Hey Red, sorry to miss you. And Bibee, too. Hope you both stick around awhile...and feel better. Bob, how did Norma like the cardinal pic?? Don't remember that she ever mentioned it on here.
I wasn't on here this morning and missed the excitment of Bob's new photos. The fox photos melts my heart. It looks like you ought to be able to pick them up and hold and pet them. I think I will have to have one of those photos. BOB YOU OUTDID YOURSELF THIS TIME...just for that, I'm going to go vote for you again, for the 15the time:)
Lynn - I haven't heard from Norma on the cardinal pic. We never seem to be on th board at the same time and I don't know that she got her email working yet.
Wanda - I was really surprised that fox let me just snap away without running off. It was still there when I left. It was trying to beat the heat in the shade under the refuge's mini van.
Panda cub born in Thailand...they didn't know she was preggers...they had tried unsuccessfully for years...even played mating videos for their pair to "teach them" what to do!! LOL!!
No problem... Just came in to check the radar, see some showers that may come our way, can't tell for sure yet. Great planting weather, gotta get back to it. CU later:)
Had a phone call - seems to always happen at the wrong time!
Little Loon is in the water swimming around with a parent thank goodness... And as I type this I miss seeing how Little Loon got back up on the nest! Now I don't see him unless he is under the parent's wing.
Found out a little earlier that our area has lost another young police officer to cancer. Prayers for comfort for his family, friends and co-workers, please.
Evening everyone. Have had a nice birthday. Megan that is my favorite birthday song. Love the Beetles. Jo had my wine and a friend baked me a cake. We went to dinner. MM, Jim and me. I am about to get the jammies on. Thank you all again for the birthday e-cards and wishes. You are the greatest. Red miss you being on the blog.Pleasant dreams and hugs to you all.
Hi everyone! Been so busy I haven't had time to actually chat but I have been trying to read when I can and of course watch the babies! Happy B'day Ceil!!! And many more! All of the pictures and videos from last weekend have been great and it's nice that I can put some faces to the names! The snake...looked like the one that ate my bluebirds. EEEwwwwww!! Hidey is doing a good job of that right now! I LOVE the little Loonies!
Thanks Lynne2. Jo I don't think they name them. I will call this little one Joey. I am going this time before head hits keyboard and we have another sister down.
well I'm right behind all you people heading out to rest,,,,glad you had a good day Ceil, like that name Joey for the looney #2...good night, think I over did today, going to take some Advil and shower
Good night everyone. I am going to Charleston tomorrow night to see Keith Urban. Whoo Hoo!!! Hope to get back to normal chatting this weekend. Sure do want to look at the pics from your nest visit. Wish I could have gotten a chance to go. Still have the toothache but I will survive the concert! Sweet Eagle Dreams!
Bibee, I have a daughter that would love to go with you to see Keith Urban:) Enjoy! Deb, so glad you taped little "Joey" being born. What miracles those loons are, ready and raring to go the minute they are born:)
Well, I don't see Hidey anywhere again tonight (not 2:30 either), but I did barely see him on and off camera at 6 o'clock this morning. I think that's probably where he's hiding.
Hidey is all splayed out at the 2:30 position...a very unusual view of our eaglet. Looks like he is almost teetering on the edge. You just never know what to expect out of this Eaglet!
Well, I signed off of this site and opened Pete's Pond.
There is a dead mammal (I think it's a mammal) with round black spots and some that are elongated in the water. I haven't seen Fatty the Crocodile yet, but it looks like his work.
The head is underwater, so Fatty is probably holding it under to make sure the animal is dead.
Yep, I can see the tip of Fatty's nose above the water now, and he's pulling the animal toward shore....
It's hard to tell the species, because only parts are showing above the water. I was thinking that Otter I mentioned the other night might have a run-in with Fatty, but I don't think it is an Otter.
Their blog seems to think it the remains of the Monitor the Otter killed the other morning....
5:30 a.m. Hidey is actually flying from one end of the nest to the other - now "she" (I believe this eaglet is a she because of her unpredictability!) is preening right smack dab in front of the camera - I can actually see her sweet face up close!!!
Now, for some reason she is rearranging the nest - brought a big stick in from under the camera and stuck it right in the middle of the nest!!! Still flappin' and hollerin' - and now she's back directly in front of the camera - another close up!!!

Hidey is being very polite & patient!
For now at least.
Hi, Jo, I was wondering what they were eating...didn't see it come in.
Getting a little pushy...must be really hungry.
I can't tell if Hidey is mantling the fish or not.....
Hope someone makes a move so we know what is going on.....
Looks like they are having a showdown!
ok let's share now:)
I just had the oriole at my bird feeder! I am so excited. My little chipmunk is back too. I got some cracked corn for him!
Awww, little baby is getting fed!
Hey Wanda - Did you see my new fox shots?
I think Hidey is ready for BIG bites. Mom is too cautious.
Sharon, what is the Oriole feeding on? Hummer feeder?

Thanks Helen. With all the support from you guys and from Lisa posting over at the BW Friends site, I should have a real shot.
BOB...I can't find them, where are they?
Wanda, the oriole was just at the bird seed. I have never seen that before.
I vote all day, Bob

We missed all of you that couldn't make it.
Hi, Thelma...Rested up from the weekend yet? Fun, wasn't it?
Wanda - I was really surprised that fox let me just snap away without running off. It was still there when I left. It was trying to beat the heat in the shade under the refuge's mini van.
Capt. Eagle is on his fishing trip, so I am about to have supper all alone:( BBL

sun was out for a while...still shining in the west, but fog rolling in from the east....
I'm still singing the bumble bee song and the bubble song from the weekend:)
Thanks Megan! ☺
No problem...
Just came in to check the radar, see some showers that may come our way, can't tell for sure yet. Great planting weather, gotta get back to it. CU later:)
Hey, Mits, can you record it and put it on Youtube?? :)
Great pics Paula! I love Picasa, can download the whole album onto my computer!!
WOWSIE Little Loon in on the Adult Loon's back I kept looking and looking in the water to hopefully see Little Loon swim past...... & there he is.
Little loon on the parent's back! Too cute!
lol, Sharon, I'll get right on that
I see little Loonie too-- What a cutie! I have to go and mow, bbl!
Could only see 2 eaglets in the NBG nest before it went off...the other may be branching.
Did ya'll hear that Eaglet 1 is male and 2 and 3 are females at NBG?
That has to be one of the most adorable things Mother Nature has to offer!!! That baby just appears out of the wing!
Cool, Sissy, I didn't know that....
got the Sunday pics done too....will post the link on the EM blog....
I bet Momma is wishing that baby would settle down!
Hidey is up and moving!
OK, posted Sunday's eagle watching pics as well
Eaglet Momsters Blog BBL - dog walking time!
Had a phone call - seems to always happen at the wrong time!
Little Loon is in the water swimming around with a parent thank goodness...
And as I type this I miss seeing how Little Loon got back up on the nest! Now I don't see him unless he is under the parent's wing.
Thanks Paula!
Jo, that little darlin' just climbed right up on the front of the nest.
I just can't get over how agile Little Loon is! It is going to be really cute when we get 2 Little Loons coming out
of the parent's wings! lol
Well my lovely friends of fur and feathers! I am going to watch some TV with Mattie and then hit the bed!
Little Loon is on daddy's back in the water!!! Way too cute!
Norma was right, she knew I would fall in love with this cam!
Paula, slideshows are great!! Looks like you had a fun Sunday, too. Paula Eagleholic's Excellent Weekend!
Little Loon made it out of the water!! What a baby!!
Ok, I really am going in the other room, with my laptop of course.
Found out a little earlier that our area has lost another young police officer to cancer. Prayers for comfort for his family, friends and co-workers, please.
Taking a mowing break. Paula, WOW! Great pictures, what a wonderful experience for all of you.
Little Loonie is going for a swim! Maybe, on the edge of the nest still.
Nope, changed his mind, back under Mom.
Is that cute or what? Baby Loonie jumped in the water to be with parent:) Deb, can you tell Mom from Dad?
Dad's feathers are prettier:)
No, Wanda, just guessing that it is Mom on the nest!
I agree Deb, the other ones, feathers are more colorful around the neck
Also the loon's size like our eagles may be a good way to tell the female as she should be larger. I'll try to confirm what I just said!
I tried to see a difference in the two yesterday, but couldn't. Thought maybe they were gay and had stolen the eggs;)
Yes, Jo, I did think I saw a difference in size.
Hey, Helen...I had a RIB-eye for supper and didn't have a problem with that:) LOL
They share incubating duties, so I guess it could be either one. The book doesn't say anything about differences between male and female.
Finally found this:
The male is slightly larger than the female, but otherwise the two sexes look identical.
I also found that both sexes have similar measurements! So you can't size them up very well! Must be the feathers!
Hidey is perched at 2ish
REMEMBER: Hidey is at 2:30 position!
Found the favorite perching place.
LOL Paula! Taking time to get our sighting of Hidey... I couldn't even find the feet last night in the dark!
I have got to get my mowing done. BBL
Ceil
I am hoping that you celebrated with a large piece of cake and a glass of wine and that your daywas very special
Gotta go tackle some chores....bbl
lol, Wanda:)
Has the Eagle flew the nest? I came back from church service and the nest looks to be empty.
Ceil, hope you spent this day with Jim pampering you all day long;) Huh? What's that you said?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY:):):)
Even though you can hardly see - look at the 2:30 position on the right side of the nest - Hidey is there.
So is Spidey!!!!!
I didn't get quite done mowing, darkness and coughing sent me in. I really would like to be totally done tonight.
WOW! LW eaglets are getting really big! Both are visible for once!
Hidey is keeping an glowing eye on us!
Guess the egg well looked comfy more so then the perch on the edge of the nest.
I haven't checked in on Libby Dam forever. I am only seeing one eaglet right now, hope the other is hiding behind the adult.
I think we have two little loonies!!
Loon is off the nest and the second loon is almost HATCHED
We do, one swimming, the other almost out of the egg!
Ceil, wasn't fun to watch!
I saw the Deb. Loon born on my birthday. Lucky bird. LOL
Deb, I was so excited. Last night I was afraid loon one was lost and to see this little one born.
I got a short clip of it, am loading it now.
I missed the Little Loon 2 being born on your special day! What do you want to name this second Little Loon in honor of your day??????
Jo I will let the chat room people name it. I will just know that it was born on my day. I was thinking Joey for my dad.
Can't wait to see it Deb!
What is the first loon chick named?
There is only one eaglet in the Libby nest, apparently one didn't make it past May 16th. That is too bad. The surviving eaglet looks healthy.
Loonie video is on Nest Pictures!
Hi everyone! Been so busy I haven't had time to actually chat but I have been trying to read when I can and of course watch the babies!
Happy B'day Ceil!!! And many more!

Oh Deb, the Loon video is too precious!! I missed the second one hatching so Thank you for posting that!
Chat room refers to Chick #1 and now Chick #2 I can't find any real names
Hidey has returned to the 2:30 position to perch!
Thanks Lynne2. Jo I don't think they name them. I will call this little one Joey. I am going this time before head hits keyboard and we have another sister down.

Spidey is making an appearance....sure wish I could see Hidey
Ha Ha I just realized that Spidey and Hidey, rhymes ☺
leg looks like a diving rod !
Aw shucks, I mean Divining Rod
Has anyone seen Lightning bugs or maybe they are fireflys? I did tonight in Berkeley Springs....so pretty, twinkling like they do
I see Hidey...now that you all told me where to look....
Oh, that Spidey is Cosmic looking - rather creepy I might add....
Well, I don't see Hidey anywhere again tonight (not 2:30 either), but I did barely see him on and off camera at 6 o'clock this morning. I think that's probably where he's hiding.
