Had a great cemetery visit, boy the clouds put on a show! And there was a scattering of what seems like miles of blackbirds flying south....probably grackles or maybe starlings. Thousands of them. From the cemetery, I could see the cut where the Washington Monument is, and could see the elementary school which is pretty near to it down the hill. ☺
Margy, my back is a pain in my a**. I am sorry you have a problem in the same spot. They have done everything (injections, nerve ablation, PT, PT, and more PT, etc. blah blah blah)to try to help. I need a fusion. My health insurance will pay for it, but NOT for the 3 months of income I loose during my recovery. SO I just keep on keeping on!!!
Paula - are you sure you and your sons/brothers didn't miss your calling. Those floors are beautiful and the rest of the work is going well! What a project for you all!

Gene has been down with numerous maladys all Summer long, so we weren't able to keep our promise. I'm sure she will have more fun with her sister;) She has been so sick with a thyroid problem that the doctors can't seem to get a handle on, that I think this trip will help her to feel better, at least for a little while. A boy that goes to school with Mattie, has forever, lost his mom last night. She was 35 years old. Mattie was just heartbroken. She had to sleep with me last night. I think it just brought back so many memories for her. They think it was a blood clot. She had surgery very recently.

Heloo to all who have arrived:) Margy, 4 things, hayride, corn maze, pumpkin patch, 'pumpkin school'. 15 minutes at each activity. My job is to greet and organize, and keep things moving and on schedule. Although when I'm short staffed, which is often this year, I go thru the maze or tell the hayride story. I've been viewing Shutterfly album sent to me with the Germany Guys' photos. They had gone to Poland and then to Berlin. Also to a pumpkin patch! So glad my gd is a great photographer. I can't copy any of them to post - need to buy them and then scan. Some of the cities' sights are awesome - the statues and buildings.
Maybe Megan can get some of the Maze's completed. If I were a kid going to the Maze - I wouldn't let the rain stop me! lol That is IF I were a kid again!

Kid participated in magnet program in elementary, back then a very underfunded program.

Also, my yellow butterfly weed is still in flower, and the pods are teeming with the tiniest insects, guess they are milkweed bugs, and I saw the tiniest caterpillar the other day ☺

It is a gray morning here, near the nest and 50°, which is pretty nice after those few "freezing" mornings.
Norma, Megan and her KID came to our shop a few days ago and wouldn't you know it, I was not in the shop, was busy doing my hair. If Gene had called me, I would have gone over to meet them. Same thing happened when LOLLY & JACK stopped by last year...I was washing my hair. Gene did call me and I went over with a towel on my head. Lolly still laughs about that.

Sissy, Gene likes the name that you gave your eagle. That is the name he gives to anyone whose name he doesn't know (instead of saying "hey Buddy", he says "hey George":) He called a kid that once who came into our shop and his name really was George! Kid said, "how did you know my name":)
A boy that goes to school with Mattie, has forever, lost his mom last night. She was 35 years old. Mattie was just heartbroken. She had to sleep with me last night. I think it just brought back so many memories for her. They think it was a blood clot. She had surgery very recently.
Oh Sissy, so sorry about this...dear friend of mine lost her sister suddenly like that a few years ago...

Margy, 4 things, hayride, corn maze, pumpkin patch, 'pumpkin school'. 15 minutes at each activity. My job is to greet and organize, and keep things moving and on schedule. Although when I'm short staffed, which is often this year, I go thru the maze or tell the hayride story.
Gotta run, which is so hard to do when kid is sick, all motherly instincts go into panic mode when I gotta leave:(

Norma, the mother of one of Mattie's friends died yesterday, 35 years old. She had had surgery, came home yesterday and died yesterday evening.

There was a thing in the paper this morning where a guy on a motorcycle hit a black bear on Rt. 460. There were five of them going across the road and he missed all but one of them. He had to be Med-flighted. Didn't say what happened to the bear.

I've been viewing Shutterfly album sent to me with the Germany Guys' photos. They had gone to Poland and then to Berlin. Also to a pumpkin patch! So glad my gd is a great photographer. I can't copy any of them to post - need to buy them and then scan. Some of the cities' sights are awesome - the statues and buildings.
