Nice new pics, Deb. Glad you feel well this morning! I had a red-headed woodpecker attacking my soffet this am....shooed him off! And watched a pileated giving a tree heck. Wonder why/how THEY don't get headaches????
Norma, it's my camera, a lot of luck and then pleading with my subject to pose for me. Woodpecker just wouldn't listen and turn it's head no matter how much I asked!
Good Morning Everyone in the Momster/Dadster World! Margy catches some great pics in the early morning hours.I haven't gone through all emails yet. Glad you got one of Finney's nest, Helen.
Norma, Hubby & Jenny went by the Potomac Eagle on Sat & said it was packed - Was a beautiful day but they were headed to nursing home for hubby's dad. Paula, so grateful that your mom is showing improvements. I know you and your brother keep her spirits up! My son on his way over for us to try to get web up in Germany.
Hi Lynn - Are all your leaves down yet? Hubby is out with riding mower picking up & dumping ours way back in the yard. Hi there Dana - sounded like you really enjoyed the Halloween kids coming by. I only had a handful - not even 10! Our neighborhood has grown up and are HS or College!
Oh Jo did you seen back in comments where Nilla was on here?
I have been doing a lot of things to help my Mom out. We were hungry the other day. Stopped in a resturant and heard someone call my name. By george it was Nilla!! So Mom and me set with her an ate our lunch. Been awhile since I had seen Nilla.
Jo I thought of you and Nilla jumping in that jeep. Heading for the Eagles at NCTC. lol
Happy Fall Ahead Day!! Spent most of yesterday trying to debug 'puter. Ran a couple Free scans that took about 2 hrs. each, then tried System Restore, but it wouldn't go back to before the date I got the BAD popup that I now read others have gotten. Guess I'll wait for techie SIL & daughter to arrive in 2 weeks for granddaughter's wedding. Today I'm starting to "shovel" the house & vet came this AM to give Baby kitty a couple shots.Have only checked our nest so far & gotta eat lunch. BBL
Sunday, November 2 Giant pandas have many, many mucous producing cells lining their gastrointestinal tracts. This is an adaptation for eating bamboo. The mucous lining protects their gastrointestinal tracts from injury which could be caused by the sharp pieces of bamboo they consume. Periodically, a giant panda sheds this lining, resulting in something we call a mucous stool or mucoid. When this happens, the panda will stop eating for several hours and rest curled up in a tight ball until defecating a mucous stool. Afterwards, the panda resumes its normal activities as if nothing had happened. I do not know if it is typical, but Yang Yang and Lun Lun usually pass mucous stools in the morning and are back to their normal activities by lunchtime at the latest. Yesterday morning, Lun Lun went through this process. The previous night, I noticed that she slept more than usual and even slept through breakfast (highly unusual for the nursing mother!). However, after she passed two mucous stools, her behavior made sense. Since Lun Lun has had the cub, it is more difficult to know that she is in the process of passing a mucous stool because she still cares for the cub as normal.
Good morning everyone. Looks like the day is off to an abosultely beautiful time across the country. Camera bugs are out and photos are being shared. Sure helps to enjoy so much of nature as we wait for the glimpse's of our Royal pair.
I love Fall...Color and wildlife everywhere.

mason had his sisters and aunt kim & uncle bill visiting today. we all sat by the pond - bridget and pops played guitar for mason. he has had a low key day.
we showed him the video from his fundraiser at the clarion this afternoon, and it seemed to hold his attention.
any video shout outs -- videos with mason's family/friends sayin' hey, tellin' stories, who they are etc would be awesome. i know its hard to come out to PA for many reasons -- but videos & photos would be great too!
thanks to brazilian greg for the dark angel ~ that definetely caught mason's eye......
As a matter of fact, Deb, we did get enough light rain to perk up the Geraniums and deposit some shallow puddles in the area...could possibly get a little more later.
Nothing was predicted on the Weather Channel, so I am grateful. Everything is kind of crisp and fresh around here for the moment.
UPDATE: Nov. 2, 2008: First pass at relocating camera. I'll position and focus it better later. I don't want to harass her too much (plus, it's raining)
Back Mits, back at end of Aug., I got a full page "supposed ad" popup for Anti-Virus 2009 and some for AV 2008. It said it would scan your 'puter & find viruses. It started a red line scan mark across top of page w/out any prompting. I was fast enough each time to hit the red X. Yesterday, AOL News had an MS story about a "hole" they had found in Windows & sent out patch in updates. There was a Comment section & several people talked about getting that same malware I did. One man threw his small, xtra 'puter away. Another had a geek work on his for 3 days! The other suggestions I followed yesterday to no avail. Same glitches appear. On startup, My Registry can't open & sends error message. Original AOL (not on IE)partially opens & can't be removed except by Task Mgr. And especially when trying to attach pics to this blog, AOL pops on constantly.I can't disable Quick Start, 'cuz it can't come all the way on. Just some little annoyances! LOL
Whew! I think I got all my clocks and watches reset. This is the one time I really like Standard Time...when I gain an hour in the Fall. Otherwise, it gets dark way too early for me.
I wonder where the CHUNK OF JUNK will land! Better be in the Ocean! It is I think, what has been listed as the Early Ammonia Server on the NASA satellite tracking site for several months now...had read about it before, I think it was part of an Oxygen Repair something or other for the ISS...
Does anyone remember the Sky Lab Parties back in the early 80's ?
What a great Tai pic!Looks like he could be talking!!
P.S. Don't know if this is a tip or not, but when free "Ad-Aware" was scanning yesterday, it started to "detect" possible bugs all of a sudden when it got to Cookies. Found total of 602.And this was the 2nd different scan I did! So I deleted the Cookies.
Nature Nut: You surely are diligent....with all the computer things... I would rolled over and given up long ago... Hope all the Bugs and Cookies go away...Soon !
Got Maine Cam back up....kinda quiet there right now.
My days off are coming up....I expect to spend some time on Glo's Site!
...and going through a ton of Yahoos...
I'm going to try to learn how to get a way to post my pictures maybe on my Profile page one of these days...so I don't glut up the Yahoo page too much....wonder how long it will take me to do that...?
It sounds like your Windows replaced your software using the "Restore Points" from an earlier time...hence the earlier version of AOL...when it discovered it couldn't use the Registry from the current setup.
As for the AOL, you should download the newest version again, saving your personal info, and then go into Windows Explorer, locate the old version and delete it. [You can delete AOL also by going to "Control Panel" and then to "Add, Delete programs". When you click on AOL, it will bring a box up where you can chose which version to delete.]
As for Windows, if you are still having troubles and your machine is still acting up, contact your manufacturer. Even after the warranty, Dell told me how to restore the whole system on the phone, walked me through it, for $39.00,
Get anti-spyware, if you don't have it already, and scan frequently.
Me Too! This morning, DEB, there was an incredible Crow Shouting event, I would love to have seen what was going on...and one lone eagle bleating in the background, then all got quiet, and the Eagle came to the nest with some Chow... flew up to a branch, and away he or she went! I hope we get a visit at NCTC this evening, soon as I leave for work in a little bit.
Thursday October 30, 2008 We are proud to announce Alcoa Anglesea's three falcon chicks for 2008; Midnight, Rocket and Stan. Those watching the webcam would've seen Victor Hurley from the Victorian Peregrine Project and Elise Jeffery, Environmental Scientist at Alcoa at the nest box at 9.30AM EDST. The visit was quick as both Sheila and Havoc were relentless in their swooping (and striking) behaviour. Chin straps are no longer optional! Grade 2 students for the Anglesea Primary School were on the ground to witness the measurement, health check and banding of the three male chicks. Here is Stan showing off his new shiny bands. Three students from the school, Myee, Klara and Emily, had their names chosen from the class list for this year's chicks. Well done girls! Meanwhile Sheila waited patiently at the nest box for her boys to be returned safe and sound
Thanks for Okie cam link, Margy (who is now working!). Hadn't heard about it before. Spent the afternoon helping my daughter/SIL try to get sighted in to new satellite internet--called SkywayUSA. THink we got it, but now have to wait for business office to open tomorrow to activate---won't be sure until then!
Will have to try to get onto the s Glo's Glimpses thing she told us about...I wasn't sure what it was all about when I had visited her page before. Interesting story about the panda and the mucous stools. As I always say...learn something new every day!
No, Jo, leaves aren't done....wind picked up yesterday so it would have been fruitless. Did the decks and by noon they were covered again. And I don't like making that noise on Sunday, so nothing today...plus wasn't hope all afternoon. WILL get back on it tomorrow....and then hopefully only once more after that. Guy next door used mower/bagger apparatus yesterday and air was so clouded w/ dust that couldn't see his house...and then noticed his vehicles were covered w/ it! I can't deal w/ that, plus I don't have the strength to dump the attachment....so I just blow w/ the electric leaf blower.
Hedgie Let me know if you need som ehelp getting subscribed to the feed. Just go to the site by clicking my name. Add your email where it asks for it. Immediately it will send you a verification email so they know its a human and not a spammer. You have to verify the email to get the Feed. They go out ususally in the middle of the night. You will see any new feeds in your email in the morning.
Good for you Hedgie Thanks welcome aboard. Just wait til the real eagles start to fly. It makes winter very bearable. I get excited just thinking about it.
Jim, if you come back on, thx for the tips. I might try the new AOL again & get rid of old ones. I go into Control Panel to Remove---been there, done that!!LOL Def have anti-spyware as well as anti-virus. Old computer runs great, guess 'cuz I haven't used it to visit all these sights or save lots of stuff!I have Dell, too & found out can't get any live help from AOL anymore since it's now free & we haven't p-aid them since we got FIOS a year ago. Enough about that! Saw hummingbird--she is even bigger than the nest! Missed our birds--was cooking dinner.
Army Wives season finale was kind of a let-down. Cliffhangers, but not the kind the hype led us to believe it would be. Oh, well...!! Go Ravens!! Skins play tomorrow night, and then have a bye next weekend. Calling it a night. See you all tomorrow. Blessings for all.
Paula, how was your Mom today? Is she able to stand a little longer now? Is she eating more now? It is a long, slow process, but she is getting there. We all are keeping her and you in our prayers. We took my Mom to brunch today after church and she ate everything on her plate. She said her appetite is really good now.
Wanda - thanks for asking. Mom's regular physical therapist is not in on the weekends...Saturday was a sub...so she didn't stand yesterday...hopes to do more tomorrow...she also gets weighed again tomorrow...hope she has gained some...she has been eating...but may have an infection that is causing her to lose weight...they are testing..no results yet.
Good morning Wanda, Sissy and Deb. I thought that looked like an eagle in our nest, but with all the spiderwebs I wash't sure. How exciting. Here's hoping the other one will show.
Morning Wanda, Deb, and Candy! We had a wonderful weekend, just too short. The weather could not have been more beautiful. Had a chance to see a lot of old friends and visit. Just wonderful.
And two again. I have really had my eagle fix for the day to get started. And one again. Oatmeal is done in the microwave, so it is on to getting ready for school. And two again. I wish they would make up their minds. I hope you all had a very nice weekend and will have a wonderful sunny day today.
Good morning everyone. I can't sleep either. Hmmm. Saw sunrise yesterday and will see it again today. Now that part is nice but the can't sleep part isn't so nice . And looks like I missed our eagles too. I do have trea sitting here though i am sure that will help.

Gas here is 2.99 a gal. but, in Winchester, Va. (just 25 mi. down the road)
it is 2.75.

I just thought that with all the high gas prices we have had. It is neat seeing that from 1 year and 4 months ago. WE ARE ACTUALLY CHEAPER NOW...

I hope we get a visit at NCTC this evening, soon as I leave for work in a little bit.
Great Heron Pic, Thanks!

3 Australian falcon chicks are male:)
Thursday October 30, 2008
We are proud to announce Alcoa Anglesea's three falcon chicks for 2008; Midnight, Rocket and Stan.
Meanwhile Sheila waited patiently at the nest box for her boys to be returned safe and sound
deer are visiting the snowman cam:)
As I always say...learn something new every day!
those deer really took off in a flash on snowman cam

Cool Wanda welcome aboard. I hope you will enjoy it.

YEAH! YOU GO RAVENS! YOU GO!
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE

Good morning all!!
We have an eagle in our nest this morning!!
YES WE DO! Good Morning Sissy...how was your weekend?
I wonder what that is all about...looks like a thick fog just dropped in.
Eagle is still there. Can't tell which one it is...Spidey's web is still glowing.
Good Morning, couldn't sleep, so I got up to see an eagle and a spider!
Eagle at BWO
Good morning Wanda, Sissy and Deb. I thought that looked like an eagle in our nest, but with all the spiderwebs I wash't sure. How exciting. Here's hoping the other one will show.
2 eagles now at BWO
And then only one. :)
Good Morning, Deb and Candy. I wish one of those eagles would eat Spidey!
Morning Wanda, Deb, and Candy! We had a wonderful weekend, just too short. The weather could not have been more beautiful. Had a chance to see a lot of old friends and visit. Just wonderful.
I keep hearing the eagle at Maine but haven't seen it yet.
And two again. I have really had my eagle fix for the day to get started. And one again. Oatmeal is done in the microwave, so it is on to getting ready for school. And two again. I wish they would make up their minds. I hope you all had a very nice weekend and will have a wonderful sunny day today.
I wonder if there is a juvie around at BWO, in and out.
Helen was wondering why Spiders don't Migrate ;)
Have a good day, Candy, with all those little cuties.
WANDA It sure would be wonderful if spidey would get eaten aand then the wind would blow the web away.
SISSY Glad to hear you had a nice weekend, good weather, and meeting good friends.
And now I really must scoot if I am going to have breakfast before I start out. All have a good day. Wish I could stay here and enjoy it with you.
It was a beautiful weekend to get away. Couldn't have asked for better.
Now we can see our eagle, I think it is Lib.
There's a good view of our eagle.
COME BACK! All gone.
And gone! Too bad the spider and the web blocked most of the visit.
That is a weird sound coming from the Maine nest.
Going to turn the coffee pot on. BBL
Good morning everyone. I can't sleep either. Hmmm. Saw sunrise yesterday and will see it again today. Now that part is nice but the can't sleep part isn't so nice . And looks like I missed our eagles too. I do have trea sitting here though i am sure that will help.
