $480 a year. I know your keeping Hughes due to all the money already there.
I surely don't like that storm that is headed your way, but like Paula said, we have to trust the eagles. They will do the best they can. I have some valiums down here if anyone wants some sent over. :) Didn't help me much to get through my past year.
Have been reading to catch up on the blog--slept in this morning! Am working on a report that must be done for school, and trying to watch the nest, too--not easy!
Glad Sissy is feeling better! Praying that that trend continues!
Gotta run--have school tonight, too. No rain here yet; glad to see no snow there yet, either. Grateful for every no-snow moment possible! Take care, everybody. Will be back after school, late tonight. :o]
Oh--saw the news coverage about Tai Shan & Mei Lan--wishing them a safe journey, and happy lives. Will MISS them! Sigh.... :o[
Hey Paula, you sure are going crazy on Hatchlings on Facebook. It made me giggle seeing you getting so many eggs. I went through that and then just finally put a few eagles on the side and feed them daily. :)
Candy, Mits is having a rough day, as is to be expected. But she will be okay.
Paula, I do need to check out the other prices on Hughes, and probably upgrade.
Jo, basically everyone makes their own decision about breakfast. It's not a "reserved" thing....folks show if they want/can, and all order off menu at a busy little family restaurant. No harm, no foul, except missing the chance for socializing.
College kid called...he's all excited...has not one, but 2 interviews at the same company for a part time job in his field...working with kids in a halfway house. One is at the halfway house tomorrow, the other is with the personnel dept on Monday.
Well my husband is home and has to go back out so have got to go. Will be lurking in the background and worrying over your big storm. Carolina plays basketball tonight against Virginia Tech, so I'll probably be watching. We have been losing a lot lately, but I guess you can't be champions two years in a row. :(
Kids called about cancelling---insurance does not cover snow unless Interstate 68 is shut down. They are still planning on going, but leaving at 11---she's getting off early, and another gal who's a teacher is off now with the school closures already announced. ARGH. Nervous mom time.
Poor Carolyn is having trouble with their fridge...Charlie has replaced the thermostat twice in a week...it keeps "blowing". So they bought a new one today, delivery made---and it wouldn't fit! Delivery guys had already taken the old one to the garage and wouldn't bring it back up to the house. So now she has no fridge in the house. Delivery of a different one not until Tues. (when more snow is due!). She's not a happy camper!
I'm sure they don't close, Jo!!!! But they should use common sense about cancelling reservations when it comes to a super storm like this portends to be! Kids would lose $800+ if insurance doesn't cover.
Local railroad derailment near a crossing....5 coal cars off the track. Bet that will tie up lots of traffic....cars and rail! Wonder how long it will take them to unload all of that coal and lift the cars back on the track---assuming the track isn't damaged????
Waiting until about 8 to run in to grocery store....hoping crowd will be thinned out. Don't have much PB left---not enough for 5 days, plus better get my Valentines so I can get them mailed in a few days. More soup, and some ICE CREAM!!!
Suz has to go in to work in the morning. They don't have things set up so that she can enter her timesheet via computer from home. Argh. She will go long enough to do that and then come home and telecommute the rest of the day. Her car is supposed to be repaired and ready for pick-up, too.
You will not believe what I have been doing. Got out our Atlas and some maps and have been locating everyone. lol Just wanted to know for sure where everyone is so I can come dig you out of the snow!
I have tried everything with Little Man. So I've made him a bed along side my computer. Can't type alot due to he wants my hand on him. So one hand typing a lot.
Did you find me in MD Lolly. I bet your WV map if filled end to end!
Thanks for the info, Hedgie about the coal cars..... I remember someone has the Coal in their newborn's name... Lolly I am just amused by the use of that name.
He kept going to Ed's side of counch and crying,\. I tried everything, He just wouldn't settle down, He is laying here on left side of me but I have to keep petting him. Just a bad day for him I guess.
Jo, we laugh and call Brett and Kellie our hippie couple. She is a teacher, she should know not to spell it that way, but they like to be different, so Talon Coal it is! Yuk!
Yep, found you on a map. I now know that Megan is very close to the nest, even though she is in MD.
By the way I'm so glad Mits keeps us up-to-date on the pandas. I'm glad she does that for us. Even though she knows it has to happen. It still has to be hard for all of them at the zoo including our Mit's.
Got the phone call about 30 minutes ago. No school tomorrow.
Wanted to go to the grocery store and get some gasoline this evening, but the grocery store was so busy people were lining up for parking spots outside. I decided to come home. I have almost half a tank of gas, and have food in the house.
Kathryn called to find out if I can keep Hunter tomorrow, and she picked up some groceries for me. Good daughter!
Of course, now that school is closed, I can make a grocery run tomorrow morning if I need to. Just hope something is left in the store.
Thanks Lynn have done that from day one. It is I know the fact that Ed kept his foot partly under him and rocked him for hours upon hours. They were the 2 counch potatoes. Well he wanted no more of that back to the counch he goes.
Shirley, I think most systems are taking a proactive approach. No sense in getting the buses and kids on the road to have tot urn around and bring them home on bad roads a couple of hours later. Amen!
Yes, that is part of it. But, as Kathryn said, there's also the issue of the cafeteria. If they cook the food, they would have a problem if they did not serve it, and that takes time.
I have heard it said that if you have school, you must serve lunch. I do not know the requlations about that.
Here you have to be in school at least half a day for it to count. They have to feed kids lunch before they send them home. 21/2 hr early dismissal would put buses on the roads at noon and one.
I stopped at Walmart to get birdseed, was just about out..found a nice little suet feeder too. Haven't had one before and they were out last time I was there. Got it outside already and the feeders filled.
Last weather announcement I made at work was for possible 18 to 24 " Know for sure I am home tonight that's all I can plan on....haircut appt canceled for Friday :( Even after Lynne2 reminded me of it..
Live Feed, Much Brighter, Great! Thanks Paula for your work on that...and to NCTC and Outdoor Channel BRAVO !
Thanks to everyone for all the Panda updates and links and all the play by plays at the nest...think it is good I was not home watching some of it...
Hedgie.....what train crossing east of town? I got outta there just before that happened!! (know you are trying to get to the store....woof! that won't be fun !!)
LOL Heard on the news you need to laugh hard 15 a day....for your heart. Well, I am working on it and you helped Paula....pecans it is! Got my sled packed...pecans, chocolate, G & T's (and limes). Sniffer dogs pulling the sled, led by a St. Benard, with a full canister around his neck. Oh, and the plows will be right behind me!
oh boy, latest update from Foots Forcast (cool website, footsforecast.org)
Megan this will make you more historically sick....
Foot's Forecast WINTERMAN ULTRA KAHUNA UPDATE 8PM 2/4/10: JUST A REVISED UPDATE ON AMMOUNTS TO BE EXPECTED: WE NOW BELIEVE FROM SOUTH WEST VA-SOUTHERN PA WILL RECIEVE SNOWFALL AMOUNTS IN THE RANGE OF 20-28 INCHES. THERE COULD BE HIGER LOCALLY AMOUNTS OF AROUND 30" AS WELL. VIDEO IS COMING SOON.
Paula - we get endless printouts on the teletype from NWS - our OES director gets the NOAA ones...
we have a school alert box in the office, it went off for the first time today and then twice later...including one message about two hour delay followed soon by school closure for Berkeley County...it is a VERY LOUD alarm, red flashing lights, and then a printed message.
sure hope to be home to see the eagles in the morning at least, going to head to bed soon now, enjoy what free time I have before the phone rings that it's my time for a shift....
Everyone...be careful, keep the prayers going for safety and warmth for all God's creatures...
Margy, glad you are home! Hoping you get a reprieve from having to go in extra hours. I didn't catch exactly where the derail was....but they said they didn't need police or EMS. I got the impression it MIGHT have been out close to Burke crossing. Store wasn't a zoo, but much busier than I expected for evening. But they had plenty of lanes open, for a change.
I hear the trains going through at Stewarts Crossing Hedgie...so I guess, maybe the tracks are clear
I miss Ceil!
xoxo Night now...going to read. Oh Yes Megan! Looks like I AM getting two copies of Birds & Blooms, so your copy will be in the mail soon ☺ Guess What! Reader's Digest too....anyone? goes to the first bidder !
Oh, yes, live view is much better. Guess we'll find out tomorrow night how it is in the snow! Shirley, if you watch during the night, watch for any restless behavior, butt wiggles, squeals or squawks, and EGG! If it happens, of course, post it and snag some pics!! Jim, Anne Marie and Andy, please do the same!! If anyone is taking a turn, post it so others coming on know! Sure I'll be up during the night, and I'll spell for an hour or so. I can watch without any fear of penalty between 2-7!
Bless your little (BIG) heart Shirley...I think it is informal, first night it was formal...waiting on that first egg...if you are are up and watching and see anything, then you just talk about it...likely someone will be on most of the time, and I am drinking lots of water so I will check the nest when I get up ...☺
Aw... I agree, totally informal. Most PA schools near us have gone with early dismissal, thinking we will be the same, unless the storm moves faster than they think overnight.
Shirley, if you see something interesting...snap pic and post it to your blog. I will move it to Eaglet Momsters Album. I moved a few for you when you asked a while back.
Wow, didn't know it was that late! Went in to work after lunchtime to finish a job & stayed til I got it all done. Won't have to go in tomorrow (I hope)! Yippee! Gotta read somke comments~~~~
Right, Margy...nothing formal. Jo put out the call but she and I were the only ones who took a defintie time period Tues. night! Good night, sleep tight, and "be prepared" like a good Girl Scout---and maybe that way they WON'T call you in!
Hope Judie got through her classes okay. Maybe she had a b-ball game tonight!
Hi all! Finished another tray of slides while watching Grey's and PP. Also,I had Belle up in a corner of the screen. Laptop worked well even with cam up. Love this puter!
Just got home from school a few minutes ago--just in time to see an egg roll and a wiggle-wiggle! My eyes don't want to focus very well--was on the computer the whole time at school. Need to read the blog, but think I will wait until morning, when I can hopefully see better.
Boy, hope you guys are battening down the hatches before that big storm hits! Keep your cell phones on, so we can find you by your GPS locators! I'm really tired tonight, so think I'll go watch Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice, if I last that long. The night light is on, Spidey's web is waving gently in the breeze, the porch light's on too, and the eye scanner is ready to go. Prayers being said for everyone. Will check back later if I wake up. Sleep tight, gang, and God bless! Goodnight for now. :o]
Well they're saying this storm could be worse that Dec. one.Now I got the time difference on starting~~~Bob Ryan said in DC area, starting shortly after noon, but getting steady around 4PM. Maybe 20" - 30" western VA, S. WV. All this can change. Hope our birds have a big shovel & there isn't another egg in AM!
About Lily's Cub: It’s a GIRL! At least until the cub proves us wrong. The video footage captured last night gave us a good look at the cub’s belly and it’s pretty conclusive. The little lump between the legs says ‘female’, and we couldn’t see a lump higher on the belly that would make it a male.

They seem to be able to advise NCTC also since the lighting fix was on their end.
Now I hope they can fix the 'OK I am watching' button!
Talk about preventive measures.....
Public schools in Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan counties in West Virginia will be closed Friday, Feb. 5, in anticipation of a major snowstorm.
Just checking in. Been going through Christmas cards. Fun to go through them and then checked addresses with my address book on the computer. Will have Jack back it up, then I will print a new book.

Stupid Hughes.
Egg roll, wiggle wiggle. Snug as a bug in a rug :)
I think that looks like Lib...
Stoopid Hughes is right, Lynn. I checked out their policy, they say you can check on your usage...Is it worth the $$ and frustration to get into one of their better plans that allows more usage? Just a thought.

Hi WV USA Susan! What end of WV are you from? I'm sure you're in the line for the snow also.
Well you gals on here did so much gabbing that it took me 45 minutes to get caught up on the blog. LOL
Hi Paula, Lolly Jo WV Susan, Lynn and all others chatting on here. You have all been very busy today. Good to read your comments to get updated.
I surely don't like that storm that is headed your way, but like Paula said, we have to trust the eagles. They will do the best they can. I have some valiums down here if anyone wants some sent over. :) Didn't help me much to get through my past year.

Candy it was mainly Panda chat about Tai and Mei leaving on their trip to China and our eagles egg rolling and our anticipation of the incoming snow.
Hey Paula, you sure are going crazy on Hatchlings on Facebook. It made me giggle seeing you getting so many eggs. I went through that and then just finally put a few eagles on the side and feed them daily. :)
Yes JO and I hope Megan doesn't have snow trouble with her GH That would be terrible
Wow that is some plane going over the nest.
I assume that is an aircraft or what.
Our eagle was well aware of it being so near.
I hope Mits is ok about losing her pandas. It has to be sad.
Incoming
YUp that was Lib, Belle just arrived.
He's a goner, LOL
Switch. It must be time for dinner
Both in the nest and yes that was Lib on the egg cup
New Raptor post:
Raptors
Candy - it's all good with Mits. Wants to see the species survive and diversify the population.
Hatchlings is fun, I toss out the eggs for others...
Yes thanks Paula, I have picked up an egg or two from you.
LOL, if you are wondering why the eagle isn't moving, check the play button.
I am glad to hear Mist is doing ok. We all had so much fun watching them.
Sure wish they would ban lead shot everywhere...CA did it...kills more than just eagles.

Wow Paula good news about your son. You must be pretty excited too. I didn't know you had a child in college.
Hedgie Really liked reading the Raptor report. Great job being done.
Almost dinner time here
Soup & grilled cheese! Heavy dinning.
Go Go College Kid! That sounds super!
Great that he can get situated in the field he has chosen.
Candy - he graduates this May..just got his senior pics taken today, he thinks they will turn out pretty good.
UGH my arms are already hurting from the snow I am imagining I'll have to shovel!
Southwest airlines has canceled all flights from BWI, DC and Philly after 2pm tomorrow.
Weathermen are now using the phrase MONSTER STORM. (or in case I haven't mentioned MY name for it "The Great Superbowl Weekend Storm of 2010")
Lynn, Jo, hope your daughter and SIL have opted to CANCEL their respective trips.
I sure hope Tai and Mei are staying calm on their trip!
Oh Paula, you must be so proud. I am so happy for the both of you.
Catch ya later...heading to Wally world and then home...
Lynne2 - no I haven't hear you mention that, tee hee...
lol!!!
Paula, that's great news about your son!
I have been patiently trying to educate my husband on the evils of lead sinkers for fishing. We don't loose many, but that's not the point, is it.
ABC 2 in Baltimore is getting ready to do a report on Tai.
Are you lurking Mits...thinking about you...(((HUGS)))
Well my husband is home and has to go back out so have got to go. Will be lurking in the background and worrying over your big storm. Carolina plays basketball tonight against Virginia Tech, so I'll probably be watching. We have been losing a lot lately, but I guess you can't be champions two years in a row. :(
You all have a good evening.
That is wonderful for your baby, Paula!!! Sent you an email, that I guess you'll get now when you get home!
Winchester and southern part of valley are going to get clobbered---30" on the high end. We are now in the 12-18" zone. MTBR!!
Kids called about cancelling---insurance does not cover snow unless Interstate 68 is shut down. They are still planning on going, but leaving at 11---she's getting off early, and another gal who's a teacher is off now with the school closures already announced. ARGH. Nervous mom time.
PAULA - Live Eagle Cam - Slowing me down on computer....
Right click on the cam pic itself
Choose Settings
The enable hardware acceleration was on
I clicked it off...
Now I am going top speed!
Thanks to you and Aaron........
Lynne - common sense doesn't always prevail when it comes to canceling plans that were made months ago...Argh!
Oh Yeah! Do snowboard slopes ever get closed because of too much of snowy conditions? I mean really Do They?
Poor Carolyn is having trouble with their fridge...Charlie has replaced the thermostat twice in a week...it keeps "blowing". So they bought a new one today, delivery made---and it wouldn't fit! Delivery guys had already taken the old one to the garage and wouldn't bring it back up to the house. So now she has no fridge in the house. Delivery of a different one not until Tues. (when more snow is due!). She's not a happy camper!
I guess it a good thing that the pandas got out of here today when they did
Night Light is on......
Belle hasn't tucked her head under yet.
Hedgie Sometimes nothing goes right!
It's a shame they didn't think to measure before buying.
I know our panda watching was mainly Tai! But Mei is right there with him!
Mei is off to China
I'm sure they don't close, Jo!!!! But they should use common sense about cancelling reservations when it comes to a super storm like this portends to be! Kids would lose $800+ if insurance doesn't cover.
Local railroad derailment near a crossing....5 coal cars off the track. Bet that will tie up lots of traffic....cars and rail! Wonder how long it will take them to unload all of that coal and lift the cars back on the track---assuming the track isn't damaged????

Egg roll!
Suz has to go in to work in the morning. They don't have things set up so that she can enter her timesheet via computer from home. Argh. She will go long enough to do that and then come home and telecommute the rest of the day. Her car is supposed to be repaired and ready for pick-up, too.
On the east side of Martinsburg, Jo.
Yep, I always measure and take the tape with me when I shop, too!!
5.9 quake off shore of northern CA today.
You will not believe what I have been doing. Got out our Atlas and some maps and have been locating everyone. lol Just wanted to know for sure where everyone is so I can come dig you out of the snow!
Egg rolling!
Wiggle wiggle!
Wow! channel 4 had us in the 20" to 30" of snow area. Excuse me while I hurl.....
Our eagle (I think it is Belle) is antsy again like last evening. I haven't heard any sounds....
She stood for the longest time before getting in the egg cup.
Hi ALL in Eagleland....just caught the egg roll.
I have tried everything with Little Man. So I've made him a bed along side my computer. Can't type alot due to he wants my hand on him. So one hand typing a lot.
Megan don't say that!!!
Did you find me in MD Lolly.
I bet your WV map if filled end to end!
Thanks for the info, Hedgie about the coal cars..... I remember someone has the Coal in their newborn's name...
Lolly I am just amused by the use of that name.
Oh, Megan! I hurt for you! That is a lot of snow!
Hopefully it will be more like 12" to 24 "...which is still too much.
He kept going to Ed's side of counch and crying,\. I tried everything, He just wouldn't settle down, He is laying here on left side of me but I have to keep petting him. Just a bad day for him I guess.
ANYONE: Live feed timer.
Whenever my Live feed gets to
59:59 it automatically changes to
00:01 and keeps running....
Doesn't ask me if I'm still watching and goes on to 10:30 before it asks me.
But then I need to click PLAY after it runs 30 more seconds.
Just wondering it you have noticed it
Holy Cow - Who's taking off?
Thank goodness her head is tucked and the noise didn't disturb her.
Jo, we laugh and call Brett and Kellie our hippie couple. She is a teacher, she should know not to spell it that way, but they like to be different, so Talon Coal it is! Yuk!
Yep, found you on a map. I now know that Megan is very close to the nest, even though she is in MD.
That's right, I am fairly close to the nest. ARe you on google earth?
Lolly, I think you have too much time on your hands!! ROFLMBO! Are you getting the sled dogs ready, too???
Hey lolly, don't forget to bring chocolate!
By the way I'm so glad Mits keeps us up-to-date on the pandas. I'm glad she does that for us. Even though she knows it has to happen. It still has to be hard for all of them at the zoo including our Mit's.
Dana - if you put a shirt or something of Ed's down for him to lie on - would that help or would that make it worse.
No, got out the Atlas and a couple of maps.
Got my sniffer dogs ready!☺
And, I am thinking all of you need at least 2 jars of PB!!!!!
Will pack the chocolate!
WHOA! Her little head came up on that noise.
Hope it isn't foggy out or that his
controls aren't working
Low Flying.......
I have two jars of peanut butter. Thinking about making cookies.
Floralgirl, you made me giggle with your urling over 30". Thanks
Lolly don't forget the plow.... shovels won't work if we get 30"
I hope the are crazy!!!!!
Oh, just saw Tao\i on abc natl news. Feel so sorry for her keeper/trainer.
That was probably a C5, they are huge and noisy, and headed to Martinsburg, National Guard air base. They fly over here a lot.
HiFolks!
Hope everyone else is ready.
Chocolate, plows, sniffer dogs....what else G&T's?
Thanks Lynn have done that from day one. It is I know the fact that Ed kept his foot partly under him and rocked him for hours upon hours. They were the 2 counch potatoes.
Well he wanted no more of that back to the counch he goes.
A snowmobile might be good, Lolly. Or a dogsled.
I told Kathryn to pack pajamas and extra clothes for Hunter just in case he needs to stay overnight.
Will add it to the list! Enjoy your day off tomorrow.
Tai will not need a language tutor because he was trained with hand signals instead of words!!
Agree, Dana....a piece of Eds' clothing would probably help Little Man. Poor pets just don't understand. He just needs comfort.
Lolly, don't forget limes to go with the G&T's!
Pandas on tv now channel 4
Oh, just heard on our weather...you guys are in for a Major Blizzard....just in case you did not know. ☺
Was short but got to see both Mei and Tia.
Here you have to be in school at least half a day for it to count. They have to feed kids lunch before they send them home. 21/2 hr early dismissal would put buses on the roads at noon and one.
Oh, did someone say the B word?
Stores Report - Walmart was like Christmas and the grocery store was like a snowstorm!
Belle is all tucked in...who's on night duty tonight?
Shirley?
Think I am going to go find me something to eat. Jack ate out today, bless him, so he is not all that hungry. I am starved!
BBL
Lolly use St. Bernard's they carry a canister around their neck. We'll need that to help us feel our toes again when you get here.
Time for Jeopardy, then off to store. BBL.
Lolly, don't forget the pecans!
Megan - be dang if I saw the 'b' word.
We said the 't' word but Sharon is on the road headed back to Bedford so didn't matter.
Megan - did you mean 'b' as in Beach
or 'b' as in -- you know Snow Storm?
There goes another one over......
Eagle's head up
I stopped at Walmart to get birdseed, was just about out..found a nice little suet feeder too. Haven't had one before and they were out last time I was there. Got it outside already and the feeders filled.

and all the play by plays at the nest...think it is good I was not home watching some of it...
Hedgie.....what train crossing east of town? I got outta there just before that happened!!
(know you are trying to get to the store....woof! that won't be fun !!)
Can't say enough about that bright live cam Paula...
sounds like Jo is having a ball with a zippier computer and feed...
Megan wish I could come and help shovel the greenhouse.....
know I would get snowed in there with fresh cookies ☺
afraid it's pretty likely I will be at work for some of this week-end
going to pack the bags soon, sleeping bag already in the car
:(
Yes going to watch Bones
Dana
Sure Little Man appreciates all your efforts....this will take time but he will get used to your new routines with him...♥
I'm starving !
back in a little while
Great update on the E-M page Paula....Thank you !!!!
Paula, you need to explain the night watch situation to me. I do not know what I am expected to do.
Eagle up, egg in view
Going to fall aslepp standing up
asleep!!!!
Now looking around. Saw a big yawn too,
Hey Jo, wanna place a bet on who will announce school closure last? Frederick or Washington county?
All settled back in now
Bet Frederick will be on time and go with early closing...
I'm two for two...an egg roll AND a wiggle wiggle ☺
oh boy, latest update from Foots Forcast (cool website, footsforecast.org)
I had my fill of weather statements and snow talk at work!
Lynne - did you see...I had to cancel the appointment you so diligently reminded me of this morning ! ☺
I'm going to start throwing things into a travel bag, think I can get by with pajama bottoms at work...
(well, and some kind of top I guess)
This snowfall is going to be half my height if we get 30" - wish I had snowshoes!
TTFN xo
Some special folks are going to have snowy birthdays and a wedding anniversary in the next few days... ☺
Oh yes, Tomorrow is RED FRIDAY...
RED and WHITE I think
Margy, do ya'll go by NOAA or NWS forecasts...or both
Going to Watch CSI
Frederick County will be the last to make any decision concerning the expected snow........
That's my bet and I am sticking to it!
BBILW
Paula - we get endless printouts on the teletype from NWS - our OES director gets the NOAA ones...
we have a school alert box in the office, it went off for the first time today and then twice later...including one message about two hour delay followed soon by school closure for Berkeley County...it is a VERY LOUD alarm, red flashing lights, and then a printed message.
About knocked us out of our seats !
better snow closing info, than some serious problem at one of the schools, hope we NEVER get any of those kinds of messages...
Margy I am glad you're home...
I haven't read all comments thoroughly
I hope you're not going in to work
until tomorrow.......
BBILW
sure hope to be home to see the eagles in the morning at least, going to head to bed soon now, enjoy what free time I have before the phone rings that it's my time for a shift....
Everyone...be careful, keep the prayers going for safety and warmth for all God's creatures...
xo Good Night
God Bless Us, Every One
xo ☺ ♥
Thanks JO..I'm glad I'm home too !
Home, here with all my friends ♥
Margy, sorry you had to cancel the hair appt.
Getting ready to dent my pillow....please everyone, be careful tomorrow!
Margy - kinda sounds like that alarm at Conowingo, lol
Oh, yes, live view is much better. Guess we'll find out tomorrow night how it is in the snow!
Shirley, if you watch during the night, watch for any restless behavior, butt wiggles, squeals or squawks, and EGG! If it happens, of course, post it and snag some pics!!
Jim, Anne Marie and Andy, please do the same!! If anyone is taking a turn, post it so others coming on know! Sure I'll be up during the night, and I'll spell for an hour or so. I can watch without any fear of penalty between 2-7!
Lynn, how do I know when it is my turn?
I mean, is there a sign-up list, or is it informal, or what?
Bless your little (BIG) heart Shirley...I think it is informal, first night it was formal...waiting on that first egg...if you are are up and watching and see anything, then you just talk about it...likely someone will be on most of the time, and I am drinking lots of water so I will check the nest when I get up ...☺
hope you don't mind my hazarding an opinion....
I know I am not Lynn.... ☺
I forgot I have to take a bath so I guess I am still up...
Eagle up, yawn
Didn't anyone send the sign up list to Shirley ;)
Aw... I agree, totally informal.
Most PA schools near us have gone with early dismissal, thinking we will be the same, unless the storm moves faster than they think overnight.
Shirley I am teasing you...no work tomorrow, you can certainly do night watch, LOL
Really, just hoping that if anyone out there lurking sees anything to please post it!
Nice gently roll and wiggle wiggle
I can do that, Paula.
I see that our eagle is sound asleep. She (or he) needs to rest when they can. They are about to have a difficult time.
It is indeed, Shirley's turn to watch...she fell asleep during her last watch. So she owes us 2:)
Now I am watching the Mentalist - my
cutie guy!
The eagle sleeps tonight
BBILW
Shirley, if you see something interesting...snap pic and post it to your blog. I will move it to Eaglet Momsters Album.
I moved a few for you when you asked a while back.
Wanda
I saw your photos on the Momsters album...yours and everyone else's - very nice !
Bed time for real now...
Good Night again, and
maybe I will "meet some of you at the nest" overnight sometime
xoxo
Wow, didn't know it was that late! Went in to work after lunchtime to finish a job & stayed til I got it all done. Won't have to go in tomorrow (I hope)! Yippee!
Gotta read somke comments~~~~
Right, Margy...nothing formal. Jo put out the call but she and I were the only ones who took a defintie time period Tues. night! Good night, sleep tight, and "be prepared" like a good
Girl Scout---and maybe that way they WON'T call you in!
Hope Judie got through her classes okay. Maybe she had a b-ball game tonight!
Frederick County Bd of Ed will announce school conditions at
5 am Friday .
What have you heard from Washington County?
Yay Lowreeda, glad you get to stay home and play in the snow!
Margy - hope you don't get called in!
Lynn, forgot you sent me that email, just replied
Hi all! Finished another tray of slides while watching Grey's and PP. Also,I had Belle up in a corner of the screen. Laptop worked well even with cam up. Love this puter!
Whoops! Just remembered I did not send out that recipe today. Will do it....I promise!

Hitting the hay...Belle is snoozing...see ya'll in the morning
Hugs to all ♥
Well she was, now she's up
Heard from Pam, Debs' sister. She got a list of donors to Birds of Prey NW, in Debs' honor, so she will be getting thank you notes out soon.
Yippee! Kids got their trip re-scheduled for March! Whew---one less thing to worry about!!
Good night. See you tomorrow. I will check in tonight if I wake up, and I usually do.
Nite Shirley!
Lucky you Hedgie! Worry free except for Belle & Lib!
You can help me worry about my Hedgesville son-in-law. If the
cousin can't get in from FL - maybe the other 3 will cancel.
Megan, Michael James is a member of this crazy snowboarding crew!
Eagle is awake and facing towards 12:00
Just opened your email , Paula...Answered you!
Nice egg roll......... got a pic.
Lolly, are you putting the slides on the laptop?? Pics take up SO MUCH space....
Off to tub I go. BBL.
Okay, Jo, I'll share your worry. I'm, good at it!
BTW---only about 3 hrs. before Tai arrives in China. :(
Yes, putting them on the laptop. Will burn them onto a disc then removed them from the laptop. Have plenty of room on the laptop.
Lynn, emailed you back, but headed to bed now.
Belle facing 7ish.
Nite all!
Head is tucked under wing Sleeping
Hi, Everyone!
About Lily's Cub:
It’s a GIRL! At least until the cub proves us wrong. The video footage captured last night gave us a good look at the cub’s belly and it’s pretty conclusive. The little lump between the legs says ‘female’, and we couldn’t see a lump higher on the belly that would make it a male.
