Good evening to all. Glad the Royal Pair has made their appearance several times today.
Loved your photos formt he weekend Deb. Glad you made it through the snow ok. I must go click on the link for Nature Nits birds now. I am sure they too will be great to see.
Sorry to read about the sadness for some on the Blog right now as a family deals with tragedy. Prayers for our gal heading to surgery.
I did have a good little trip today and have the photos on Glo's Glimpses.
The cardinal at the top of the page was sitting in a tree outside my window as we saw our first flurries on Friday. The other photos on the slideshow are from yesterday and today at the Arsenal area. Feathered Friends as winter heads this way
Hi There! I rushed so fast that I missed the Deet! I just wanted to see what a deet looked like! lol Paula - glad to have read your Mom's report Saturday or Sunday. My week is very confusing with so much going on. I hope she keeps eating well and stays very alert with you & your brother visiting!
After watching this chat room.....still do not like them, but at least this one lets you be a guest, some chat rooms will not let you do that....guess they have something to hide?
well Mits you know I love chatrooms so ye If I can find someone who wants to chat I will be a chattin. I did in fact find someone from my local area . This will be fun for sure.
I however never ever leave the blog behind and I never will.
Guess I'll get on over and check out my email. So I guess is goodnight for now. All have pleasant dreams and a restful sleep. Tomorrow is a new day with a new beginning. Prayers being said for those in need.
My sister just left and it has started to rain. I was so hoping the freezing rain forecast was wrong. Glad you liked the pictures, I have more to add from today, but the blog is always so slow.
Glo and Loretta, love the pictures. Loretta, the mergansers are so striking; and I, too, like the cardinal best, Glo.
Well, my eagle friends, I am gonna go find something totally mindless on TV and veg out and, hopefully, fall asleep. Thanks so much for all the prayers. We are so grateful to have ya'll in our lives.
Ha Ha well the cardinal was right out my windwo so lots easier to get the photo than the others. But that one Pelican left today was putting on a show for me :)
The snow geese I saw yesterday are just the start of the migration. Most of the time I could hear them, but not see them, they fly so high. Finally I saw three groups of them flying overhead.
Loretta, I found a picture from last spring of the geese for you to see.
The pelicans around here left a few weeks ago already. We are mostly at an in between season right now. Not much for waterfowl yet, but the summer birds are gone.
Well the slides with all the Pelicans is from Sunday...there was one lone pelican there today...late traveler and you can see there is ice in that water. I bet its gone tomorrow too
I wasn't in the blizzard, Glo. I had strong winds, but hardly any snow. The snow was all in western SD. I wanted to be in Rapid City, but couldn't get there! There are still 2300 power poles down. As they get into areas that were blocked they find more and more down.
well I knew you were in the snow and hopefully being safe and wise about what to do given the storm. So did you take any snow pictures? I really love snow if I don't have to drive in it or have someone else I love who has to be out in it etc
No snow pictures, 1.6" doesn't amount to much and the pictures would be mostly bare ground. The wind blew most of what came down some place else. What snow did come down, came in the night.
OK well I am sorry your trip didn't go as planned, but I am very glad that you had fun anyway and all is safe. We have that freezing rain in our forecast in the morning. You seem to send your stuff my way L O L.
And then Glo you send that stuff our way! lol I looked & looked as we drove up the mountain for any deets! Only saw one along side the rode that had done battle with a truck/car. Then I remember that it is Black Powder season (I think). I have had phone calls & I watched a little of the antique road show.
well yes MeMa Jo I guess that is true. We all need to remember that it was just last week that we were sending gorgeous weather across the country. well except for Bluefield, have no clue why it was snowing there and 75 here. :)
Lolly emailed me i will not be on the blog for a while. i fell sat night, caught the fall with both hands and my right knee. we were leaving a restaurant and i tripped. spent a couple hours in the emergency room. nothing is broken. praise the lord, by both wrists and the 'heels' of my hands are badly bruised and wrapped. they do not hurt too much only when i exert any pressure, like wash my face. can not wring my wash rag.☺ they start to ache when left unwrapped. i am fine, just inconvenienced for a while. lolly ♥
Cont' I am doing better. My right hand hurt the worst at first, but now my left hand is the worst.????? I did get dressed today, did fairly well. Hurt to put deodorant on, my left hand does not want to do anything! ☺ Yes, Jack is wonderful. He is quick to take care of anything for me. He is presently cooking dinner. My hand and wrists just ache. If I try to do anything that concerns applying pressure then the pain. I am very careful. Both wrists have been getting more discolored each day. And, of course, my whole family will not let me forget this. Oh, well! I am doing better at typing, so I will be back on the blog sooner than expected. LOL
That is what I call Handicapped! Glad she has Jack with her but She Can't Do Yard Work! Arghhhhhh! Lolly will need to get out a good book - I hope she can turn those pages! lol ((( HUGS LOLLY )))
Poor Lolly....I know how uncomfortable you must be. Thank goodness it looks worse than the injury really is. You can just sit back and read!! Maybe Jack can type for you....if he has time after cooking, cleaning and doing yardwork..LOL. Jack is a dear.....no, not a deer or deet!!! Anyone heard from Anne Marie lately??
Ceil, sure glad you didn't snag those geese!! Can't recall ever seeing the white geese fly over, but we get the Canadian geese frequently, and they are SO noisy!! Sharon, glad you have Mattie with you tonight to help settle the nerves. What about Andrew? Is he supportive??
Night, Jo. Rest well! Thanks for Doe, Paula. SOuNd of Music is one of my favs, too....think I know almost all of the words by heart...songs and dialogue!!
LOLLY, So sorry to hear of your mishap. I think I know what you are feeling. Several years ago, I had a bout with arthritis in both my wrists (at the same time) and I couldn't do ANYTHING. Not even rub soap on a wash cloth to bathe, or brush my teeth. It was about two weeks before the shop opened. I didn't know at the time that you could get a cortisone shot for that area...thought it was only for the knees. The pain went away eventually and I have't had that problem since. It is a miracle that nothing was broken. Your guardian angle was with you....not JACK...that other angel! ((Hugs))
JO, I often get too tired to sleep. I just sit here at the puter until I nearly fall off the chair, then I go to bed and go right to sleep. Some people read or drink warm milk...I compute:)
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE SLEEP TIGHT MANY PRAYERS TONIGHT
Anybody got any decent recipes for deet meat?? I believe the colonists and the Indians enjoyed the meat of several deet at the original Thanksgiving tables.
Hi, Sissy, I thought I was the only one up this morning. It probably was Belle...the feet looked like Lib, but it was large like Belle. Hard for me to tell with Spidey's web there.
Good morning. Just put out my flag. Happy Veterans Day.
Lolly sorry to hear of your accident.I just sent a card to someone that has a dog in the front inside says As they say in obedience school. Heal. Hope you do that soon.
The temp is 29 here. Going to get a warm cup of tea. BBL

Great pics Glo. I love the cardinal in the flurries best also. That is one of my favorite winter sights.
We once had so many cardinals in our evergreen tree, that it looked like a Christmas tree trimmed with red ornaments.
Reminder to everyone to light a candle for Mason.
Candle
Sissy - yes, take it one day at a time. Things are working out
Candy - I have an Aflac duck, too. He's cute!
Deet peeking at the cam at MI

aww they are so cute...
Was just watching Snowman cam & a deer was up front looking right into the camera! Love cam tho, so I couldn't save pic.
Deb and Glo, your photos are wonderful, as always!! Never saw a double-v of geese like that!!!
Loretta at first you could not see it and all of sudden this face appears. I jumped. They have beautiful eyes.
I am tired and I probably won't be on here long. I went up the mountain, around the mountain and down the mountain! All in one day!
The day was very beautiful in all
ways.
Duh, Live cam, altho I do love it☺ ☺ ☺!
Best wishes & God's love to Jo, Sissy, Sharon & Paula's Mom & all your families ╬
That deet right there just might look into the camera.....
Lynn, I have never seen snow geese just regular geese. That was great.
Glo love the cardinal. They are so pretty in the winter when it snows. BBL
down oc this time of year, you see hundreds of v's of geese....it is very noisy
Glad all went well Jo. If I don't get back later all have a restful night.
Oh Red thanks for the candle for Mason reminder.
I think the deer were just talking to us:)
I think there is an entire herd of
deer there. There are only the
raccoons in the PA woods cam.
they are filling up the screen
Wanted to mention I saw the first
snow flurries up in western MD...
and it was sooooooooo cold because the wind was whipping away!

Sorry, I'm tired too!
I missed the visit. My Mattie is staying with me tonight. I am so glad. Helps me keep my mind off things!
I too love deets! ☺☺☺☺
Glo, beautiful pictures--lovely cardinal & cutey chipmunks are my favorites. ☺
see Glo over in the snowman chat room
After watching this chat room.....still do not like them, but at least this one lets you be a guest, some chat rooms will not let you do that....guess they have something to hide?
I don't care for the folks in the snowman chatroom either...
some are just plain mean and direspectful...jmho

ho wlong will it take her to get home, Deb?
Well, my eagle friends, I am gonna go find something totally mindless on TV and veg out and, hopefully, fall asleep. Thanks so much for all the prayers. We are so grateful to have ya'll in our lives.
It will only take her an hour and she is driving in the right direction, the rain will follow her home. I bet she only had to drive in about 10 miles.
We had two Deets in our woods this morning...they had antlers. :)
My sister and i saw two deets, one very small one and the other, I assume, the mother.
Ha Ha well the cardinal was right out my windwo so lots easier to get the photo than the others. But that one Pelican left today was putting on a show for me :)

We are icing over already, too. It seems too early for that. The rest of this week won't help, another storm coming Thursday night.
so did you take us any blizzard pictures
I wasn't in the blizzard, Glo. I had strong winds, but hardly any snow. The snow was all in western SD. I wanted to be in Rapid City, but couldn't get there! There are still 2300 power poles down. As they get into areas that were blocked they find more and more down.

In honor of the deer on the snowman cam tonight
Doe, a Deer
Duh, I meant deets :)
that was always a cute song:)
The song is going to be in my head all night and maybe even into tomorrow. I always loved it.....
I love that song, Paula, in fact, I love the whole movie!
well yes MeMa Jo I guess that is true. We all need to remember that it was just last week that we were sending gorgeous weather across the country. well except for Bluefield, have no clue why it was snowing there and 75 here. :)
well I don't own many DVD's at all but that is the first one I bought for myself. Love it every song on it and the story as well.
It was gorgeous, Glo! Could you do it again for us?
That was our Autumn Summer!
