Costume Lady said...

Isn't this Meatball's night?

Costume Lady said...

LYNN got the WAX. Put it on your driveway and the leaves will just slide away;)

Costume Lady said...

Lynn and Margy, I took some photos of Sidling Hill when we went away last weekend. It is closed, but plenty of vehicles parked there and enjoying the view. Posted photos on JUST FOR FUN (I think, have to check).

Costume Lady said...

JO, I thought you would like to know that Lynn is driving me to Frederick, Thursday...so you won't have to help me look for my car:):)
THANK YOU JESUS!

Costume Lady said...

It's getting close to TUESDAY NIGHT TV. Time to get comfy and make some iced tea and popcorn.
Have a good evening, wherever you all are?????

Lolly said...

I am here!!!! Cooking beans and cornbread for supper. Started the beans early this morning. Just a short while now and the cornbread will be ready.

hedgie said...

LOL, Wanda.....wish wax worked that way!!!

hedgie said...

Yep, you can still see the cut and use the restroom. The exhibits have all been moved to Hancock---don't know whether the building the town is providing is open yet or not, Wanda.

hedgie said...

I'll take some cornbread, please, Lolly!

ceil said...

Jo so it is empty. Have a good night.

hedgie said...

Oh, Wanda, dear girl, please change your header to Closed Due to Lack of Funding, not interest!!!! State claimed they could not continue to fund it due to the economy, and none of the small towns could get enough money together to subsidize it. Interest wasn't waning----can't remember how many thousands of visitors they had in the last fiscal year, but alot! Good pics!

Hi ALL, i'am still around. HERE IS A NEW WEB CAM SITE. YOU CAN GO TO ANY TYPE OF CAM YOU WANT. YOU GOT A CHORCE. http://www.webcamsmania.com/

hedgie said...

The crazy thing is that if they had just charged $1 per visitor, they could have kept it open! Makes no sense.

Where's Mits??? Wonder what she's up to??? Oh, Mits..............

Goodnight, Ceil, if you are calling it a day!

NatureNut said...

Hooray!!!!! I finally got on the Blog!
Did not read much yet, but congrats to Jo so far in clean MRI!!
I had an up & down night & fi9rst went out at 2:50 AM to check sky. We had some clouds & not real dark. Went on deck in back & was looking low in sky & saw silhouette of a big branch stump!!!! The tall branch we tried to saw must have fallen finally by itself!!!!
AND as I was looking that way, a gorgeous light electric blue meteor zipped down over neighbor's house! I went out again after 4AM & nothing---lots of clouds.

Judie said...

Hi everyone,

Well, Jo has marbles in her head so I prescribe beans and cornbread followed by a snack of popcorn and iced tea. Just be careful not to slip and slide on the waxy leaves as y'all race to the kitchen.

So pleased with Diego's new official name. Are we going to continue with Diego or make the switch to his official name?

Got rid of one problem student today but still have others to deal with. So in need of the turkey day break.

Haven't caught up on all the blog but will try for tomorrow. Hope I didn't miss anything serious.

Will be trying to watch a little tv and read the newspaper. Back later.

hedgie said...

Loretta, so glad the tree cam edown without more assistance, and that you got to see a Leonid!! sounds like you had a rewarding night!!
Judie, glad you got rid of that problem person!
ROFLMBO---your recap is SO funny!!!

hedgie said...

We could spend more hours checking out all those cams, for sure, Crunch! Neato!

stronghunter said...

Hello all!

Haven't been home too long. Was setting up for sub because I have physical therapy tomorrow. I have made contact with my good friend Ellen who can walk right in and teach my classes with no problem at all. She was excited to teach Macbeth, so I can relax as long as she is there, but I want her to continue to be willing, so I had to leave things in good order for her.

Glad to hear that you were able to rid yourself of the problem student, Judie. Hope all goes well for you.

Jo has meatballs in her head? Our Jo is not a meathead!!!

I am behind on the blog, so I can't comment on everything. Also very tired. Will have to go to sleep soon.

My medicine is working--sort of. Need to check in with doctor tomorrow.

paula eagleholic said...

Jo - so glad to hear the good news.

Popcorn and cornbread, please!

stronghunter said...

Yes, I agree. So good to hear the good news, Jo.

stronghunter said...

Good night everyone. I've had two very long days. Would have finished up sooner today but for a faculty meeting this afternoon.

Lynn, just got the Tribute to Deb and am crying again. Thanks to everybody who put effort into making this.

I was just sitting here thinking about heartbroken we get over things happening to animals on our cams that we watch and how sad that one of us was going through such a hard time and didn't let us love them through it! The bond I have with my eagle budlets I know will get me through whatever life hands me. I love you all so very much!

Lynne2 said...

Sharon, truer words were never spoken. I often wonder if Deb was trying to spare us...

Loretta I'm glad the branch came down and how lucky to see the meteor!

Wanda...we stop at Sidling everytime we go camping or to Steve's moms house...love the view!

Jo glad all is well !!!!!

Wish me luck tomorrow...first thing I'm going for an EMG on my arm...seems I have a pinched nerve...UGH

Nite all, sweet dreams and prayers!

Costume Lady said...

Sorry about SIDLING HILL comment...I misunderstood the reason for closing exhibit center.
Thought I heard there wasn't enough interest in the center to make it worth while to stay open. My Bad!

Costume Lady said...

I forget what it use to be like before they cut through the mountain. I can remember, as a child, we broke down going up the mountain and had to have a family member come and get us. Don't even know how we got in touch with anyone, no cell phones and there were very few houses. Have to ask GeeGee.

hedgie said...

Wanda, always wondered what it was like before the cut! Guess 70 was built first, but I can't remember how we traveled to Iowa in the early 60's----I only remember what Breezewood and PA trnpk. was like! Maybe only 40 back then!

Thanks Shar and Lynne---a true labor of love. All y'all and Deb were my inspiration.

Mema Jo said...

Watched my 2 TV shows - pretty entertaining.

hedgie said...

Automatic fire alarm at NCTC---fire co. dispatched.

NatureNut said...

Back for a sec~~~having printing problems. Printer is fine, it's just what you see is not what you get. These new fangled flat, bright screens make everything lighter, so you have to make pic adjustments & cross your fingers!
BTW, the big branch that came down, was not all the way down. It landed on 2-3 "prongs" & thick cut end was leaning into poor little beech that's taking a beating. That was a goode 8 ft. up, so of course Fubby got his little chain saw & started cutting the bottom ones, so it could fall down!I was have an attack inside. I had reminded him of SIL a year ago who had tree leaning against another, he thought & was sawing & it fell on his foot!Surgery, 5 or so little rods/pins, cast, etc. So Mr. F finally had it fall down & I saw him jump back real good!He should have been on the other side!!!!! And they say men have logic! HA

hedgie said...

"No keyholder right now" which means someone who can unlock and reset alarm----so they don't have security at night now???

NatureNut said...

Dear Jo, I hope you haven't lost your marbles!!!
I've lost mine~~~~been slugging too much coffee!Forgive me, as it may have caused unedited post! ☺
Way too loquacious..DUH

Judie said...

Guess I need to get some sleep. My grad student for the intro. class has yet to complete grading a critical thinking assignment soooooo -- tomorrow will be spent reading/grading 100 responses as to the reasons for differences in I.Q scores between groups of people. Not what I had planned. Oh well, just another @#$*%&#@ problem to deal with.

Ooops! Hi Crunch. Good night, Shirley.

So, wishing I had some beans, cornbread, popcorn, iced tea, and the world's biggest N.Y. cheesecake, I will say goodnight.

Turning my light off but leaving the night light on for others. Sleep well, everyone. Andrea will likely be here to turn on the security system.

Judie

paula eagleholic said...

Lynn- thank you so much for all of your hard work in putting together the tribute for Deb.

hedgie said...

Okay, all's well.....Security is there and is advising that alarm is a false one and cancelling fire call.

hedgie said...

Welcome, Paula!

Goodnight, Judie! Can't count on anyone else to do the job, eh? Typical!

Loretta, is Frank hard-headed?? LOL!

NCIS was good tonight, as always. Doesn't even have to be good, just fun to look at that good-looking fella;) I was pleased with the one who was voted out tonight on DWTS. Not that I didn't like her, but the one who won out over her was really deserving for her GRIT! (NOT naming them for those who have taped the show)
The Good Wife was also good. I think it is one of my favs of the seasons new shows.
Turning in now...
GOOD NIGHT FRIENDS
SLEEP WELL
PRAYERS FOR ALL

Good Evening, Everyone!
I made it home from school OK. Turns out I won't have a class on Wednesday nights, like my printed schedule says--it's a misprint. I'll have Tues. & Thurs. classes for the next 6 weeks, then Monday, Tues. & Thurs. for the last 6 weeks.
I got a good idea of what Medical Transcription is like tonight, and I think I'm going to really, really like it! Lots of details, lots of proofreading--right up my alley!
Need to get a flash drive for the computer by Thursday, and then I can save documents I haven't finished yet in class and do the rest of them at home. Had a proofreading assignment in class tonight, and found 3 errors the teacher hadn't realized she'd made!
Thank God for 11 1/2 years of proofreading practice at my last job!
Jo, you have mail! SO happy your test results were fine!! ((LOTSA HUGS))!! Prayers for Robert being said.
Shirley, I'm glad your good friend will sub for you--sounds like a blessing for both of you! Hope the therapy tomorrow helps a lot!
Judie, sorry your grad student didn't get done in time, messing up your plans. ((HUGS)) Hope everything works out OK. Come ON, Thanksgiving weekend!!!! Hurry up!!
Here's hoping you dream of consuming the biggest, yummiest New York cheesecake ever! You've earned it!(I don't think it's possible to gain weight from a food dream, is it? Sure hope not!)
Megan, I'll pass the popcorn to you, but I've got dibs on the iced tea--if it's peach flavored!
T-Bird, I totally appreciate you, too! ((HUGS)) All of you guys are just the best!!!
Hi, Crunch--thanks for the website.
I'll check it out tomorrow!
Loretta, glad your tree branch problem got worked out. Kinda scary!
Lolly, any beans and cornbread left? I'm getting kinda hungry with all this talk of food! Sounds yummy!
Well, here I am yacking a blue streak again! I'll shut up now and let the rest of you have a chance.
The night light is nice and bright, the porch light will see you coming, and the eye scanner's ready to go. Prayers for all being said.
Sleep tight! G'night! :o]

Hi Norma,

No, they haven't seen the furniture. I haven't mentioned it to them. I hope they like it. One problem: I have to remove the little pieces of aluminum foil I put under the legs when I shampooed the carpet, but the pieces are too heavy for me to lift with one hand, so I am going to have to ask Will to give me a hand.

Lynn, the tribute to Deb is beautiful. Thank you.

I am going to get busy now. Much to do today.
