Sunday, November 9 Now that the cub's coat is full and wooly, he is able to maintain his body temperature without external help. He no longer needs Lun Lun to hold him or a nest box full of bedding materials to keep him warm. This is important because Lun Lun now prefers to move the cub into different areas in the dens. Because he has a warm coat, the cub can rest comfortably wherever Lun Lun places him. It would be impossible to keep bedding in every inch of the dens; Lun Lun likes to just push it off into the corners. The cub does not seem to mind sleeping or scooting around on the bare floor. In fact, Lun Lun, Yang Yang and Mei Lan all prefer to rest on the bare floor rather than any type of bedding we offer. Because of this, we typically only provide bedding materials periodically for enrichment and they rarely, if ever, actually sleep on them. Giant pandas have dense coats that allow them to live in harsh, mountain conditions and prefer cool temperatures, so it seems that they get too warm sleeping on bedding.
The cub's latest weight is 3281 grams, which is a 93 grams increase in a 24-hour period.
I have been checking some sites I haven't looked at for awhile & see that at Delta cam, some forum folks have heard eagles but not seen any at the nest. There is big crater in nest also---needs lots of nestoration if they use it again! Tesoro FL eaglet, Birdie, who had come to N. Chesapeake Bay returned to FL in Oct! Quite an adventurer. Snowman cam has deer, PA Pix was MT. Gotta check Moose ☺☺☺☺

It was good, the sun came out and it was a beautiful day. I saw 4 BE, lots of r-t hawks, mergansers, gulls and flying snow geese. One juvie posed so nice for me. I will work on the pictures later. Time for dinner.
Thanks you all for all the prayers. Thelma is going to be with Sher Wednesday when she has the surgery but she can't stay. We will know more about the arrangements tomorrow, so then I will try to work around that.
I'm afraid, Paulleo, that we will be seeing snow from our respective sunrooms sooner rather than later! Hate the stuff, but do have to admit that it makes the sunroom feel so snug!!
Wow, I see the snow on the deer at the snowman cam...glad it's there and not here.
All is progressing, Mits, thanks for asking. Mom is out of ICU...they are pumping her full of antibiotics. Not sure when she'll be released, but she is feeling good and eating well, so it could be worse! Love Surburban Hospital, staff and all is terrific.
Been awhile since I've been to Charlottesville, Sissy...Wanda will know...that's where her grandson was hospitalized back in the summer. I'm thinking maybe 3 hrs. Try to get a good night's rest, Panda girl. Blessings for your family.
Paula glad your mom is doing better. Mits was not at Suburban. She was at Sibley for her hernia operation. Sissy I know you have left for the night but prayers for you and Tom and his family. Lots of prayer going out to night. For Margy's friend. For Jo and Ed's family. For Sharon's upcoming operation.
For those of you who use the Kent Forum from time to time, you will need to reregister. They are starting over, it seems someone was posting some unacceptable content.
Candy - you were talking about MRSA that your son had in his nose. Apparently this is where my Mom's is also. I'm not sure if it's in her urinary tract too or not. Now tonight they gave her medication in her nose, too. She is in isolation at the hospital...TG Medicare will pay for the private room. You have to put on a mask, gown and gloves to go in. I guess your son was carrying it, but it didn't make him sick? They said this could occur as well.
yes, thanks Ceil....Paula my doctors who I adore didn't go to Suburban....and I had already had 2 hernia and a gallbladder surgery there, and was not happy with the surgeons, but still love the hospital and staff, and my internist has privileges there

Margy, I was just thinking on those same lines....when one of us is ill or has a problem, dozens of arms immediately go around us. It is like an invisable shield, but you can truly feel it.
Many, many prayers going out tonight for so many in our fold. God bless each and every one. Peaceful slumber for those turning in, and quiet shift for Margy. ♥♥
I was just reading back through the comments (when Dustin is here, I miss a lot) and saw the link to the STURGIS CAM...Wow! It has been a lot of years since we have had snow like that...hope we never have that much again!
Wanda - brother'in-law's nephew, ended his life Sunday around noon- time, so I am not really family per se, but I am in a way, but referred to them as close family in my Yahoo to the Eaglet group Sunday....He was about 33 years old. An utter tragedy... I had not put it on the Blog until right now. Thanks for asking...
Wanda - It is a tragedy beyond comprehension. I have seen some of that in my past years at the Rescue Squad...a being in total despair, in most cases. All different ages, both male and female.
Unfortunately, this kind of sorrow has touched many of our lives.

Eagle in MAINE!
Not sure when it came in, I was feeding the dogs.
I believe it is the male, skinny head and neck.
I checked the Maine forum, flew in with brunch, figure he is waiting for the female. Just flew up to a branch.

Gotta check Moose ☺☺☺☺
is that the one where they talk about the KENT nest, Loretta?
SNOWMAN CAM FORCAST....
Now

Snow may be heavy at times. Temperature around 27. West winds around 10 mph. At 12 am...snow showers. Snow may be heavy at times. Temperature around 27. West winds around 10 mph.
Delta was the one with the live cam, both eaglets fell from the nest, but both were ok and released. I think they did talk about Kent there.
That's right, thanks, Deb....how was your day?
It was good, the sun came out and it was a beautiful day. I saw 4 BE, lots of r-t hawks, mergansers, gulls and flying snow geese. One juvie posed so nice for me. I will work on the pictures later. Time for dinner.
Sissy and Tom,
You have my thoughts and prayers for the loss of Doug. Sissy, it will come to you whatever is best for you and your family.
Margy, prayers for your good friend's family.
ALCOA FALCON CAM
looks like only 2 chicks now
Evening, all.
Glad to see some folks on here we haven't seen in a couple of days.
SNOWMAN CAM... Looks like about 1 inch of snow on the ground but it looks like 2 or 3 inches on the table where the cat is.
When I was watching the three deer gave up trying to find food in the snow. Maybe one of them in the background was a buck.
That snow made me feel so cold that I had to turn up the heat in the sunroom where my computers are!
Pleasant Dreams!!
Hello Paula, how is everything?
yes Paul, have been watching snowman cam , deer have snow on their backs, waiting for them to shake it off
Thanks you all for all the prayers. Thelma is going to be with Sher Wednesday when she has the surgery but she can't stay. We will know more about the arrangements tomorrow, so then I will try to work around that.
God will provide a solution, I am sure.
Again, thank you all so much!
I'm afraid, Paulleo, that we will be seeing snow from our respective sunrooms sooner rather than later! Hate the stuff, but do have to admit that it makes the sunroom feel so snug!!
off to wait for COLD CASE to come on...bbl
wish you all lived closer, Sissy!
That's comforting, Sissy. Maybe some of us could come be with her. Just say the word!
Me too Mits, me too!!
Thanks Lynn!! I may take you up on that offer. How far is Charlottesville from ya'll? It is a pretty good ways, ain't it?
Wow, I see the snow on the deer at the snowman cam...glad it's there and not here.
All is progressing, Mits, thanks for asking. Mom is out of ICU...they are pumping her full of antibiotics. Not sure when she'll be released, but she is feeling good and eating well, so it could be worse! Love Surburban Hospital, staff and all is terrific.
Paula, so glad to hear your mom is getting better. MRSA is tough stuff, glad she is doing so well.
Gonna go try to get some sleep. Been a long day with a lot of long days ahead. This is just so awful, so awful.
Sissy, will be keeping you and Tom and his family, and Sharon as well in my prayers tonight.
Thanks Paula, you and yours are in ours as well. God bless us everyone!!
Glad they are treating your Mom good there, Paula...know if I ever have a stroke or heart attack that is where I want to go.
I can't remember, did you go there for your hernia surgery, Mits?
Aah, thanks Ceil.
Oh, and thanks for the info Deb. Haven't been over there in awhile.
Good Evening to the evening people. Paula, I like this: Feeling Good and Eating Well. Good combination for recovery.
It is so good we can all hold each other close across the continent and overseas, to help get through the difficult times.
Sleep well, all, I'll be up for the next eight hours or so, catch you in the New Morning.
God Bless Us, Every One
Peace, and Prayers
x ♥ o
Hope you have a quiet night, Margy
yes, thanks Ceil....Paula my doctors who I adore didn't go to Suburban....and I had already had 2 hernia and a gallbladder surgery there, and was not happy with the surgeons, but still love the hospital and staff, and my internist has privileges there
Good Evening - Wanted to see you all before you left for the evening.
I am so very shortly headed to bed - another trip over the mountain tomorrow morning.
Prayers going out for everyone!
Try to have a peaceful sleep -
(((( HUGS ))))
Margy, I was just thinking on those same lines....when one of us is ill or has a problem, dozens of arms immediately go around us. It is like an invisable shield, but you can truly feel it.
lol...Wanda, sometimes I feel a hand over my mouth;)
Right back at you, Jo.
((Hugs))
LMBO!Helen
Many, many prayers going out tonight for so many in our fold. God bless each and every one. Peaceful slumber for those turning in, and quiet shift for Margy. ♥♥
Charlottesville is just about 3 hours away from Martinsburg. It is a nice drive. Hmmmmm.
Jo, safe travels to you tomorrow and ((hugs)) and prayers headed your way as well.
Night, all...gotta get some rest. See you tommorrow.
Prayers for all our Eaglet Momsters and Dadsters in need.
So many of us in need of prayer tonight:
Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. Psalm 55:17
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SLEEP TIGHT
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Good night, everyone. Prayers for Jo, Ed and Family; Sissy, Tom and family; Paula and Mom; Sharon; Margy's friends.
***GOOD NIGHT, FOLKS***
Rest easy and look to a better tomorrow...

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE....
WE HAVE AN EAGLE IN OUR NEST!
He is either gone now, or hiding under Spidey's web.
Empty Nest :(
Another quick tease visit, eh?
They better come back!
I was just reading back through the comments (when Dustin is here, I miss a lot) and saw the link to the STURGIS CAM...Wow! It has been a lot of years since we have had snow like that...hope we never have that much again!
GOOD MORNING, MARGY.
I read that you had some sad news about friends...I cannot find what happened. Only something about dead possums.
Luney's cam is showing a blank screen :(
I meant to say, Wanda, close family friends - I was close to all of them through my sister who died in December.
Taking one's own life has always been a mystery to me...how SAD that person must be to not want to live anymore.
I too, had a Nephew who ended his own life...it was very tragic! He was only 19 years old.
Drugs and family problems.
Eagle at BWO -
Wanda - It is a tragedy beyond comprehension. I have seen some of that in my past years at the Rescue Squad...a being in total despair, in most cases. All different ages, both male and female.
Unfortunately, this kind of sorrow has touched many of our lives.
Bushty Tail Party in Pennsylvania...
And a lot of snow at the Snow Cam.
STEVE So glad things seem to have been well-attended over the week-end for the Film Festival.
I WANDERED OFF TO MY EMAIL AND CAME BACK TO A NEW THREAD....COME ON OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
