Just got the reply from Falcon Nest in VA:
Based on visual clues, it appears that a raccoon raided the nest site and ate the egg sometime last night (3/19 or 3/20).This happens occasionally to peregrine nests. Park staff will make every effort to live-trap the raccoon(s) and relocate them from the site.

Hey Glo, how is it going?
Mom came home today, after removing her own IV and heart monitor. She was really ready to come home. They changed some of her meds and added a couple. Hopefully we won't have to make another trip back for a while.
At 4 a.m., I had to take Andrew to the ER for stomach virus. They gave him fluids and meds for his nausea. He has been sleeping since we got home about 8:30. I am so ready to be done with hospitals for a while!

I keep watching for Belle to start looking under her but not happening yet. I pray these eggs are still okay!

Hi Sharon yes I had read yesterday she was hopefully heaidng home soon. Not so sure she should be removing her own stuff but hey guess your mom has a mind of her own. Explains a lot to be about he rkids LOL (((Hugs))) Gosh and now Andrew is sick...well darn. I am sure your trip to the hospital will help him to keep his strength a lot more though and fend of this virus quicker. I can surely understand you not wanting to be aorund th e hospitals.
Next time I go on a trip I will try a little experiment and pack my suitcases upstairs like a biologist would..see what kind of response I get if any from the dog world.

Now we all know Mema Jo knows we are all feeling a little down about what we saw when our nest came up yesterday, and we are all somewhat concerned about seeing a hatching egg like right now Mema Is trying to keep our spirits up and using scientific info to do so, don't tell her but I think our usually jovial MeMa Jo is a little down and concerend too. She is coming along side to help us all deal with yesterdays info and whatever today holds.
But i'm not gonna tell my doggies that anyway, and I don't think I'm gonna tell her kitty either (((((( Hugs MeMa Jo))))))

I'm not sure but Belle/Lib got off the nest all too briefly and I thought I saw a dark spot on one of the eggs. Live cam was acting up.
When Buphals is talking to me, I know he has human feelings just like I do. I don't care what scientist says what. And then you have the whining dog we have to deal with when Mommy is not here. Don't know about some of this stuff! :):):):):)

That is Belle on the nest. She's gonna dig to China today!
I went back and looked and saw what Jennifer was talking about, on the egg closest to the cam. Had a dark spot on it. I couldn't tell what it was. And couldn't see anything on last position change and egg roll either.
ONly 97% of people think their pets are part of the family! That was on the Today show this morning when they were talking about the pet food recall.
Have to go to the pharmacy. Keep an eagle eye out everybody and pray for a hatchling today!! (I know you already are!)
