Good Morning Steve & Sissy & Everyone Else!!
Have a Great Day!

I get to go have a root canal & that tooth doesn't even hurt any more...DUH? Maybe I can talk dentist out of it, but then I risk a flare up in couple weeks for granddaughter's wedding or Xmas. Oh well, "it is what it is"!

Costume Lady said...

Loretta, this seems to be the week for Eaglet Momsters dental work. Mine was pleasant in that my smile looks better.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Good morning everyone!

NatureNut said...

Hi Wanda, good for you on your dental work. I only had one other root canal & the nerve was dead, so no problem. Guess he'll "shoot me up"!!
Gotta check cam for our Beautiful Birds & hop in shower.

Good morning y'all. I'm going to mow the 4 acres today. Hope this is the last one for the season. Gods paintbursh is very colorful this fall. Might have to go for a color tour this weekend.

Helen, Verizon is acting up too...must be having an Election Hangover.;)

glo said...

Good morning everyone. Haven't read back so not sure if Lib and Belle have said good morning, but it surely is time for an appearance.

MITS said...

Well, Wanda, could be, but I don't have time today for this nonsense:(

Costume Lady said...

Hey, Red...how much is gas down your way now? Some places near here, it is $1.99. How long do you think it will stay at that price? It will shoot up as soon as the families start to travel for Thansgiving.

Costume Lady said...

All our lives would be sooo much better with gas at under $2.00 a gallon.

Red said...

Wanda, the cheapest I have seen here is still above $2. I paid $2.23 yesterday. Guess its higher here because we are closer to the refineries. lol

Costume Lady said...

I think gas is $2.39 here in Martinsburg, but 25 miles away in Winchester,Va. it is under $2.oo. Our daughters and grandchildren live in Winchester, so when we go to visit them, YOU CAN BET WE FILL UP!

grannyblt said...

Mornng all.

Turkeys at PA cam, no shows at ours and ME. Usual eagle fix at BWO.

grannyblt said...

Saw gas at $2.45 here last night when coming home from the election night pancake dinner. Maybe if I wait a few days it will be as low as you all have.

Normabyrd hasn't been here yet! Must be worn out from election day!

November 4th, 2008

The first measurable snowfall of the season today initiated a Pavlovian response from Primo. He showed up looking for food! If you’ve been checking in on this site you’re probably anxious to see some moose, but I have to admit I’ve enjoyed the unusually warm temps we’ve had here this fall while they UPDATE FROM MOOSE CAM

Good morning, everyone. I just checked the weather and my trip to the Hills is going to be delayed a day, BLIZZARD warnings for western SD. 8-14" of the white stuff with very high winds. For me here, they are only talking a couple of inches.

We were going to stay in Custer State Park, but I just canceled those reservations. I doubt the campgrounds will be in good shape, even if we wait a day.

WEDNESDAY UPDATE FROM ATLANTA....

Wednesday, November 5
Earlier this week we started giving Lun Lun access to more indoor space adjacent to the dens she and the cub normally occupy. During the day when Yang Yang and Mei Lan are outside, Lun Lun now has access to one of the dayrooms (which is on exhibit to Zoo visitors) from time to time. She seems to be enjoying the extra space so far and has made a few trips to the dayroom to eat bamboo. She always returns to the dens after about an hour to check on the cub.

It is possible that Lun Lun will take the cub into the dayroom, though we think it’s somewhat unlikely for her to choose to move him to such an open space. She did not seem to be comfortable having Mei Lan in the dayroom until she was over four months old. Lun Lun might surprise us, though. Some mothers are more protective of their first cub, and then are a little less protective of subsequent cubs.

You may notice that the hammock was removed from the dayroom. This way if she chooses to take the cub into the dayroom there will be no worries about her trying to put him in the hammock. Some of you may remember that this was a favorite nursing spot for Lun Lun and Mei Lan after Mei Lan started to be on exhibit regularly. This cub is still a little small to be in the hammock. We will put the hammock back up when he is older.

The cub’s weight yesterday was 3,078 grams.

Good morning! Sun shining and 76 here in Texas. The leaves are falling faster than I can mow them! We are getting a little color on the leaves now. You have a much prettier fall...well more trees as well! LOL

Gas is $1.89 here. Much easier to fill the van now.

Had a flock of doves in the yard this morning. They were everywhere. I heard them before I saw them.

hedgie said...

Hi all!
Dana, the second penquin link worked fine. Good rescue work, but the decreasing numbers are sad.
Hey, Dave...hope that DSL gets hooked up fast!! Will watch for your pics!
Gosh, some of you gals were up awfully early this am! Bet there will be some panda naps this afternoon for sure--except poor Margy; I heard her voice first thing this morning.
Deb, saw that weather on the map this morning and was worrying about you!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

looks like somebody got put in the corner at NZ. Is that Mei?

hedgie said...

Is Ceil MIA??? Don't recall seeing her on lately....
Great gas price, Lolly. Guess it helps to be close to the big refineries.
Do you want some more colorful leaves?? I'll gladly export!

Costume Lady said...

Yes, I have been missing Ceil, too Lynn. Taking GeeGee to get some new clothes soon, nothing fits her. BBL

hedgie said...

Hope your mom is easier to shop w/ than mine is, Wanda!!
My Hawaiian traveler just called! Exhausted from long trip yesterday, but weather is beautiful...of course! TSA messed up her luggage contents badly, including taking new toothbrush out of package and it is brown in color. She had to get new one in hotel last night. ALl cosmetics and her underwear were out of the plastic bags she had them in...luckily nothing leaked.

hedgie said...

Poor little Luney all alone and no bedding!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Lynn, he does not seem to be suffering much! :)

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

How was the zoo today Mits! Did Tai ask about me?

MITS said...

yes, first thing he asked me...where is Sharon???....It was a beautiful day at the zoo....I wish I would remember to take my camera.....standing at the top of the trail and looking at all the beautiful colors....and all the animals were out...it was a good day.

Costume Lady said...

LYNN...In answer to your question yesterday, yes, that would be Dr. Queen.

My Mom is fun to shop with, but she tires very quickly. She tried on four sweaters and 4 pairs of slacks. Only bought one sweater. It's hard to find anything that looks right on her tiny body.

hedgie said...

In case you hit the hay early tonight, Deb...have a great trip! Did you pack skis or snowshoes?? Stay safe.

Costume Lady said...

You were commenting on your daughter being searched at the airport...we had the same experience when we went to Hawaii, and that was back in the 70's. Some airports haven't changed much except for the extra charges for luggage. We had 11 pieces of luggage at no additional charge.
That is a VERY exhausting flight.

Costume Lady said...

I think Deb needs to take a snowmobile :)

hedgie said...

Wanda, Bill Queen is such a great guy. My kids and my ex all use him. I didn't because I was comfortable w/ Brookreson who has done excellently dealing w/ this scraredy cat; too many people from work went/go to Bill and I didn't want anyone to know what a checiken I am. (Bill worked at GM before he went to dental school).

hedgie said...

Gee, can't type tonight!! 'Scuse typos, please!!!

hedgie said...

My mom can't find anything to suit her taste to wear....she doesn't like jeans, but feels "too fat" for polyesters...and after so many years in FL, she can't seem to adjust to cold winter wear...she hates having to wear a coat!

Costume Lady said...

Yes, Lynn, Dr. Bill is a super nice person and does excellent work for a man who used to work for General Motors ;) I have been going to him since 1984.

hedgie said...

Yes, Wanda, it is grueling. Don't think I could do it. They changed planes at LAX--which she said is the filthiest airport she ever saw--and had to change terminals and go through security a second time.

MITS said...

Costume Lady said...

How old is your Mom, Lynn...or does she keep her age off-limits?

hedgie said...

They stay at some hotel that is partly reserved for military so my ex gets them in there at a reduced rate...she was so upset over their room, they got it changed today! She's my gutsy kid...really don't know where she got it. Her hubby doesn't really like it...but, hey, no guts, no glory!

hedgie said...

Mom is 89, Wanda.

hedgie said...

Her mother made it to 96, and her dad to 94! Such longevity!! Seriously doubt I'll ever make that!

Costume Lady said...

Oh my goodness, a lot of we Momsters have mothers in their late 80's. We are so fortunate to still have them.

Costume Lady said...

My Mother's Mother lived to be 94 and my Dad's Mother lived to be 92. I plan on outliving all of them :) :)

Costume Lady said...

Helen, looks like we stopped watching the cam too soon. I see where Sissy saw both of our eagles a few minutes after I left to fix supper. Did you leave too, or did you get to see them?

hedgie said...

You go, girlfriend!! I have no doubt that you'll make it to 100!!

Costume Lady said...

Going to watch some TV. BBL

hedgie said...

Guess I'd better go get ready to watch Jeopardy. BBL!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I am all alone this evening. Mattie went to stay with Sher, Andrew is at work, Tom is at work. I have already given my pound of flesh today. Gonna go catch up on some of the stuff on my DVR. It gets backed up sometimes.
