Hi, Mits,
Almost got lost on the other side!
Here's what got stuck there:

Ms Bookworm said...
Hubby's gone to get his hair cut for tomorrow. Think he's bringing home fast food of some sort for din- din. That's fine with me! Gotta go wash 2 pots, and I'm getting tired of cleaning up after myself.

Shirley, I sympathize with you about the bathtub! The tile above our tub/shower combination looks pretty awful, and have been scrubbing and scrubbing it! The grout is navy blue, and it's NOT sealed--there's the problem. The installer (in 1988) said we could only use white vinegar in a spray bottle to clean it. Well, our water here is VERY hard (as in, rocks coming out of the tap), and over the years we've developed hard water scum. I'm about ready to dynamite and start over! Cannot use anything with bleach, or the grout color will be ruined. Woof!!

update from Alcoa nest....

Monday November 23, 2009
After venturing out onto the perch and preparing herself for flight, Froona has finally fledged. Which leaves our webcam looking at an empty nestbox. Never fear, whether it's driving rain or a tempting snack, the chicks continue to return home, sometimes for picture perfect moments like this.

Hi gang! Just popping in to say HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Sounds like everyone is going to be happy and will gain 5lbs tomorrow!
At 5pm, the sky was clear. I was very excited about seeing the ISS. At 6pm, the fog had rolled in and the sky was partly cloudy. At 6:15, the sky was completely cloud covered so NO ISS TONIGHT. At 6:45 the sky had cleared up once more. UGH! Maybe on the Friday flyover it will be nice.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Judie said...

Good Thanksgiving eve to everyone.

With just the two of us, I don't have an overwhelming amount of cooking. All is done, including pie and salad for our working police officers. Tomorrow is to put the turkey in the oven, make some dressing, then smashed potatoes and gravy.

So, off to watch some tv and then to sleep. Turning my light off but leaving the night light on for others. Andy, please set the alarm system later.

Tomorrow is a day for giving thanks. Let us all give thanks to our service men and women, for our police and fire fighters, for our 911 operators, for our family members -- past, present and future -- and for the blog family that helps to keep us glued together in love and friendship, and to Steve for making our blog family possible.

LOL, Lynne----hope it isn't over---if so I missed it!

Whew, Jo----at least Foyet is gone....but I thought Hotch was going to be, too. Thank goodness the little one survived.

Wonder what Wanda has been up to today??

hedgie said...

Wonderful sentiments, Judie. Rest well!

Has gotten really foggy here....can hardly see the postlamp light at end of driveway.

Checking in for a while. Finished the Criminal Minds show - it was tense!
I see the deer are eating with the moose again on the Moosewatch.com cam.

Goodnight, Ceil! What are your plans for tomorrow?

stronghunter said...

Good night, Ceil. Have a good day tomorrow.

Mema Jo said...

I have finished everything possible this evening to get ready for turkey day. Well like another leaf in the table and small things like that.
It will be a good day.. I guess we'll have rain or at least sprinkles..
but I am looking forward to the family get together.
It seems as though all of us bloggers have made good plans.

Good night all. Happy Thanksgiving.

hedgie said...

Bath and bed for me----early morning ahead. Prayers for so many being said. And thanks for yours. We all have so much to be thankful for, and I am so thankful for all of you. Goodnight.

Costume Lady said...

Gene got home about 1pm this afternoon. Guess where I have been since then?;)
All that he brought home was a fresh Deet liver for Margy, all sliced and ready to fry.
Oh, yes, he did bring me something...a bottle of home-made MOONSHINE and a bottle of home-made peach brandy. The brandy is good, but the moonshine took my nail polish off! WOWSIE!

Turkey is done, sliced white meat on one side of the dish and dark meat on the other, with broth poured over top to make it moist. Will pour the broth off before serving. Dressing is all ready to pop in the oven. Gene distracted me and I am way behind. Mac and cheese and sweet potatoes will have to be made in the morning and mashed potatoes will come from a box, I'm afraid:( The gravy turned out really tasty, so maybe the instant potatoes won't be noticed if they are smothered with gravy:)
The hardest part is transporting all this food to GeeGee's. We WILL go to a restaurant next year and have dessert and coffee at home!

I guess you all are in bed by now, except maybe Andrea.
Rest well and have a wonderful day and don't forget to tell your family and friends that you are thankful for them and that you love them.
I am thankful for all of you and I love you all!

GOOD NIGHT
PRAYERS FOR ALL

Good Night!

Ms Bookworm said...

Good Evening (Oops--I mean, Good Morning, Everyone!)
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!
Gosh, when Hubby brought home fast food for dinner, he brought me a HUGE (32 oz.) Diet Coke! I've been ricocheting off the walls ever since! Don't know how Abby on NCIS does it! (Get to sleep at night, I mean.) Well, everything is ready to go tomorrow. I cut up all the ingredients for the stuffing and toasted the bread cubes, too. Got 3 more washloads done. Just need to make the stuffing,do the turkey and make gravy. Hubby's making Brussels sprouts with leeks (yum!), but that's his project. Believe me, it will be DELICIOUS!!! Doggone, he's a good cook!
Judie,
I totally agree with your thoughts about Thanksgiving and for what and for whom we are grateful. Amen!
Couldn't find a more wonderful bunch of forever friends if I tried! Need to attempt to get some sleep despite the "Caf-Pow" from earlier. Wanda, maybe you need to pass the moonshine! I not only need sleep, I'm running low on nail polish remover! The night light is burning very brightly over the nest, the porch light's on, and the eye scanner's officially enabled. Anyone coming in later, please tippy-toe in, and don't slam the door! Prayers said for all. God bless, and good night. Love you guys! :o]

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, MOMSTERS AND DADSTERS! HAVE A GREAT DAY!

stronghunter said...

Good morning. Happy Thanksgiving! God bless you all. I have tried to keep up with all of the cards and e-mails, but have not been successful.

Still have to finish unearthing the extra, extra room. Have until this afternoon. Panic time at this point. Rus says the friend is allergic to cats, as is Rus. I will put the air purifier in there when I find space for it. Need to pitch things out the window!

Birdies are having their feast already.

BBL.

stronghunter said...

Foggy at the nest and foggy here. Travelers take care. Rus and his group will not have to travel until later. Don't know when Susan will hit the road.

magpie said...

And a Happy Thanksgiving from Magpie's Roost to my extended family. It is a joy to come home after a rather grueling night at work, and read the Momster news.
Judie, and Diann...your sentiments are very tender...we are a great little family on here.
Everyone's joyful and expressive comments, are very amusing at time, and always heartwarming.

Wanda I have a lot of grapes you could soak in that Moonshine, now that can be a treat

xo ☺ ♥

ISS was truly spectacular last night, and Shirley I am really pleased that you and Hunter got to see it. I snuck out from work ☺
It is the FIRST time that I had seen one of the shuttles with it, and was impressed how bright it AND ISS was ...

I hope my eagle-watching friends all have a great day today.

I'm making a semi-homemade (thanks Sandra Lee for the expression) dinner today. Turkey breast & thighs;Bob Evans mashed potatoes; frozen rolls;packaged stuffing, etc. I guess it will be all right.

Foggy at the nest and at Blackwater.

magpie said...

Foggy is Darn Right! And I see some snow predicted for areas where Norma and Carole are...Potomac Highlands and the Allegheny Ridge....

We had a wrong way driver on I-81 - which hit a car...drivers of both vehicles were entrapped in their vehicles, and were transported to hospital. It took a little while for the police to find the SECOND vehicle...due to the fog. Great work by the EMS and Fire Fighters, Police, DOH, Police Reserves, and Courtesy Patrol.

stronghunter said...

Hi Margy! It was a spectacular sight! Will is my researcher and sky guide. He and Rus are both very good at those things. I just go along and watch. Rus said that his friend is a food writer. Gonna check him out.

magpie said...

I have smashed my potatoes for night shift dinner, and am ready to hit the sack.

I will close out my "day" with my usual prayers, including Thank You, I'm Sorry, and Please

I know there have been many joys, and many sadnesses within the past year, many loved ones have left our presence. I pray for comfort and strength, and joyful memories every moment.

God Bless Us, Every One
xo ☺ ♥
