Another two samples were analyzed today. The sample excreted yesterday afternoon had a progestin concentration of 55 ng/mg Cr., bringing yesterday's mean progestin value to 77 ng/mg Cr. The second sample, collected this morning, had a progestin concentration of 51 ng/mg Cr. Both of these values are lower than the values measured yesterday morning. Mei Xiang had another quiet night. She woke up at 3:27 this morning and worked on nest building for 15 minutes, including ten minutes shredding an enrichment log. She did not move again until 6:43 a.m., just before the keepers arrived. Mei came out for an ultrasound and when the procedure was completed she wanted to hang out in the training area, and finish ALL of the food, before returning to her indoor enclosures.
Up until noon today, we saw brief periods of pregnancy behaviors. The most significant observations were 12 minutes of nest building involving shredding the log at 8:48 a.m. and two episodes of paw licking, totaling 11 minutes, later in the morning. Mei urinated at 8:45 a.m. and again at 12:04 p.m. The second time, Mei was lying on her back and did not shift, so this sample is not retrievable. She has been asleep since then.

Mits i cant get up the panda cams neither been watching her almost constantly and alittle after 5pm she moved from one room to another and took a crap and peed what seemed a 5 gallon bucket on the floor ...So who knows whats going on.. hope you can find out!!

I think it was last night Tai was sleeping but he was cuddling that toy of his in his arms.. I thought maybe he knows he wont be the baby long..lol
And now she is on her side!
I will never tell what kind of deal I made while at the zoo but the results are obvious, don't ya think?

I was fortunate to have older brothers and sisters, so I gleaned a lot from their experiences and their music! But I am not TOO FAR BEHIND YOU GUYS! My brother was tickled to death when 'THE TWIST" came out. Me, my generation had the "Mashed Potato." Guess that's why I like them so much to this day!

Well, my internet explorer froze up, had to shut it down and now I can't get the cam from the NZ website, just through my windows media player.
My earliest memories of music were the Righteous Brothers, the Everly Brothers and the Carpenters. Donna turned me on to all 3 of those!

I have the pandas up on the website Mits gave, just sleeping. Sure would love to witness the birth of a panda (wish I was a panda). Got my little baby Mattie tonight. We are going to stay with Tom's mom tomorrow. I am surely grateful for Mattie. She is just the greatest kid.

Maybe you could crop it to get a better focus on the main elements, though.

Hi Jim. Have you been reading all day blog---the reggae version?? I couldn't hear the nest jammin' at work (no sound), but thx to Glo, Sharon & Paula, we've got video!!
Some have been naming their first/fave music artists. When I was a butter stick, folks radio played Frank Sinatra,Bing Crosby, Perry Como,Andrews Sisters.I think first real rock song I remember was "Rock Around the Clock" by Bill Haley & the Comets. Think it was the theme song to movie Blackboard Jungle. One Easter, my cousin & I went to see it up in PA. Told folks & grandparents it was a special cartoon show, as I'm sure it was outlawed in the Catholic Standard!!!
Other first records we bought were Johnny Mathis, Richie Valens "Oh Donna" & then of course loved Pretenders, Flamigoes, Everly Bros., Righteous & all those that followed.Think last CD I bought was Celine Dionne.And that's enough of the Top 40! Gonna see TV...

Yes, Margy, Dustin has been on the computer off and on all day. With him not being able to spend any time outside and having to rest as much as possible, the computer is all he has to occupy himself. Today is the last day for his meds! WOOOHOOO!! I think I will ease him into his regular routine. Just a little sun and heat tomorrow and add more time as the days go by. He did get winded a bit and had a fast heart-beat the last time he walked up to the mailbox...I'll keep an eye on him.
I almost missed it-Happy Happy B-Day Vicky!!! Hope you had a great day.

Also, I checked the WHITE STORK nest site late last night...it was EMPTY! Last time I checked was several days ago and they were still there (last Thursday I think...) just checked again, still empty...they were fun!
Their site says they lifted off July 18 - - wow, I shoulda been checking more often...
On White Stork site, off to the left, you cam click on "news" and go from there...
I can hardly ever get the Black Stork site up...freezes things up most of the time for me...
So - T-Bird - somewhere between 0530 and 0554 T-Bird...hope that means the others will visit too today...

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...
T-Bird and Margy got to see one of our Parents in the nest this morning. It must have been a brief visit. I hope those eagles give us some more music today. Amazing what a little bit of music generated in our group. Laughter about Reggae music, cocktails, smoke and haze, jammin eagles, etc. clean up til bedtime. We even had Bob jammin with us. Anybody reading this blog would think we were a bunch of party lovers, but we know that we are quiet and reserved. Have a good day, everyone.
