Costume Lady, It must be fun having a costume store. Do you also sell Civil War Reenactment clothes. My husband is a reenactor.

I call myself ragdoll because I have ragdoll cats. I use to show them. They are my babies. I have ragdolz for my license plate.

Did I read right? Did Belle lay another egg? I got home late so I missed it. Oh, I pray all goes well with this egg.

Prayers for Officer Carrol and family

Ragdoll, are you from MAine? your avatar is great. I would love to go whale watching.

Ragdoll said...

Yes Floragirl. I am from Maine. I am in the kennebunkport area. Whale watching is fun and interesting,

Belle looks very peaceful tonight.

Sharon, so glad Mattie, and all, had such a fun time for her birthday. More wonderful memories to be shared in the years ahead.

Will look up Trego Mountain Sanctuary tomorrow.

Not interested in the NCTC FB page. Prefer my blog family.

When I looked at Savannah today it was a surprise to realize the nest is on the ground, or appears to be. Adaptation is key.

It is time to turn my light off. Leaving the night light on for others. Andy, please set the alarm when you come in. How was the movie?

Pleasant eagle dreams for all. Dreams of more blue sky and sunshine!

I grew up in NH. I have been to Kennebunkport a couple of times. But I have not been to New England for 30 years. I miss it, such a beautiful area.

Ragdoll said...

I have lived in Maine all my life. I like it, but as I get "more mature" The winters seem to me longer.

Ragdoll said...

I am not complaining about our winter this year. You guys have been getting slammed. I have felt so sad for you all.

floralgirl said...

Yep, my parents left to escape the long, harsh winters.

My fingers are broken. Darn those fingers! I meant New Hampshire

floralgirl said...

Don't know why, Hedgie.
I lived in New Durham, very small town near Rochester, about 30 minutes from Portsmouth.

Ragdoll said...

Have been to New Durham. Portsmouth is about 35 mins. from me.

floralgirl said...

Small world. I love that whole area. Hope to get back up there to visit one day. Still have friends up there.

Mema Jo said...

Ragdoll This is one reason we love this blog family -- Sooner or later we find out things that make us have ties!

Ragdoll said...

We have property up at Sugarloaf area. We are going to put it up for sale. Want to move south in the winters. We may rethink that idea after the week that just past.

Ragdoll said...

Hi Mema Jo, Glad to meet you. It's amazing how small our world is.

hedgie said...

Good night, Jo, and everyone else! Reading papers all day has "slam wore me out" as Sissy would say!

Prayers for all and for peace.

floralgirl said...

Nite Jo:)
oh, in the White Mountains, used to love to go there.
The snow is crazy this year here.

stronghunter said...

Goodnight, Jo.

Ragdoll said...

I love the White Mountains also. Sugarloaf is further north. Big skiing area. Lots of hiking. We have cut down on both. Your winter has been worst then ours.

floralgirl said...

Okay further North I know I've heard of it before, been a long time. My friends in NH keep rubbing it in that we are getting their snow. I liked snow better when I was a kid, at this point, it's too much work.

Ragdoll said...

Well, goodnight to all. Going upstairs. My cats are starring at me and tapping their feet. Orders have been give. Have a busy day tomorrow. Going north ( about 3 hours drive) to visit children and Grand babies. Good Times!

Prayers for Lib and Belle and All.

I see from Larada that the famous or infamous GARLAND is still floating (flying) around! If that is what killed Judie's washer, there could be a lawsuit in the works...that would pay for the new washer:) Wonder if Judie burried the washer deep in the woods where the bears live?

What a wonderful, thoughtful, sweet gift Jubby gave Helen! Jay, that was GENIOUS on your part!

Lynn or Margy, would the injured officer be related to the late BUZZ CARROLL?

Portsmouth...AHHH, that is where I had my first genuine MAINE LOBSTER. It was a dream come true for me. Wanted to have one in Maine for MANY years:)

Margy, been missing you on here. Will be glad when you have a day off so you can watch the new egg with us:)

GOOD NIGHT DEAR FRIENDS & NEW FRIENDS
SLEEP WELL
PRAYERS FOR ALL

Got a strange message from Lily. Judie has been spotted in the Minnesota woods whit a shovel and a dead washer. Check my blog.

Good night dear friends. God bless.

Lolly said...

ROFLMBO Shirley, that is too funny! Wonder if Lily has decorated her den with the garland. She liked the rubberband, bet she was thrilled with the garland. Judie may be draging the washer to Minn, deep in the woods, but bet Lily is really not interested in it.

A very late Good Evening, Everyone!

Didn't get here as early as I had hoped. Had to go take care of Sis-in-law's bulldogs, so had a later dinner than originally planned. Then fell asleep in front of the TV again.

Haven't caught up on the blog--have all next week off from school, and it may take that long to read everything. We're planning on spending Monday with Sis-in-law, who's got the day off. (Hubby does too.) She wants to drive to an outlet mall near Palm Springs. If we go, we'll have to swing by the desert house to check on it, and to pick up mail from the P.O. box. Should keep us busy.

We saw 'Valentines Day' today, and it was very enjoyable.

Lynn, prayers continue for your friends! Glad to hear that Rick is better!

I'm not interested in the FB page for NCTC. Like it here far too much, and just plain don't have time!

Oh, my gosh! Did Belle lay another egg today? Don't know what to think at this point! Hope there's not too much extreme weather in the near future! Dare we hope?

Welcome to the newcomers on the blog today! Nice to have you here!

Well, getting kinda tired, so will leave the night light on. The porch light is automatic, and the eye scanner security is enabled. Hope everyone sleeps tight. Prayers said for everybody. Sweet dreams, and I'll talk to you tomorrow morning (after going and feeding Sis-in-law's bulldogs). God bless and goodnight! Love all you guys! :o]

Has anyone seen the 2 eagles on the nest at the same time. I did at first but can't seem to catch that now. Maybe I am not watching enough. One thing I found peculiar was that during the storm when both eagles were there, the female was off the egg quite a bit. Now she seems to be on it most of the time. I cannot tell them apart ever.

♥♥♥HAPPY VALENTINES DAY♥♥♥

Good morning, everyone.

*&%#$@ I just knew it. Lily said if I gave her the shiny garland she would use it to decorate the den for the baby AND she would not bear witness about where the evidence is hidden. Never trust a black bear!

I actually got home very quickly. Met an EMT guy who gave me a cool pair of snow shoes made of sticks and white pine. He was out looking for a shiny garland -- said I had no clue.

Shirley, thanks so much. What a fun picture to start the day.

Now for coffee and news.

hedgie said...

phyfly. unless I missed it I think i am the only one who has shared on here anyway the thought that both eggs might be after the last blizzard. I think most if not everyone else thinks one is the 3rd unviable egg and the other is a 4th egg for this clutch. I may have seen a comment that perhaps there is an old egg and egg one of a new clutch. Are you confused yet ? LOL

Not much doubt though that we see her sitting on 2 eggs. We all agree with that one :-)

Hello again evryone! Just signed on and was skimming through posts and to my surprise, it appears Belle has laid another egg! Just wanted to make a quick comment regarding a few of the remarks I saw posted. In my opinion, it is highly doubtful that this new egg is the start of a second clutch. All the pairs that we have seen re-clutch generally take a few weeks for their "system" to reset. I think it is much more likely, however AMAZING, that this new egg represents the 4th egg in the original clutch! VERY, VERY rare! Awesome news for you all! Hope the weather settles down now and is a little less brutal for Belle and Lib! Congrats to you all. You all always remind me of soon-to-be grand parents with all your excitement, LOL!

By the way, I really hope I am wrong and this is the start of a second clutch! With this pair, nothing would surprise me! Fingers crossed!

Gotta go. Goood-bye all!

aNOTHER EGG!!??

Has Liberty 'warmed up' to this one??

I don't recall if I commented, but I was wondering after the loss of the first two if it is possible for eagles to extend the number in the clutch to compensate for eggs lost early in the series.

Don't know, but it might be that.

The clutch idea is certainly interesting. After TJ's post, it certainly gave me a lot of questions about it too!

Wanda, you commented about the birdseed on the steps giving me some traction there. I was afraid to find out. It looked too dangerous.

Kitty Litter is good traction BUT
I wouldn't take a chance to prove it!

Jim - I still think that I would SINK but I agree with you about the snowshoes purpose.

Incubation time is slow isn't it. Not too much going on until they take turns and eat.

Belle and Lib are focused on their duty. Did you see him push the one egg right next to the other? Touching.

Jim, I've never tried snow shoes, so don't know----just going by what person in paper article said.

Thanks, Megan, for update. Sounds better than what we heard last night from Margy! Prayers for his quick recovery.

Article in todays Herald print edition about an off-duty local officer who saved a young lady's life in an accident in early Dec. She's alive, but not a good outcome for her. So sad.

Does anyone have pics of the new egg or of Liberty incubating it??

I'm still having troubles getting it through my head that this is a new egg.

Don't get the Herald, Hedgie.
What was the sadness of the young woman.

I bought some of that expensive ice melt that is supposed to be safe for pets and lawns, and we have been using that conservatively, but I left it to Will and Hunter to get the ice off of those back steps.

The skies are icy blue - beautiful.
The wind makes it sound colder than it is..not that it isn't cold.

BWE is getting a large dry spot around the egg cup.

By the way, there is no indication of what caused the mosquito net effect of last night. Even enlarging the view didn't offer a good reason for it.

There's a white dot in front of the eagles upper left wing. Was that an older egg?

floralgirl said...

Egg roll, not a great glimpse, but think I saw both eggs. That looks like a snow ball in front of her.

BEagle said...

what do they do with the old eggs?

floralgirl said...

I think it would just stay in the nest until it got broken or kind of dried up, Some birds throw old eggs out of the nest, not sure eagles do that.

Old non-viable eggs - usually stay in the nest.. Once there was an egg in a nest that the hatched eaglet (Eggbert)fledged and the old egg was still there.

I see the white spot but even at full screen I can't be certain if it is an egg or a snowball. I'll go for the snowball.

This is a new experience for all of us as to what we are seeing. Most of us are guessing but next season we'll be able to talk about it with a bit more knowledge. You know - Live & Learn
