Is there something wrong with the cam, or is it my computer?

Tammy said...

Hi all..

I've been watching the eagle cam for about 6 weeks now (I'm a newbie to this) but am falling behind in what is happening with Hidey. I've not seen Hidey get fed lately. Are Liberty and Belle not feeding Hidey anymore trying to encourage him/her off the nest? Are we getting close to the time that Hidey takes its first flight?

Could someone please give me a quick summary as to what is going on?

Thank you for your time.

Must be something wrong....mine is showing the same thing from last night.... :(

I invited everyone over to the new thread.. GOOD MORNING ALL..appears to be something amiss with the cam this morning.. hope it is fixed soon..HAVE A GOOD DAY AND A HAPPY HIDEDY WEDNESDAY

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Good morning everybody. Hidey is still getting fed. Hidey turned 10 weeks old this past Saturday so fledging will be in the next week or so. The still cam is working but the live feed is frozen. Hopefully that will be back up this morning. Welcome to our blog!

Hey wonderful friends, good morning!

Little slow making my way over this morning.

I was trying to stay awake late last night - 9:00 late for me - to chat with some of you that I haven't been able to talk to since Saturday.

OH - good morning to newer than me, Tammy! Welcome, gurl!

I check the cam several times a day but have been missing the feedings for the past week or so.

I am thoroughly enjoying Hidey's practice flights around the nest. It's hard not to smile when you see him/her flapping those big ol wings and hopping around the nest.

Thank you for the welcome as well. That was very nice of you.

Update on Finland water nest from Suz....

27 May 12:56 am: There is information in
Saaristomeri front page that the thunder storm broke the cam the 23th
May. The cam is not possible to prepair before the Osprey chicks are
banded.. about 30th Jun - or in the beginning on July. Prepairing work
(to climb almost to the nest) before that would be a risk to too much
disturbance...

The first chick is waited to be hatched about the first days of Jun.

It's sad.. but I believe the project people will give information every
now and then. The nest was not harmed by the storm. 'Ordinary people'
and amateur ornitologists an even profs are asked to not go near the
nest, best is to stay off the area of Seili, how curious one ever is..

Then this was posted later in the day, 27 May 1:05 am:

The DNA (phone)operator is repairing something there... Just have to
wait and see when they get it going again.

So maybe we will, maybe we won't be able to see the chicks hatch. Darn!

hedgie said...

Oops...I goofed...that info from Suz was for Finney land nest!
Water nest was the hail damage that I found out about yesterday.

which diet did you use?

Lolly said...

Hidey is really talking this morning. Belle must be very close.

Mits said...

think Hidey/Miracle, should have a name change to whiney

Lolly said...

I did Nuitisystem. It makes it so easy! I will continue to eat right. I have learned my lesson. Also, will hit the scales often and not let it creep up like it did.

Mits said...

jubby and I were thinking of using that....it would be so much easier for me down here at the beach, too many temptations, and jubby would have food at home:)

Mits said...

so what did Jack eat when you were on it?

Lolly said...

I have also been using their DVD. It is walking 2 miles in front of the TV. It is a great work out, easy on the joints, but none the less a great work out.n Jack does it with me. He is not on a diet but has lost 9 oir 10 pounds.

Mits said...

did you use the regular or silver version of nutisystem, Lolly?

Lolly said...

Jack has been prparing his own meals. Bless his heart. He has had frozen pizza, Frozen meals, potpies. But he has also grilled hamburgers, steaks, pork chops. I could have done that for him, but we prepare meals together. I have cooked when we had company or gone to Laurel's and he has had those meals. I made sure there were left overs.

Mits said...

I was all set in mind and body when I fractured my ribs 4 weeks ago today, and it put me in a down mood:(

Lolly said...

Silver version.

Lolly said...

Go for it Mits! Your jubby travels a lot, so that would help. It really has been easy.

Beaux63 said...

Morning, Mits - how is everyone today?? Hidey sure is throwing some major hissy fits today, isn't she/he??

Lolly said...

Oh, so he would do it too? Go for it!!!

Beaux63 said...

BTW, Welcome, Tammy!! I'm a newbie, too, but everyone is so warm on this blog -

Mits said...

yes, we have both lost weight before, but it found us again;)

Bob Quinn said...

Congrats Lolly. Sarah and I did the online version of Weightwatchers. I lost about 35 lbs and have now put back on about 8. I need to get back on track. Sarah lost 105 lbs over a two year period.

Mits said...

yes, she/he has, beaux

Lolly said...

You learn which foods you really like and those you do not care for. I am really in the habit now of eating fresh veggies. Last night we went to Laurel's. I cooked as she got home later from school. Anyway, I prepared oven baked pork chops with scalloped potatoes. Steamed broccoli and squash, as well as Lima beans for the boys. I ate a pork chop and veggies, but only a spoonful of potatoes. Also, I have really increased my water consumption. And, funny thing about that. My body temp has really cooled down. I had been sweating a whole lot. I think I needed more water, as I am not doing that anymore. It stopped almost immediately after starting to drink lots of water. (One glass before meals, one glass during meals, and one glass after a meal)

Lori O. said...

My eldest, on the other hand, is another story! Morbidly obese, and has been since after her first child.

Bird Girl said...

Hello all my birdbrains :P Bird Girl checking in here. Rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated! Just dealing with health issues mostly.

The bird rescue thing is going well, this is the busy time of year for us -- most of the 1000+ birds we take in a year come between March and September.

My camera broke a couple of weeks ago, and I have to replace something in my truck before I can get a new camera. :(

My health is..well...I've been worse. And I'm getting better little by little. Just something I have to deal with, and have been for about 20 years.

I'm so amazed at how big and healthy our chick is! I was so worried that we wouldn't have any, remembering the year before last when all three eggs were lost.

You all are such a great bunch of people. I'm really glad to call you all 'friend' :)

Hi, everyone! First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CEIL! Hope it's a fantastic day for you. Welcome, Newbies! Always great to meet new folks! Looks like I've missed quite a bit of action this morning-- will have to try to catch up. Hey, Magpie, sleep tight! I'm draggin' a bit myself this morning. Busy day yesterday, and will be today, too. Good to see Hidey looking contented today. Hope the sun burns through soon here-- will help to get me in gear!
It appears some Black Crowned Night Heron chicks have hatched in our trees. Can see egg shells on the ground nearby. Sure sounds busy at the nests today, too! It's a regular Pterodactyl convention! Wish the foliage weren't so thick, so we could watch better.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Andrea, have you started school yet?

Ms Bookworm said...

Bird Girl, hope you feel much better, real soon! Looks like Hidey is stretching out and trying to get really comfy right now. Wish I could stay longer, but need to go to the college bookstore asap and get the rest of the books I need. I'll check back every chance I get today. Prayers for healing, guardian angels for all, and a blessed day. BBL :o]

Hi, Sharon, yes-- I had a class in 'Human Diseases' last night! The teacher is really nice, and it's very interesting! Already have an assignment covering 4 chapters, so I've hit the road running, so to speak. Have a class tonight, 'Medical Instruments'. Will let you know the rest of my schedule once it's finalized, hopefully by tomorrow. We're off and running! Take care, and I'll BBIALW. :o]

Hey to all! Has been a bad week for me. Haven't been in the land of cyberspace for a while. Have a bad toothache. Went to get it pulled today and they wouldn't pull it because my blood pressure was up. Just a big mess. Welcome to the newbies. You will love it on here. Hidey sure is ready to go. She is just beautiful. Update me on everything. Saw the new loon. It is so purty. Talk later. Rain here in Mullens.

Hiiiiiiiiiiii Y'all. I'm still alive in Alabama. Had so much rain I almost drownded. Haven't had time to watch eagles much lately. Fertilized the yard and am having to mow twice a week. I'm still breathing but there's just not enough air for me so I'm still on oxygen. Guess Hidey will be taking off soon. Hope someone catches it on video. Y'all have a nice day.

Well I went to Kroger's before time for Andrew to go to work. I got in the last aisle where the chips are and found a woman lying on the floor. She was really sweaty, couldn't speak. I went to the pharmacy to get help. My first thought was probably her sugar had dropped because I get really diaphoretic when that happens. Called 911, first response came, rolled her over, put a brace on her neck and she had an insulin pump attached to her. Bless her heart. I also thought maybe she had had a seizure because she had that look in her eyes. Not really sure but I left the professionals in charge and came home. It is not just a life, it is an adventure.
