When I posted that last message I got the confict notice, so I hit the refresh and then it asks if I want to try to post again. Guess it posted the first time...and then a second time. Oh, well, spread the sunshine around!
Eggcited - Blackwater eagles should be good to go.. They too have been through this before. Remember that their cam goes down at 10:00 and comes back up again around 2:00am I think.
I am losing my mind Jo, I had to use advanced upload and the two are back on (out of order of course now) and now I can see the pics from 2/4 and earlier 2/5 that had red x's before. Did someone do some magic?
Jo, yes there is activity in the nest. My daughter checks it every day as she drives by! Of course we cannot see any eggs but she does see both of them at the nest. We are very excited.
Jack Hanna on Letterman tonight....but Ch. 9 is running news until MN, so don't know whether it will be on or not. I'll DVR it on west coast, just hope that satellite will be okay at 2:30. I'll have to make a trip out to clean it off right before I go to bed.
All this bad weather is rather nervewracking. I hope the eagles everywhere keep the eggs warm. I guess it might be worse if we had newly hatched eaglets. My Mom keeps hearing the weather on the television from Pittsburgh and forgets we are 75+ miles north, almost at I80. We've only had about 3 inches. I hope ya'll stay home and safe tonight and tomorrow.
Margy, forgot to say earlier when you posted about your nephew being at Washington University---when I was diagnosed, I already had vacation scheduled to go to St. L the week mom moved there. So doc at work set me up with top specialist there at the university/Barnes Jewish Hospital. That was where I had my biopsy done. Would have had surgery there, too, if it had been operable.
Thanks, Lisa, for posting our news and my pic!!! Thanks, Jo, for sending it to her! Margy, hope they don't call you in. Another wreck on 81. Transformer fires. If you are like me, you won't sleep well at all, but please try!!
Jo, they just said on news that unless a guy is a teenager, he shouldn't try to use a snowblower in this heavy snow. Too much exertion!! Pass it on to Mr. Ed!
I hear you Lynn and I'll pass it on. I'm thinking that son will come over tomorrow. He has the blower on his riding tractor and can haul it in his truck over here.
They just showed Chinese Tai fans at the airport carrying welcome placards! That's a nice, heartwarming sight!
Going to take my bath. Will check back in later. Need to load up the stove, and clean off dishes again, too, so I may be awhile. Will say goodnight to any turning in. Prayers for safety, warmth, healing, and peace.
Lights flickering here... either a transformer blew somewhere or we are having lighting. Many bright flashes in the sky for a little. Snow is coming down easily 2" to 3" an hour. I've never seen it snowing so hard.
Megan, when I just looke at the weatherunderground, com, radr for my area, there are at least a dozen thunderstorms, not like in the summer, there echo tops are only 1,000 feet
OK, Mits. Scared the heck out of us, sky lit up several times. Headed back out, hubby is out there by himself. Hoping the lights stay on, that will be a whole new kinda hell if we lose power.
oh Megan, be careful....I was just out...it's like fighting a loosing battle. I was out for 40 minutes and at least another inch or so fell. We now have about 8 or 9...
I see it is almost impossible to see Belle tonight, so we will have to wait to see in the morning light if she has laid her second egg...
I'm betting she has, since she has laid 3 eggs every year of the 5 or 6 that they have been on-camera.
As for why we can't see at night, in case you didn't figure it out, is that big white trunk in the picture. Just like on your 35 mm or digital camera, the automatic exposure figures a preprogrammed "average" and then opens or closes the iris in the lens to produce the proper exposure. But with a large white thing in the pic, like the trunk, the exposure "average" is thrown way off, the iris closes more than desirable, less light enters the lens, and 'look at that, it's too dark to see Belle!'
That black tape, whatever the tree climbers put it there for, usually helps keep the night exposure of camera in a reasonable range, and we are able to see the nest pretty well.
I've never ever heard the Red Cross say prepare to stay in place for 3 days. I can do tnat, snuggle up under my wonderful eagle blanket and watch the birds, Our wonderful neighbors are shoveling every few hours. Megan and all others, I hope you find help and strength to get you safely through this "historic" weather event. Good night and blessings to all.
Okay, got to see Jack Hanna!! He had 2 baby Lily's!!! 6 wks. old. A zoo had "imported" a female black bear. Unknown to them she was pregnant and delivered the cubs on the cold concrete. They are being hand-raised. Precious.....with all those cute noises that Lily's baby makes amplified x 10!!!
Also learned that of the 17 species of penquins, only 5 are cold-weather birds. The others are African and South American. That answers someone's (Dana or Norma, maybe?) question about why the penquins weren't out at the zoo!!!
Jim, what a logical explanation about the cam! Thank you. Makes perfect sense.
I've heard thundersnow a few times this evening.
Well, my dear fowl friends, I will see you in the morning. Will check cam if (when!) I get up during the night, but probably won't be able to see much.
Andy never checked in tonight....hope all is well with her.
Power has gone off 4 times, but so far come back on quickly. Snow still coming down about 2-3" an hour. I hate snow and my back hates snow and back out we go....
Well, I am back, showered and ready for bed. Belle is awake. She must have shaken the snow off recently. She is facing the cam. that is why I can tell her head is up. Snow is falling heavier than earlier.
I was reading some comments by Magpie and others about the necessary resources for viewing the live feed ... smoothly, continuously. So, I read the notes she was talking about.
It requires 'minimum' speeds of 'Internet access' (1000 MHz or 1 Gigahertz) and computer 'processor' (also 1 Gigahertz). The RAM, or Random Access Memory, 'minimum' requirement is listed at 1 Gigabyte.
That's just for watching this one cam though. Don't forget most of us watch several cams, plus a lot of other sites for various reasons. So, I would say you should have 1 1/2 to 2 times the listed minimums for happy computering in the way we do it.
If your computer is upgradeable as far as memory, your are lucky because the price of RAM has come way down, and you can get a good price either at your local geek shop or on-line. Just make sure you know the type and speed of RAM your computer uses and that you match it. The brand shouldn't matter if you stay with the good stuff.
It's good if you have your manufacturers manual, because they usually give you that info and show you how to install your new RAM. Like brain surgery, it's very easy once you know how.... hahaha.
If your computer is too old to upgrade (5 years, or not enough RAM slots, usually. After about 5, fans and hard drives 'might' go), and you can get the cash, you are also in luck. Prices are low now owing to the Recession-Depression. [:~D]
But if you buy one of the new ones, try to get a much faster processor and much larger RAM capacity than the minimums above.
Sorry to be checking in so very late! Have been trying to read some of the blog. Hope all of you back east are safe and warm! Can't really see Belle on the nest, so guess I will have to wait until daylight. Pray that she and Lib and the egg are OK. God bless them!
Was very, very busy today running all over town running errands and paying bills. Less to do tomorrow. It's still raining here, but not really hard--just slow and steady. Supposed to rain again late tomorrow. Wish you guys would get a break in the snowfall!
Feeling pretty tired, so will go watch TV and wind down. The night light is on, the porch light is automatic, and the eye scanner is set. Prayers for everyone for safety and warmth! Talk to you in the morning light. Good night! Love you guys! :o]
Made it back.. I did check on Belle using lap top can move screen and barely make her out setting there God Bless her.. Just looked out kitchen window must be foot n 1/2 on my car already.. The winds blowin and had some snow drop heavy off trees and make noise.. Also elecrtic went out for minute have candles lite.. Gona be along night like they say " It Aint Over Til Its Over" and this isnt going to be over til saturday night :((
Going to watch tv last check on Belle for awhile she is really trying to protect her egg.. The morning light will hopefully bring her still doing as well as she can .. Niters, Nilla
Last check for alittle while.. Belle is free of snow she musta shakin it off of her.. she is facing 9 oclock position.. Snow seems to have slowed down alittle still high winds expected to last..I am wrong now see snowing on cam she looks like her heads in her wing tucked.. Here at home heavy snow has been dropping off trees and making aracket.. Spike thinks the cats are on the roof..lol Well 3:30am and i have crops to harvest on FB Farmville...haha dont asked...lol
I got up around 5am to check in on our nest and didn't see a thing and still can't. Jim's explanation of the brightness against the snow making it impossible to see made me feel better. I couldn't watch last night, I felt so bad for Belle and Lib, but it got the best of me this am.
I hope that all of you out there in the blizzard conditions are staying warm and lights are still on. We just are still having rain here on the Outer Banks. You all stay safe and warm.
I agree but i am on lap top and able to move screen to where i can see her.. when i last looked she was not covered in alot of snow but we are having heavy snow right now continuing til tonight.. I added on FB that i hope with the morning light brings Liberty in with food for Belle.. I am finally going to lay down awhile hopefully to get some sleep as i dont sleep very well these days..
Still have electric for now it did go out a minute or so.. Just heard aloud thud outside wind is blowing and heavy snow thudding to ground off trees n roof.. Dont think ill get much sleep..
Good morning everyone! Snowing like crazy here in Bluefield on top of our 4-5" of sleet and freezing rain. So hard to watch Belle this morning, can hardly even tell where she is. I had to just shut it down last night and walk away. Mother nature is a powerful thing and there is nothing we can do but stand by and pray. Tom went to work, just called and said he got there okay, never saw another vehicle on the road at all. Prayers for all out in this mess!
Last check cant see anything but the glare in nest.. Really going to lay down but with every thud n bump of heavy snow n wind its hard.. Lord keep OUR Belle safe and Liberty.. Amen
After this storm I never want to hear the word snow again. Still snowing here- so lucky we still have power, it has gone off so many times I've lost count.
Bev, I have no idea, we have so much snow it's unreal. At least 2 ft, I guess. Looks like I have to head back out and get the snow off the gh one more time. Hubby is sleeping and I can't bear to wake him, we have only had 3 hours sleep.
Bless your hearts, wish I was there to help you. We are getting snow now, had about 4-5 inches of sleet and ice and supposed to snow all day. Just awful, I am not kidding! Love and hugs!!!!
Honestly, no I haven't had the cam up since around 10 pm. Hubby said he couldn't bear to watch it anymore, so I closed it for a while and then just never opened it back up.
I opened the live feed, but of course you can't see anything. It'll be light very soon. Gonna head outside, have to shovel my way out the door. Got too much snow on peak of gh, need to remove it.
I reckon we have at least 2 feet here, so hard to tell because it's blowing some. My little birds out here have just started at the feeder...I've never seen so many at once!
Daisy is so bewildered. Thank God I shoveled so much last night...there's still so much out on the patio though she didn't know what to do....it's gonna be a long day for everyone. The storm is stalled at the moment so we can expect snow most of the day, the news just said, before it can pull out later.
Glad Tom got to work OK, prayers for safe return, too!
I am wondering how NILLA could see Belle at 3am...I could see NOTHING! Maybe I need to adjust the brightness and contrast on this 'puter. Good to hear her report!
Morning Everyone. Looked at cam an hour ago & couldn't hardly see nest at all. Now it looks like addult did a shake off---looking pretty good. Wonder if Eggbert will manage! Our friends & some of their kin in Paw Paw have had no power since midnight. They do have stoves. Now everything East of DC is in the blizzard zone!
Morning all, just checking in from over in WI. Glad to see the eagles instinctively know what to do in all this snow. Have learned so much observing the cam & the blog. My question is: How will they find food to eat with all the accumulating snow?"
My Live feed started, but then went to 00.00, so got up Still & got a bird picture! BTW, been forgetting to tell that a Park Ranger said they have seen a peregrine falcon in Upper Marlboro. Their office is at Rte. 4& 301 t Equestrian Ctr. Any who have been to Park probably went to that intersection.
Happy Birthday Sandra!!!! Many, many more!!! Morning all. Glad to see ya this morning. I have been suffering alone for a while, till Megan got up and said hey before she had to go out and clean off her GH once again. It is really coming down here right now but nothing like what is up there at the nest. We probably have 3 inches of snow on top of 4-5 inches of sleet and ice. What a mess!!!
Wow! At least 20" of snow, I don't even care for an exact total. Poor birds want me to feed them, shoveled out the feed area, but snow will cover it quick. Snowing pretty hard again now. Think I will make hubby an egg sandwich while the power is still on. Nice to finally be able to see the nest.
don't understand why I can't get live feed anymore, or only for a few seconds, the only problem I had before was it slowing things down, and when it was up was the only cam I tried to watch...guees what I did yesterday sped it up for awhile.
same here Mits...does your computer have enough memory like mine does not....the specs are listed on the home page for live feed. I finally got about 12 seconds last night, am about to try it now... but mainly I am donating my bandwidth to others and watching their reports
HOW ARE THE M&M GIRLS, BENJAMIN AND KEVIN AND ANNIE ALSO MM AND CEIL
I have to put the live feed on my my laptop. Oops, just went out and came back. Can't hardly do anything else when it is up. I am just grateful to have the laptop to watch while I work.
I am so very very grateful for a warm house this morning. Watching the redbirds out here going crazy. There is food in the feeders but they want more!!!!
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!---I can't estimate as to how much SNOW we have!!---Still coming down!!---Electric flicked off & back on last nite--I just saw a bird on top of the snow on top of the feeder--& it SLID down the side on it's tail!!---FUNNY!--but it hasn't stopped snowing since about 10:00 or so yesterday am!!----WVNPR predicting more SNOW for the EASTERN PANHANDLE today!!---LAST TIME I CAN REMEMBER OUR HAVING THIS MUCH SNOW WAS in the 1980s!! -SISSY--I am keeping your family's new baby in mind---maybe they should name her 'STORM'!--ho!---GOD BLESS!!
Margy, I am technically inept, have not a clue what Jim was talking about last night, sorry I fooled with it yesterday, don't know or really undersatnd anything about RAM, LT is about 6 yrs old I think.
Good morning all. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SANDRA. I was afraid to open the cams this morning. So far so good. We have a line down in our back alley. Think it is a phone line. Not going near it. Jack Hanna was on the David Letterman show last night. Never watch it but wanted to see Hanna. He had on baby black bears six weeks old. He said that the mother gives birth while asleep and I was saying you are wrong. He also had an owl monkey and a few unusal animals. BBL Megan hope this stops soon. Sorry I have been so long
Good to see everyone! Wow, poor Belle, I think she is hungry. It's really windy there...not so much here, at least at the moment. Only some gusts now and then. I'm going to suit up and shovel...BBL
Looks like snow has let up some or small flakes,as Belle isn't getting covered so much. Our flakes are mixed, but all the pretty coating on trees yesterday evening is gone~~~weight or wind.
Turning it back off. Glad to have seen them both this morning though. That makes me feel a little better that I know they are both OK. Possibly some HP. They are still working on that family. They role with this stuff better than we do it is my guess.
Note to Nilla: chick # 2 or 3, if they happen, may get the storm monikers, but #1 is going to be named in memory of our Deb!
Was up around 5---dishes covered, so no satellite TV or internet. Made the hike out to clean off a little while ago, so okay now. Weight of the snow on the flag pulled the pole right out of the bracket---had to take it down: it was hanging down below deck which made it easy to get.
Can't believe what it's like out there. I've given up on decks...what difference does it make? No place to go. Know there won't be any papers or mail!
I think they switched but what happened just a few minutes ago was one got up, yawning and stretching, flew to this side of the nest and took off. Then either the other, or maybe the same one after a short fly? came in. Didn't see both at the same time in the nest. Now no one is there :(
I am so grateful they are okay. I had doubts a couple of times last night whether anyone could survive that storm. They will move forward and I am so glad for that. Eagle love in the snow--how romantic!!
News interviewing some poor lady who flew in from La Jolla CA Thurs. to house hunt (sounds like a job transfer). She is definitely having second thoughts!
Poor Meggy---are you okay?? Bless Russ' heart that he couldn't watch Belle anymore. Hope YOU eat one of those egg sandwiches, too---you need the fuel! Think I will fix the same thing in a little while---sounds good.
Margy---several EMS calls coming through---God bless all those needing them, but those who must respond, as well. Police are having a tough time motoring.
Lynne, I saw Belle get up and shake off the snow. Then she flew out the right side, and a second or so later Liberty landed from the left side. That's as close to 'together' as I've seen this morning.
There was just no way for them to deal with this much snow. Coming down so fast, and it is snowing really hard again here. We may end up with 30" at this rate.
I'm fairly confused as to why they are still "incubating"; but it just occurred to me that Belle is readying to lay at least one more egg, and I'm thinking they are trying to keep the snow from building up in the egg cup so they will have someplace to put the other eggs.
Lib and Belle are NOT giving up and we shouldn't either. Maybe little Eggbert is still OK...if not, Belle has more Eggberts stored away:) Think I should go to the nest and throw a couple of salmon up there. Better still, there is a stream over the hill from our house that has trout. Lib & Belle (I think it is them) come up and partake of that delicasy every once in a while. We have seen them while passing by on our way to Food Lion. Gene saw an eagle a few days ago, flying through our woods. So quickly, no time for a photo.
Hi Eagle People!!! Have just been watching a little these last couple of days,do you folks with knowledge of these situations think that everything is allright with the egg?
I don't think this egg is viable. I think Belle will continue to incubate, as she is now. She knows that egg is in there, and maybe it is on top of the snow and we can't see it. If the egg stays whole, I think she will stay there. She also probably has more eggs to lay.
Good morning everybody. Looked at a still shot but don't think I need to torture myself like that anymore. I have to find acceptance of "it is what it is" but I certainly don't like it!
She is still going to instinctively protect the egg and her egg cup from the elements. I didn't see her do an egg roll, she just placed herself and tented.
MORNIN' ELKINS BILL!---No things aren't going well with the egg!---Understand the EAGLES aren't sure the exact location of the EGG NEST---in all this snow!

WHOO HOO I see our eagle

Fien time for a refresh...poor thing, she was tring to move snow out of the way with her butt
Belle shook off the snow and I missed it. Oh, I see her! She has her wings wide spread. Bless her!
tucked back in now!
She is now facing 10ish
I think we were all waiting for that.
Wow! If I wouldn't have had Live Feed
up I think vision wise I would have missed it! Wasn't that great!
I can't see anything now..... BUT
I'm sure she'll be there in the am.
Jo, thank you for that. I had forgotten about the camera shutting down. Guess I am in worry mode tonight about our birds and people!
Belle must have recently shaken off the snow. She doesn't look too covered at the moment.
Eggcited are you still with us or did we split on you!
Every 200 it flips to a new page....
LOL! No, i hung in there for the split! Thank you for being concerned.
Eggcited, it's Suz, isn't it? I forgot about Blackwater cam stopping too.
CHOO CHOO BABY!
I am losing my mind
Jo, I had to use advanced upload and the two are back on (out of order of course now) and now I can see the pics from 2/4 and earlier 2/5 that had red x's before.
Did someone do some magic?
I keep going from cam to cam checking on the eagles and then to noaa to check on the weather.
Lines are coming down all over----lots of call on scanner for them. Now a wreck on the interstate.
20 miles from an eagle's nest! WOW!
Have you seen any activity at that nest
Margy - I just think you were looking as maybe I was rearranging or adding.
Lynne, yes i was really getting worried about Blackwater. She had not moved in a while and that last photo was not a changing. So glad I asked!
Been checking in from time to time. It is hard to look at the nest, but I have to know. It is part of being a Momster, I guess.
ok thanks Jo
And thanks Lynn for the scanner news, maybe they'll call me in
:(
watching 25 alive now
HI Eggcited
Thanks for the shake off news folks, I can't do the live feed for nuthin' right now
Jo, yes there is activity in the nest. My daughter checks it every day as she drives by! Of course we cannot see any eggs but she does see both of them at the nest. We are very excited.
Lisa put OUR EGG link now on BWE.
Thanks Lisa !!!
Lynn Hedgie Check out BWE with our news Hope you recognize the pic
have got to call it an evening. Will be thinking of all of you and hoping for continued safety and electricity. And for our feathered friends also.
Above-ground metro trains have stopped running.
Jack Hanna on Letterman tonight....but Ch. 9 is running news until MN, so don't know whether it will be on or not. I'll DVR it on west coast, just hope that satellite will be okay at 2:30. I'll have to make a trip out to clean it off right before I go to bed.
Yes indeedy that's our Hedgie's pic ! BRAVO...think of the hundreds of viewers that will see this Lynn !

Spray your shovel with WD-40 or car wax so that snow slides right off. Wish I'd heard that earlier!! Kept having to knock it off!
guess I better get some sleep in case the phone rings or the beeper goes off
Thanks for all the news and tips and friendship today
Will be checking to see if Nilla has report of her daughter safely getting home...prayers for that, and all our other needs here
God Bless Us, Every One

ok Lynn...that's nice to hear...
I'm over at our nest with all of you in spirit and prayer
Thanks, Lisa, for posting our news and my pic!!! Thanks, Jo, for sending it to her!
Margy, hope they don't call you in.
Another wreck on 81. Transformer fires.
If you are like me, you won't sleep well at all, but please try!!
Jo, they just said on news that unless a guy is a teenager, he shouldn't try to use a snowblower in this heavy snow. Too much exertion!! Pass it on to Mr. Ed!
Congratulations, Lynn! Your picture is making the news. ha!
That is really great that Lisa put the picture up.
Hey Hedgie - Maybe Megan could spray her gh roof with WD-40 and the snow/sleet would slide off...
I hear you Lynn and I'll pass it on.
I'm thinking that son will come over
tomorrow. He has the blower on his riding tractor and can haul it in his truck over here.
Not caught up. Hope everyone is safe and warm.
Goodnight and prayers for our eagles and future eaglets.
yay Lynn!!!
I just put a pic and video of Daisy on my blog.
Steve has gone to bed. I think he is very upset with me because I won't let him shovel snow tonight.
I'm going to go out and hit the snow once more before calling it a night. Hope Megan is resting!
some cool bird pics...
Bird Pics

Good night Judie - glad you popped in!
Good Night Shirley!
Good Night Margie!
Good night to all who are heading for the pillows.
Cute video of Daisy, Lynne. Love to watch dogs in the snow.
They just showed Chinese Tai fans at the airport carrying welcome placards!
That's a nice, heartwarming sight!
Going to take my bath. Will check back in later. Need to load up the stove, and clean off dishes again, too, so I may be awhile. Will say goodnight to any turning in. Prayers for safety, warmth, healing, and peace.
good night everyone, prayers for all. we have had just plain snow here and tons of it. not a pretty sight at the nest.
Good night everyone. See you tomorrow.
God bless.
Lights flickering here... either a transformer blew somewhere or we are having lighting. Many bright flashes in the sky for a little.
Snow is coming down easily 2" to 3" an hour. I've never seen it snowing so hard.
Just viewed the Bird Pics, Lynne
Snowy owl cracked me up - he looks like he is laughing...... Wet one doesn't look so happy!
Take care Megan and all of you!
Heading down the hallway....
I'll face the snow tomorrow
Bet some areas do get that 30
Good Night All
Prayers for All
Stay safe and warm and dry
(((hugs))) ♥ ♥ ♥
Megan, when I just looke at the weatherunderground, com, radr for my area, there are at least a dozen thunderstorms, not like in the summer, there echo tops are only 1,000 feet
OK, Mits. Scared the heck out of us, sky lit up several times. Headed back out, hubby is out there by himself. Hoping the lights stay on, that will be a whole new kinda hell if we lose power.
Nite Jo!
Nite all! I think I am going to shut down and read before heading to bed.
My prayer is for all of you to have electricity in the morning. Megan prayers for you, soak your aching bod! Prayers for Belle and Lib.
Ah, those rare thundersnows! Or Lightening snow?
Happy Birthday Sandra and may your year ahead be filled with all good things
Can still see Belle's outline in the nest.
shutting down for tonight, see you in the morning. Hope everyone keeps power.
Pray our little egg and eagles are OK.
Hugs to all ♥
oh Megan, be careful....I was just out...it's like fighting a loosing battle. I was out for 40 minutes and at least another inch or so fell. We now have about 8 or 9...

I can stay comfy for 3 days Sandy! As long as the electric stays on!
thanks Jim, good explanation!
I'm off to the shower now...I'll check back, I think, before I go to bed...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR SANDRA.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!
May you have many more!!
Goodnight.
Oh, Megan!! Sure wish it would stop!!

Hi, Everyone!
Gona be along night like they say " It Aint Over Til Its Over" and this isnt going to be over til saturday night :((
Heading to bed. One last peek at Belle. Looks like her head is still up, hard to tell!
See ya in the morn.
Will read your post in morn, Jim. Too tired to read it through. However, I am on a fairly new laptop and have no problem.
Passing through. I see Belle there in the snow.
Going to watch tv last check on Belle for awhile she is really trying to protect her egg.. The morning light will hopefully bring her still doing as well as she can .. Niters, Nilla

No mas!
Amen
If this egg survives this mess it should be named Snowstorm or Snowy..lol
After this storm I never want to hear the word snow again.
Still snowing here- so lucky we still have power, it has gone off so many times I've lost count.
Good morning Megan! Glad to see you are still kicking! This is just awful. How much do ya'll have?
Bev, I have no idea, we have so much snow it's unreal. At least 2 ft, I guess. Looks like I have to head back out and get the snow off the gh one more time. Hubby is sleeping and I can't bear to wake him, we have only had 3 hours sleep.
Bless your hearts, wish I was there to help you. We are getting snow now, had about 4-5 inches of sleet and ice and supposed to snow all day. Just awful, I am not kidding! Love and hugs!!!!
Oh, that just sucks. We had some sleet and rain last night, just snow now.
Have you seen our eagles? I can't see signs of them at all right now. Just grieves me so!!
Honestly, no I haven't had the cam up since around 10 pm. Hubby said he couldn't bear to watch it anymore, so I closed it for a while and then just never opened it back up.
I shut it down last night too but have been watching since I started work at a little after 5 with no signs. Wish daylight would hurry and get here!!!
I opened the live feed, but of course you can't see anything. It'll be light very soon. Gonna head outside, have to shovel my way out the door. Got too much snow on peak of gh, need to remove it.
BE careful Megan!!
Oh wow, there is one of our eagles!!! So glad to see them. Still protecting that egg!!
Now, THAT is a sight for sore eyes! Been looking all morning for signs of life!!!
I see her! She must have just had a shake off.
GOOD MORNING SISSY...
I just saw that beautiful sight too! Hooray for Belle!
Now, I wonder if there is another egg. It will probably be a day or two before we find out.
Lynne, try to get a video of Daisy in the snow, when you can. I enjoyed the one of her running around in circles in your yard:)
Megan, dear girl, I'm sorry you have to run out in this snow. Hopefully it will pay off for you in the Spring and Summer:)
Happy Birthday to Sandra....a very snowy day...hope this is a wonderful birthday with warmth and magic. We Love You....xo ☺ ♥
Morning all, just checking in from over in WI. Glad to see the eagles instinctively know what to do in all this snow. Have learned so much observing the cam & the blog. My question is: How will they find food to eat with all the accumulating snow?"
Good to see that Belle has shaken off and also the eagle at BWE...
Good Morning Everyone...
Love you and Be Careful....
Special hugs and prayers for Megan and her family....
Good Morning Schicke...
the Potomac River is nearby, and it is not frozen...should be food there...
Welcome and hello to you from Wisconsin
My Live feed started, but then went to 00.00, so got up Still & got a bird picture!
BTW, been forgetting to tell that a Park Ranger said they have seen a peregrine falcon in Upper Marlboro. Their office is at Rte. 4& 301 t Equestrian Ctr. Any who have been to Park probably went to that intersection.
Jm
thanks for your technical information regarding still and live cams
If anyone hasn't noticied, the pic which Hedgie took, is featured on the link on the BWE page...regarding our first egg...
CH 4 TV report said that Savage, MD had 37"!!!!
XXXX fingers for Megan & maintenance crew and Sissy's Tom.Too bad he had to go to worrk. Most everything closed here.
good morning everyone, stay safe.
Good morning everyone. Continued hugs and prayers coming your way. SIGH!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR SANDRA:)
GLO, I did get your pic the other day of the first view of the egg, it came to my beach condo address, I use:)

I'm up too early, but I couldn't wait to see how the eagles came through the storm...and to see if we have a second egg yet.

Jim
Norfolk cam down until at least 0930,
Dunedin has sunshine
and Pix Pa is full of snow and little wildlife stirring
Also the weather is bound to affect it at times, that was noted at the beginning of the live cam going live I think...
Good awful snowy morning. Haven't read blog yet, but our Belle looks beautiful! Safe!
OK Hedgie..you have power, are you doing ok?
Margy, I am technically inept, have not a clue what Jim was talking about last night, sorry I fooled with it yesterday, don't know or really undersatnd anything about RAM, LT is about 6 yrs old I think.
everyone is fine, Margy, thanks for asking
Still no word of a baby yet. She was having contractions 3 minutes apart at 9 last night.
Wow, She is out of the cup!! Snow covered cup!!!
Looks like snow has let up some or small flakes,as Belle isn't getting covered so much.
Our flakes are mixed, but all the pretty coating on trees yesterday evening is gone~~~weight or wind.
All that and the cup is full of snow. That breaks my heart!!
uh oh...that egg cup is full of snow
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SANDRA!!!
She acts like she is looking for the egg. Wow!!! This is awful, ya'll!
Oh No~~~where is Eggbert???? ;>(
I don't suppose this is a good thing...
I think he's looking for the egg
I'm gonna cry
That is so sad, she is trying to get snow out of the egg cup.
Good morning.
WOw- trying to get the egg uncovered.
More snow this morning after an inch or so of ice last night on top of the eight inches of snow.
This is sure better than last year. I'm still loving it. I didn't hardly get to enjoy any snow last year.
Bless our eagles. Now I sure don't like seeing all the snow they are getting. It is all going to be okay though.
I think that's Lib
yep sad sad. Its defintely not warm and dry wherever it is BUT its not because they didn't try their very hardest. crying in IL
Did anyone see the switch off?
I think you are right, Paula. This egg is probably not viable now, is it?
yes they switched
Right Glo, I have never seen anything like it. Such dedication and staying there all night in all that snow. So very very sad!!
I can't watch.

WELCOME 'SCNICKE' from WI!!....
CONGRATS & HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDRA!!--you are our #1 EAGLE MOMSTER today & every day!!
Yeah, I am pretty sure Belle was in the nest the better part of the night. Could not even see where she was at all under all that snow.
they certainly tried...and they are still trying, could just hear HP
How awful for them, they are confused about where their egg is
Turning it back off. Glad to have seen them both this morning though. That makes me feel a little better that I know they are both OK. Possibly some HP. They are still working on that family. They role with this stuff better than we do it is my guess.
I saw the changing of the guard, but I didn't see the bottom of the egg cup or the egg either....
Liberty is acting like all is well though....???

Jim
Note to Nilla: chick # 2 or 3, if they happen, may get the storm monikers, but #1 is going to be named in memory of our Deb!
Was up around 5---dishes covered, so no satellite TV or internet. Made the hike out to clean off a little while ago, so okay now. Weight of the snow on the flag pulled the pole right out of the bracket---had to take it down: it was hanging down below deck which made it easy to get.
Can't believe what it's like out there. I've given up on decks...what difference does it make? No place to go. Know there won't be any papers or mail!
I posted a few pics on my blog of the snow here. The whatever page
Now I'm wondering if I'm 'not seeing' one or two eggs...
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Oh no, she flew away...hope they are not giving up:(
<<<>>>>> Go get some food Lib and Belle.
I think they switched but what happened just a few minutes ago was one got up, yawning and stretching, flew to this side of the nest and took off. Then either the other, or maybe the same one after a short fly? came in. Didn't see both at the same time in the nest. Now no one is there :(
MORNIN' T-BIRD!!--Oh yeah! you can watch!!---
I am so grateful they are okay. I had doubts a couple of times last night whether anyone could survive that storm. They will move forward and I am so glad for that. Eagle love in the snow--how romantic!!
Oh, OK, Liberty has realized that the snow storm has claimed the egg...
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
<<<>>>>> Off to coffee and dog treats.
Jim, I don't think anyone can see the egg, it's down in the snow. RIP little egg :(
well I have hugged ya all twice already. So here is one more HUG not sure why only the brackets posted the first 2 times.
News interviewing some poor lady who flew in from La Jolla CA Thurs. to house hunt (sounds like a job transfer). She is definitely having second thoughts!
Back, belle is looking for the egg
What dedication, she knows her egg is down there...tenting now
Did anyone see both at the same time?
I know Paula. It sure breaks my heart.
Guess she couldn't keep up with the giant snowfall. So sad. Maybe they will try again after this is over??
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
There was just no way for them to deal with this much snow. Coming down so fast, and it is snowing really hard again here. We may end up with 30" at this rate.
Well, I am sad that we lost the egg, but I am so grateful that Lib and Belle are okay. We can have more eggs, can't get another Lib and Belle!!!
Red, I couldn't imagine them not trying again.
that's what I saw too Jim, and I wasn't sure if it was the same one coming back in...I haven't heard too much vocalization.
Oh, my...so sad...she tried so hard to protect it, but with so much snow, it probably just fell into cup everytime she moved. :(
why is Lib still there....is there a chance?
Sissy I agree with you. So glad Lib and Belle are okay.
I'm fairly confused as to why they are still "incubating"; but it just occurred to me that Belle is readying to lay at least one more egg, and I'm thinking they are trying to keep the snow from building up in the egg cup so they will have someplace to put the other eggs.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Good morning. Slept in a bit this morning. Didn't sleep too well last night.
I hope everyone still has power and heat.
Ch. 7 says Martinsburg has 22 inches.
Hi Eagle People!!! Have just been watching a little these last couple of days,do you folks with knowledge of these situations think that everything is allright with the egg?
PAULA -- do you think BELLE will give up this early?
REPORTED!--ROMNEY--has 36 inches!
still snowing.....
Right Wanda! God is in charge! Now if that egg hatches, that will be a miracle absolutely, but I believe in miracles. Heck, I AM a miracle!!!
I don't think this egg is viable. I think Belle will continue to incubate, as she is now. She knows that egg is in there, and maybe it is on top of the snow and we can't see it. If the egg stays whole, I think she will stay there. She also probably has more eggs to lay.
Heading back out to shovel again. I'd cry but it would take too much energy.
Another Split is coming
MORNIN' ELKINS BILL!---No things aren't going well with the egg!---Understand the EAGLES aren't sure the exact location of the EGG NEST---in all this snow!
