How Cool is That ! Steve let us enjoyed "New Year's Day" for quite some time !! Thanks for everything, Steve and NCTC, and thanks Megan for the bulletin! xoxo
Hello there you all.... Ready for bed but when you lie around all day you have to force yourself to sleep. Hope I feel up to joining in with all of you tomorrow.
Good Night and peace be with you Prayers for all being said!
Thank you all for your Anniversary wishes to me and Gene. It does not seem possible that 50 years have gone by. I truly believe that God meant for us to be life partners. We actually met the very first time in church. I think God liked what he saw and sprinkled us with His magic potient and the rest is History:) We have had to postpone our celebration til next month. Too many obstacles got in our way:(
Good AM Everyone from Eagleland!!! NCTC cam is not good, but there's an eagle in the nest here at Park & a few pileateds!!! BBL--gotta open other end of Park....
Ha Ha Ha - I am getting Christmas packages out to relatives this morning! Just a little late.... ☺ I always tell them to save some wall space, I always give them calendars!
Coming back in on Park entrance road, a BIG turkey I've heard about crossed in front of me. Heard gobbles--he was joining his 1/2 dozen friends up in the woods. Eagle had left the nest.
Good morning and a belated Happy New Year! I've been to BW twice since the last time I logged on and didn't get much of anything either time. I went to Pickering Creek yesterday and saw an immature chasing an adult over a field. The quality of the photos is not great because it was late and the light was fading but it was still an interesting exchange:
I came in at a great time to see Bob's pictures. Bob the two having their talcons out in the air wow ! The one of the tired (I think) immature landing is just awesome.
I like seeing your; as you say (fading light) pictures anytime! Thank you for sharing ( :
Great Pictures, Bob, as usual! Was it a friendly or unfriendly exchange between the adult and the juvenile?
Paula: thanks for the tip, I just read the BWO web log and viewed the Google earth picture...that's exactly what I was wondering about, and what you had told me. Thank you.
Well, it is already time for a Panda Nap...I vow in the New Year to get a more regular sleep schedule!
Dana - Lisa didn't point specifically to the eagles nest....it is in the "eagle cam woods". I have seen the eagle cam nest...it is in the area where it says "cam woods".
I hope there are no eggs yet. This is only the 2nd time for us to see this pair & nest.(Same pair was probably at another nest further away & hard to view in the past.) I guess if she is not constantly sitting there, probably no eggs. Time will tell.
To answer Magpie's question (who may be Panda napping by now) I'm guessing it was not a friendly exchange. Neither one had food in it's talons but I'd bet it started over food.
Bob - just viewed your pictures again (after Panda Nap) - thanks for your answer. They really don't look very friendly. I really like the way you captured the wing action on 6, 7, 8, and I love #10 - and the Deer: that is such an incredible pose and capture. Thanks again for all the beauty and wonder ! ☺
ISS Fans: Have a good flyover Sunday morning, Berkeley County time is 0640 - 0643...70-degrees with a negative 3.8 - skies should still be dark enough to see that....will transit WNW - Hope Paulleo is watching !
Monday not as bright, and Tuesday brighter right at 6 am our time here!
TTFN - enjoy your North, South, East, West, Midwest, Southwest, Central, and Overseas Afternoons (hope I didn't miss anyone...)~ xoxo ♥
OMG...watching Sleepless in Seattle...can't believe it's been almost 16 yrs....Tom Hanks looks like a baby!!! Sure Meg Ryan will, too. Remember when she got her start on As The World Turns.
Yes, Lynn, I do remember her on that show and If I recall correctly, she wasn't very good at that time. A lot of the stars that are doing well in movies now, got their start on Soap Operas. I have watched Young and the Restless since it's conception. I have even had Gene to stop the Eagle Express so that I could watch Young and Restless:)

Your pics are great, Bob, as always!! Fading light doesn't affect your talented quality!
Bob, the pics are still cool!
Hopefully the sun will warm up our cam...
Lisa has started the Eagle cam weblog. She has an interesting aerial pic of the eagle nest vs osprey platform pic. Margy, you might like to see that.

Ok Thank YOU I seen that on the map. I thought that would refer to the eagles nest. I was not sure that was it though. Got the spot ty.
Group w/their own kayaks came in an hour ago! Must be a polar bear club!!!
Speculation here is that perhaps our eagle is on eggs already due to the warmer weather we had as she's sitting low in the nest!Crossing our talons.
Wow Nature, that sounds really early for eggs. Has she ever had them this early?
Oh I forgot: Happy Eastbound Traveling wishes for Ceil, Mary Margaret and Jim... ☺
Brrrrrrr Loretta!
Williamsport MD, (Washington Co Md) had their Polar Bear Plunge on New Year's Day....
Great news about eggs there, hope it turns out to be true! You will need to set us up for a field trip, NatureNut.
xo Good Night.... z z z
Loretta what is her record; ie first year how many eggs and hatch etc.
I hope there are no eggs yet. This is only the 2nd time for us to see this pair & nest.(Same pair was probably at another nest further away & hard to view in the past.) I guess if she is not constantly sitting there, probably no eggs. Time will tell.
Bob, beautiful pics of that encounter!!
To answer Magpie's question (who may be Panda napping by now) I'm guessing it was not a friendly exchange. Neither one had food in it's talons but I'd bet it started over food.
Bob - I love the way you caught the juvie yelling at the adult!
