Oh before I go Wanda great idea for next year. We will park the eagle express around the corner from my house and it will be the perfect spot. Bring sleeping bags have plenty of floor space. We will figure it out.
Paula, I can't get any Baltimore stations, either. Loretta, were there supposed to be fireworks at National Harbor? Never heard anything about it if so.
Did not sleep good last night. When we went to bed we could not find Annie. Did go to sleep but we both got up during the night to look for her....inside and out. At 5 I woke up and could not go back to sleep, lay there imagining what had happened to her. Got up at 7 and went looking again....there she was on a dining room chair. Grrrrrrr!!! SHE had a good nights sleep!!!!!!!
Have to tell you....last night was fun! I thoroughly enjoyed bringing in the new year with you.
Getting up during the night I did enjoy looking at the moon. It was really special at 7 this morning, almost as bright at the sun...shining in our west facing bedroom window.
Lolly you were looking for your cat. So glad you found her.
Ed's doggie has taken to sleeping not on the counch anymore were Ed always sit/layed with him. He has come into my room to sleep in his doggie car bed and now during the day is here too. He has gotten even so lonely being on the floor. I have his bed up on a box right next to me where it is easy to reach to pet him. He is I'm thinking Happier now being up here with me. His need for being close was even more than I had realized. To Ed yes but not to me. He didn't want me until exactly 1 month to the day that Ed passed. I look at him laying there with a leg out or on his back with belly up and I give a chuckle.
I missed our eagle but I am glad I saw Belle earlier in the nest. Wasn't that bulldog pup adorable? !!! I hope the other dogs don't need to keep snowboarding the entire parade route!
Saw the Tuskegee float. Also saw the Jack Hanna float. Lolly I think it was a golden eagle. Gorgeous. Off to a party that was rescheduled because of the snow.
Norma, I have satellite and I get DC stations, but not Baltimore. Got them off antenna before the digital conversion, and even with the converter box for the antenna, they don't come in. If I could turn the antenna I probably could get them, but SQUIRRELS chewed the wire to the rotor up too high on the tower, and Bill no longer has the nerve to climb up 60 ft. to fix it.
I am mad at the deets. 2 acres (plus all the surrounding land) of woods to paw thru', and they decided to dig in the leaves next to the driveway---and now the leaves are all pulled out in it, mixed in with snow and ice. Trying to undo all of my hard fall work............ARGH!!!!!! Looks like you-know-what.
I brought in the new year by finishing a good book, "The Art of Racing in the Rain" a sad but funny story told in a dog's voice.
I have the kraut and pork roast in the slow cooker, and the blackeyed peas cooking for the Hoppin' John.
Didn't see the parade, but a while ago the tv had one of those ads for Time/Life records of music from the 60's. I think I remembered every song. The price tag a little steep for me though.
HAPPY NEW YEAR'S DAY AFTERNOON TO ALL THE BLOGGERS, STEVE, NCTC FAMILY, POLICE AND FIRE PERSONS, AND, OF COURSE, 911 DISPATCHERS.
Oh dear, two weeks ago Shirley escaped with a purloined Christmas gift and now, disguised as former mayor Sheila, is involved in some dreadful murder. Is she driving the pitpals truck? Was George her lookout? Perhaps George will rat her out if offered kitty treats.
About the teens, fingerprints might help even without prior record -- if found at the house without justification the prints may provide probable cause for search warrant where teens live.
Lolly, so very sorry about the burglary. Just so glad no family members were there or injured. Wonder if the house, neighborhood, had been watched for unoccupied? Lesser charge if caught.
Hi Capt. Gene -- nice to see you aboard!
Did not listen to news this morning. Busy getting good luck dinner started -- greens take forever, ya'll. So, don't know about the fire but the location is only about three miles away.
Dana, I am happy Little Man is staying near you. He also is grieving and needs extra, extra love and attention.
Hey, Jack-----sportscaster was just recalling, after watching a WVU/FSU play----the time that DARRELL GREEN caught TONY DORSETT from behind on an open field run. Remember THAT???? I do!
I am off for a while. Going to go fix my hair. Yep. it is broken. Time to start getting ready to go to Dallas. Also have three pizzas to make but that will not take too long. Jack and I do it together and it goes fairly fast. Will bake them partially here, then finish them up over in Dallas.
BBL Cheering for WV, now you have to cheer for TCU on Monday!☺
When I watch these football games and see the football spinning through the air, I think about Hunter.
A couple of years ago, he wanted me to throw the football to him. I thought I was doing pretty well until he tole me that I had to put a spin on the ball. And, he showed me how to do it. He was probably 7 years old then. I was impressed.
HAPPY NEW YEAR Eagle buddies, Steve at NCTC and others who make the cam possible.
Sure would be nice to see the nest clearly and maybe live - soon?
It sure was fun last night making it to 1000 comments with such good company.
I was able to "skype" with daughter and family around midnight but we were all so tired we just made our wishes to each other and said goodnight.
Sauerkraut is sure smelling good .... now the work begins. Jim just peeled potatoes and will put in the Pillsbury rolls when we mash the potatoes. Should all come together about 5. Expecting oldest son Mike for dinner. Youngest son is back living with us now so 2 more for dinner tonight.
Hi Margy - My earlier comment after checking the album was that Lib and Belle were just too fast. Belle was there when I first signed on but was gone within a second!
SWaw the Tuskegee float w/huge eagle!! That was great! I couldn't find anything on last night w/fireworks. Don't think we can get Balmer either. Lynn, don't think there were any fireworks at Nat'l Harbor but heard they had great decos especially at Gaylord. Thought our birds might visit, but guess they are fixing dinner, which I have to finish~~veggie time, roast almost done.
Don't know if it's been mentioned here but Sydney, Australia put a video of their fireworks display online, and it's really something to see. This was done in Sydney Harbor with the Harbour Bridge as the centerpiece. It's on YouTube, you just have to sit through a short ad. Happy New Year!
Saw some of Sydney on news last night, Lisa. Thanks,

Will and I just finished our dinner--pork roast with black-eyed peas, potatoes, cauliflower and brocolli with butter and garlic and apples with crumb topping. I enjoyed it.
I really wish I could hear Alfalfa - he has to be making a sound - not sure what you call a moose howl. That is what he looks like -howling at the moon.

The harbor fireworks on TV were spectacular! I can imagine the sky was like daytime.
Happy Birthday to Helen's jubby, Jay.
Parades and football is in the air!
Paula, I can't get any Baltimore stations, either. Loretta, were there supposed to be fireworks at National Harbor? Never heard anything about it if so.
Sun is breaking through and the melty drip or drippy melt has begun. Trees look like they have diamonds on the branches! Winds have not started YET!
Our 1036 blog gave me better service than this 214 blog is. I have had to sign out and back in twice.......
Watching parade and awaiting gd to arrive for a visit. They are traveling from Harrisburg so roads should be great!
Good morning and Happy New Year! 2010 Wow!

THERE IS THE EAGLE PAULA
Beautiful eagle on Rose Parade float now.
Paula said earlier to watch for it.
Hope she got to see it too.
Just turned it on and there it was.
Beautiful Eagle float... Mayor's award
saluting all those veterans....
Look at those Talons!
Looked back and saw Paula's message.
Lolly you were looking for your cat. So glad you found her.

To Ed yes but not to me. He didn't want me until exactly 1 month to the day that Ed passed. I look at him laying there with a leg out or on his back with belly up and I give a chuckle.
HOPE you all saw the float with the 'BEAUTIFUL EAGLE'--- on the float with the---TUSKEGEE FIGHTERS PILOTS from ALABAMA!
THAT WAS SOME EAGLE!!----THEY WERE SOME SPECIAL FIGHTER PILOTS TOO!!!
Good that you have gotten Ed's doggie to move, Dana, and that you two have each other.
love the DOGS!
Just watched the snow boarding dogs! So cute!
ALWAYS wanted to go to the ROSE BOWL parade & go behind the scenes to see how the floats are made!!!!
Saw the bald eagle float, but also saw a live eagle on another float. Did not hear what kind of eagle it was.
Yes, Norma, it would be very interesting to see.
Eagle
With LOTS of flowers, Norma!!! There are rules about it.
EAGLE IN OUR NEST!
Nice to see an eagle for my first time this year!
POOF
DARN---MISSED IT!
HEDGIE!--Back when I was wanting to go---I don't think they even had cars---ho!!!!!
WISH I COULD BE A CALIFORNIA GIRL!!
I missed our eagle but I am glad I saw Belle earlier in the nest.
Wasn't that bulldog pup adorable? !!!
I hope the other dogs don't need to keep snowboarding the entire parade route!
JO!---I think the DOGS love doing that!!---
HEDGIE---Are you on cable?---Don't you get several DC stations!?---
CHINA FLOAT going by!!--WHERE ARE THE PANDAS???
I sure hope they love it, Norma. They need to give them a treat every now & then.... maybe they are..
Saw the Tuskegee float. Also saw the Jack Hanna float. Lolly I think it was a golden eagle. Gorgeous. Off to a party that was rescheduled because of the snow.
Norma China float had a flowered panda.
Somebody's at the Snowman cam.
Norma, I have satellite and I get DC stations, but not Baltimore. Got them off antenna before the digital conversion, and even with the converter box for the antenna, they don't come in. If I could turn the antenna I probably could get them, but SQUIRRELS chewed the wire to the rotor up too high on the tower, and Bill no longer has the nerve to climb up 60 ft. to fix it.
Missing man formation naval flyover!
Love it!! Guess that is the finale. Almost game time.
HEDGIE!!---I understand how you feel----Ask around & maybe you can find someone that can help you!!--These young kids can do anything!!!
GGGGOOOOOOOOOO! EEEEEEEEEERRRRS!
That was a beautiful as usual Parade. I too thought with Jack Hanna it might have been a golden eagle.
Ceil have a good time...keep safe in case of ice.
Back in the day of Woody Hayes, we lived in Columbus. That was an exciting time for OSU football.
WHOA!!---HOW ABOUT THE FEMALE
MOUNTAINEER??????
HEY! SHIRLEY!---I REMEMBER 'WOODY HAYES'----HE LOVED TO THROW CHAIRS! ho!
He threw punches, too. At the press.
Go Mountaineers
They say he desroyed lots of wristwatches. He ripped them off and threw them.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my eagle watching friends.

Hope everyone has a great day
Lynn, sorry about the deet mess.
Well that was fast. Good thing I remembered to turnt he game on at the start.
Guess they are looking for some of that corn, Lynn.
Ha, Shirley....they aren't even close! But lots of acorns under there!
Granny, you can download almost all of those original songs off of iTunes for under a $ each!!!
I forgot about itunes, but I don't have an ipod and am very tech challenged. I'm lucky to be able to post here LOL

Off to read for awhile.
Hey, Jack-----sportscaster was just recalling, after watching a WVU/FSU play----the time that DARRELL GREEN caught TONY DORSETT from behind on an open field run. Remember THAT???? I do!
Just for fun I posted pictures of
Annie on Family Pics.
Yes, he remembers that. He is watching the game....and shelling pecans! lol
Looks like Annie was posing for you, Lolly. Cute kitty.
She is funny with her moustache, but she really is pretty. Her fur is sooo soft, really silky!
College recruiters are after two of my seniors right now. Wonder if we might be watching them later on.
And ECU tomorrow!
But it sounds like Judie is trying to get me locked in the pokey before tomorrow. I may be on the lam.
lol Shirley
Can you and your doggie hide me, Dana?
When I watch these football games and see the football spinning through the air, I think about Hunter.

His daddy had shown him.
told
Lolly, Annie looks like a small kitty. Cute!
I hope WVU stays on track and doesn't lose it!
I missed the eagle float! LOL..but I did see the snowboarding dogs...they were so cool!
I was over playing on FB, then finally got some breakfast and got the hopping john started.
Got the EEERs game on! Go WV!!
What Tarheels game, Jo?
Okay, I have George on guard in case they are after me here. I'm gonna head out to the store.
I thought I had lost my trash can....
Shirley ignored the TarHeels comment.
No one yet in 2010 has gotten a pic of Liberty and/or Belle in the nest for the Momster album. Guess they were too fast!
Putting my feet up for an hour before dinner.
HAPPY NEW YEAR Eagle buddies, Steve at NCTC and others who make the cam possible.

... later
Shirley, if all else fails, head for the Sheetz store and pretend you're shopping for a trash can for Jo.
Starving -- pork ribs and sauerkraut been cooking all afternoon, black-eyed peas and greens are about ready. Just need smashed potatoes.
I'm still rooting for those Mountaineers!
Okay you guys, before I read the posts I checked the January 2010 Momsters Album.....uh, it is empty!
So those eagles were too fast for you huh? Or were you all just mesmerized by their grandeur?
I understand !
Nice new avatars, and good to see Hedgehog back, Hedgie !
Good Afternoon Eagle ♀'s and ♂'s
I missed all that fun parade stuff
And I am kind of not wanting to watch the WVU-FSU game, like I am not wanting to watch the weather forecast !
But there is still time for the Mountaineers !!!
Sure glad you found Annie, Lolly.
and Shirley if you scram on the lam to the Sheetz store, they might have free coffee, which they have around here
Loved the new Glo's Glimpses of Dex this morning! First thing I opened up when got home...
☺
Hi Margy - My earlier comment after checking the album was that Lib and Belle were just too fast. Belle was there when I first signed on but was gone within a second!
They should be coming by shortly.
I saw that Jo, and I do, really, understand! I'm watching, looks like the nest cup has been fussed with today, all rounding up nicely
Jo
I just wanted you to know how anxious I was to see a picture!
email first, nest cam next, momsters album next, and then blog posts !
21 - 33 is not good........ :<(
Yeah, sad...but I think they gave it a good shot...
When I signed on I went to Still Cam and then Album - hoping to see something in the new album....
funny, I have a brother in law named Bill Stewart, name of the WVU head coach
you have trained me well, Jo...same routine I follow ☺
Are you home for awhile Margy. Hubby and I are going out for about an hour shortly. Hopefully you will get a 2010 1st pic!
Oh yes - I also checked out Shirley's blog for a new pic... :<(
not sure, Jo, need to check in with the Berkeley Springs gang but I am going to try to watch, Eagle time is approaching for sure
xoxo
Sorry all you Mountaineers fans. They played a good game!
Oh no, poor EEERS!
I hear you Norma gal! They really did try their best!
I am out of here for a little while....
Everyone enjoy your Pork and Kruat!
And your Black Eyed Peas...........
oh dear our cam is woofy
Sorry for you 'eeer fans...it sure wasn't pretty.
okay I am headed out, no nest pictures from me if the Eagles show up,
going to catch up with James and his Dad
xox Good Evening Wishes, All
SWaw the Tuskegee float w/huge eagle!! That was great!
I couldn't find anything on last night w/fireworks. Don't think we can get Balmer either.

Hi all,
Don't know if it's been mentioned here but Sydney, Australia put a video of their fireworks display online, and it's really something to see. This was done in Sydney Harbor with the Harbour Bridge as the centerpiece. It's on YouTube, you just have to sit through a short ad. Happy New Year!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhN6v7E5Yhk
Good evening everybody. I am back at home in Bedford!
The Eers forgot to show up for basketball or football today.
Saw some of Sydney on news last night, Lisa. Thanks,
Shar---glad you are settled---again! You sure are burning up that stretch of highway! Been missing Thelma---is she okay? Tell her to check in with us, please!!!
Good Evening - I am back - I see No Visit was had!
Now I have decided that I would rather go to the Sydney harbour and not the Baltimore harbour next year for the fireworks display! lol
Lisa, Thanks - they were breath taking!
Moose cam is back on with 1 moose at the feeder - current time.
Jo, you are proposing a road trip to Australia for next New Year's. I like that plan.
Moose cam is interesting
2 moose at feed pan
1 moose off to the side - can only see
antlers
Will and I just finished our dinner--pork roast with black-eyed peas, potatoes, cauliflower and brocolli with butter and garlic and apples with crumb topping. I enjoyed it.
Now you can see all three - Not certain if it is a friendly get together or not.
It isn't Scareface because this bull moose has his left antler....
I have to look back on pics to see
One went poof! (moose that is)
another is there with the other 2
I'm just going to watch and not
narrate
All along it must have been Alfalfa
Shirley your dinner sounds quite yummy. I am sure Will appreciates you!
The present moose gathering looks friendly enough.
Hope so, Jo. George came begging.
Western Maryland on CBS News.
Barn raising.
That moose looks like he's making moose calls.
I really wish I could hear Alfalfa - he has to be making a sound - not sure what you call a moose howl. That is what he looks like -howling at the moon.
George best stick to his scientific cat food diet. Very rarely do any of our cats want any table food. Well they really don't get offered any.
At times I cut up left over chicken for them...... few and far between.
Now I guess it is bed-down time for Alfalfa.
So maybe he was saying good night.
No, George did not get any people food.
Alfalfa girl friend must be right up behind him.
I'll be back in about an hour....
