She's doing good...they took her off the vent yesterday...she was talking yesterday afternoon and got to eat last night.
They diagnosed the bacteria...it's MRSA, a nasty staff infection...will need several weeks of antibiotics to clear it up. Hopefully they will discharge her in a couple of days...
Happy Saturday to all. Saw an eagle here flying down the River & then he came back up & maybe landed in a tree, but couldn't see where. So that was a good morning & now rain has ended. Best Wishes for Paula's Mom.
I mowed my yard and mulched up leaves on Wednesday. Yesterday we had rain and wind and my driveway is covered now. Guess I'll have to mulch again when it drys. Photo of driveway is on my blog.
RED, do you have a grandson that can help you out? I didn't realize how much he could help me til about 2 weeks ago. I was afraid to turn him loose with a push mower for fear he would mow his toes or fingers off. I have posted a photo of him mowing my driveway about 45 minutes ago.
Yes Wanda I have two grandsons but neither are close enough to help. They are in Kansas City. And by the way I have Great Grandsons too. Also in Kansas City.
Interested in your mothers diagonisis. Josh just a few weeks ago was diagnosed with the same bacteria or whatever in his nose. It used to just be in hospitals, but is now spreading outside in the population. He was a few weeks taking a very expensive antibiotic but has cleared up nicely. Glad to hear that she was diagnosed and is now starting her recovery. We still don't know where Josh picked it up. It was a nasty thing inside his nose.
You might be interested to know that it appears from the pictures I've seen that the Alcoa eyasses, which are on the Alcoa building in the SE corner of AU, are about to fledge.
Talk to you all later. Got to take care of business now.
Sorry I haven't been on much again this week, but have been checking on the nests at school from time to ttime. Wednesday saw me starting the bug or something and I didn't work Thursday. Went back never got to finish this as my sister called. When she gets on the phone she talks, which is usually every night.
I guess I am not supposed to learn that new trick.
I have to start getting ready to go for a spaghetti supper at my husband's fire station, so guess I had better get going. You all have a nice evening. Maybe I'll look into the symbols tomorrow and see if I can educate myself. Later gators.
UPDATE ON LUNEY...Saturday, November 8 On Friday morning the cub received a physical exam. Dr. Sam Rivera gave the cub his first distemper vaccine, weighed him and took some body measurements. As usual, the cub did not mind the examination and did not even seem to notice the vaccination - he is a laid back little guy. The cub is in excellent condition, growing steadily and at a healthy weight. He is now 49.5 cm from nose to the base of his tail and his tail is 6.5 cm long. His neck and chest girths are 27.8 cm and 39.5 cm, respectively. His nose is still tiny at 3.5 cm wide. And of course last, but definitely not least, my favorite: his abdominal girth is 45 cm (almost 1.5 feet!).
We typically weigh the cub in the late afternoon; however, on this day he was weighed in the morning, so his weight gain will be slightly skewed because it does not reflect a 24-hour period. On Friday morning the cub weighed 3188 grams, just breaching the 7 pound mark.
Also, today the cub is 70 days old. Only 30 more days until he is named!
Sometimes they are frustrating, though. I am getting more used to it now, but at first it was hard to switch over. After so many years on a PC and being able to do just about anything, I had to learn so much all over again.
out of that whole list of alt characters I have, might use 4 of them....I don't like sliding out my keyboard unless I'm using the numbers to use my credit card
I was outside with no shoes on Wednesday, today, hat, gloves, heavy coat. The temp isn't that bad, but the wind is so strong. I think it feels colder, too, because we didn't get time to adjust. It is better to go down gradually, not all at once.
We are forecast for 57 next Friday, but that is a long way off. It will probably change before then. I need just a little more fall, before winter sets in.
Pa. is deserted too. Did I see where we had a visit to our nest by our beautiful eagles later in the afternoon? I can't wait until they start nestorations again, but it is still nice that the cam is working so we can see them from time to time.
Hi gang. My blower and the wind dueled, so I gave up. Will have to wait and see what Mon. weather is like. Argh! Got into a lot of other little chores..stripped bed; cleaned glass on hutch; packed a bag for Goodwill; made some phone calls for retirees Christmas luncheon......and caught up on some taped shows. Still need to call "the momma" and find out what the weather is like in Missouri. Sure glad we aren't in Cuba!!! Can you believe that lil Luney is nearly 2 feet long (not counting tail)???
technically he is not supposed to be feeding the deer, but they come around anyhow...guys' name is Ken, who takes care of this cam, I think...just from reading their chat room
Hedgie, you really have kept yourself very busy today. You tired me out just reading about it. :) We really have been sooooo lucky this year on the east coast as far as hurricanes go.
MITS< Thanks for the update on baby Luney. j I haven't been able to look in on him much lately either. I do turn him on at school for the kids to see when they come in in the morning, but I have to keep refreshing, and I forget.
there has been a coastal storm down ocean city all week...high surf, high winds, around 50mph one day...really have to make plans to get down there soon just to check things out, and need to get fireplace cleaned before winter sets in
Oh, Candy...if only that were true!! I'm not able to do much at a given time. Don't have the air to really exert. But once upon a time, when battling time constraints of work, I was a whirling dervish getting things done. My girls still say I make them tired and where do I get my energy....but I have learned that I have to pace myself, and stop trying to be super-housekeeper!!!
MITS Maybe that is the storm that went through here on Tuesday. We got 6 to 8 inches of rain overnight and schools were closed for one day because of flooding. I woke up that morning and they were calling school off. It really surprised me as I didn't even know there was a storm out there.
My Mom and Dad would get deer in their yard up north, as they would put cracked corn out for the turkeys, etc, and had a small pond dug out for the animals to drink from.
HEDGIE I just hate to clean. I get off work and what do I do on my Saturdays, but clean and wash clothes. :(
MITS That would be nice to have a live cam off your porch at the beach. It would put your mind at ease better when storms passed it by to see all was ok or not.
I go down as often as I can during the winter, it is wonderful especially at Christmas time...all the nice lights, and going to the small town of Berlin, to do Christmas shopping...they only have one main street, and they play Christmas music, and all the stores have cider and cookies....real relaxing way to shop
Oh how I miss my fireplace that I had in my house up north. It was so warm and cozy on cold winter nights, and being as we cleared our property ourselves, we had plenty of firewood to burn. BUT we had to stop using it when our son was diagnosed with bronchial asthma at 4:( No more fireplace. It heated up our living room and went right down our hall into the bedrooms.
Talking about Christmas music, I have started seeing the first Christmas commercials on the TV. It is hard to believe that the year has gone by so fast. I haven't even thought about Thanksgiving yet. Now that Josh is married, I don't know if they will be coming here or going to her house or what. Time will tell.
Yepper I am home and boy am I all done in! I knew if I hit my comfy chair before saying Hello, that you wouldn't have heard from me until morning!
Ed & I had the bestest 50th Wedding Anniversary Luncheon with family & friends ever. The most fun was had with the slid show put together of our 50 years! The older photos really got some laughs especially from our kids! It was a wonderful event!
Can't promise to say much more then that... photos aren't available yet! ((hugs))
True, Jo!!! My youngest got so tired of the hassle of being expected everywhere (parents of them both divorced, which meant 4 invites!) that they took off last year and went to his grandma's downstate!
HI JO! I hope you had a wonderful day for your 50th anniversary. MITS Her mother lives over on the mainland from here MITS and she has been taking over mostly everything. I just sit back and watch. They are in Greenville,NC right now but I think this weekend they were supposed to go to the Raleigh area to look for apartments and jobs. I still can't believe that he left his job in Winchester; especially at this time with people getting layed off. The MIL just kept saying to me that it would be ok. Everything would be ok. :( Greenville is about 2 and a half hours from here and Raleigh is about 3 and a half to four. I haven't had the chance to ride that way since they have made most of the route a 4 lane highway. It used to take me 5and a half hours to get to Chapel Hill.
That is why I am sitting back and letting go. I don't want to make them choose. I don't call often either. I had to the other day to let him know that a part for his computer came to the house.
One racoon in Pa. Came to welcome you on the blog JO. I just hope James and I can make 50 years; we have been together for 44 this year.
WHOOPEEEE! My husband just came in from the spaghetti dinner and said that I had won the 50-50 for 200.00! Can't believe that I finally won something. :):):)
Well, I sure couldn't tell what Deb's symbols were...they just looked like little boxes to me .... barrels almost...I didn't even know that IE stood for Internet Explorer until someone spelled it out today...so how do I view Deb's snowman and demitasse cups of coffee?
HEDGIE: Whirling Dervish, what a great expression!
That's Way Cool, Deb...I like the picture of the American Flag very much...and the crumpled swingset is unbelievable. See they had big snows in May too ! Very nice, thanks!
Yes, all the animal photos are fun! Including the one of the dog on the inside looking out... Well, some follks might be headed for their roosts for the night, go Good Night In Advance in case I miss you. I am over on Yahoo trying to catch up on emails there for a little longer...
Margy, you are so smart....I never gave the Sturgis cam a thought...that street sure looks a lot smaller than it did in bike week...also looks impassable!!! Great photo link, Deb. Sure glad that mess isn't here...and hope it doesn't come! We've been so lucky the last two winters....hope it holds.
I see Deb is home safe and sound. I think Jo, fizzled out on us a long time ago. A BIG DAY FOR SHE AND ED. mY PUTER IS GIVING ME A FIT! When I type something, it doesn't show up for about 10 seconds. It has been doing this for a few days now. Karla said I may need a new keyboard. If you don't hear from me for a while...you'll know this thing has stopped typing altogether.
That would "on call" this week. My computer just started getting a little squirrelly too, Wanda...I think the "characters" might be slowing my refreshes down a little, not you guy... THE OTHER CHARACTERS !! That's part plagiarism, someone joked about us Characters earlier..sorry I can't remember who it was....
LOL...since retiring, most mornings are No Alarm days, and I sure don't like it when I DO have to set it...except for great occasions like Open House!!
Oh and a good morning to DUSTIN. Don't figure he is on here; must be playing his computer games instead. WANDA you and the others are so lucky to have grandchildren to come and visit. By the time Josh and his new bride decide if they will have children, I will probably be a dead duck. :( Oh well, I still have all those "lovely" children in kindergarten! :) lol At least I am getting paid for watching them and they do go home at night too. :)

morning, Paula, How is your Mom doing today?
She's doing good...they took her off the vent yesterday...she was talking yesterday afternoon and got to eat last night.
They diagnosed the bacteria...it's MRSA, a nasty staff infection...will need several weeks of antibiotics to clear it up. Hopefully they will discharge her in a couple of days...
Just realized I was missing ½ my special characters list!

antibiotics should do the trick.
Jo, so sorry to hear about your FIL.

Surprise, surprise----we just saw a monarch butterfly & awhile ago also saw a pileated woodpecker flying across the road!!!☺ ☺ ☺
Hey, those squares were supposed to be Happy Faces :) :) :)
I see happy faces....my monarchs have been here all week, guess they might not make their migration...
Loretta, if you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer for your browser you will see squares instead of smilies. Foxfire works better.
Good afternoon my eagle blog friends AND A VERY HAPPY 50TH ANNIVERSARY TO JO AND ED!! That is quite awhile and I wish you much happiness today and everyday.

Does anyone else at Maine cam on?
Is it showing the night image? Rather than the color one for day?
Ok ladies. Where are all the cute things coming from like hearts and faces?
I think on my mac, I won't get any little characters, all I see are numbers.
222
I see Red is rooting for the Crimson Tide. UNC just beat Georgia Tech and Norma will be rooting on her EEeeiiiirrrssss later this evening.
I am getting nothing on the Maine eagle cam; just black screen. I coulnd't get on earlier either.
Candy, here is the link:
Symbols
Thanks DEB, but I just get numbers too. :(
I guess I am not supposed to learn that new trick.
I have to start getting ready to go for a spaghetti supper at my husband's fire station, so guess I had better get going. You all have a nice evening. Maybe I'll look into the symbols tomorrow and see if I can educate myself. Later gators.
I am trying it in Firefox.
222
More numbers, oh well.
I see 222, Deb:)
That's what I see, too.
juvie at BWO
Adults have been there all day, now it is his turn
He is pretty, isn't he!!
yes, he really is:)
Deb use your number keypad, use number lock button must be on, then hold down your alt button and hit the # 3 see if it changes to a heart.
JUVIE GONE.
Thanks, Dana, but Mac keyboards are different. There isn't a number lock button! I am searching Mac stuff to see what i can find.
UPDATE ON LUNEY...Saturday, November 8
On Friday morning the cub received a physical exam. Dr. Sam Rivera gave the cub his first distemper vaccine, weighed him and took some body measurements. YES, DEB, HE IS CUTE!!
hee hee Deb he needs a round bottom lol
POOF
can always tell that they are going to take off on next refresh, they have their heads out ready for take-off
Eagles are gone. I don't have as many to choose from as you all do, but I have some different ones.
☁☂✈✌✟❄
I like yours better....Deb:)
I open up a symbol page, pick the one I want and drag it into the comment box.☋
Neat ones Deb I like the airplane....going on a trip...just jump aboard lol
I think MAC's are probably more user friendly and fun:)
Here's one for the morning:☕
Sometimes they are frustrating, though. I am getting more used to it now, but at first it was hard to switch over. After so many years on a PC and being able to do just about anything, I had to learn so much all over again.
out of that whole list of alt characters I have, might use 4 of them....I don't like sliding out my keyboard unless I'm using the numbers to use my credit card
They are really small, in case you can't see it that last one was a cup of coffee.
lol....oh ok, thought it was the sun
That is really a little cup of coffee Deb ☺
My keyboard is little, about 4 x 16. It was weird to adjust to, now I have trouble using a normal sized one.
I don't see anyway to make them bigger. That would be the size cup of coffee I would drink. I can't drink coffee, but I love the smell of it.
I have lap-top here and flat screen desktop at beach....like them both
I'll take about a thousand of those cups Deb
looks like they blew the leaves away on snowman cam, and have put out the snow ruler
I am done with snow for awhile, just watching the Hills on TV was enough for me.
poor Deb, it is only November, a couple of times this last week I have wanted to put on the AC.
I was outside with no shoes on Wednesday, today, hat, gloves, heavy coat. The temp isn't that bad, but the wind is so strong. I think it feels colder, too, because we didn't get time to adjust. It is better to go down gradually, not all at once.
that is how it usualy is here.....warm one day and cold the next.
We are forecast for 57 next Friday, but that is a long way off. It will probably change before then. I need just a little more fall, before winter sets in.
Deer was on the other cam a while ago. Now on this one is raccoons.
Off to feed the dogs, bbl.
DEER running all over the place on SNOWMAN CAM.
Still one deer on the snowman cam.☃
they have been scurrying all over the place
♥♥♥Oh, now I seem to have it!♥♥♥ Love it. ☺ But there reallly aren't too many symbals that you can choose from.
yep, Candy, I'll just stick with my :):(....alot easier..
Hi DEB and MITS. Just got back from the spaghetti dinner at the fire station. It was yummy; especially since I didn't have to cook it.
I wonder if the poeple in the snowman cam put apples or anything out for the deer to feed on. The other day it was bears.
Pa. is deserted too.
Candy, nestorations are in progress. Tomorrow in the light look at how much the back side of the nest has been built up!
Hedgie, you really have kept yourself very busy today. You tired me out just reading about it. :) We really have been sooooo lucky this year on the east coast as far as hurricanes go.
MITS< Thanks for the update on baby Luney. j I haven't been able to look in on him much lately either. I do turn him on at school for the kids to see when they come in in the morning, but I have to keep refreshing, and I forget.

he certainly is getting nice and round...
Oh for retirement so I I could watch full time.
I was just wondering why the deer jeot coming.....hey look at the closeup of the deer and gone. Only for a moment. Must be camera shy
Oh, Candy...if only that were true!! I'm not able to do much at a given time. Don't have the air to really exert. My girls still say I make them tired and where do I get my energy....but I have learned that I have to pace myself, and stop trying to be super-housekeeper!!!
I read in their chat room, that Ken has to wipe deer snot off the cam, they get so close and sniff at it
MITS Maybe that is the storm that went through here on Tuesday. We got 6 to 8 inches of rain overnight and schools were closed for one day because of flooding. I woke up that morning and they were calling school off. It really surprised me as I didn't even know there was a storm out there.
It's really more time management and a type A personality than it is strength or energy!! LOL.
it hung around the mid-atlantic coast for a few days....wish I could put an outdoor cam up down at the condo:)
My Mom and Dad would get deer in their yard up north, as they would put cracked corn out for the turkeys, etc, and had a small pond dug out for the animals to drink from.
Mits, do you go down to OC much during the winter? A fire at the beach sounds SO relaxing!
HEDGIE I just hate to clean. I get off work and what do I do on my Saturdays, but clean and wash clothes. :(

How nice MITS. Very homey and cozy and neighborly. Do you get much snow in OC?
practically none....it is cool when it does snow.
Hard to believe that Berlin has maintained that atmosphere! Wonderful to know....I haven't been there or OC in over 25 yrs.!!
Talking about Christmas music, I have started seeing the first Christmas commercials on the TV. It is hard to believe that the year has gone by so fast. I haven't even thought about Thanksgiving yet. Now that Josh is married, I don't know if they will be coming here or going to her house or what. Time will tell.
how far does he live from you now, Candy, and how far do they live from her parents?
Candy - get you invitation in FIRST
snowman cam has a yack voice chat and you can here them talking to each other
the people not the deer:)

yea!!!!!!CANDY....congrats:)
Wish I lived closer and we could all go out and celebrate a little. :)
Way to go, Candy!!! JACKPOT!
Yeah, Candy!
Oh geez! My sister is calling me. Here goes another hour.
BB if I can get off in time.
Did I hear someone say PARTY!?
Let's go!
DEB, my grandson would love to visit with you and shovel your snow! He has liked to push around a snow shovel since he was just a little thing.
Oh boy I'm back at My roost, time to start reading backwards now...see how many oohs and aahs there were during "The Visit."
Candy: I won a 50-50 one year with the City Fire Department Local 805 and got $500 on Christmas Eve! Congratulations to you and Husband ! xoxo

Oh, this is funny! Check out
Sturgis Bike Week Cam
Ha Ha Ha Ha
Wish I had thought to check that a day or so ago !
I was watching some SD cams the last few days, Margy....snow was blowing sideways.
Wonder how the Wild Animals managed through it all...
those Sturgis cams are nice and clear...
little snowplow is working on the street now
Can you imagine what Deadwood is like? They have a cam, I wonder if it is running.
I just get question marks for the Deadwood cams.
They will bring in dump trucks, load up all the snow and dump it outside of town. Usually they will dump it close to a river or stream, if possible.
Here is a site where people send in pictures, click on the picture to make it bigger, then click again and it goes back to regular size.

That's Way Cool, Deb...I like the picture of the American Flag very much...and the crumpled swingset is unbelievable. See they had big snows in May too ! Very nice, thanks!
I like the one with the dogs on top of the drift. It shows how tall the drift is, about halfway to the electrical lines. Also, some of them from Lead.
Yes, all the animal photos are fun! Including the one of the dog on the inside looking out...
Well, some follks might be headed for their roosts for the night, go Good Night In Advance in case I miss you. I am over on Yahoo trying to catch up on emails there for a little longer...
Rest Well, everyone, Peace and Prayers xo ♥ ♥
Margy, you are so smart....I never gave the Sturgis cam a thought...that street sure looks a lot smaller than it did in bike week...also looks impassable!!!
Great photo link, Deb.
Sure glad that mess isn't here...and hope it doesn't come! We've been so lucky the last two winters....hope it holds.
When do you work again, Margy? ☻
Hedgie: As I have said before, IT IS THE (EAGLE) COMPANY I KEEP !! -
I am due to return Sunday night midnight, but I am call, so all things are fragile this week...
Tomorrow morning is a "No Alarm Clock Morning...
Lynn, my turkey turned out very nicely and I now have lots of broth to put in my Thanksgiving turkey.
That would "on call" this week. My computer just started getting a little squirrelly too, Wanda...I think the "characters" might be slowing my refreshes down a little, not you guy... THE OTHER CHARACTERS !!
That's part plagiarism, someone joked about us Characters earlier..sorry I can't remember who it was....
xo
LOL...since retiring, most mornings are No Alarm days, and I sure don't like it when I DO have to set it...except for great occasions like Open House!!
That was Glo...she has a way with words.
Turning in as soon as news ends. Talk to all you fine fowl friends tomorrow. Blessings and peace.
Good Night, Lynn. Sleep well.
My internal alarm clock just went off and told me it is time to go to bed.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SLEEP TIGHT
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Glad you folks jumped on here before hitting the sack! It was the "ghostly trio" there for awhile..
xo
Well, it is the end of a long day for me too....I don't even think ISS at 4:58 am is going to draw me out of bed....
Take Care and Good Night, Eagle ♀s and ♂s
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...
WE HAVE AN EAGLE IN OUR NEST!!
I just got on here, so I don't know how long he has been there. I think it is Lib.
BOTH ARE THERE NOW...HOW BEAUTIFUL THEY ARE!
BOTH ARE GONE NOW. I WILL POST A FEW PHOTOS OF THEM ON MY "WILD AND AND WONDERFUL" (THAT'S THE EASIEST WAY FOR ME TO SHOW THEM TO YOU)
I am now turning the mouse over to Dustin. HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY.
good morning Wanda
sorry I missed Lib and Belle this morning
Good Sunday morning to t-bird,Wanda and all others who will come on here throughout the day today.
Oh darn, missed the nest visit, but I do see where the sides seem to be getting built up and it is more rounded.
One lonely eagle perchec on the BWO nest and Pa. woods cam is still empty. Maybe some animals were there earlier this am.
Well I thing my husband just went out the door to go to church, so it is Later Gators, until after mass.
