Did make it yesterday to grocery store. Wasn't because of weather was overdue. Hubby was NOT happy with me to say the least. My body paid me back too. If he isn't better dr. call Monday.
Glad Wanda, Gene and GeeGee are in warmer weather.
Candy and Megan prayers for jobs and unemployment.
Anne-Marie prayers added for you friend Sharon's dil.
Good morning DANA and LORRETTA. DANA, thanks for thinking about Josh. I keep praying too that he will find something, anything would be all right right now.
So I take it Wanda, Gene, and Gee Gee are headed to or are already in Florida. Those lucky ducks. I'm glad to hear Wanda is feeling better. Now if we can get you up to par DANA.
I just am enjoying this long visit by our Liberty and Belle this morning. NORMA, I think that this will be more and more common now. Won't it be great? I did turn it on a few different times at school this week and caught them in the nest, but that is all. We have been very busy.
Candy for me it is the usual. Been doing good as can be expected with the water exercise for the cervical and spinal stenosis. It is my fubby lol (hubby). Tuesday he came down with that intestinal virus. Poor guy really feels poorly. No better Monday dr get called.
MORNIN' DANA!----I hope you didn't do too much yesterday!!----You take it easy GAL!----Just stay in & watch our GORGEOUS EAGLES!!---Isn't it wonderful when they have long visits!!---Best wishes to ED!-----Pray he is feeling better!!
Oh DANA, so sorry to hear about fubby. The virus finally got to him, too. It is horrible. Hope you have already had it, or oh o! Do hope he feels better soon.
Good morning HELEN. Good to see you on today. I just love being able to get a good long look at our eagles. I am enjoying it very much. What a way to start the weekend.
Looking at Pa deer cam that is a "brown mineral salt lick". The thing that looks like a box in the back. Birds, squirrels, deer, rabbits any animal loves them. Because of the minerals in them.
Thanks NORMA. His wife didn't want to live in Winchester, so he , like a fool, quit his job there before having another job. :( What an idiot, huh? Then all the job's everywhere started to layoff. He is looking in the Triangle area (where she wants to be). Who knows. I thought he was smarter than that.
WOW---WOW!!!---EAGLE BUDDIES!!!---This is just like CHRISTMAS!!!----We have our EAGLES to watch & lots of EAGLE BUDDIES to chat with!!!---LIFE IS GOOD!!----(now we must get MOVIN'JIM to hug a tree)--ho!!--
Hey DANA Now we know what to look for. NORMA. She Belle got it and took right off. So did she or didn't she? That is the question!:) PAULA Sorry to hear mom has had problems. Will keep her in my prayers that they find out what is wrong and bring her good health.
NORMA I think that Josh would take a lesser job about now too. Time will tell. I keep hoping, as his wife is still sick and will be going to a specialist in February; earliest she could get. What a way to start out. But I have faith that all will turn out for the best.

Hi Norma I try very hard to check in daily. But you are right don't stick around too long. I am out with my cam enjoying these gorgeous critters up close. Lots and lots of pictures and links on Glo's Glimpses on a fairly regular basis. And then of course my special picture with Angel. MTBR
Yes Norma You are right I have taken on 2 overnights a week right now. Had one of my co workers have a heart valve transplant 1 week before Christmas so I now have her shiftat least for a while. Leaves me daytimes to take phtos or sleep. I would much rather do one but sometimes got to do the other.
DANA Amanda has had some very serious allergies for a number of years and finally started getting shots each week after being tested. Her joints are starting to ache on top of everything else. She has tried everything, but has stopped her shots for now after a bad reaction, and is just waiting to see the specialist, I guess. As far as I know, she is home here and Josh is in Greenville looking for work. Whatever, it is too long a story, Mom caters to her every whim; not sa bite the bullet person. Soooooo we just have to wait and see what is found out. I wish it would be soon so they could get a decent start to their marriage.
Come on Belle, don't let this handsome eagle down! He acts like he is trying to call out, but nothing is coming. He either ate too much this morning or has a sore throat.
oooops Dana I sure hope Ed gets to feeling better. And Paula sorry to hear about Mom. SOme of the toughest things I dealt with when my Dad was ill was those confusion kind of days. I never knew if he was comng back to reality. It was usually a result of some medication and once that was out of his system he cleared up. He was very special to me as he had raised me from the ago of 12. Hoping for a much Healthier New Year for your Mom.
Lib just now left the nest on my cam. That is kind of confusing. Is my cam like way behind you guys.
GLO!!---WOW!---As I always tell MARGY----You are a GOOD person!!--- That is wonderful!!---I would like your work---I have volunteered to be a CASA Worker (speak up for a child)----need my training---But I worked for many years as an asst. of sorts---FAMILY COURT JUDGE,--travel, etc.---lots of div.--custody, etc.----
Thank you DANA. I don't like to share bad new much, so I hadn't said much. They would appreciate any help from your prayers and God they can get along with all the others on your prayer list.
Morning friends. See I missed all of the nest action. Great capture, Steve..thanks! Well, Christmas ham bone is boiling, navy beans soaked overnight, and I'm about ready to clean the meat off the bone...Bean soup for dinner tonight!!! Mmmmm good. Anyone coming? Good to see you, Candy!! Sorry about Josh and Amanda's troubles...not ag reat way to start out. Bet she has some kind of autoimmune diseas.
Paula, I'm with you...give me XP, and heck with this Vista!! Norma, dear...just wanted to clear up what you said about the Mason-Dixon Line...it forms a demarcation line between four U.S. states, forming part of the borders of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and West Virginia (then part of Virginia). In popular usage, especially since the Missouri compromise of 1820 (apparently the first official usage of the term "Mason's and Dixon's Line"), the Mason-Dixon Line symbolizes a cultural boundary between the Northern United States and the Southern United States (Dixie). You are BELOW the line!!!
HEDGIE---OH!--OH!---I know about the MASON-DIXON line----It's teased about in WV----In this area of the state---Eastern Panhandle---they have always referred to WV as being southern----But on 6/20/1863--WV pulled away from VA & became a separate state---A LINCOLN signed the paper!--ho!---The part of WV I grew up in---We were never thought of ourselves being Southern!!!---We used to yell 'We won the War'!!----Sorry----I should have said I said it in jest!!!----Sorry---
No, Norma, they go to the kennel. Too much stress on them to go to a strange place and be left alone all the time. Flying them out and back would be hard on them, too.
Ok, Normabyrd!!! Of course, in VA schools we were taught that the "formation" of WV was illegal!!! Many of our poor Hedgesville boys left for war as Rebs, only to come home to a Yankee town. And, of course, as you know, DC was considered a southern town prior to the war! When I first came here from DC/VA, everybody made fun of my southern accent...LOL!!
WHOA!! DEB!----I just assumed you were driving---& visiting family!!!--No Way on a plane----Thanks for update on the owl---I had checked there earlier!
It would be a two day trip each way to drive, only 1/2 day to fly. I would end up driving most of the trip out and back. Flying is much better, sit back and relax.
OH YEAH HEDGIE!!----Lots of fun with NORTH & SOUTH----in our area! LINCOLN'S Birthday was always a holiday in WV---But they combined it with GW to Pres. Day!!!----ho!---one less holiday for folks!!
Good morning everyone. Beautiful Alabama is cloudy again today. Expecting more rain. I've been playing with my Facebook page. Trying to place pins on the map of all the cities I've visited. I gave up trying to place them all. Traveled too much in my younger days. lol
The sky watchers probably know this already, but just in case:
If skies are clear Saturday, go out at sunset and look for the giant moon rising in the east. It will be the biggest and brightest one of 2009, sure to wow even seasoned observers.
Red, I'm fixin' cornbread, too!!! Great minds, as they say!! Megan, it's easy!! Recipe is on bean bag....tho' this bag didn't include ham info, but a ham seasoning packet...yuck! If you don't have a hambone w/ lots of meat, ask fgrocer for some hamhocks. Soak beans overnight in cold water after sifting through to remove any gravels. Cook off ham, remove from bone and cut up; add drained beans and ham to broth w/ diced onion, carrots if you like, and pepper and parsley. Cook all day; add salt if needed before serving!
watched my birds and squirrels this morning . I need to finish shampooing but Diana is still asleep. I have rose buds out side my kitchen window. They arent happy but they are hanging in there.
I am going to try and graft thiw spring. Maybe the end of next month. I have a lemon the refuses to bear and my friend from Southern Cal who is a nursery man taught me how. Its going to be fun.
I am going to graft a lemon, lime and orange to my big fruitless tree. One of them should take. Its should be fun to try..It will reach about 52 here today. sunny and clear. We need rain. All the storms are going over us to the sierras. Skiing is great but we need the water down here.
Jim, the quake was centered near San Bernardino. Never did hear what it measured, but obviously not much or we'd have heard more!! ANne MArie...go ahead and shampoo...that girl will sleep through it! Takes a quake to wake teens...LOL. Believe it or not, didn't find a single gravel in the beans this time!!
No gravel in mine either Hedgie. I don't soak mine overnight either and I can't tell a difference in taste. Do boil mine twice and discard water each time then cook all afternoon. Then just before serving mash them a bit with potato masher. I use two ham hocks thrown right in with the beans then clean all the meat off the bones afterwards.
You're all making me hungry. I love Boston baked beans in the Crock Pot.
Years ago I had the small Crock, which had a great recipe book for some things, and baked beans was one of them. But I lost the book, got a bigger Crock for Christmas, and it doesn't have anything in the way of a recipe book.
I'll have to look on the INet for a good recipe. They're good with ham or hocks or even good sausage. Haven't tried corned beef or the like, but it might do too.
This stuff is great for cold nights, but it's not the only one...stew, corned beef and cabbage, chicken and dumplings, HAM (OR PORK STEAKS) AND SCALLOPED POTATOES are just a few...oh yeah, a big pot of spagetti and a loaf of garlic bread.
01/10/09: We've updated our Eagle Cam Web Log with interesting information about eagle mating behavior. Also, we have some amazing photos of eagles performing a cartwheel display.
Beans were for the kids. I had a left over ham from New Years and needed to use it. I cant throw away anything. blame my parents and good ole farmers ethics.
BWO UPDATE..... 01/10/09: The eagles brought in another meal, although we can't be sure if it was a bird or mammal.
Unlike ospreys -- that depend almost exclusively on freshly caught fish -- eagles will eat fish, mammals, waterfowl and even carrion (such as road kill). GREAT PICTURE WITH THIS ONE......
From Paula "Wow, your feed is way behind Glo...really strange...he just left again."
Saturday, January 10, 2009 10:24:00 AM
I have decided that for some strange reason I was watching reruns. I even got to see lib do that coughing or trying to get up a pellet thing just before I left although I had read about it on the blog like 10 mins at least beforehand. Hmmmm
Back from my vetures. Wonder if I will watch real time or reruns this afternoon.
Oh before I go , brother Bill wants to go to Williamsburg this spring and meet me there. I didnt do everything I wanted to when I was there and he has never been. when does warmer weather start down there?

Paula today should be a better day weather wise than tomorrow to go down and see your Mother. Hope she is feeling much much better.
I loved in comments--Megan's sacrifice for Paula lol ....that gal is such a friend.
Who knows. I thought he was smarter than that.

good morning PAULA. So good to see you too on here this morning. I was hoping that your mother was doing better and better. Is everything ok with her?
MATING
hanky panky
Hanky Panky. That dirty bird> :)
Belle says that that is it. I'm moving over to this side of the nest.
Looks like she is looking for higher ground
Take that Liberty!
Did you all hear the sound Liberty made just before??? Almost like a gurling sound.
CANDY---I know exactly how you feel my SIL wanted to move to FL!!-----now he is doing a lesser job than he had in WV!---you are not alone---
Good morning everyone. Wow I loaded the cam just in time to see our "loving birds".
Love that the cam is up although I am out of here for several hours today off and on.
Hope your day is beautiful. Sure started out great didn't it.
PAULA---I have to 'refresh' to keep my sound!!----Where's BELLE?
Getting lunch???
Thought they poofed, but see Lib (I guess) is still sitting there.
Good Morning Glo...stay warm you and Dexter.
Liberty is sitting at his favorite spot. Belle had flown up onto a limb after the HP.
Wow , glad I had the video running!!
No, I didn't hear about Vista...but glad to hear it...give me XP!!
Candy - what our kids do for love...probably not the best thing for Josh to do...but hope he finds something soon.
MORNIN' GLO!---We don't get to see you much anymore!!---Miss you!!---You seem to have MARGY'S work schedule!!----glad you enjoy your work!!!
Got a Text message from Michael...having a great time.
Not sure what's going on w/ Mom...rather confused...running some tests yesterday or today.
Thank goodness weather won't be so bad...but gonna have to leave here soon...
EAGLE BUDDIES!!!----I have a question!!!!!!
What makes you think that BELLE doesn't enjoy those little encounters with LIB?????????
Good Question, Norma!
ROFLAMO!!
Hey DANA Now we know what to look for. NORMA. She Belle got it and took right off. So did she or didn't she? That is the question!:)
PAULA Sorry to hear mom has had problems. Will keep her in my prayers that they find out what is wrong and bring her good health.
Sounds like Belle is the love em and leave em type...she always takes off after HP!!
NORMA I think that Josh would take a lesser job about now too. Time will tell. I keep hoping, as his wife is still sick and will be going to a specialist in February; earliest she could get. What a way to start out. But I have faith that all will turn out for the best.
Naaaah. She is the "Just don't touch me type" only when I want it. :)
Candy I don't have anything on my prayer list about Josh's wife. What is the matter?
I think Belle is just a lady. Afterwards she wants some privacy lol -- to preen and pretty herself back up.
Got the bonding on video...too bad sound was off again! :(
And I see she didn't toss him off this time!!

Good morning! It is sunny and cold here. So nice to see Lib in the nest.
Lynn, you asked where my dad lives, he lives in Hemet, CA. That is out passed Riverside, not as far as Palm Springs.
He sure does PAULA. Look at that pose.
Good morning DEB! Aren't you supposed to be going to California soon?
Looks like Lib is waiting for his favorite gal to come bearing gifts; limbs and sticks.:)
I leave on Tuesday, Candy. I am getting excited to go!
Looks like Lib was trying to cough up a pellet...I didn't see anything come out, tho.
Come on Belle, don't let this handsome eagle down! He acts like he is trying to call out, but nothing is coming. He either ate too much this morning or has a sore throat.
I thought the same thing, Paula, shaking his head like that.

THIS WAX IS FOR YOU SHARON!!!
Did you see the actions I described?
I am bringing prayer list up-to-date. Many changes for more prayers and many praises. Candy I will add Josh's job looking and will add Amanda.
Just heard geese flying.
Paula added more prayers for your Mother.
Hmmm Ok I see he just flew in on mine too. Guess I am good to go again. But I am gone for a while. Enjoy!!!!
I wish I had time to go find it, Paula, but I am pretty well scheduled. I will only be at my dad's for a few hours, then back to Huntington Beach.
Wow, your feed is way behind Glo...really strange...he just left again.
Huntington beach is nice, Deb. I didn't make it there on my CA trip, but my son visited....saw a surfing competition.
Gotta go shower and stuff and hit the road...catch ya'll later...will work on the videos tonight...
Thank you DANA. I don't like to share bad new much, so I hadn't said much. They would appreciate any help from your prayers and God they can get along with all the others on your prayer list.

thanks, Lynn for clearing that up for Norma...was wondering when she defected to the North...lol.
both eagles BWE
ONLY 1 at BWE now, they have been in and out this a.m.
HEDGIE---OH!--OH!---I know about the MASON-DIXON line----It's teased about in WV----In this area of the state---Eastern Panhandle---they have always referred to WV as being southern----But on 6/20/1863--WV pulled away from VA & became a separate state---A LINCOLN signed the paper!--ho!---The part of WV I grew up in---We were never thought of ourselves being Southern!!!---We used to yell 'We won the War'!!----Sorry----I should have said I said it in jest!!!----Sorry---
MORNIN' DEB!----I would be EXCITED too---if I had a trip to look forward to---What do you do with your dogs---do you take them with you?
eagle still at BWE
No, Norma, they go to the kennel. Too much stress on them to go to a strange place and be left alone all the time. Flying them out and back would be hard on them, too.
Eagle at LW, now both.
Back to one at LW.
Owl is out on the burrowing cam.
Back to two at LW.
wish LW would face the cam:)
Me, too. They are just content watching the world go by. Think they were just beaking.
WHOA!! DEB!----I just assumed you were driving---& visiting family!!!--No Way on a plane----Thanks for update on the owl---I had checked there earlier!
could see some action
It would be a two day trip each way to drive, only 1/2 day to fly. I would end up driving most of the trip out and back. Flying is much better, sit back and relax.
OH YEAH HEDGIE!!----Lots of fun with NORTH & SOUTH----in our area! LINCOLN'S Birthday was always a holiday in WV---But they combined it with GW to Pres. Day!!!----ho!---one less holiday for folks!!
Crow or raven in LW nest.
DEB!---NO argument about flying!--ho!
I don't mind driving, if I have lots of time and someone who is willing to help drive. That someone is not my sister that lives in Sioux Falls!
I haven't see the DIVERS since the day I spent watching football all day!!!----Think they were DIVERS from last year-----ho!
** GOOD MORNING **
** EVERYBOdY **
iT'S a moderately beautiful 64° with 12% humidity and desert winds this fine morning in So Cal.
But it will rise into the 70's with desert winds this afternoon.
Desert winds all weekend essentially is what they're predicting.

Jim
Did you feel the earthquake, Jim?
Good morning everyone. Beautiful Alabama is cloudy again today. Expecting more rain. I've been playing with my Facebook page. Trying to place pins on the map of all the cities I've visited. I gave up trying to place them all. Traveled too much in my younger days. lol
The sky watchers probably know this already, but just in case:
If skies are clear Saturday, go out at sunset and look for the giant moon rising in the east. It will be the biggest and brightest one of 2009, sure to wow even seasoned observers.
Must get dressed & get some food!!!
& after yesterday's weather forecast----I have tons of SNACKS!!!---ho!---if any one would like to come over!!----
Will remember Deb!---Thanks--
Hedgie, you won't believe this but I'm making navy bean soup today too and cornbread to go with it.
That's right -full moon tonite-
Winter Moon, Cold Moon, Ice Moon-take your pick...
So I'm going to Norma's for snacks, and Hedgie's for dinner-I'd stop by Red's but it's just too far to drive. Who's making dessert??
Hey Red, hubby got a bag of navy beans at the store today...never cooked them before, have to look up a soup recipe.
They are easy to make and so good. My aunt always said to boil and drain them twice to relieve the problems caused by beans. It sure seems to work!
BWE cam has gone wacky!
Check them for small rocks. It's not unusual for them to be in the bag with the beans. Not good on teeth.
I add garlic to mine, I think it is all what you like for flavor in the spices.
BWE back to normal.
Ok, I see where I have to soak them overnite- I'll add the rocks to my driveway...
good Morning all, made my pot of beans yesterday. I'm one step ahead of you..:)I make them like Hedgie
watched my birds and squirrels this morning . I need to finish shampooing but Diana is still asleep. I have rose buds out side my kitchen window. They arent happy but they are hanging in there.
Hello Anne:)
Hi our flower girl, wish I had you in my garden
I am going to try and graft thiw spring. Maybe the end of next month. I have a lemon the refuses to bear and my friend from Southern Cal who is a nursery man taught me how. Its going to be fun.
eagle at BWO
gone, boy that was fast.. looks cold.
Deb, I'm not sure which earthquake you are talking about, but I guess it doesn't matter, since I didn't feel any.
Sometimes, if they give a gentle rock, you think you got a head rush and don't pay any attention.
I did read in passing that we had a small quake yesterday, but there was no damage.
I really didn't notice anything this time. [:~D]
Did your sister feel it??
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Jim, living in So Cal would give anyone a head rush..LOL
I wish I was in your garden too, Anne:) It is a chily 32° here, not too bad, but no sun. Hoping the clouds will clear tonite so we can see the moon.
I am going to graft a lemon, lime and orange to my big fruitless tree. One of them should take. Its should be fun to try..It will reach about 52 here today. sunny and clear. We need rain. All the storms are going over us to the sierras. Skiing is great but we need the water down here.
Both eagles BWE

EAGLE OUR NEST!!
Sure nuff...kind of puffed up, isn't he/she???
WHoa- 2nd eagle just arrived with a big stick!
Looks like he's giving the cam the eagle eye now!!
Two!
Cool- working right up by the cam-great pic
Up close and personal!
Darn it,trying to chop garlic and watch the cam, gonna cut my fingegr off...must focus...
Ol' blue eyes!!
One gone...
Can't get any work done this way!!!
Watch those fingers, Megan!!
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
all I did was leave a few min to make an ommlet and everyone show up at our nest.
Not sure if it's Lib or Belle still there...whichever...king or queen of the roost....purveying the realm....king or queen of all that he/she sees!
Turned the computer desk so I can see it from kitchen counter, making spaghetti sauce. 2nd eagle is back!
Good color....moss evident in nestcup.
Both again!
And one out again...
One gone again....lovely iridescence showing on feather tips!
Cam just went black...hmmmm...hint that I need to get back to business here! BBL!
Jim I am on Atkins and your making me hungry. I have got to loose 10 lbs before March. help me here...:)
nice they are giving us longer visits.
really getting tired of the blog, blocking posts all the time
Yeah, they are really working on the nest.
One more thing...JIM, you are making me more hungry than I already am!!!!! ALL sounds good!
cool take-off
Darn it-missed it...
"Atkins"...is that the one with no carbs?? I don't see a pot of beans fitting into that somehow.
Anyhow, that's what was making me hungry...ate a banana, helped, but now I'm looking around again....

UPDATE FROM BWE.....
Nest Update
01/10/09:
We've updated our Eagle Cam Web Log with interesting information about eagle mating behavior. Also, we have some amazing photos of eagles performing a cartwheel display.
Thanks, that's a nice update-neat pictures. Lisa is right, Blackwater is a beautiful place, when I go there, I don't wanna leave.
Beans were for the kids. I had a left over ham from New Years and needed to use it. I cant throw away anything. blame my parents and good ole farmers ethics.
is is always nice to go to a place where there is complete quiet...very rare.
BWO UPDATE.....
01/10/09:
The eagles brought in another meal, although we can't be sure if it was a bird or mammal.
Well Diana is awake and getting ready for school. I had better get to the carpets. hugs everyone and have a great afternoon. BBL
Oh before I go , brother Bill wants to go to Williamsburg this spring and meet me there. I didnt do everything I wanted to when I was there and he has never been. when does warmer weather start down there?
Starting to rain and sleet here and at the nest.
Probably around mid May, Anne-depending on mother nature, who is not always predictable.
